Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain the evidence concerning information technology uses. This paper draws factors that influence information technology uses such as social factor, affect, complexity, job-fit, long-term consequences, facilitating condition; and individual performance in the hospital. The research method used is cluster random sampling method to 120 hospital employees (medic and non medic) shared on three hospitals in Yogyakarta. The Structural Equation Model analysis is used to test the hypothesis. The hypothesis test proved that social factor, complexity, and job-fit, long-term consequences were positively and significantly correlated to information technology uses. Nevertheless, affect and facilitating condition were negatively and not significantly correlated to information technology use. Finally, the last hypothesis test proved that information technology uses was positively and significantly to individual performance as well.

Abstract

This research was designed to describe the causal relationships between environmental complexity, governmentregulation, diversification levels, and performance. This research was conducted toward banking industryin East Java, in which the research samples were the top ten (10) well performed national commercial banks. The analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research shows that: (1) thehigher environmental complexity level, the diversification made by the bank toward its major function wasgetting further or business activities of the bank was tend to be fee-based income activities and in fact increasebanks performance; (2) banking industry were encouraged to focus on its major function as intermediarycorporation due to intense support of government and reserve bank of Indonesia. However, the banking performancewas getting lower if the support of government and reserve bank of Indonesia on the main function of thebank (credit distribution) was getting higher. This investigation suggest that control system was needed inorder to increase the main function of the bank without increasing its risks.

Abstract

The popular press often writes about the factory of the future: a fully automated factory that manufactures a wide variety of products without human intervention. Although some peopless factories do exits and others will be built, the major advances being made today occur in manufacturing operations where computers are being integrated into the process to help workers create high quality products. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is an umbrella term for the total integration of product design and engineering, process planning, and manufacturing by means of complex computer systems. Less comprehensive computerized systems for production planning, inventory control, or scheduling are often considered part of CIM. By using this powerful computer systems to integrated all phases of manufacturing, from initial customer order to final shipment, firms hope to increase productivity, improve quality, meet customer needs faster, and offer more flexibility.
