Abstract

ABSTRACT Alfalfa (Medicago Sativa L.) plant is known to have compounds of flavonoid and vitamine C which can serve as antioxidants. This research aims knowing the antioxidant activity of alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhydrazil method and knowing the content of its active compound have wan. The research was performed by making alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract by maceration method using ethanol extracting solvent 70%. The extract was divided into some concentrations of 10, 20, 40 and 80 μg/ml. As a comparison, vitamine C was used with concentrations of 1, 2, 4, and 8 μg/ml. The test of antioxidant activity was conducted by reacting 50 μl of alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract with 4.0 ml DPPH 0.1 mM, then it was measured for the absorbance using visible spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 525 nm. The obtained data was calculated to discover its antioxidant activity. The statistical analysis used was Mann-Whitney test. The IC50 value was gained using probit analysis and the statistical analysis used t-test and to discover the content of active compound in alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract, TLC test was performed. The research result indicated that the alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract had antioxidant activities with alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract IC50 value of 59.339 μg/ml, and standard solution of vitamine C IC50 value of 4.768 μg/ml. The result of statistical test for IC50 indicated an unsignificant difference between alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract and vitamine C. Otherside it could be concluded that the alfalfa herbal ethanolic extract containing flavonoid had antioxidant activities. Abstract

Corrosion is a decrease in the quality of a material or metal due to electrolyte reactions in the environment that affect the life of the material. Corrosion rate is the speed of propagation or speed of decline in the quality of a material with time. Corrosion processes occur in acidic environments, sea water, rain water, and soil are the result of chemical reactions that are also caused by electrochemical processes. The purpose of this study is to determine the corrosion resistance of aluminum metal to variations in the solution of Methanol (CH3OH). This study uses aluminum plates that will be immersed 5 days with a solution of Methanol (CH3OH). How to collect data by testing the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) on each aluminum plate specimen that has been treated with corrosion by heating at a temperature of 60 oC. Methanol solution is one of the factors causing corrosion of metals. If in the free environment, air, temperature, and acidic substances are most commonly found as a factor causing corrosion. The increased corrosion rate is due to the higher concentration of the cause of corrosion. In this discussion Methanol as the concentration used, and aluminum as the metal tested.

Abstract

Sharks have been international problems since 2013 after the emergence of several species of shark in Appendix II CITES status. This is due to the high exploitation of shark fishing, both as a target catch and as a by-catch. This study entitled the identification of shark species caught in the North Aceh Waters, which aims to identify the species of the shark located in the North Aceh Waters and to determine the conservation status of the shark species. The study was conducted at Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Lampulo (PPS Lampulo) for three months, starting from February 2017 to April 2017. The method used in this research is survey method and shark identification done by Rapid Assessment (rapid estimation), refers to the methods undertaken by Fahmi and White (2006). From the results of the observation, sharks identified as many as 747 individuals consisting of 16 families, 20 genus and 32 species of shark. Of these, there are several species included in the IUCN red list, i.e. 1 species with EN category (threatened), 10 species in the VU category (vulnerable), and 13 species in the NT category (Near Threatened). In addition, 4 shark species are categorized into Appendix II CITES status.       Hiu telah menjadi permasalahan internasional sejak tahun 2013, setelah masuknya beberapa spesies hiu dalam status apendiks II CITES.Hal ini disebabkan oleh tingginya ekploitasi penangkapan hiu, baik sebagai tangkapan target maupun sebagai tangkapan sampingan.Penelitian ini berjudul identifikasi spesies hiu yang tertangkap di Perairan Utara Aceh, yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies hiu yang berada di Perairan Utara Aceh dan untuk mengetahui status konservasi spesies hiu tersebut.Penelitian dilakukan pada Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Lampulo (PPS Lampulo) selama tiga bulan, dimulai saat bulan Februari 2017 hingga April 2017.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dan identifikasi hiu dilakukan secara Rapid Assessment (pendugaan secara cepat), mengacu pada metode yang dilakukan oleh Fahmi dan White (2006). Dari hasil pengamatan, berhasil teridentifikasi sebanyak 747 individu terdiri dari 16 family, 20 genus dan 32 spesies hiu. Dari jumlah hiu tersebut terdapat beberapa spesies yang masuk dalam IUCN red list yaitu, 1 spesies dengan kategori EN (terancam), 10 spesies dengan kategori VU (rawan), dan 13 spesies dengan kategori NT (hampir terancam). Selain itu 4 spesies hiu masuk kedalam status Appendix II CITES.

Abstract

AbstractThis article discusses the police’s authority to stop ongoing criminal investigation, i.e. by the issuance of an Instruction Letter to Cease Criminal Investigation and how it is at present used in practice.  This article is based on a legal reseach conducted on the basis of a legal dogmatic and socio-legal (criminal procedural and administrative law) approach. The research conducted reveals that the police enjoy great discretionary powers when deciding how and when to discontinue criminal investigations. The use of this power is regulated internally outside the purviews of the general public. In practice the police’s discretionary power to decide on the basis of its own wisdom is prone to be used for other social-political or even short term economic interest. IntisariTulisan ini membahas kewenangan diskresioner penyidik dari Kepolisian untuk menghentikan penyidikan melalui penerbitan Surat Perintah Penghentian Penyidikan (SP3) serta penggunaannya dalam praktik. Tulisan ini didasarkan pada penelitian hukum yang menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif (dogmatis) dan socio-legal di bidang hukum acara pidana dan hukum administrasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyidik menikmati kewenangan diskresioner yang sangat luas untuk menentukan kapan dan bagaimana penyidikan dihentikan.  Penggunaan kewenangan ini diatur melalui peraturan-peraturan internal yang pelaksanaannya berada di luar pengawasan masyarakat umum.  Dalam praktiknya bagaimana kewenangan ini digunakan atas dasar kebijakan penyidik seringkali dilandaskan pada tujuan mencapai ragam tujuan sosial-politik bahkan tujuan ekonomi jangka pendek.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Antioxidant is a compound that can inhibit free radicals. Free radicals can cause several diseases. The purpose of this study is to reveal the antioxidant activity of carica leave ethanol extract (CLEE) (Carica pubescens) and determine its active compounds. The extract produces with maceration method using ethanol 96% as a solvent. The antioxidant activities of CLEE series concentration (2.5; 5.0; 10.0; 15.0; 20.0 and 25.0) ppm and vitamin C series concentration of (0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0 and 2.5) ppm as standard antioxidant were measured with DPPH method. Absorbance was observed by spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Antioxidant activities presented by IC50 value derived from probit analysis. Identification of active compounds in CLEE was performed by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. The results showed that the IC50 value for CLEE and vitamin C as an antioxidant were 30.8 ppm and 2.9 ppm respectively. Base on TLC analysis, alkaloids, a phenol compound, and flavonoids were found in CLEE. Key words: antioxidant, Carica pubescens, DPPH, TLC

Abstract

Abstract Based on the survey, SMP Negeri 4 Semarang had many parrarel classes that it had?é?á 3 hours/week for science subject. To support it, this school was equipped by having a natural sciences labolatory. Actually, the teaching and learning process at the labolatory has been done well, but it needed to develop. Thus, they still need to buy?é?á reagent?é?á in chemistry store or health labolatory to help teaching natural sciences on practical work. Therefore, that chemistry reagent was not in new condition. Chemistry reagent which was kept too long in a storage place would decrease its ?é?áquality, then it will reduce the validation result if it is used for experiment on practical work.?é?á This case was caused by the teachers whose lack of skills in using the practical tools and understanding the function of these tools and materials. Then, we need a management in how to use practical work especially chemistry materials and reagent. The target of this program was natural sciences teachers, labolatory assistants and students of SMP Negeri 4 Semarang. The output result for this program was chemistry reagent and a set of equipment. This training makes the teachers and labolatory assistants more competent in providing chemistry reagent for natural sciences practical work autonomously. Abstract

Along with the development of technology, the quality of education is a benchmark to produce graduates who have knowledge and skills who are able to be competitive in the world of industry according to their fields of expertise. One of the supporting factors that can improve the quality of education is the presentation of quality and innovative teaching materials to trigger students' interest in learning. The I-Spring application is the solution because this application is able to combine audio, video, music and practice questions in one file, then convert the power point format into an html format that can be presented online at local hotspots. Based on this background, the Balikpapan State Polytechnic Electrical Engineering Department carried out Community Service activities with a training method for making multimedia-based teaching materials. The activity took place in Balikpapan State Middle School 15 and State Vocational High School 6 Balikpapan with 32 participants. The purpose of this training is to improve the competence of the teachers in making interesting and innovative teaching materials, thereby increasing students' interest in learning. The final results in the form of the work of the teachers can present the teaching materials based on I-Spring applications with a success rate of 85%.

Abstract

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah Melalui Pendekatan Saintifik untuk Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar IPS Siswa Kelas IX C SMPN 7 Kota Bima Pokok Bahasan Potensi Sumber Daya Manusia Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk meningkatan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas IX C SMPN 7 Kota Bima pada pokok bahasan Potensi Sumber Daya Manusia tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah: (1) data tentang kegiatan proses pembelajaran dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi. (2) Hasil belajar Siswa dikumpulkan dengan memberikan tes pada setiap akhir siklus. Ketentuan belajar dikatakan tuntas jika ³ 85% siswa kelas IX C SMPN 7 Kota Bima mendapat nilai > 7,5 pada tes akhir tiap siklus dan aktivitas belajar siswa minimal berkategori aktif atau baik sesuai dengan standar skor yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah sebagai berikut: Siklus I; nilai rata-rata   hasil belajar siswa 7,23 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajarnya sebesar 62,50%, dan aktivitas siswa  pada pertemuan pertama dan kedua adalah sebesar 55% yang tergolong pada kategori cukup aktif. Dan terjadi peningkatan pada Siklus II; nilai rata-rata hasil belajar naik menjadi 8,5 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajarnya 87,50% dan aktivitas belajar siswa 90% berada pada kategori sangat aktif. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan sudah tercapainya indikator penelitian yang ditetapkan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah melalui pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas IX C SMPN 7 Kota Bima pada pokok bahasan Potensi Sumber Daya Manusia Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018

Abstract

ABSTRACT Free radicals can lead to various dangerous diseases, such as cancer. Active compounds from medicinal plants such as flavonoids and alkaloids have been shown the antioxidant effects and may serve to prevent the negative effects of free radicals. Two of these compounds have been identified in leaf extract (Carica pubescens) and can be separated from other compounds with fractionation method. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of n-hexane fraction of karika leaves ethanol extract (HFKLEE) with DPPH method and identify its alkaloids and flavonoids compounds. Antioxidant activity of HFKLEE series concentration (50; 100; 150; 200; 250 and 300) ppm was performed by the DPPH method. Vitamin C series concentration (0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0 and 2.5) ppm was used as a standard solution. Identification of alkaloids and flavonoids compound in HFKLEE determined by the thin layer chromatography (TLC) method. The results showed that HFKLEE has antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 157.134 ppm and Vitamin C at 2.875 ppm. TLC results indicate the presence of alkaloids and flavonoids compounds in HFKLEE. Abstract

ABSTRACTCitrus aurantifolia is known contains flavonoid compound and high Vitamin C. One of theeffects of flavonoid and Vitamin C are antioxidant. This research aims to knowing the antioxidantactivity of citrus aurantifolia etanolic extract by using the DPPH (1, 1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) methodand to knowing the active compound that containing whithin.The research was done by making level series of citrus aurantifolia etanolic extract, they were10, 20, 40 and 80 μg/ml. As a standard of comparison was used vitamin C with concentrations 1, 2, 4and 8 μg/ml. As a blank was used DPPH 0,1 mM. The antioxidant activity test was done by the DPPHmethod. The achieved data was counted to know it’s antioxidant activity. The statistical analysis wasused T-Test. To know IC50 (Inhibition Concentration)50 was used the probit analysis and to know it’sactive compound content was done an identification with TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography).The result of the research shows that etanolic extract of citrus aurantifolia has antioxidantactivity IC50 about 54,458 μg/ml and 4,768 μg/ml for vitamin C. The statistical test result of antioxidantactivity shows that there is no any significant difference. The TLC result shows that compoundcontained in etanolic extract of citrus aurantifolia are flavonoid and Vitamin C.Keywords: Citrus aurantifolia extract, DPPH method, antioxidant and IC50.
