Abstract

Main problem faced by Voice over IP service is the level of delay and packet loss yielded.Queue delay that happened when packet enter router interface have a big effect in real-timecommunications like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). First In First Out (FIFO) QueueSystem does not own arrangement to traffic passing through it, all packets assumed equal. IfVOIP packets queue up together with data packet at this system hence the delay yielded willbe very big. A correct queue method needed to improve network delay characteristic andimprove Quality of Service (QOS) of VoIP. One QOS management method on VoIP which canbe used is CBQ (Class Based Queuing) queue method. CBQ represent scheduling mechanismproviding link-sharing among classes using same physical link. This is the method enabledivision of bandwidth allocation from router output port as according to traffic type andpriority. In the event of congestion, traffic with high priority will accept minimum bandwidthallocations as which have previous reservation. At the simulated scenario and networktopology, CBQ queue method able to meet the requirement of maximum delay according toITU recommendation G.114. Based on calculation conversion R factor value to MOS by usingE-Model, CBQ can assign MOS value more than 4 (four), meaning its value is good. Abstract

As the wireless technology continuing developing enormously, within it the development ofspeech signal compression joining too, which is implemented in digital communicationsystem. Among the aim is privileged to minimize the channel capacity or bandwidth usageand the speed of transmission. So the use of smaller bits, which brings maximised voicequality, are the most important factor to this technology. One of the speech signalcompression techniques which is implemented in GSM network is called Adaptive Multi Rate(AMR) speech codec or known as GSM-AMR speech codec. There are 8 (eight) bit rates12.2, 10.2, 7.95, 7.40, 6.70, 5.90, 5.15 and 4.75 kbps which is used by GSM-AMR. The bitrates have abilities to adapt to the situation and condition of the network and also ability totailor the operator needs and requirement. The result of a non real-time simulation is shownthat GSM-AMR has a good enough quality of speech signal reconstruction with range ofSNR between 18.78 and 20.35 dB and also range of MSE between 0.053 and 0.079. Thesmaller the bitrate, the better the SNR and the MSE. It was also proven with the comparisonof original signal and constructed signal which is shown that the reconstructed signal hassimilarities figure with the original signal. Overall, the performance of the speech codecgives a good speech quality.Keyword: Speech Codec, GSM-AMR, Adaptive Multi Rate, SNR, MSE.

Abstract

This article converses TMS320C3x DSP Starter Kit (DSK) board utilization as Butterworthinfinite impulse response (IIR) digital filter. Specification parameters of the filter can bechanged as long as they do not exceed performance limits of the DSK board.The resulted Butterworth filter performance is compared to the theoretical one obtainedusing Matlab signal processing toolbox. Abstract

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a genetic substance that brings heredity factor. DNA consistof four bases, which are adenine, timine, guanine, and citosine. Each base is symbolized byA, T, G, and C. There are coding and noncoding regions in DNA data. Coding region (calledexon) is a DNA region that’s useful to describe heredity factor. Many methods can be used todetermine coding region in DNA data, one of them is by using Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT). Simulation using DFT is performed by entering the algoritm similarities into Matlablanguage program. The purpose of simulation are to predict exon length, to get the value ofoptimized spectral and to get the value of exon total power spectral. Optimized spectral isuseful to identify exon position in DNA data. The results of simulation reveal that the totalpower spectral value of exon is proportional to N-point DFT value for each DNA sequenceand the optimized spectral value of DNA is also proportional to quantity of exon bases andexon length. Optimized spectral value reaches maximum for more quantity of exon bases andmore length of exon than when optimized spectral value reaches minimum.Keywords: deoxyribonucleic acid, exon, optimized spectral, total power spectral.

Abstract

The very high necessity of information force the development of information technologyespecially internet. Nevertheless, POTS still cannot satisfy their customers. The main factorwhich cause this problem is the internet access speed limitedness. Besides the telephone calland internet access must be used by turns. MMA offers high speed internet access by usingADSL lite technology and ATM to support various of multimedia applications. MMA alsoenable to use internet access and telephone simultaneously without need new customers’line.As a service which offers high speed internet access, so in this paper some experimentsof MMA access speed have been done. Abstract

High Capacity Base Transceiver Station (Hi-Cap BTS) is one kind of BTS which can hold increased traffic load rapidly because the numbers Trx at each sector can reach twelve Trx. Because of the fact, on the other hand the capacity of Hi-Cap BTS Trx are four times more than generally BTS. This paper discusses about the result and the analysis of Hi-Cap BTS implementation on BTS Muspasarseni with the first Trx configuration is 4/4/3 be modified to 8/6/3. This case uses four parameters such as traffic, Drop Call Rate (DCR), Handover Success Rate (HOSR) and Stand-alone Dedicated Control Channel (SDCCH) Success Rate (SDSR). Based on the analysis that has been performed, traffic rate at sector one, two and three are increased to 134%, 65%, 4% respectively. DCR rate at sector one, two and three are decreased to 54%, 39%, 18% respectively. HOSR rate at sector one, two and three are increased to 10%, 2,6%, 1,5% respectively. SDSR rate at sector one and two are increased to 2,3%, 2,8%, but SDSR rate at sector three is decreased to 1,2%. Keywords: BTS Hi-Cap, DCR, HOSR, SDSR

Abstract

Generally, an image consists of huge data which requires large capacity media storage. Then, if the image is going to be transmitted through telecommunication media, the transmission channel to be used must have large bandwidth. The increasing capacity and bandwidth of transmission channel cause data sending such as image with large data becomes inefficient. Compression process can be conducted to improve the efficiency in image sending process. Image compression is a process to reduce the bit used in representing an image. The purpose of compression process is to obtain image from reconstruction with smaller bit without reducing the quality of the original image. To handle it, an implementation of suitable image compression is needed and one of them is by using wavelet transformation. Simulation result shows that grey image reconstruction ”lena” is best for coif2 filter with PSNR score 38.6156, ”peppers” image is best for coif2 filter with PSNR score 41.8141 and ”coins” image is best for coif2 filter with PSNR score 40.6666. While the reconstruction image with ”wbarb” color is best for coif2 filter with PSNR score 37.2284, ”earth” image is best for coif2 filter with PSNR score 37.3550 and ”clown” image is best for coif2 filter with one level decomposition with PSNR score 37.5432.Keywords: Image, Wavelet, Compression, PSNR, Perf0

Abstract

In the field of transportation, telematics is used to obtain vehicle information using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology which is integrated with sensors so that vehicle information can be monitored. One of them is fuel monitoring. The fuel sensor has good accuracy in stationary conditions, but the tability of the data is disturbed when the vehicle is running on an uneven road and causes the tank to shake. This study discusses a fuel sensor noise reduction system using a Kalman filter to overcome the problem of data instability due to shocks. This research aims to reduce noise so that the filter results are closer to the actual result. Filtering is done by changing the process error covariance (Q) and measurement error (R) in the Kalman filter. The fuel sensor noise is simulated using a simulator tank driven by an actuator that can tilt towards the x-axis and the y-axis to resemble the behavior of a vehicle. The fuel level data from the sensor readings are sent by GPS via the cellular network to a server which is then filtered using a web application. From the test results obtained the best filter with (Q) equals 0.1^3 and (R) equals 0.1^3. The average error of the best filter results is 4.73% where this value is 1.92% smaller than the average error of sensor data before filtering, which is 6.65%. Therefore, this proves that the system can reduce noise that occurs in the fuel sensor with the Kalman filter.

Abstract

Bagi masyarakat di daerah perkotaan, bercocok tanam bisa menjadi alternatif untuk menyalurkan hobi. Urban Farming merupakan cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk masyarakat perkotaan. Oleh karena itu dirancang suatu otomasi penyiraman yang bisa bekerja sesuai kebutuhan berdasarkan besarnya nilai kelembaban tanah. Bila sensor mendeteksi nilai batas kelembaban, maka pompa air akan menyala untuk menyemprotkan air ke tanaman. Sistem ini juga dilengkapi penampungan air yang akan terisi otomatis bila terdeteksi air berada di level terendah. Seiring dengan kesibukan masyarakat urban di perkotaan maka seluruh proses otomasi ini dapat dipantau dari jarak jauh melalui aplikasi khusus berbasis Android yang ditempatkan pada telepon pintar genggam pemilik tanaman. Pada tulisan ini diperoleh pengukuran kinerja dari sebuah aplikasi Android sebagai pemantau dan pengendali system Urban Farming ini. Kinerja aplikasi ini diuji melalui waktu respon melalui jaringan seluler 4G dengan hasil kisaran waktu respon antara 4 – 9 detik.
