Abstract

A study of reproductive performance of buffalo treated with levels of GnRH was conducted on twenty buffaloes of Kampar. The animals were divided into five groups. Group 1 received 200 µg GnRH, the second group received 250 µg GnRH, the third group received 300 µg GnRH, the fourth group received 350 µg GnRH and the fifth group received 400 µg GnRH. Each group also received 12.5 µg PGF2α at days 7 following GnRH injection. Sign of estrus was observed 9 days after GnRH injection. Statistical analysis was performed based on completely randomized design. Results showed that the injection of 300µg of GnRH that was followed by 12,5 µg of PGF2α was able to show obvious sign of post-partum oestrus, with sign of estrus appeared at oestrus rate of 27.8 hours, following PGF2α injection, with 100% of pregnancy rate and 100% of calving rate. Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the onset of estrus, conception rate, pregnancy rate and duration of estrus in Bali cow, limousine cow and rambon cow after being administered with three different hormones to syncrhronize estrus. A randomized block design with two factors, type of cow and hormone dose, was performed. Fifty-four postpartum cows consisted of the three breeds were administered to a single dose of PGF2α (5 ml per cow), a double dose of PGF2α (10 ml per cow) and combination of PGF2α and hCG (1,500 IU per cow). An analysis of variance showed that different breeds did not associate with the hormone doses and their combination, as evident from the onset of estrus, duration of estrus, conception rates and service per conception. However, different cow breeds showed the same onset of estrus, service per conception and the different onset of estrus and pregnancy rates. On the other hand, different doses of PGF2α and its combination with hCG generated different onset of estrus, duration of estrus, and pregnancy rates, but shared common service per conception. In conclusion, Bali cow demonstrated a more appropriate fertility than Limousin cow and Rambon cow. A combination of PGF2α and hCG showed the most adequate hormonal treatment to synchronize the estrus compared to single and double doses of PGF2α.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to investigate the effect of administration of GnRH and PGF2α ononset of estrus and conception rate in different postpartum swamp buffalo (Bubalus bubalis). Twentypostpartum (pp) buffalo-cows were divided into four groups of five buffaloes as follows: Group A (30day pp), Group B (45 dpp), Group C (60 dpp), and Group D (75 dpp). The buffaloes in each group wereinjected intramuscularly with 3 ml GnRH at day 0, followed by intramuscular injection of 2.5 ml PGF2α,10 ml) at day 7 after GnRH injection. Observation of estrus was performed 24 h after injection of PGF2α.Artificial insemination was performed 18 h after estrus signs clearly visible. The result of study showedthat there were no difference (p>0.05) among treatments on the percentages of estrus (100%), onset ofestrus (37.4 to 38.4 h), duration of estrus (16.8 to 18.2 h) and conception rate (100%). In conclusion,buffalo-cows in Kampar Regency can be served as early as 30 days post partum using combination of 3ml GnRH and 2.5 ml of PGF2α.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari metode sinkronisasi yang dapat meningkatkan angka kebuntingan pada kerbau rawa di Kabupaten Kuansing. Penelitian ini menggunakan  ekor ternak kerbau betina yang tidak bunting dan dibagi dalam 3 kelompok. Kelompok pertama di injeksi dengan GnRH pada hari pertama, diikuti injeksi PGF2α pada hari ke-7 setelah injeksi GnRH. Pengamatan dilakukan pada hari ke-8. Kelompok kedua di injeksi PGF2α pada hari pertama, diikuti injeksi PGF2α pada hari ke-11. Pengamatan dilakukan pada hari ke-12. Kelompok ketiga diinjeksi dengan PGF2α pada hari pertama dan pengamatan dilakukan pada hari ke-8. Ternak di inseminasi buatan (IB) setelah terlihat tanda-tanda estrus dengan straw 0.5 ml dari BIB Tuah Sakato.  Data di analisis dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Peubah yang diukur adalah kecepatan estrus, lama estrus, intensitas estrus, persentase estrus dan persentase kebuntingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan kombinasi hormon GnRH + PGF2α pada kerbau rawa di Kuansing menghasilkan persentase kebuntingan tertinggi (100%), estrus lebih cepat (53.67 jam), 100% estrus, dengan lama estrus 13.5 jam dan score intensitas estrus tertinggi (+++). Kesimpulan; sinkronisasi menggunakan GnRH dan PGF2α terbaik meningkatkan angka kebuntingan kerbau rawa di Kuansing.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menge­tahui waktu ekuilibrasi yang terbaik semen kerbau menggunakan pengencer andromed dan mengetahui nilai membran plasma utuh semen kerbau dalam larutan hipoosmotik pada waktu pemeraman yang berbeda. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua tahap; Tahap pertama menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perla­kuan terdiri dari waktu ekuilibrasi 3 jam, 4 jam dan 5 jam. Parameter yang diukur adalah motilitas, sperma hidup dan abnormalitas. Penelitian tahap kedua menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dua faktor dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah waktu ekuilibrasi yang terdiri dari 3 jam, 4 jam dan 5 jam. Faktor kedua adalah waktu pencampuran semen dengan larutan hipoosmotik yang terdiri 15 menit, 30 menit dan 45 menit. pengencer yang digunakan Andromed(R) (Minitue Germany, 13503/0200). Param­eter yang diukur adalah persentase membran plasma utuh semen kerbau. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan bahwa waktu ekuilibrasi terbaik adalah 4 jam dan 5 jam dengan nilai motilitas 62,8-63,7%, sperma hidup 66,7-66,8% dan persentase abnormalitas 10,5-11,2%. Waktu HOS test yang terbaik adalah 45 menit dan waktu ekuilibrasi 5 jam dengan nilai MPU (64,7 : 57,7%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah waktu ekuilibrasi semen kerbau menggunakan pengencer andromed adalah 5 jam dengan waktu pemeraman dalam larutan hipoosmotik adalah 45 menit.  (Semen quality of buffalo at different equilibration and incubation period in hipoosmotic solution of swelling TEST) ABSTRACT The aimed of this study was to find out the best equilibration time of buffalo semen used andromed diluents and the optimal time to test the integrity of plasma membrane of buffalo semen using a hypoosmotic swelling test (HOS test). This study consists of two stages; the first step was used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were equilibration time of 3 hours, 4 hours and 5 hours. The parameters measured were motility, live sperm, and abnormalities. The second stage of the study used a two-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replications. The first factor was the equilibration time of 3 hours, 4 hours and 5 hours. The second factor was the time of semen mixing with a hypoosmotic solution of 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 45 minutes. diluents used by Andromed(R) (Minitube Germany, 13503/0200). The parameters measured were the percentage of the integrity of the plasma membrane of buffalo semen. The results showed that the best equilibration time was 4 hours and 5 hours with motility values 62.8-63.7%, live sperm 66.7-66.8% and percentage abnormalities 10.5-11.2%. The best HOS test time is 45 minutes and the equilibration time is 5 hours with MPU value (64.7: 57.7%). The conclusion of the research is that the equilibration time of buffalo semen using andromed diluents was 5 hours with the mixing time in the hypoosmotic solution being 45 minutes.

Abstract

Pertambahan penduduk akan berdampak kepada kebutuhan manusia yang semakin meningkat sehingga terjadi persaingan kebutuhan bahan makanan untuk ransum ternak maupun makanan manusia.  Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan usaha-usaha untuk mencari bahan-bahan ransum yang mudah didapat, dalam jumlah yang cukup, memiliki kandungan gizi yang cukup untuk kebutuhan ternak dan tidak bersaing dengan kebutuhan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat performans ayam broiler yang diberi tambahan tepung keong mas dalam ransum standar pada fase starter.  Performans yang diamati meliputi konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum, dan pertambahan berat badan.  Sampel yang digunakan adalah 60 ekor DOC (Day Old Chicken) strain Loughmann MB 202 dengan pemeliharaan selama 14 hari.  Menggunakan ransum standar komersil.  Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 perlakuan yaitu ransum standar + 0% tepung keong mas (kontrol), ransum standar + 2% tepung keong mas, dan ransum standar + 4% tepung keong mas dengan air minum masing-masing diberikan secara ad libitum. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan.  Setiap ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekor ayam broiler.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan tepung keong mas dalam ransum standar sampai taraf 4% berpengaruh sangat nyata (P < 0,01) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan, dan angka konversi ransum

Abstract

Data was collected using sample accidental methode on 130 and 41msemmated Peslslr and Ball cows respectively. The data was analyzed using t and z tests. .. The. result ~ho.wed that the first se,rvice after calving rate and the calving interval ofPesisir and Bali cows weredl~e~ent highly. slgruficant but the calvmg rate are different significantly. The first service after calving rate ofPeslslr .and Balt cows are 268.7~ and 211.86 days, and the calving interval of the are 545.12 and 500.63 days. respectively. Furthermore the calvmg rate ofthem are 73.07% and 50% and the pregnant periode are 277.39 and 278 days respectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine reproductive efficiency, population dynamics, natural increase and estimated output of the Kuantan cattle in the Kuansing Regency, Province of Riau. A total of 311 Kuantan cattle and 99 Kuantan cattle farmers were used in this study through a survey study. Respondent samples were taken from seven districts. Data sampling using purposive sampling with survey methods. Data collection was carried out by interviewing farmers and observing and was analyzed descriptively. Parameters measured were reproductive efficiency, natural increase, estimated output and population dynamics of Kuantan cattle. Results showed that the reproductive efficiency of Kuantan cattle was 1.04%, natural increase 5.14%, the balance of male and female 1: 5, the value of male NRR 50% and female NRR 100.56%, total cattle out 18.69% and total incoming cattle 18.69%, output value 48.88% and estimated population dynamics 2.85%. In conclusion, Kuantan cattle reproduction has not been efficient with the natural increase of the Kuantan cattle was very low, and the replacement stock availability for male and female cattle has not been fulfilled. It is recommended not to release Kuantan cattle in the next 5 years to maintain population balance.
