Abstract

This paper discusses on the static stability performance of a fishing vessel operated static fishing gear. A fishing boat named as KM PSP 01 was chosen as an object of this research. The objectives of this research were to analyze the static stability performance and work comfortability aboard the vessel. The result showed that KM PSP 01 was good enough for operating static fishing gear, the static stability of the boat is considered to be good with enough righting arm to upright the boat after roll to certain maximum angle. Hull of the boat considered as slim. Short rolling period i.e. 3.467 sec. considered as not so comfortable for working on deck but still safe in fishing operation.

Abstract

PSP 01 is a training-fishing vessel that was built in a traditional dock yard in Palabuhanratu, so it was not completed with design drawings and stability calculation. This paper discusses on determining the vessel’s suitability of design and stability condition followed by redesign of main dimension to obtain more optimal design. Simulation carried out in various load conditions and different vessel sizes to get the considerably ideal size of the vessel. The main dimension ratio and coefficient of fineness analysis showed that the vessel was appropriate as multipurpose vessel for fishing activities. Stability condition of the vessel either empty or in existing load condition met the criteria recommended by IMO with a maximum GZ was 0.33 m and an initial GM was 0.64 m. To improve the stability and fish hold capacity, the breadth and depth needed to be increased. The redesign resulted an alternative size ofmain dimensions which were LOA = 14.30 m; B = 5.14 m; D = 2.12 m.Key words: design, fishing vessel, multipurpose, stability

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe use of capture technology is not environmentally friendly and low public awareness to restore the Mud crab (Scylla sp.) that still poses a threat to small crab in natural resource conservation. The use of a gap for passage of the mud crab trap folding is one of the fishing technology innovations that will increase the size of crabs caught making it more environmentally friendly. This study aims to determine the size, shape and position of mounting an effective escape gap on collapsible traps for mud crabs that have not passed a decent catch. The method used was a laboratory experiment conducted on Fisheries Department UNTIRTA using escape gap is 2 boxes (50x50) mm and rectangular (60x36) mm mounted on the top and bottom position of the mouth traps. The results showed that the folding rectangular traps more effective mud crab that has not passed a decent escape capture by the percentage reaches 65%. Position mounting a more effective escape gap is at the bottom position of the mouth traps with crab escape frequency percentage of 54%.Key words: collapsible trap, escape gap, fishing technology, mud crab-------ABSTRAKPenggunaan teknologi penangkapan yang tidak ramah lingkungan dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk mengembalikan kepiting bakau yang masih berukuran kecil memberikan ancaman terhadap kelestarian sumberdaya kepiting di alam. Penggunaan celah pelolosan pada bubu lipat kepiting bakau merupakan salah satu inovasi teknologi penangkapan yang akan meningkatkan ukuran kepiting yang tertangkap sehingga lebih ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan ukuran, bentuk dan posisi pemasangan celah pelolosan yang efektif pada bubu lipat untuk meloloskan kepiting bakau yang belum layak tangkap. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah percobaan laboratorium yang dilakukan di Jurusan Perikanan UNTIRTA dengan menggunakan 2 celah pelolosan yaitu kotak (50x50) mm dan persegi panjang (60x36) mm yang dipasang pada posisi atas dan bawah mulut bubu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bubu lipat berbentuk persegi panjang lebih efektif meloloskan kepiting bakau yang belum layak tangkap dengan persentase pelolosan mencapai 65%. Posisi pemasangan celah pelolosan yang lebih efektif adalah pada posisi bawah mulut bubu dengan persentase pelolosan mencapai 54%.Kata kunci: bubu lipat, celah pelolosan, teknologi penangkapan, kepiting bakau

Abstract

ABSTRACTInnovation of LED lamp are encouraged the research and development to obtain effective and eco-friendly fishing lamp. However, information about response, behaviour and retina adaptation of main target species to LED light are still limited. Meanwhile, this information is a key to determining intensity of effective LED light for fishing operation. The aims of this study are to determine response and retina adaptation of anchovy (Stolephorus sp.) to different LED colour. This research was performed to the anchovies with total length 4.80-6.10 cm, which were acclimated in the fish tank. Fish response was observed visually and recorded by video camera. Retina adaptation was analysed by using histology method through pigment and cone index at light zone respectively. The results showed the fish response to white LED 3.4 times was faster than blue LED. However times duration of anchovy at the lighting area was 1.8 times longer in the area of blue lighting. The anchovies were more responsive to white LED (p value= 0.0033) with the average number of fish was 45 individuals. White LED with illumination between 42-96 lux was the optimal illumination for fishing operation which can reach the highest cone index about 64-73%.Keywords: cone index, effectiveness, fishing, illuminationABSTRAKPenemuan lampu LED mendorong berkembangnya penelitian untuk menghasilkan fishing lamp yang lebih efektif dan ramah lingkungan. Namun informasi tentang respons, tingkah laku dan adaptasi retina mata ikan target tangkapan terhadap cahaya lampu LED masih terbatas. Pada dasarnya, informasi tersebut menjadi kunci dalam penentuan intensitas cahaya lampu LED yang efektif untuk penangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan respons dan adaptasi retina mata ikan teri (Stolephorus sp.) terhadap lampu LED dengan warna berbeda. Penelitian menggunakan ikan teri dengan panjang total antara 4,80-6,10 cm yang telah melalui proses aklimatisasi dalam bak penampungan. Pengamatan terhadap respons ikan teri dilakukan secara visual dan direkam dengan video kamera. Adaptasi retina mata ikan teri diamati berdasarkan hasil histologi dengan melihat nilai indeks pigmen dan indeks kon pada masing-masing zona pencahayaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan teri 3,4 kali lebih cepat merespons lampu LED putih dibandingkan terhadap lampu LED biru. Namun ikan teri bertahan 1,8 kali lebih lama di area pencahayaan warna biru. Ikan teri lebih memberikan respons yang lebih baik pada LED putih (p value= 0,0033) dengan rata-rata jumlah ikan yang berkumpul di area pencahayaan sebanyak 45 ekor. Lampu LED warna putih dengan iluminasi cahaya antara 42-96 lux merupakan lampu paling ideal untuk penangkapan teri karena menghasilkan adaptasi sel kon paling tinggi dengan indeks kon antara 64-73%.Kata kunci:  indeks kon, efektivitas, penangkapan, iluminasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTFishing activity using light emitting diode (LED) on a fixed lift net in Banten Bay is equipped using blue and white LED as its attractor. The colour and intensity of the lighting affects the successful capture of the lift nets. The colour selection is influenced by the interaction of the fish as the target. The objective of this study is to determine the optimum colour and intensity for Yellowstripe Scad (Selaroides leptolepis) based on their behavioural response and light adaptation to different colours of green and white at three different intensities which are low (1.53 x 10-5 – 2.42 x 10-5 W/cm²), medium (5.39 x 10-5 – 7.60 x 10-5 W/cm²), and high (9.03 x 10-5 – 9.42 x 10-5 W/cm²). The behavioural response of the fish was conducted using a tank experiment to measure the preferences zone, the nearest neighbour distance (NND), and behavioural response pattern for different colours and light intensity.  Histological approach for each experimental light colour and intensity was used to investigate the retinal adaptations. The results showed that the schooling position of fish was dominant found in the bright zone (67%) for all colours and intensities. The average NND showed the tendency to gradually decrease with the increased light intensity. While, the cell cone index and swimming speed of fish were slightly increased with increasing intensity. The highest light adaptation was found in white LED at high intensity about 97.52%. The schooling pattern in the green LED indicated that the fish gradually swam closely and stable regularly to the neighbour with increasing light intensity. However, the fish swam widely and randomly in accordance to the increased white LED intensity. This information suggests that the green LED may be regarded as an excellent fishing light to control the behaviour in order to harvest the yellow stripe scad in lift net fishing.Keywords: colour, lift net, light, yellowstripe scad ABSTRAKEfisiensi aktivitas penangkapan ikan dengan menggunakan bagan tancap sangat ditentukan oleh penggunaan cahaya sebagai atraktornya. Ketepatan warna dan intensitas cahaya sangat menentukan keberhasilan operasional bagan tancap.  Penetapan warna dan intensitas cahaya yang tepat sangat dipengaruhi oleh respon yang dihasilkan oleh ikan target. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan warna dan intensitas cahaya lampu LED yang optimum untuk penangkapan ikan selar (Selaroides leptolepis) berdasarkan respons tingkah laku dan adaptasinya terhadap warna dan intensitas cahaya yang berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental di perairan Teluk Banten dengan target penangkapan adalah ikan selar (Selaroides leptolepis). Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua kelompok perlakuan yaitu warna dan intensitas cahaya. Perlakuan warna adalah dengan menggunakan lampu LED berwarna hijau dan putih. Adapun perlakuan intensitas cahaya adalah dengan menggunakan tiga intensitas cahaya yaitu intensitas rendah 1,53 x 10-5 – 2,42 x 10-5 W/cm²; sedang 5,39 x 10-5 – 7,60 x 10-5 W/cm²; tinggi 9,03 x 10-5 – 9,42 x 10-5 W/cm². Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan pengamatan terhadap respon ikan target dari famili Engraulidae dan Carangidae. Pengamatan respons tingkah laku dilakukan pada bak pengamatan untuk menentukan zona preferensi, nearest neighbor distance (NND) dan pola tingkah laku ikan terhadap warna dan intensitas berbeda. Adaptasi retina dianalisis secara histologi berdasarkan warna dan intensitas yang berbeda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian posisi schooling ikan dominan berada pada zona terang (67%) pada seluruh warna dan intensitas lampu LED. Nilai NND cenderung turun seiring dengan peningkatan intensitas cahaya, sedangkan indeks kon dan kecepatan renang semakin tinggi dengan penambahan intensitas cahaya yang diberikan. Nilai adaptasi tertinggi diperoleh pada penggunaan lampu LED putih dengan intensitas tinggi sebesar 97,52%. Pola tingkah laku ikan pada LED hijau semakin teratur dengan jarak semakin dekat seiring meningkatnya intensitas. Namun pola renang ikan cenderung acak dan semakin jauh pada LED putih. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa LED hijau lebih optimum untuk digunakan sebagai lampu pengumpul, pengkonsentrasi dan hauling pada penangkapan ikan selar dengan bagan tancap.Kata kunci: bagan, cahaya, warna, ikan selar (Selaroides leptolepis)

Abstract

Graphic is one of the most important industries in the world and also in Indonesia. Most of entire human life cannot be separated from graphic product. Newspaper, books, invitation, etc. are the part of it. But for the graphic industrial, graphic process still must be managed well for efficiency and effectively in order to decrease cost. For handling that problem we must develop good procedure, control the production and develop an information system based on computer to manage it. Abstract

The main objective of this research was to analyze the influence of bait and funnel constructions on the catch of deep sea pot in Palabuhanratu Bay. The experimental fishing used each of 5 units rigid and soft funnel of the deep sea pots filled with bait of shark and ray meat. The result showed that shark and ray baits did not have a significant influence on the weight of pots catch. The rigid and soft funnel constructions also did not have a significant influence on the catch. Therefore, both shark and ray baits used on the deep sea pots for catching fish at the depth of 200 m in Palabuhanratu Bay had the same effectiveness. The rigid funnel pot was a more suitable construction to catch fish, because it was easy to construct, relatively heavy and fast to sink, so it reduced the setting time.

Abstract

Teknologi biogas pada umumnya teknologi biogas yaitu memanfaatkan kandungan bahan organik untuk pertumbuhan mikro ganisme yang berpotensi untuk menghasilkan biogas. bahan baku utama pembuatan biogas ini mengunakan enceng gondok, kotoran sapi dan penambahan air dengan perbandingngan 25%:75%:5.Ltr, 75%:25%:5.Ltr, 50%,50%:5.Ltr, Pada pengujian awal mengunakan Galon 20 liter yang dilengkapi, thermometer,manometer dan ban untuk penampung gas. Berdasarkan dari pengujian selama 15 hari fermentasi perbandingan 25%:75%:5.Ltr, adalah komposisi dengan proses fermentasi tercepat dan tekanan gas tertinggi 900 Pa pada hari ke 6 . Pada pengujian Selanjutnya dengan menggunakan skala drum 200 liter dengan perbandingan 25%:75%:5.Ltr , pembentukan biogas terjadi pada hari pertama sampai hari ke 21 untuk pencapaiyan gas optimal terjadi pada hari ke 7 sebesar 10,000 Pa.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimanakah kondisi pengentasan wargamiskin yang ada di kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul, Kota Semarang ? 2) Bagaimanakahimplementasi kota layak anak di Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul, Kota Semarang ? 3)Bagaimanakah daya dukung pengentasan kemiskinan terhadap terwujudnya kota layakanak di Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul, Kota Semarang?Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif. Populasiwarga miskin yang terentaskan di 12 RW. Variabel penelitian tentang pengentasankemiskinan dan kota layak anak. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa : angket, dokumen,wawancara. Analisis datanya dengan analisis interaktif.Simpulan yang diperoleh :1. Di Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul, usahapengentasan kemiskinan belum berhasil, karena kriteria miskin masih beragam. Dalam halini perlu dilakukan penelitian secara seksama dengan kriteria yang jelas tentang definisimiskin. 2. Perwujudan kota layak anak belum berhasil karena aparat dan warga belum tahuistilah kota layak anak. Kondisi warga miskin lebih berpikir untuk memenuhi kebutuhanpokoknya. Walaupun demikian sudah ada kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan anak,pemberian fasilitas belajar, perhatian terhadap belajarnya, pelayanan anak dalam belajardemi masa depan. 3. Daya dukung pengentasan kemiskinan terhadap perwujudan kota layakanak di Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul belum diketahui secara jelas karena istilah kota layakanak belum diketahui. Di samping itu hasil pengentasan kemiskinan belum dapat diketahuikarena kriteria miskin masih bias. Jika dilihat dari kriteria pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan,sandang, papan, serta kebutuhan sekolah dasar, maka warga miskin belum terentaskan.Namun indikator ke arah perwujudan kota layak anak sudah ada pada warga, mereka inginmemberi bekal pendidikan pada anaknya untuk masa depannya, agar mereka memilikikepribadian, bermoral, dan mandiri.Kata Kunci : pengentasan kemiskinan, kota layak anak

Abstract

Utilization of light as artificial attractant has grown rapidly since electric lamp discovered. The use of energy saving lamp is one way to reduce operation costs, because almost all of the energy from generator is used to turn on the lights. The research aimed to analyze distribution of light illumination and fuel consumption of tubular lamp and LED lamp that can be used by fishermen in fishing operations. This study use 12.5 watts LED lamp and 24 watts tubular lamp each 5 pieces. Measurement of light illumination with a cover and without cover was conducted at distance 1 meter from the light source starts from the angle 0°-180° with angle 10° of intervals. Fuel consumption testing performed for 1 hour with 5 times repetition. The highest of light illumination of LED lamp without cover is 189 lux at angle 0°, while the tubular lamp is 152 lux at angle 40°. The highest of light illumination of LED lamp with cover is 236 lux at angle 0° and 10°, while the tubular lamp is 223 lux at angle 0°. Fuel consumption of LED lamp have average 405.16 ml for one hour, while 514.78 ml for tubular lamp. The average of electrical power was spent to turn on 5 LED lamp is 46.7 watts, while for 5 tubular lamp is 106.8 watts.
