Abstract

This study aimed to know the positive and significant relation  between students' perception of mathematics , interest in learning mathematics and autonomy  in learning mathematics individually or grups with the students’ achievement in learnig mathematics of the X grade students even semester at SMA N 1 Kretek academic year 2013/2014.The type of the study is quantitatif  with ex-post-fakco method which means after the occurance with the subjects of study were the student of grade X even semester of SMA N 1 Kretek in academic year 2013/2014. The number of the student was 75. The research instrument testing used simple regression analysis and partial correlation testing. The result of the study showed that there was significant and positive relation between students’ perseption mathematics learning, students’ interest in learning mathematics and autonomy in learning mathematics with the student’ mathematics achievement, seen from the value of tobs ≥ ttable, whilein geup it was show by the partial correlation R=0,4797 with the Fobs=7,075 ≥ Ftable=2,734

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to describe cooperative learning process in jigsaw type that increased interest and mathematics achievement of  class VII A’s students in MTs N Maguwoharjo Sleman in academic year 2013/2014. The subject of this research was students of class VII A are in MTs N Maguwoharjo Sleman totaling 32 students. The objects of this research were interests and matematics achievement using the Jigsaw cooperative learning model class VII A of MTs N Maguwoharjo Sleman. The results shows that after Jigsaw cooperative learning is applied, interest and achievement of students has increased. This can be shown by an increasing average value of students' learning interest from 58.14 in the pre-action to 72.98 after action. Learning achievement of students is also increased, judging from the average value of 59.18 to 65.26 in at the end of the cycle I, and increased again at the end of the cycle II that is 73.61. While the completeness percentage of students (with KKM 70) is also increased, which are  the pre-action amounted to 40.63% increased to 59.38% in the cycle II. Considering the Jigsaw cooperative learning can increase interest and learning achievement of students, it is recommended that mathematics teachers can apply this learning type.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to understand : (1) the tendency of creative thinking ability of sixth grade students who were taught using inductive learning model, (2) the tendency of creative thinking abilities of students of class VII are taught using conventional learning model, (3) Is the ability to think creatively math studentsVII class taught by using inductive learning model would be more effective than students who were taught using conventional learning models. Hypotesis in this research was "The ability to think creatively Class VII student of mathematics Park Adult Mother Pawiyatan Yogyakarta academic year 2013/2014 is taught using inductive learning model is better than the students who are taught using conventional learning model”. This research used experimental method, wich the experimental group taught by inductive learning model compared to control group that taught by conventional methode. The number of student in experimental group and control group were equal, 28 student. The collection of data used in this research is a test technique, then the data were analyzed using the t test correlated.  From the paired t test, the result of this research showed that the value of   = -2.626 compared to  = -2.052 can be concluded that the hypotesis was accepted. From the comparison of experimental group mean and control group mean can be interpretated that experimental group mean was better than control group mean; 15,964> 14,071. From this research can be suggested to the teacher to use inductive learning model to improve the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

This research intent to know relationship: (1) adversity quotient with learned achievement, (2) self efficacy with learned achievement, (3) study habits with learned achievement, (4) are jointly between adversity quotient, self efficacy and study habits with math learned achievement in tenth grade students of beauty skill program Vocational Middle School at Umbulharjo District. This study was expost facto.  This study population was all student in tenth grade of beauty skill program Vocational Middle School at Umbulharjo District totaling 209 students. The sampling technique used was a cluster random is sampling than sample was 62 students. Technique of data collecting used the technique to measure adversity quotient, self efficacy and study habits, and documentation technique to measure student achievement. The data analysis technique used is the descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The result showed that: (1) There is a positive and significant relationship between adversity quotient with math learned achievement student with a correlation of 0,352. (2)There is a positive and significant relationship between self efficacy with math learned achievement student with a correlation of 0,466. (3) There is a positive and significant relationship between study habits with math learned achievement student with a correlation of 0,442. (4) Taken together there is a positive relationship between adversity quotient, self efficacy and study habits with math learned achievement student with a correlation of 0,609. Based on these results, it was concluded that students learned achievement is influenced by adversity quotient's factor, self efficacy and study habits.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between numerical ability and students perception on mathematics with the results of mathematics learning. This research method applied descriptive of correlation. The population in this research is grade VIII SMPN 2 Jogonalan totaling 171 students, with a sample of 86 students taken by cluster random sampling. Analytical techniques multiple regression analysis with requirment of normality and linierity. Based on the results of the research, R = 0,491, meaning that there was a positive correlation between numerical ability and students perception on mathematics with the results of mathematics learning. 0,533, meaning that there was a positive correlation between numerical ability with the results of mathematics learning. 0,307, meaning that there was a positive correlation between students perception on mathematics with the results of mathematics learning.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to measure how far the math’s result and the learning motivation between the students who had inquiry learning strategy and who had conventional learning strategy. To find is there any different math’s result between the strategy and the motivation of the students. The research is done in SMP Negeri 2 Mlati Kabupaten Sleman for the 8th grade, on the academic year 2013/2014. The sample is chosen by using cluster random sampling. The data use technique is two-way analysis of variance 2x3 in different cell analysis. The research result shows that: (1) the math’s result study with inquiry in medium criteria’s score average is 14.29 (2) the result’s study of conventional learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 12.59 (3) motivation of study in inquiry learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 53.81 (4) motivation of study in conventional learning strategy in medium criteria’s score average is 48.88 (5) there is any different result of studying math based on learning strategy ( 4.08) (6) There is no different result study based on student’s motivation ( 0.268 3.23)  (7) there is no interaction between math learning strategy with student’s motivation ( 0.408 3.23)

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to find out correlate between  learn interest, and learning area with mathematics learning achievement on 10th  grade students at the whole district of Kalibawang Yogyakarta. The genre of this research is descriptive researchment. The population in this research were all students of 10th grade students at the whole district of Kalibawang Yogyakarta with amount 48 students and the samples taken at sampel jenuh with amount 48 students. Data collection method used was a questionannaire and a documentation. Analysis using descriptive analysis of data, multiple regression, and partial correlation. In the major hypothesis test is obtained R = 0,451 and R2 = 0,203 with sig=0,006 < 0,05. Then in the first minor hypothesis test is obtained ry1-2 = 0,297 with         sig=0,043 < 0,05; and the second minor hypothesis test is obtained ry2-1 = 0,343 with sig=0,018 < 0,05. So there is a positive and significant correlation between learn interest, and learning area with mathematics learning achievement on 10th  grade students at the whole district of Kalibawang Yogyakarta as collective and partial. It is expected that students care about learn interest, and learning area mathematics learning achievement increasingly.

Abstract

Abstract: This study held to improve determine the differences in student achievement in drill methods and conventional learning, to determine learning achievement which one is better among students who have prior knowledge of high, medium, and low, to determine whether there is an interaction between learning methods and prior knowledge on learning achievement. This study was a quasi-experimental research with the population and a sample of 40 students. The sampling technique with saturated sampling. The validity of the items with product moment and reliability with KR-20. Hypothesis testing technique with two way analysis of variance. The results of this study are: learning with drill method is more effective than the conventional learning (FA>Ftable); student achievement with high study prior knowledge better than students with moderate and low prior knowledge (FB>Ftable); there is no interaction between teaching methods and students' prior knowledge for learning achievement (FAB<Ftabel). Thus, from the results of this study are learning mathematics by using the drill method can be used to improve student achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students' motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics through application of system among with cooperative learning Group Investigation (GI) in class VIII F SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycle. The subjects of this research is students of class VIII F SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan totaling 27 students. Data collection techniques in this research uses observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The results showed that motivation and mathematics learning outcomes has increased. Based on the results of research,math teachers can implement application of system among with cooperative learning Group Investigation (GI) as a variation in mathematics learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Think-Talk-Write dan instruksi langsung. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII terdiri dari 6 kelas di SMP N 9 Yogyakarta 2014-2015. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 2 kelas yaitu kelas kelas eksperimen VIIIF dan VIIIE sebagai kelas kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan korelasi t-test. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) matematika hasil eksperimen kelas belajar dalam kategori tinggi (x Ì… = 85,59), (2) matematika hasil kelas kontrol belajar dalam kategori tinggi (x Ì… = 81,61), (3) hasil penghitungan menunjukkan bahwa tobs = 4309> ttabel = 2,035. Sehingga penggunaan jenis pembelajaran kooperatif Think-Talk-Write (TTW) model memiliki lebih efektif untuk matematika hasil belajar, dibandingkan dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan matematika hasil belajar.
