Abstract

Bird Species dependsonlandscape,whichisusedastheir breeding,  restingand feeding area.  Landscape of Agroforestry Ilengiis  mix tree garden like primer forest.Thisstudy is aim togather informationaboutdiversity bird species,including richness, evennessandspeciessimilarity oneachlocationinthestudy.Thisstudy used concentrationmethod. Eightspeciesofbirdsand194 countwerefoundduring3monthsstudy.Thehighestdiversity valuewasfoundin landscape agroforestry ilengi 1,29. Generally bird diversity in all location research include medium level. The richness of species is highest at natural forests with a value 1.70. Evenness of bird species in agroforestry ilengi in the category unstable. The role of local communities for conservation is good enough to understand the habits of birds in agroforestry ilengi, such Local naming each of the birds found 61% of respondents know about the birds in the research sites.

Abstract

AbstractThis study deals with the improvement of the students’ achievement in writing recounttext using sequence of pictures. This study was conducted by using action research atsecond year of SMP N 1 Kualuh Selatan. The sample of this study was just one classnamely: VIII-1. The number of this class was 35 students. This study was conducted intwo cycles and every cycle consisted three meetings. To collect the data, the instrumentsof data were used, writing test (quantitative data) and diary notes, interview sheet andobservation sheet (qualitative data). In analyzing data, the mean of the students’ scorefor the first competency test was 60,9, for the second competency test was 69,3, and forthe third competency test was 80,0 and total percentage of improvement from the firstcompetency to the third competency test was 85,72%. The conclusion is that usingsequence of pictures can improve the students’ writing achievement in recount text. It issuggested that English teacher should apply sequence of pictures as one of media toimprove students’ writing achievement in recount text.Key words: Students’ achievement, Writing, Recount text, Sequence of Pictures

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was focused to improve students’ achievement in writing narrative text by using Think Pair Share Strategy. It was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research with two cycles and six meetings. The subject of this study is Grade X Students of SMA PAB 1 MEDAN ESTATE and consisted of 28 students. The instruments for collecting data used writing test for quantitative and used diary notes, observation sheet and interview sheet for qualitative data. The mean of the test shows the improvement of the students’ score from the first test to the third test. The mean of the students’ score for orientation test was (76,7), the mean in cycle I test was (78,3), and the mean in the cycle II test was (79,4). Based on the data above, it can be concluded that Think Pair Share Strategy is significantly improved students’ writing achievement especially in narrative text.

Abstract

AbstractThis research concerned with the improving students’ speaking achievement in descriptive text by applying picture in the second grade of junior high school. The objective of the research was to find out whether applying picture improves the students’ speaking achievement in descriptive text in the second grade of Junior High School. It was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this research was the second grade students’ class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Kisaran which consisted of 36 students. The instrument for collecting data were speaking test, observation sheet, interview, and diary notes. The techniques for data analysis were quantitative and qualitative data. In analyzing data, the mean for the students’ score in orientation test was 57.16, for the cycle I test was 68.63, and for the cycle II test was 79 and total percentage of the studentswho got improvement from the orientation test up to cycle II test was 85.72. The result of this research showed that by applying picture significantly improved students’ speaking achievement in descriptive text.Keywords: Descriptive Text, Picture, Students’ Speaking Achievement
