Abstract

In this work, the imbalances in band gap energy between p-window layer and intrinsic layer (p/i interface) in p-i-n type solar cells to suppress charge recombination adopting with the addition of buffer layer, at p/i interface, namely solar cell structures without buffer (Cell A) and with buffer (Cell B). Using well-practiced AFORS-HET software, performances of Cell A and Cell B structures are evaluated and compared to experimental data. A good agreement between AFORS-HET modelling and experimental data was obtained for Cell A (error = 1.02%) and Cell B (error = 0.07%), respectively. The effects of dopant concentrations of the p-type and n-type were examined with respect to cell B for better performance by analysing the energy band diagram, the electric field distribution, the trapped hole density, the light J-V characteristics, and the external quantum efficiency. The simulated results of an optimised Cell B showed that the highest efficiency of 8.81% (VOC = 1042 mV, JSC = 10.08 mA/cm2, FF = 83.85%) has been obtained for the optimum dopant values of NA = 1.0 x 1019 cm-3 and ND = 1.0 x 1019 cm-3, respectively. A comparison between experimental data and simulation results for Cell B showed that the conversion efficiency can be enhanced from 5.61% to 8.81%, using the optimized values

Abstract

In this study, we report that the current-voltage characteristic curve of solar cells provides information about the efficiency of solar cells to convert sunlight directly into electrical energy. The influence of temperature, level of irradiation, as well as the basic materials that are made of it will cause the characteristic curve to change. The halogen lamp is utilized as a light source and is focused in a box with all of its sides being dark as part of a sun simulator that serves as a substitute for the sun's role in the solar system. The solar cell's characteristics are determined by adjusting the irradiation distance and intensity that it receives. The conformity of the output results from measuring the solar cell characteristics in the form of Isc, Voc, Pmax, Imax, and Vmax with the factory specification product obtained. From the results obtained a Voc of 8.59 Volts, an Isc of 0.00539 Amperes, and a Pmax of 0.0217008 Watt at a light intensity of 24.6 Watt/m2.

Abstract

Studi yang kami lakukkan membahas tentang pembuatan sel surya a-Si:H (Silikon Amorf Terhidrogenasi) dengan menggunakan teknik Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD). Sel surya a-Si:H yang kami hasilkan dideposisi pada substrat kaca Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) yang memiliki lapisan konduktif pada lapisannya. Pembuatan lapisan aktif pada sel surya a-Si:H dengan cara mecampur gas silan dan hidrogen secara bersama didalam chamber PECVD.  Sementara pada lapisan pasif sel surya a-Si:H dijaga dengan struktur yang tetap. Setelah sel surya a-Si:H terbentuk ditambah lapisan logam di bagian belakang yang berfungsi sebagai kontak listrik dan reflektor cahaya. Selain itu juga, sifat fisis yaitu ketebalan-morfologi, sifat optik yaitu celah pita, sifat elektrik yaitu konduktivitas listrik, dan karakterisasi I-V sel surya a-Si:H dikarakterisasi dengan simulator surya dan sinar matahari. Hasil kami memperlihatkan,  sel surya a-Si:H lapisan aktif yang diperoleh dari pekerjaan ini, mendapatkan efisiensi konversinya yang cukup baik sebesar 8,48%. Kami meyakini bahwa pekerjaan yang kami lakukkan menjadi upaya yang baik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan energi terbarukan di indonesia.

Abstract

Color is a certain spectrum contained in a perfect light (white). The purpose of this study is 1). Can determine the cause of the color of the object (what causes a different object than the other color) 2). Can observe the color that occurs when two or more colors are mixed. The benefit in order to inform readers about what actually causes the color of the object and what if two or more colors are mixed. Mixing colors for color RGB, the colors Red to Green produce colors orange, blue color to produce a color Sian Green, Red color with blue produce magenta, and Red, Green with Blue produces white color. For CMY color mixing, the colors Cyan with yellow produce green color, magenta with yellow produces red color, the color Cyan by Magenta produces blue, and the colors Cyan, Magenta produces yellow Gray (Brown). Color objects can be invisible to the eye because of the reflection of the color of the object illuminated by light.

Abstract

In this work, it is reported that the development of technology makes the need for electrical energy in recent years has increased very rapid. PT Multidaya Prima Elektrindo is a company engaged in power generation using gas energy sources, namely the Gas Engine Power Plant. with a capacity of 2x6 MW. The energy produced by this plant will later be distributed to consumers through the State Electricity Company. Along with its use, generating machines continuously work for long periods of time. If this continues, there will be overheating of the engine which can cause a trip to the engine, to prevent a trip on the engine, monitoring the cooling system on the engine can prevent overheating which can cause a trip on the engine. By using a cooling system, the performance of the engine at the generator in generating energy is optimal. The processed data is weather data around the PLTG location and characteristic data from the gas turbine. The results of data processing are taken into consideration in choosing a cooling system. Other processing data in the form of cooling load is then used to design the components of the cooling system that will be applied. The results of the study show that reducing the outside air temperature entering the gas turbine compressor to 22 °C, can increase the output power of the PLTG gas turbine by more than 10 MW.

Abstract

Photoanode is a component of the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSCc) which is synthesized from metal oxide semiconductor material with nanoparticle size deposited on transparent conductive glass. TiO2 powder was synthesized by mixing 20 mL of Titanium (III) chloride (TiCl3) with 100 mL of the equator and stirred for 1 hour. TiO2-SnO2 thin films have been successfully synthesized using the coprecipitation method and coated on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) substrate by doctor-blade technique. The structure and morphology of the films were investigated by XRD and SEM respectively. The analysis of optical characteristics shows that the absorbance of TiO2 photoanode is in the wavelength range of 300-600 nm while SnO2 is in the wavelength range of 300-870 nm. The results showed that the synthesized film with SnO2 had a stronger anatase formation than the film with pure TiO2. Finally, incorporating SnO2 into the TiO2 matrix is an effective strategy to improve the overall properties of solar cells in future applications

Abstract

In this work, we report that various electronic device are continuously being developed to support human life. The scale also varies, ranging from simple household appliances to heavy industrial equipment. In the process of collecting household electrical power, a kWh Meter is needed to simplify and minimize employee errors in inputting data on household and industrial electricity usage in the Medan City area. In its operation, operational and non-operational disturbances often occur such as congestion at the kWh meter, fire at the kWh meter, and other unavoidable disturbances. In overcoming disturbances that occur in kWh Meters, Inspection and Maintenance of kWh meters can be carried out, especially on digital / Postpaid kWh Meters. This report contains the type of kWh that is often used, the components in the kWh meter, the types of disturbances that often occur in the kWh meter, the impact on the damage to the kWh meter, and how to overcome these types of disturbances.

Pada studi ini, kami melaporkan secara singkat tentang struktur silikon kristal, silikon amorf, dan silikon amorf terhidrogenasi dalam menyoroti perbedaan struktural. Kemudian, pada bagian struktur ini kami menyajikan perbandingan berbasis fitur-demi-fitur antara sel surya c-Si dan sel surya a-Si. Bagaimana peran struktur silikon yang berbeda dalam setiap karakteristik PV selanjutnya dieksplorasi. Pada akhirnya, berdasarkan fitur-fitur yang dianalisis sebelumnya, kami melakukkan pembahasan lebih lanjut tentang keadaan di mana penggunaan sel surya c-Si atau a-Si. Singkatnya, efisiensi konversi yang luar biasa dan biaya yang ramah pengguna sel surya silikon kristalin terbukti berhasil, sementara sifat mengganggu sel surya silikon amorf menunjukkan beberapa sifat optik dan listrik, seperti koefisien penyerapan tinggi dan Efek Staebler-Wronski, yang belum pernah diantisipasi sebelumnya.

Abstract

In this study, we try to propose a simple electronic computational experiment of one-dimensional motion, which combines physics and computer science. Our experimental setup is based on the Raspberry Pi3 model B with the Raspbian operating system. The ultrasonic proximity sensor is the HC-SR04, which can be powered using the +5V DC output of the Raspberry Pi. An ultrasonic proximity sensor is used to obtain the position of a selected target along a linear path, with a Raspberry Pi and simple Python code. Another simple script is proposed to calculate velocity and acceleration and for a graphical presentation of the results. Our results show that motion can be qualitatively and quantitatively defined, and the experiment is suitable for undergraduate students or for younger students
