Abstract

Semantic word is actually a technical term that refers to the study of meaning. Semantics in Indonesian derived from the Greek 'sema' (noun) which means 'sign' or 'symbol'. The verb is 'semaino' which means 'mark' or 'symbolize'. The present study aims to examine the factors that can affect the shift of meaning in Indonesian based on current linguistic context. This study used qualitative research where the intent is to provide a detailed, in-depth description of everyday life. Data was taken from Indonesian language that may address particular themes that may facilitate the use of specific linguistic features. It tends to capture the reality of social life taking place in Indonesia. The result of this study shows that the type of meaning can be distinguished based on some criteria and points of view. The findings indicate that the type of meaning can be distinguished based on semantic types, namely between lexical meaning and grammatical meaning; based on the presence or absence of referents in a word, to distinguish the referential meanings and non-referential; based on the presence or absence of a sense of value in a word, to distinguish the connotative meaning and denotative; based on accuracy of its meaning, to distinguish the meaning of the term or the common meaning and special significance; kind of meaning can also be classified into two types, namely lexical meaning and contextual meaning

Abstract

penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh positif dan signifikan kualitas layanan, kepuasan pelanggan dan budaya gusjigang terhadap loyalitas pelanggan secara parsial maupun secara simultan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah pelanggan dari toko grosir pada Pasar Kliwon Kudus. Pelanggan yang tidak terdeteksi jumlahnya maka dalam penelitian ini diambil jumlah sampel sebanyak 200 orang (Hair, et. al) untuk dijadikan sebagai responden dari penelitian ini. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Sedangkan untuk metode analisis data menggunakan Analisis Statistik Deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan berpengaruh terhadap loyalitas pelanggan sebesar 18,14 %. Kepuasan pelanggan mempengaruhi loyalitas pelanggan sebesar 49,84 % dan budaya gusjigang berpengaruh terhadap loyalitas pelanggan sebesar 15,05 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas layanan, kepuasan pelanggan dan budaya gusjigang memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan. purpose of this research is to determine how the positive and significant impact of service quality, customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and gusjigang culture partially or simultaneously to customer loyalty. The population in this research was a customer of the grocery store in the Pasar Kliwon Kudus. As the amount of customers were not detected in this research, so it was chosen 200 persons as the sample of this research (Hair, et. al) to be the respondents on this reseach. The method of data collection was questionnaire. The method of data analysis was descriptive statistics analysis. The results show that the service quality influence 18.14% on customer loyalty. Customer satisfaction influence 49.84% on customer loyalty and culture gusjigang influence on customer loyalty 15.05%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the service quality, customer satisfaction and culture gusjigang have effect and significant impact on customer loyalty either partially or simultaneously.

Abstract

Language as a means of communication has an important role in delivering a message. Moreover, it is related to speech acts the speakers use. Each utterance has a different meaning to understand, and that is the job of the hearers and readers to interpret the meaning. Speech acts have three different distinct levels: locutionary (the actual words uttered), illocutionary (the force or intention behind the words), and perlocutionary (the effect of the illocution on the hearer). The researchers chose the “Oliver Twist” script as the data to analyse. Some of the scripts were taken and classified into the three levels of speech act: locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary. This research aimed to describe the three distinct levels of speech acts that are shown in the “Oliver Twist” script and to examine how speech acts are used in the “Oliver Twist” script. The researchers used a descriptive analysis technique in which the data were taken from some scripts which contain three distinct levels of speech acts. The researchers then identified the utterances and classified how they performed what the speaker meant. The result shows that some utterances have three distinct levels of speech act, such as I want some more, You must be hungry, A polite boy, Can we start the game and Because he is a street child. Since speech acts are essential to indicate what a speaker means, English learners should enrich themselves by understanding the function of speech acts and their distinct levels.

Abstract

Recently, the biggest problem of the university, especially Wahid Hasyim University is lack of lecturer who can speak English. Here, English is an international language that should be mastered by the lecturer at the university level. Many foreign students learn at Wahid Hasyim University. Although foreign students have been given lessons about the Indonesian language for one year before, in reality, they are still difficult to understand subject in Indonesia language which is not their own and universal language. Therefore, the lecturer should afford explanation subject in English when foreign students have not understood in Indonesia language. It shows that English is increasingly needed at the university level, not just for writing international journals but is needed in everyday life i.e. speaking. Thus, in order to compete in this millennial era, teaching staff need to practice and improve their English with the basic knowledge of speaking and how to apply it in learning. Furthermore, the university should hold an English course for teaching staff, so the teaching staff can apply English in the classroom. Thus, the teaching staff can make the foreign students become more comfortable and understand in the classroom.

Abstract

When learning occurs, teachers must be creative in developing learning media. Educators must be creative when delivering material via learning media. Schools have made efforts to foster teacher creativity, and various support facilities have been made available. Teachers face a variety of challenges as a result of online learning. This study focuses on classroom teachers' creativity, teacher constraints, and the school's efforts to use learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a field study with a qualitative approach. The study's findings indicate that (1) teachers' creativity in using interesting learning media will increase students' interest in learning. Virtual learning is the method employed. The media used is software-generated media, specifically the zoom application, YouTube, PPT, Whatsapp group, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Drive, and video call. The media used is then varied to create interesting and educational learning media. (2) The teacher's impediment to creating learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic class IV The network signal is Al Madina Islamic Elementary School, and the network plays an important role in teaching and learning activities. The first challenge for teachers when teaching online is network dependence. Second, student needs are not met during online learning. Third, there is a lack of parental supervision when engaging in online learning. (3) The school's efforts to develop teacher creativity include the provision of facilities and infrastructure that can be used without regard for space or time constraints, as well as an increase in the speed of the internet network in schools. The school conducts teacher evaluations. Following that is a workshop activity with the goal of expanding teachers' knowledge of teaching and developing creativity so that they can always improve themselvesKreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran sangat dibutuhkan ketika pembelajaran berlangsung. Pendidik dituntut kreatif dalam penyampaian materi melalui media pembelajaran. Sekolah telah berupaya dalam mengembangkan kreativitas guru, berbagai sarana pendukung telah terfasilitasi. Pembelajaran daring menyebabkan berbagai kendala serta kesulitan yang dialami guru. Fokus penelitian ini adalah kreativitas guru kelas, kendala guru, dan upaya pihak sekolah dalam pemanfaatan media pembelajaran pada masa pandemi covid-19. Penelian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Simpulan Penelitian menunjukkan (1) Kreativitas guru menggunakan media pembelajaran yang menarik akan membuat minat siswa dalam belajar akan mengalami peningkatan. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu virtual pembelajaran. Media yang digunakan adalah media berbahan software yaitu penggunaan perangkat lunak, yaitu aplikasi zoom, youtube, PPT, whatsapp grup, google classroom, google meet, google drive dan video call. Semua media yang digunakan kemudian divariasikan menjadi media pembelajaran yang menarik dan edukatif. (2) Kendala guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran pada masa pandemi covid-19 kelas IV A SD Islam Al Madina yaitu sinyal jaringan, Jaringan berperan penting dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Kesulitan guru dalam mengajar online yaitu pertama, ketergantungan jaringan Kedua, fasilitas peserta didik yang kurang terpenuhi selama pembelajaran online. Ketiga, kurangnya pengawasan dari orangtua ketika melaksanakan pembelajaran online. (3) Upaya pihak sekolah dalam mengembangkan kreativitas guru adalah pemenuhan sarana dan prasarana yang bisa digunakan tanpa adanya batas ruang dan waktu, penambahan kecepatan jaringan internet di sekolah. Evaluasi guru yang diadakan pihak sekolah, Selanjutnya yaitu kegiatan workshop yang dilaksanakan dengan tujuan menambah wawasan guru dalam mengajar dan mengembangkan kreativitas untuk selalu meningkatkan diri.

Abstract

This article describes the characteristics of language usage in badminton sport at MA AlIrsyad Gajah Demak. The use of language in badminton also has its own characteristic thatis different from the term on other sports. The use of language in badminton a lot of influencefrom the English language. Therefore, research on the use of language in badminton needs tobe done to solve linguistic problems in this sport. In this study used the method of presentingthe results of data analysis informally. The method of informal presentation is theformulation with ordinary words even with technical terminology. The method used is theresult of data analysis will materialize the explanation that is related to the characteristics oflanguage usage, language function in badminton sport, and special vocabulary in badmintonsport. Abstract

Generasi millenial diartikan dengan generasi yang lahir antara tahun 1980-2000. Generasi ini memiliki ciri utama yakni meningkatnya penggunaan dan kedekatanya dengan media, komunikasi, dan teknologi digital. Dengan kondisi tersebut, peran santri sebagai penyebar nilai-nilai keislaman dan kedamaian di masyarakat luas harus memiliki bekal yang cukup dalam menggunakan media. Dari latar belakang tersebut di atas, pengabdian ini akan mengkaji “Hipperealitas Sebagai Simbol Dakwah Santri Millenial Masa Pandemi Covid-19 (Studi Kasus Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Se-Kota Semarang)”. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberi bekal kepada santri tentang etika dakwah di era digital dan bagaimana cara menyajikan media dakwah yang menarik dan dapat diakses oleh banyak orang. Di antara hasil dari pengabdian ini yakni: Pertama, Para Santri sudah optimal memanfaatkan ilmu agamnya untuk berdakwah di Medsos. Kedua, Para santri dapat menggunakan tekhnologi Medsos, mengedit video, dan membuat konten dakwah yang bermanfaat dengan tekhnologi pada Medsos.

Abstract

AbstractIn order to realize the ideals of education required appropriate learning. Reality has not been a student-centered learning. The results of interviews of teachers and students gained student learning outcomes is low because students are less enthusiastic and active role in the learning process. The condition can be pursued through Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model with Quick and Smart which requires students to learn and understand the material. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of TGT aided Quick and Smart about Things in the Classroom material and learningoutcomes in one of state elementary school in Semarang. This study uses pretest-posttest control group design. Sample used are class VA (experimental class) and VB (control group). Sampling using random cluster sampling. The results showed experiment class is more active than control class, more than 80% experimental class students’s activity was high, posttest experimental class’s average was better than control class, N_gain class experimental’s score was high, achieved more than 80% of students posttest experimental group gained value ≥75. These results were confirmed by students and teachers response to learning model applied. Based on this research can be concluded that TGT aided Quick and Smart is effective to increase students’ activity and their learning outcome about Things in the Classroom.Keywords: Activity, Learning Result, Things in the Classroom, TGT Quick and Smart
