Abstract

Kesulitan dalam belajar dapat disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor internal maupun faktor-faktor eksternal. Faktor internal adalah faktor yang berasal dari dalam diri individu mahasiswa sendiri, baik yang bersifat biologis maupun psikologis. Faktor ekternal yaitu faktor yang berasal dari luar individu mahasiswa, antara lain berupa lingkungan alam fisis dan lingkungan sosial. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesulitan mahasiswa dalam matakuliah statistka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Strategi untuk mengatasi kesulitan belajar statistika pada mahasiswa dibutuhkan peran dari pendidik untuk mengatasi kesulitan belajar statistika tersebut. Selain itu hal yang paling penting yakni kemauan dari dalam diri mahasiswa untuk bisa berubah. Ini merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk menghilangkan kesulitan belajar statistika mahasiswa

Abstract

This research was motivated by the condition of Mathematics Education students who were unfamiliar and unable to read and use these mathematical symbols correctly. This study aimed to examine the effect of Kahoot! game media on students’ understanding of concepts, especially on mathematical symbols. The population of this study was students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University. At the same time, the research sample was 100 people obtained through random sampling, namely students who attended the introduction of mathematical symbols. The data was collected by taking a mathematical understanding test before and after using the Kahoot game media. Analysis of the data used was the paired t-test. The results showed a difference in the pre-test and post-test scores of students’ conceptual understanding, where the significance value was 0.05%.

Abstract

Several previous research studies stated that parents have a big role in implementing learning during a global pandemic, which is well-known with COVID-19. This research aims to review the role and strategies of parents in assisting children to learn during the pandemic. The research method is a literature study by selecting various articles of research results according to the research study. The results of the study indicate that effective learning can be done by recognizing children's learning styles, creating a positive environment, creating various learning methods with teacher coordination. In addition to parents, the government and teachers also have a stake in the success of practical learning in achieving learning goals: online learning through instructional videos, assignments tailored to learning conditions at home, and preparing learning tools to be carried out at home. These findings provide valuable insights for parents to be alert and more creative in creating effective learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the pedagogical skills of students in applying mathematics learning in elementary schools. The pedagogical skills studied focused on skills in making lesson plans and implementing learning. The method used was descriptive quantitative research method. The research sample used was 13 students of the 5th semester elementary school teacher education study program. The results showed that the students' pedagogical skills were in the good category with an average score of 81.11%. Recommendations that can be given are the need for students to be accompanied on an ongoing basis starting from the stage of making lesson plans, implementation, to evaluation when the implementation of mathematics learning is simulated in the classroom.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan ilmu yang seringkali dianggap tentang ilmu yang hanya mempelajari rumus-rumus. Seiring dengan perkembangan ilmu matematika ternyata kajian trigonometri tidak hanya diterapkan dalam bidang datar saja tetapi juga dapat diterapkan dalam bangun ruang seperti bola. Penerapan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari misalnya penentuan arah kiblat, penentuan waktu salat dan penentuan kalender Hijriyah. Konsep trigonometri pada bola dikenal dengan sebutan trigonometri segitiga bola atau spherical trigonometri dan dapat digunakan dalam menentukan waktu salat dengan rumus-rumus segitiga bola menggunakan sudut yang dibentuk dari dua titik yang berada di atas bumi. Aplikasi spherical trigonometri dalam penentuan arah kiblat adalah dengan melakukan pengukuran arah kiblat tempat yang kita ingin menggunakan data-data seperti lintang dan bujur kota Mekah dan kota yang akan ditentukan arah kiblat nya.

Abstract

In general, it is known that prospective mathematics teachers in Bangkinang are currently not familiar with ethnomathematical exploration in traditional technology and do not know the importance of ethnomathematical exploration and how to develop it in traditional technology. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide opportunities for prospective teachers in Bangkinang city regarding ethnomathematical exploration training on traditional technology for prospective teachers in Kampar Regency. This study uses the methods of planning/preparation, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The results showed that first, prospective teachers throughout Kampar Regency were enthusiastic about research ethnomathematics training to view and understand mathematics from the special cultural elements of Kampar Regency. Second, improve the knowledge and skills of prospective teachers about ethnomathematical research, especially in Kampar district and third, Ethnomathematics training materials to improve understanding of prospective teachers are attached in the appendix.

Abstract

Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevalidan instrumen yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian eksplorasi etnomatematika seni silat persembahan Kampar (PERSIMO) dan seni Tari Pasombahan khas Kampar. Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 3 orang validator yang ahli dibidangnya. Berdasarkan hasil dari validasi lembar wawancara, validator menyatakan bahwa lembar intrumen wawancara berada pada kategori valid, sehingga lembar wawancara dapat digunakan untuk mendapatkan data dilapangan sesuai dengan kebutuhan penelitian.

Abstract

This service activity aims to socialize tips for writing international journals and introduce international journals for mathematics education for mathematics education student. The service method is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the reporting stage. Based on the stages of activities that have been planned, community service activities are produced, such as: (1) the preparatory stage is to produce materials and community service instruments. The material produced is in the form of international journal tips, and getting to know international journals in mathematics education. In addition, the resulting instrument is a participant response questionnaire which will be given at the end of the activity; (2) the implementation phase resulted in the introduction of international journals, international journals for mathematics education, and the requirements for writing international journals (3) the reporting stage resulted in an analysis report and evaluation of all processes of community service activities. In conclusion, the results of the dedication show that the students are very happy and well received, so that this workshop has been able to provide a clear picture regarding the tips of international journals (know international journals for mathematics education. Finally, students are expected to be able to get to know international journals for mathematics education well and right.

Abstract

Model Eliciting Activities (MEA) is an activity to create or build models and modeling perspectives for mathematical connections in mathematics education. This study aims to determine research trends from generating activities to mathematical connection abilities and to see opportunities for future research based on VOSviewer. This study used bibliometric analysis, the data in this study were obtained through Google Scholar using publish or perish from 2013 to 2023 with the keyword eliciting activities. It was found that the research trend of eliciting activities on mathematical connection abilities in Full Counting Density Visualization contained 54 terms related to mathematical connection abilities. The density display model shows that the most research related to eliciting activities is eliciting open-ended activities, learning outcomes, hots and cognitive styles which are marked in bright yellow. The brighter the yellow color, the more research has been done. While the research that is still small is the ability of mathematical connections, problem solving abilities and critical thinking which are marked with dim colors. Thus, the opportunity to carry out the latest research to retrieve these items can be done because they are rarely studied.
