Abstract

Antifungal activity test of avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill) against fungi that cause dermatophytosis skin disease, namely Trichophyton rubrum ATCC 28188, Epidermophyton floccosum ATCC 50266 and Microsporum canis ATCC 32699. Phytochemical test results of avocado seeds contain phenolic compounds, saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids. The antifungal activity test of ethanol extract of avocado seeds used the agar diffusion method, with a concentration of 26,25%, 48,75%, 75%, and the positive control used was ketoconazole and ethanol distillate negative control. The results showed that the diameter of the zone of inhibition against the fungus Trichophyton rubrum ATCC 28188 with an inhibition zone diameter of 7.5 mm, 9.8 mm, 12 mm, against the fungus Epidermophyton floccosum ATCC 50266, the inhibition zone diameter was 7.4 mm, 9, 7 mm, 11.7 mm and against fungi Microsporum canis ATCC 32699 the inhibition zone was 8.4 mm, 10.1 mm, 13.4 mm. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of avocado seeds has antifungal activity against. Trichophyton rubrum ATCC 28188, Epidermophyton floccosum ATCC 50266 and Microsporum canis ATCC 32699 The greatest antifungal activity was against Microsporum canis at a concentration of 75% with a diameter of 13.4 mm in the strong category

Abstract

Hydrochar of Salacca zalacca peels (HC-SP) is prepared by hydrothermal carbonization treatment of Salacca zalacca peels (SP) obtained from local fruits at Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia, with the resulting yield weight reaching 90%. Materials are characterized using the XRD diffraction, FTIR spectrum, and SEM-EDX. The XRD pattern shows the characteristics of the formation of amorphous compounds. The FTIR spectrum confirms the presence of functional groups O-H, C-H, C=C, and C-O. Data of SEM-EDX show that materials have heterogeneous morphologies, form aggregates, and in HC-SP materials there is an increase in carbon content from the initial material. The capacity of SP in the congo red (CR) adsorption process is 33.003 mg/g and increases to 133.333 mg/g in HC-SP. The maximum dye adsorbed was achieved at pH 4. The adsorption kinetics followed PSO with the equilibrium adsorption occurring at 90 minutes, and the adsorption isotherm followed the Langmuir isotherm with the value of R2 closer to the value of 1. A positive 4H value indicated that the adsorption is an endothermic process. In contrast, an 4S value suggested that the degree of irregularity in the adsorption process is small in large concentrations. Based on data regeneration ability, materials of SP and HC-SP can be used in the three cycles regeneration process of the CR adsorption process. The adsorption process of CR occurs physically and chemically based on enthalpy values and FT-IR data after being adsorbed with CR.

Abstract

This community service activity for STIFI Bhakti Pertiwi lecturer was held by conducting outreach to the community, namely MTS Al-Hikmah teacher. Counseling about the benefits of cooking spices as a source of natural antioxidants is carried out to provide education to the public about the use of local fresh ingredients in maintaining a healthy body, especially during the pandemic. This activity is carried out online, with the delivery of material about the benefits of antioxidants for the body, sources of antioxidants, antioxidant cooking spices and thier benefits and chemical content. The result of this activity is that people gain knowledge about antioxidants and their sources in daily food ingredients. Implementing lecturers who also represent campuses have succeeded ini making counseling activities a campus communication medium in conveying knowledge to the public. This service activity is very beneficial for the community

Abstract

Skizofrenia merupakan gangguan pikiran berupa kombinasi dari halusinasi, delusi, dan berpikir tidak teratur dan perilaku. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pola penggunaan obat  dan efek samping obat antipsikotik dengan menggunakan tools adverse drug reactions checker pada pasien skizofrenia di Rumah Sakit Ernaldi Bahar Palembang pada tahun 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif dari pasien skizofrenia rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Ernaldi Bahar Palembang 2020. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data pasien skizofrenia yang paling banyak pada laki-laki (76,25%), rentang usia 17-30 tahun (48,75%), skizofrenia yang paling banyak diderita yaitu skizofrenia paranoid (76,25%), dengan pendidikan yang paling banyak pada SMA (35%), penggunaan obat antipsikotik tunggal yang paling banyak digunakan adalah risperidone sebanyak 38,125%, penggunaan kombinasi obat antipsikotik yang paling banyak adalah risperidone-clozapine 7,5% dan chlorpromazine-risperidone 7,5% dan penggunaan obat non antipsikotik yang paling banyak digunakan adalah trihexypenidyl sebanyak 58,75%. Efek samping obat tunggal yang terjadi yaitu risperidone menimbulkan efek samping berupa pontesial munculnya gejala ekstrapiramidal, sedasi. Clozapine menimbulkan efek samping hipotensi ortostatik, gejala ekstrapiramidal. Kombinasi risperidone-clozapine menimbulkan efek samping hipotensi ortostatik gejala ekstrapiramidal. Clozapine-Haloperidol-Risperidone menimbulkan efek samping berupa penambahan berat badan efek samping yang tercatat di rekam medik pasien juga terdapat pada pembanding Tools Adverse Drug Reactions Checker yang digunakan medscape, drug.com, lexicomp.
