Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur hasil belajar mahasiwa dengan menggunakan  platform Schoology, Canvas, dan Quizlet  sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis blended learning. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Riau Kepulauan. Penelitian ini menggunakan  experiment dengan desain pretest-postest. Populasi penelitiannya adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 6 yang berjumlah 78 orang yang  mengambil mata kuliah ERM, dan sampelnya dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Variable penelitian  terdiri atas 3 variabel bebas (X1, X2, X3) dan 1 variabel terikat (Y). Instrument yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis, yang telah di uji validitas dan reabilitasnya.Selanjutnya data penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistic menggunakan uji ANOVA satu arah. Hasil penelitian ini (1) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa menggunakan Schoology berbasis blended learning yang dibuktikan dengan selisih rata-rata skor hasil belajar pretest dan posttes mahasiswa sebesar 8.24. (2) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa menggunakan Quizlet berbasis blended learning, dibuktikan dengan selisih skor hasil belajar pretest dan posttest sebesar 19,96 poin. (3) peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa menggunakan  Canvas berbasis blended learning yang dapat dibuktikan dengan selisih skor hasil belajar mahasiswa sebesar 10.41.(4) terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan menggunakan platform  LMS yang berbeda yang dapat disimpulkan dari hasil  F hitung (3.585) lebih besar dari F tabel (3.150) dan nilai Sig 0.033 yang lebih  kecil dari 0.050. Namun demikian  platform LMS yang paling baik dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa adalah  platformQuizlet. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan tabel Post Hoc yang membandingkan perbedaan rata-rata skor hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan menggunakan platform Schoology, Quizlet, dan Canvas.

Abstract

The present study aims to analyze the Teachers’ Policy in designing English teaching syllabus at grade XI of SMAN 2 Batam. In addition to analyzing the way the teachers design their syllabus, the researcher also analyzed the problems faced by the teachers in designing the English teaching syllabus. The participants of this study were 3 English teachers who were teaching class XI of SMAN 2 Batam. The data were obtained from the interview and observation. The Supporting instruments used in this research were tape recorder, and camera. The data were analyzed through, data managing, reading and memoing, describing, classifying, and interpreting. Based on the findings, the three English teachers had followed the steps of syllabus design suggested in BSNP (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan or The Council of National Education Standard 2006) with respect to adapting each component of the syllabus with the teaching and learning context. It can also be concluded from the findings that the three English teachers still needed to get themselves familiar with some of the kinds of evaluation necessary for assessing a learning process. On the other hand, Most of the problems faced by the teachers in designing the English teaching syllabus were first not being able to accomplish the relationship between each components of the syllabus with the first component namely the standard competency and basic competency. The second problem was the three English teachers did not have sufficient knowledge on how to sequence the order of the difficulty level of the lesson as well as finding appropriate materials that suit their students’ need. The third problem they had was they were not familiar with some types of evaluation which are very helpful in assessing a learning process. And the last problem they faced was managing time allocation. A lot of the time they were not able to finish and complete a lesson within one period of a school term due to the lack of time.Keywords: teachers’ policy and English teaching syllabus

Abstract

Effect of iron (ferric citrate) on 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) reduction in yeast Candida tropicalis was investigated. Reduction of MTT in yeast grown in YMB media containing 5 mM of ferric citrate decreased significantly compared to that of yeast grown containing 0, or 1.25 or 2.5 mM ferric citrate after 24 h incubation. However, there was no difference in cell density among cultures treated with 0 mM, 1.25 mM, and 5 mM ferric citrate. Ferric citrate of 5 mM caused smaller colony when cells were grown on YPDG media. Reduction of MTT in smaller colony cells was weaker than that of with normal size colony. An antioxidant, Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) of 0.01 % could not reverse MTT reduction caused by 5 mM ferric citrate. Since enzymes responsible in MTT reduction are usually located in mitochondrion, the data suggested that, in the condition of 5 mM ferric citrate might cause mitochondrion disorder without killing the yeast cells. The data was in concordance with other studies on other yeast or human cells. However, this study does not show role of free radicals provoked by high level of iron concentration.

Abstract

Squirrel cage induction motors are widely used in electric motor drives due to their satisfactory mechanical characteristics (torque, current, overloading) and small dimensions, as well as their low price. When starting an induction motor, a large current is required for magnetizing its core, which results in a low power factor, rotor power losses and a temperature rise in the windings. None of these parameters should reach values beyond certain limits until the motor reaches nominal speed.The speed of an induction motor 1,1kW is affected very little by fluctuations of voltage. The greater the supply voltage of the motor, the induction motors speed will increase. The torque values (Tstart, TSmax and Tmax) are affected by the value of the motor supply voltage: (Vp-nl :  132.8, Tstart1 : 7.4, T S-max1 : 0.4, Tmax1 : 9.9) V, (Vp-nl :  127.0, Tstart2 : 4.8, T S-max1 : 0.3, Tmax1 : 8.4) V and (Vp-nl :  121.3, Tstart3 : 3.3, T S-max3 : 0.2, Tmax3 : 7.1) V. Stator current (IL-nl ; 2.5, 2.2, 1.9 ) Amp rises gradually on account of the increase in magnetising current (Im : 2.5, 2.2, 1.9) Amp. The magnetising current required to produce the stator flux. The component of the stator current which provides the ampere-turns balancing the rotor ampere-turns will steadily diminish as the rotor current (IL-nl) decrease with the increase in rotor speed (nr).

Abstract

Kondisi ideal transformator tidak mengalami rugi-rugi, karena perbandingan kumparan merupakan perbandingan tegangan dan secara praktek, daya masuk trafo tidak sama dengan daya keluaran, karena terjadi rugi-rugi inti besi dan kumparan. Transformator dapat dimodelkan dengan rangkaian ekivalen, nilai parameter didapat dengan melakukan uji rangkaian tanpa beban dan uji rangkaian hubung singkat. Drop tegangan parameter Rc dan Xm uji rangkaian tanpa beban sebesar 13,8 V.dan 17,2 V, dan uji hubung singkat, diabaikan, karena tegangan yang terukur merupakan tegangan di Zeq. Parameter L meningkat di uji hubung singkat, secara bertahap tegangan primer diturunkan dari 16 V , 14 V, 12 V, dengan nilai L berturut-turut sebesar 4,9315 mH, 13,6148 mH dan 53,7771 mH. Efesiensi dan regulation trafo turun akibat tegangan primer turun, terjadi perpotongan Efisiensi (4,6 kVA) dan regulation (4,5%) saat tegangan primer 195V. Pengujian tanpa beban, daya Poc dan Psc menurun, tegangan primer 190V terjadi titik pertemuan dengan nila L = 0,0152 mH dan pengujian hubung singkat pada tegangan 14 V dengan nilai L =  13,6148 mH

Abstract

Konsumsi energi listrik memberi dampak yang signifikan terhadap anggaran biaya yang harus dikeluarkan oleh Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis . Kurangnya perhatian dan kelalaian civitas Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis terhadap penggunaan konsumsi energi listrik menyebabkan membengkaknya tagihan listrik yang harus ditanggung Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis. Berbagai macam cara dilakukan manajemen Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dalam konsumsi energi, salah satu nya dengan mengaudit penggunaan energi listrik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan dangan memberikan presentasi tata cata penggunaan alat ukur power quality dan praktek lapangan di bengkel las Polbeng. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 14. perserta yang terdiri dari karyawan Akademi Komunitas Bengkalis dan staf dari UPT Perawatan dan Perbaikan Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis. Pelatihan audit energi yang dilaksanakan ini memberikan pengetahuan dan prinsip-prinsip dalam manajemen energi, mengetahui prosedur pelaksanaan program audit energi dan penghematan energi dan menjaga kestabilan operasional maupun proses perkuliahan dengan menerapkan penggunaan energi yang efisiensi.

Abstract

This research discusses the Arduino Uno based public street lighting intensity control system. The street lighting technology applied so far is still conventional technology that is classified as wasteful of energy because it still uses a continuous lighting system or an On-Off system. PJU problems arise because of too much power consumption caused by the use of large power lamps and lamp operating times. This research utilizes Arduino Uno and RTC to control the value of the variable voltage output transformer based on time division. This system has been able to control the voltage of 400 watt sodium lamps.  The output voltage of the transformer has been divided into three levels, namely level 1, level 2 and level 3. The division of this level is based on the operating time of the lights, namely level 1 at 1830 WIB to 2200 WIB, level 2 at 2201 WIB until 2359 WIB, level 3 at 0000 WIB until 0530 WIB. Transformer output voltage at level 1 can be 220 volts. The output voltage of the transformer at level 2 can be 210 volts. Transformer output voltage at level 3 can be 200 volts. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 1 is an average of 99.9 lux. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 2 is an average of 85.45 lux. The intensity of the 400 watt sodium lamp light at level 3 is an average of 78.6 lux.

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) know whether or not cognitive strategy can increase students’ skill in writing descriptive texts, and (2) know what factors can influence the increasing of those writing skills. This research categorized as action research which conducted in two cycles. Each cyles consisted of four times meeting. Each of them composed of plan, action, observation, dan reflection. The participant in this research was all 22 students of VII-2 SMPN I Indra Praja Tembilahan. The data was collected from (1) Observation sheet; students, teacher, lesson procedures/plan, (2) Field note, (3) Interview, and (4) Writing test. It was found in this research that the use of cognitive strategy can increase students’ skill in writing descriptive texts. The finding of this research shown that there was an increasing of students’ mean score above minimum criteria of minimum learning mastery standard (75).The factors that influenced students’ skill in writing descriptive text were (1) reading material given to students,(2) students’ motivation, and (3) teachers’ approach to students. It can be concluded that the application of cognitive strategy in teaching reading descriptive texts gave positive results shown by the increasing of students’ skill in reading descriptive texts.
