Abstract

Problem in this research was the low result of student learning. The aim of this research were to develop LKPD based PBL and to determine the effectiveness of LKPD in improving student learning outcomes in thematic lesson The theme of Our Friends Environment. This research was a research development (R D). The population was 236 students of fifth class in Badarudin Group and the sample is 30 fifth class s students . The result of the research showed that: (1) the validation result by the material expert is 90,90, the media expert is 92,71 and the teacher equal to 91,52 which all are classified as very suitable category (2) The result of gain score of experimental group is 0.7 in the high category and for control class is 0.5 in medium category. that it is known that the results of student learning using LKPD PBL better than student learning outcomes that use conventional teaching materials.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis PBL serta mengetahui efektifitas LKPD dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tematik Tema Lingkungan Sahabat Kita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (RD). Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 236 siswa kelas 5 gugus Badarudin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) hasil validasi oleh ahli materi sebesar 90,90, ahli media sebesar 92,71 dan guru sebesar 91,52, ketiganya tergolong dalam kategori sangat sesuai digunakan untuk siswa kelasV (2) hasil uji gain skor kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,7 masuk kategori tinggi dan hasil uji gain skor kelas kontrol 0,5 masuk dalam kategori sedang. Sehingga diketahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan LKPD PBL lebih baik dibandingkan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar konvensional.Kata kunci : Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik, Problem Based Learning, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

Plants from Ixora genus exhibit a variety of pharmacological activities including antioxidant, antibacterial, and antitumor activities. This plants may contain many interesting bioactive compounds, especially phenolics and terpenoids groups. Ixora cumingiana is one of the Ixora species whose pharmacological effect has not been explored comprehensively. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of eight extracts from bark and leaf of I. cumingiana. The plant samples were successively extracted using n-hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and methanol. The antibacterial evaluation was carried out against Staphylococcus aureus and the antioxidant activity was evaluated using a radical scavenging assay against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Initial activity screening was performed using thin layer chromatography-bioautography followed by the determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the determination of antioxidant activity index (AAI) using microdilution technique. The dichloromethane extract of the bark as well as the n-hexane and dichloromethane extract of the leaf of I. cumingiana exhibited moderate antibacterial effect with MIC value of 128, 128, and 256 µg/ml, respectively. The methanol extract from the bark displayed a strong antioxidant activity (AAI = 1.5±0.13) and possessed the highest total phenolic content (43±0.91 mg AGE/ g extract). These experimental results showed that I. cumingiana is potential to be developed as an antioxidant agent rather than as an antibacterial agent.

Abstract

Bisanthraquinones (+) - 2,2'-epicytoskyrin A and (+) -1,1'bislunatin produced by the endophytic fungus Diaporthe sp. GNBP-10 showed potent antibacterial activity on in-vitro test and have the opportunity to become new antibiotics candidates. The aspects of safety and toxicity of drug candidates have to be examined before applying to human. This study was conducted to determine the safety aspects of the compounds through acute oral toxicity testing in mice (Mus musculus). Acute toxicity of (+) - 2,2'-epicytoskyrin A and (+) - 1,1'-bislunatin evaluated by the method of Up and Down Procedure with limit test at a dose of 2000 mg / kg. Results of acute toxicity test showed that the LD50 of (+) - 2,2'-epicytoskyrin A and (+) - 1,1'-bislunatin were of 1638.87 mg / kg and > 2000 mg / kg respectively. Administration of (+)- 2,2'-epicytoskyrin A resulted in increased miliari multifocal hepatitis, fatty degeneration and necrosis of liver cells, and the renal tubule epithelial degeneration. Administration of (+) - 1,1'-bislunatin at a dose of 2000 mg / kg resulted in multifocal accumulation of inflammatory cells in the liver and degeneration of cells in the islets of Langerhans although not resulting in death. The administration of those compounds indicated the changes in the organs, but based on the UN/ECE classification of LD50 value showed that (+) 2,2'- epicytoskyrin A and (+) -1,1'-bislunatin included as low acute toxicity substance.

Abstract

Studies on the therapeutic use of insects and insect products have been neglected compared to the use of other animals or plants.This study aims to determine the antibacterial and antioxidant potential of ants extracts. Preliminary study related to antibacterial and antioxidant screeningof 17 extracts of ant colonies that belongs to 8 species were performed by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)-Bioautography. Antioxidant activity was measured by DPPH free radical scavenging method. The antibacterial activity was done against three pathogenic bacteria, i.e Bacillus subtilis InaCC B-1, Staphylococcus aureus InaCC B-4 and Escherichia coli InaCC B-5 were performed by non-eluted TLC-autobiography assay. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and IC50 values of DPPH radical scavenging activity of active extracts were determined by microdilution in 96-well microplate. The results showed 6 extracts active against B.subtilis, 5 extracts active against S.aureus. The lowest MIC value was 512 µg/ ml.  Ten extracts had the antioxidant activity with various IC50 values. The extracts of ants might be used as bioactive resources for antibacterial and antioxidant.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman hayati yang tinggi baik hewan, tumbuhan, maupun mikroorganisme. Diaporthe sp. merupakan jamur endofit yang hidup pada tumbuhan gambir. Jamur ini dapat memproduksi metabolit sekunder yang bernama (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A. Senyawa tersebut memiliki kemampuan sebagai antimikrobia terutama terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri penyebab infeksi terbesar di dunia. Asia merupakan benua dengan kejadian methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) tertinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek dari (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A terhadap hati mencit yang terinfeksi S. aureus. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor mencit jantan. Mencit dibagi menjadi enam kelompok perlakuan. Perlakuan pertama merupakan kontrol negatif (tanpa perlakuan), kelompok kedua sebagai kontrol positif (perlakuan S. aureus kelompok ketiga diinjeksi S. aureus dan dicekok (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A dosis 50 mg/kg BB (P1), kelompok keempat diinjeksi S. aureus dan dicekok (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A dosis 100 mg/kg BB (P2) dan kelompok kelima diinjeksi dengan S. aureus kemudian dicekok (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A dosis 200 mg/kg BB (P3). Hewan uji dinekropsi dan dikoleksi hatinya untuk histologi. Hasil pemeriksaan histopatologis memperlihatkan adanya peradangan pada hati semua perlakuan kecuali kontrol negatif. Dosis efektif (+)-2,2’-Episitoskirin A yang dapat mengurangi tingkat peradangan akibat infeksi S. aureus adalah 50 mg/kg BB.

Abstract

Pengobatan tradisional merupakan suatu bentuk kearifan lokal yang patut diberi perhatian  khusus untuk dilestarikan. Mengingat praktik pengobatan ini sudah mulai tergeser oleh pengobatan moderen.  Oleh karena itu,   penelitian ini dilakukan betujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan makna leksikon obat dalam praktik pengobatan tradisional masyarakat Sumbawa Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu pendekatan kualitatif. Wujud data penelitian ini berupa informasi lisan dan dokumen yang didapatkan dari informan yang merupakan penduduk asli Sumbawa, maka data tersebut diambil dengan metode dokumen, dan wawancara.Data yang akan diperoleh selanjutnya diabsahkan dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Selanjutnya dianalisis dengan teknik penganlisisan yang dikembangkan oleh Miles dan Huberman. Dari hasil analisis data,  pengelompokan  obat tradisional Sumbawa dikelompkan kedalam tiga kelompok, yaitu (1) obat bahan dari tanaman dan atau rempah, (2) hewan, dan (3) doa. Bentuk obat berbahan   tubuh-tumbuhan memiliki 10 istilah, yaitu (1) ai angat, (2) pegal, (3), semek (4) temar, (5)parapa (6) keramas, (7) apis, (9) lalap, dan (10) minyak lala. Selanjutnya, obat berbahan hewan tidak memiliki istilah khusus, beberapa  hewan yang digunakan sebagai bahan obat-obatan, yaitu  kelelawar, kuda, tokek atau cicak, belut, rusa, dan kambing. Sementara obat  berupadoa yang digunakan menggunakan bahasa arab yang sebagian berumber dari Al-Quran

Abstract

The discovery and development of medicinal plants from plants is interesting to study, including as an antioxidant and antibacterial agents for human health. This research is motivated by global problems related to degenerative diseases and antibiotic resistance which continue to increase. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of medicinal plants collected from Karimun Island, Riau Islands. Ten ethanolic plant extracts consisting of leaves, stems, roots, and rhizomes were extracted using the maceration method. In the antioxidant test, the methods used were TLC Bioautography and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging. The results showed that 10 samples were active in reducing DPPH free radical. Quantitative test with DPPH showed 5 samples, namely stems of Dendrophthoe pentandra (Host: Timonius flavescens), roots of Ximenia americana, leaves and stems of Dendrophthoe pentandra (Host: Mangifera indica), and leaves of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, have a very strong antioxidant activity with AAI values​of 8.32, 4.03, 2.68, 3.90, and 3.39, consecutively. The method used for the antibacterial test was TLC Bioautography and Microdilution against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. A total of 7 extracts inhibited the growth of S. aureus. In a further test to determine the value of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaf extract showed a moderate antibacterial activity with a MIC value of 128 μg/ml. It can be concluded that some plant extracts from Karimun Island, Riau Islands have the potential as a source of antioxidants and antibacterials. Abstract

Antibacterial activity of (+)-2,2'-epicytoskyrin A, a main metabolite from culture of fungal endophyte Diaporthe sp. GNBP-10, was investigated against several strains of Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria, and one strain of Mycobacterium smegmatis. (+)-2,2'-Epicytoskyrin A exhibited prominent activity against Staphylococcus aureus BCC 1452 with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 0.06 μg mL-1. The effect of (+)-2,2'-epicytoskyrin A treatment to S. aureus, resulted in alteration of bacterial cell membrane with an increase of cation efflux, while the cytoplasmic content was not leaked out and finally resulted in cell damage.
