Abstract

Effect of Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) in ration of beef cattle on average daily gain (ADG) was studied on November 10th, 2015 up to December 09th, 2015 at Pulung Kencana village, Tulang Bawang Tengah, Subdistrict, Provinsi Tulang Bawang Barat.  The experimental design used was complete randomized block design with three treatments P0 (basal diet), P1 (basal diet + 10% MNS), and P2 (Unila diet + 10% MNS). Result of this research indicated that ADG of beef cattle for P0, P1, P2 was 1,28 kg/head/day; 1,56 kg/head/day; 1,26 kg/head/day, respectively. Average of ration consumption based on dry matter were 9,08 kg/head/day; 9,24 kg/head/day; 9,11 kg/head/day, respectively. Efficiency of ration were 0,1403±0,0180 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1687±0,0234 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1385±0,0271 kg weight/kg ration,  respectively. Income over feed cost (IOFC) were 2,76 ; 3,24 ; 3,18, respectively. It could be concluded that addition of 10% MNS in ration of beef cattle didn’t affect (P>0,05) on ADG, ration consumption, efficiency of ration, and IOFC. Abstract

Body weight of cattle would be lose about 10-30% during transportation because of stress. The condition affected on cattle business. Vitamin C could reduce stress, so it’s assumed that vitamin C treatment could reduce weight lost during transportation. An operation research was done on May up to August, 2014 to evaluate the effect of  vitamin C treatment on weight lost of during transportation from Lampung Province to Bengkulu Province.. Two group of cattle were observed in this research, 60 heads of the first group got 500 mg vitamin C treatment and 60 heads as control. Varibale observed were body weight of cattle before and after transportation. Quarrel between body weight before and after transportation were weight lost. Weight lost of cattle of the treatment group and the control group were analysed by t tests. This research indicated that weight lost of  treatment group were not different with control group (P>0,05).It could be concluded that 500 mg vitamin C had not reduced yet stress condition of cattle during transportation. It was suggested to increase dose of vitamin C in the next research. Keywords : Vitamin C, transportation, and weight lost.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) ERO II in the ration on feed consumption and average daily gain of beef cattle.  The research was conducted October 30th, 2015 - December 6th, 2015 at Ngudi Makmur farmer group, Mulyo Asri village, Tulang Bawang Tengah district, Tulang Bawang Barat regency. Samples ration was analysed at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Science.  Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The experimental design used was a randomized block design (CRD) with three treatments and four blocks. The treatments were: 1. Basal diet; 2. Basal diet + 10% MNS; and 3. Unila diets + 10% MNS. Result of experiment showed that the addition of MNS ERO II significantly affected (P<0.05) on consumption, and average daily gain of beef cattle. Abstract

The purpose of the resarch was knowing characteristic and composition carcass of  krui cattle on Pesisir Barat Region, Lampung Province. This reserch was hold on June-July 2016, abaout characteristic like body weigh, carcass percentage, skin percentage, and kidney pelpic heart fat percentage, and composition carcass like  fat percentage, bone percentage, meat percentage, meat bone ratio, and meat fat ratio. The result of reserch refers to descriptive analisisc on average from body weigh on male krui cattle is 220,28 kg and female krui cattle 180,26 kg, carcass percentage  on male krui cattle is 48,09% and female krui cattle 44,47%, skin precentage on male krui cattle 6,47% and famale krui cattle 7,02%, percentage of kidney pelpic heart fat on male krui cattle is 0.86% and famele 0,92%, fat percentege of male krui cattle is 5,58% and female 5,28%, bone precentage of male krui cattle is 13,66% and famale 13,44%, maet precentage of male krui cattle is 34,43% and famale krui cattle 31,01%.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati catatan kinerja pertumbuhan kambing kambing Saburai tahun 2013 sampai 2015 di wilayah sumber bibit kambing Saburai, Kecamatan Sumberejo, Kabupaten Tanggamus, Provinsi Lampung. Tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan sistem pemuliabiakan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan generasi keturunannya. Tujuan tersebut dicapai melalui estimasi heritabilitas (h2) dan ripitabilitas (r) kinerja pertumbuhan (bobot dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh pada saat lahir, sapih, dan umur satu tahun). Nilai h2 diestimasi melalui metode korelasi saudara tiri sebapak, ripitabilitas (r) diestimasi melalui metode korelasi dalam kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai h2 dan r kinerja pertumbuhan pada saat lahir,  sapih, dan umur satu tahun masing-masing termasuk kelas sedang. Nilai h2 pada saat lahir (bobot badan (BB) 0,10, tinggi badan (TB) 0,11, panjang badan (PB) 0,13, lingkar dada (LD) 0,12, tinggi pinggul (TP) 0,14) dan nilai r saat lahir (BB 0,12, TB 0,16, PB 0,14, LD 0,14, TP 0,16) paling rendah. Nilai h2 pada umur sapih (BB 0,16, TB 0,15, PB 0,16, LD 0,17, TP 0,17) dan nilai r pada umur sapih (BB 0,16, TB 0,15, PB 0,16, LD 0,17, TP 0,17) lebih tinggi daripada saat lahir. Nilai h2 umur satu tahun (BB 0,18, TB 0,17, PB 0,16, LD 0,18, TP 0,19) dan nilai r umur satu tahun (BB 0,21, TB 0,22, PB 0,22, LD 0,21, TP 0,21) paling tinggi. Disimpulkan bahwa seleksi individu pada kinerja pertumbuhan umur sapih dan umur satu tahun merupakan sistem pemuliabiakan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan kambing Saburai. Abstract

The aims of research to determine the physical quality of primal carcass female krui cattle in KabupatenPesisir Barat Lampung. This research was conducted on April until May 2017 in Pesisir Barat District Lampung. The sample used is 4 female kruicattle.  The research variables are water holding capacity, cooking loss and pH. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the examination of 4 female kruicattles with the primal parts of brisket, loin, and round carcasses were average pH values, that is brisket (5.77), loin (5.37), round (5.40); value of  WHC  (Water Holding Capacity), that is  brisket (44.40%), loin (56.46%), and round (49.16%); the average value of cooking loss that is brisket (31.76%), loin (47.01%), and round (36.93%). Key words: female krui cattle, meat physical quality, Pesisir Barat District

Abstract

Research was conducted to determine the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of PO cattle and Simpo cattle males in permanent teeth 2 at District Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. Research was conducted on 100 PO cattles and 100 Simpo cattles, sample observation is determined by purposive sampling.  Research used survey method from August to October 2016. The results of research at District Terbanggi Besar showed the quantitative characteristic of PO cattle in permanent teeth 2 trait body weight (340,36±46,21 kg), chest circumference (154,84±9,51cm), body length (111,94±4,46cm), and shoulder height (127,48±4,05cm) had significant differences with Simpo cattle in permanent teeth 2 on average weight body (387,48±46,43kg), chest circumference (167,80±7,98cm), body length (117,54±7,00cm), and shoulder height (130,46±3,46cm) at District Terbanggi Besar. Qualitative characteristic such as skin color Simpo cattle in permanent teeth 2 are brown white (62%), white brown black (14%), white black (24%), sagged (100%), humped (52%), no hump (48% ), horns (52%), and no horns (48%). Keywords: PO Cattle, Simpo Cattle, qualitative and quantitative characteristics, body weight, and body measurements.

Abstract

The aim of the research to know correlation size between body weight and body dimensions in male Ongole Crossbreed cattle of age 7—12 months. This research was held in July—August 2018 on Ongole Breeding Centre at Wawasan Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency The research used survey method. Data collection was done by taking measurement body weight and body dimension on male Ongole Crossbreed Cattle of age 7—12 month from 30 head Ongole Crossbreed cattle at 4 farmer groups in Wawasan Village. Data were doing based on groups analyzed using correlation analysis. The highest value of quantitative perfomance is Marga Jaya IV livestock groups (body weight 110.5±17.62 kg, body length 95.66±10.69 cm, chest size 124.5±9.35 cm, back height 113.16±8.81 cm, head width 18.33±1.03 cm, head length 42.16±2.31 cm), while the lowest value of quantitative perfomance in Bumi Asih Sejahtera livestock groups (body weight 93.75±19.86 kg, body length 90.37±14.33 cm, chest size 114.87±11.26 cm, back height 107.5±11.80 cm, head width 16.87±2.58 cm, head length 38.87±6.03 cm). The result showed the correlation in Wawasan Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency it was 0,72. Abstract

An experiment was conducted on 100 heads of Boerawa doe mated with male Boer. The parameters perceived were pregnancy periode, litter size, and birth weight. The study was undertaken at Boerawa goat development area Kecamatan Gisting Kabupaten Tanggamus. The data were analysed in SPSS versi 10. The results showed that pregnancy periode 159,31 + 4,37 days, litter size 1,62 + 0,65 heads, and birth weight 3.02 + 029 kg. Keywords: boerawa goat, pregnancy periode, litter size, birth weight

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian limbah singkong terhadap performa kambing PE jantan (konsumsi, pertambahan bobot tubuh, konversi, dan efisiensi ransum). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kandang Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung  pada Mei sampai dengan Agustus 2018.  Percobaan in vivo dilakukan pada 12 ekor kambing PE jantan, dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu R0: ransum basal + 30% onggok basah tidak terolah, R1: ransum basal + 30% onggok terfermentasi dengan ragi tape, R2: R1+ 15% daun singkong (sumber asam amino bercabang / brand chain fatty acids ), dan R3: R2 + mineral mikro organik (Zn, Cu, Se, Cr). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menghitung rataan tiap perlakuan untuk menentukan pengaruh jenis ransum yang terbaik terhadap masing—masing parameter, dan analisis data yang dilakukan dengan Analisis of Varians (Anova) untuk analisis ragam yang berbeda nyata pada (P>0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan pemberian ransum R2 memiliki hasil rata-rata tertinggi dengan meningkatkan bobot tubuh sebesar 0,15 kg/ekor/hari, konversi sebesar 13,03, dan efisiensi sebesar 7,83 serta konsumsi ransum dalam BK sebesar 1,98 kg/hari. Pemberian ransum R0 memiliki hasil terendah dengan hanya meningkatkan bobot tubuh sebesar 0,11 kg/ekor/hari, konversi sebesar 18,55, dan efisiensi sebesar 5,48 serta konsumsi ransum dalam BK sebesar 1,96 kg/hari.
