Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' metacognitive skills using guided Inquiry models of reaction rate material based on online learning. The research subjects were students of 2nd grade IPA 2 SMAN 1 Driyorejo in the academic year 2020/2021 totaling 33 students. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design and techniques of data collections used test and questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used in this research was descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. The results of this study showed an increase in the metacognitive skills of students using the guided Inquiry model on the reaction rate material based on online learning which could be seen from the results of the posttest scores being better than the pretest with the n-gain value of planning skills of 0.63 in medium category; n-gain of monitoring skills of 0.92 in high category; n-gain of evaluating skills of 0.65 in medium category. Based on inferential analysis using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test, it showed the significance of the indicators planning skill, monitoring skills, and evaluating skills with a value of 0,000 which 0,000 <0.05, means that the hypothesis is accepted. This indicated that learning using guided inquiry model had a significant effect on students’s metacognitive skills in the reaction rate material based on online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop science-oriented learning devices oriented to a decent 5E learning cycle to empower the thinking skills and understanding of the concept of junior high school students. The development of the tool is based on the Dick & Carey development model (2009), and is implemented in the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 Satap Pringgabaya, East Lombok, by using one group pre-test and post-test design. Based on the research that has been done, there are some findings that is, the value of learning learning device validity ranges from 3 - 4, the average has good category, and the reliability of learning devices developed ranges between 90.84% - 98.83%. The lessons that have been implemented have good category, the students enthusiastically follow the learning activity, the level of legibility of the textbook developed at the instructional level, the most dominant activity done by the students during the activity is measuring, observing and / or doing practicum, working on LKS, and answer (give) responses. Learning cycle 5E has been implemented is a new learning model for students, students feel happy with the 5E learning model, because it can empower the thinking skills and understanding of student concepts, and the average level of thinking and understanding of students are at the relational level, with a percentage of 45.67%. Based on the results of research that has been implemented, it can be concluded that, learning tools developed feasible, practical, and effective, so it can be applied to empower the skills of thinking and understanding of concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA menggunakan model PBL (Problem Based Learning) pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik di SMPN 02 Suboh. Perangkatpembelajaran dikembangkan dengan desain penelitian dick and carey. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 20 orang pesertadidik.Validitas ditinjau dari hasil validasi Silabus,RPP, BahanAjar, LKPD, dan Instrumen Penilaian Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket. Data penelitian yang dihasilkan adalah validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (a) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori sangat valid, (b) kegiatan pembelajaran terlaksana sangat baik dengan rata-rata skor 3,9, (c) aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran terlaksana sangat baik, (d) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran inkuiri sangat baik (97,5%), dan (e) hasil tes berpikir kritis siswa ada peningkatan yang tinggi, kemampuan berpikir kritis meningkat dari 27 (Sangat Kurang Kritis) menjadi 84,25 (Kritis). Simpulan perangkat pembelajaran IPA menggunakan model PBL (Problem Based Learning) pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik di SMPN 02 Suboh layak digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the students’ critical thinking ability through learning activities using a science e-magazine of socioscientific issues-based inquiry model on additive and addictive material. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study also investigated the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the science e-magazine of socioscientific issues-based inquiry model on the students’ critical thinking abilities. Data collection techniques used validation, observation, and test. The average students’ critical thinking ability was seen from the overall n-gain score of 0.34 in moderate criteria. The data analysis technique was intended to find out the improvement of critical thinking using paired sample t-test with sig result that was 0.000, so that if H0 is rejected, it means there was an increase in the ability of critical thinking students on VIII A class at Junior High School 1 Pamekasan after the learning activities. Students’ responses and implementation were analyzed using descriptive analysis. E-magazine development was accompanied by the compiling of other learning tools such as syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheet, and critical thinking tests. E-magazine was saved in pdf format, making it easier for students to read them on smartphones or laptops. The average response of students to the learning activities was 80% and to the e-magazine was 80%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the students’ creativity and learning outcomes in basic natural science concept course in PGSD Department by using OPPEMEI, it was a new learning model consisted with the steps of learning, such as the orientation, exploration, research, elaboration, exhibition, and implementation. This research used a qualitative descriptive analysis. The subjects of this research were 4 classes (classes F, G, B, and A). Data collection method used creative thinking skills tests with indicators of creative thinking ability which was consisted of fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality. Creative thinking skill ability improvement was analyzed by using N-gain. The results showed that there was an improvement in average score of N-gains from the creative thinking skills in the amount of 0.27, 0.153 and 0.101, an improvement occurred in class F. The highest indicator of creative thinking skills was fluency of N-gain in the amount of 0.67. It was categorized into very high criteria. This research showed that the OPPEMEI learning model improved the creative thinking skill ability which would affect the students’ learning outcomes. OPEMEI model would be one of the solutions in the learning process especially in the use of learning models.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan perangkat pembelajaran, mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran, dari   MODEL OPPEMEI. Seluruh data diperoleh dari instrumen pengumpulan data dan dianalisis secara deskriptif tentang validitas dan reliabilitas terhadap hasil produk pengembangan RPS dan SAP yang terdiri dari 4 topik ) untuk mata kuliah konsep dasar IPA yang di nilai oleh Ahli  dalam bidang pendidikan IPA dan Dosen pengampu mata kuliah konsep dasar IPA. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kriteria validitas komponen-komponen RPS secara umum sangat valid. Koefisien reliabilitas percentage of agreement lebih dari 80%, (94%) sehingga tingkat konsistensi antar ahli terhadap keseluruhan aspek validitas konstruk model OPPEMEI sangat tinggi. Hasil analisis validitas RPS menunjukkan ahli sepakat bahwa RPS yang telah dikembangkan berdasarkan model OPPEMEI telah dikonstruksi secara logis dan konsisten, sehingga RPS secara substansi dinilai layak untuk mendukung implementasi model OPPEMEI. (2)  kriteria validitas komponen-komponen SAP Model OPPEMEI secara umum sangat valid. Koefisien reliabilitas untuk topik I, II, III dan IV, berturut–turut 0, 89; 93; 0,93, dan 0,89   sehingga tingkat konsistensi antar ahli terhadap keseluruhan komponen SAP-Model OPPEMEI sangat tinggi. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan ahli sepakat bahwa SAP-Model OPPEMEI yang telah dikembangkan layak sebagai pendukung implementasi model OPPEMEI.

Abstract

In this study, papain was immobilized on chitosan with Mg(II) cosslinked agent. Studies on free and immobilized papain systems for determination of optimum pH, optimum temperatur, thermal stability and reusability were carried out. The results showed that free papain had optimum pH 6.5 and optimum temperature 55 °C while the immobile papain hadoptimum pH 8 and optimum temperature 80 °C. The thermal stability of the immobilized papain, relative to that of the free papain, was markedly increased. The immobilized papain can be reused for at least six times.

Abstract

Thermophile protease has economic value, because this enzyme is useful on all kind of industry that used high temperature on it production process. The thermophile has been isolated from hot water spring at Cangar Batu Malang called CG-10 isolate. The characteristic of CG-10 are; bolt colony has a brown-white colour, rod form cels with size 6-14 µm and Gram positive. Identification with 16S-rRNA gene of their isolate shows 98.305% similarity with B. caldoxylolyticus. The protease characteristic of CG-10 isolate, fractionated by ammonium sulfate 35% (w/v), centrifuged by 4000 rpm of speed for 15 minute, (1) has optimum temperature of 80oC; (2) has optimum pH 8, (3) can survive until 60 minutes of incubation time at temperature 80oC , (4) the molecule weight of: 60-76 kDa with pH1 value between 7.5 - 8.20, (5) this protease is alkaline serine protease, and (6)Vmaks value 0.622 unit menit -1 and KM 9.8 µmol/L, so this CG-10 isolate protease can be use in detergent industry.

Abstract

The CG-10 isolate is a thermophile microorganism live in extreme environments, a hot spring located at Cangar East Java, having temperature 50 oC. The isolate had following characteristics: rod shaped cells, gram-positive, size of cells 6-14 µm, aerobic, and obligate thermophile. Based on the nucleotide sequences of its 16S-rRNA gene indicated that these isolate was closely related to Bacillus caldoxylolyticus (98.305% sequence similarity). The enzymes produced by thermophile microorganism were usually active at a higher temperature than that of the environment in which they live. Therefore it is possible to use this enzyme in industries requiring high temperature in their production processes. The CG-10 isolate grew well in a liquid waste of tofu and could secretion extracellular protease. The protease was isolated by fractioning at 35% (w/v) ammonium sulfate, centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 15 minutes, and had the following characteristics: optimum temperature 80 oC, optimum pH 8, the molecular weight 53.000-76.000 Dalton (for the protease showing the highest activity), pHI value between 7.5 up to 8.2, and could be classified as a serine alkaline protease. For increasing the efficiency of this protease in industries had been done by immobilization with bentonite. The immobilization process is done at optimum pH (pH 5). The characteristic changes research of protease CG-10 isolate immobilized by bentonite had been done. The immobile enzyme showed different characteristics for that of the native (mobile enzymes). The immobile enzyme showed a different optimum temperature, a higher heat resistance but the same optimum pH as the native enzyme.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the enhancement of students critical thinking in fungi concepts based on Science, Technology, and Society learning approach. The learning process involved a single class consisting of 30 students on the first grade of State Senior High School of 16 Surabaya as the subject of this study. One group pre-test and post-test design was used in the learning process to determine the enhancement of students critical thinking skill. The findings indicated that critical thinking skill on students boosted highly as the effect of the learning process. It can be concluded that Science, Technology, and Society learning approach is able to increase the students critical thinking skill in fungi concepts.
