Abstract

Background: Papaya is a kind of plats which has the medicinal effect. Papaya’s sap (latex) contains papain, cimopapain and lysozim as protein destructor enzyme. Satrija guess that these enzymes has an anthelmintical activity. The research aim was to know the influence of papaya’s sap (latex) as a larvacide in several kind of doses (concentration).Methods: This research was true experimental design with posttest only control group design. Papaya’s sap was made as powder, afterward it was used for the research to know influence of Papaya’s sap in several kinds of doses (consentration) related to larval cumulative mortality rate of Aedes aegypti. Larvicidal activity was calculated based on larval mortality after 24 hours of exposure that was taken notes for each treated group. Data processing used SPSS program  version 11,0 with significance 95% that contains data normality test, varians homogeneity test, One Way Anova, and Scheffe Post Hoc Test to know difference in larval cumulative mortality rate.Results: The result from Anova test shown a significant result in cause larval cumulative mortality rate of Aedes aegypti (p-value < 0.05) in comparison with negative gontrol group. Treated group with Papaya’s sap 1% shown higest larvacidal activity.Conclusion: Papaya’s sap has larvacidal activity at the concentration of 0,16%; 0,3%; 0,5%; and 1%. At concentration of 1%, papaya’s sap shown higest larvacidal activity and shown a significant result. Keywords: papaya, larvacide, larvae of Aedes aegypti

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi kadar infusa daun kersen terhadap kematian cacing Ascaridia galli Scrhank secara in vitro .Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan desain penelitian Post-test Only Control Group Design. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu cacing A. galli schrank. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan merendam cacing A. galli dalam larutan NaCl 0,9% sebagai kontrol negatif, larutan piperazin sitrat 0,4% sebagai kontrol positif, dan larutan infus daun kersen dengan konsentrasi 20% v/v, 40% v/v, 60% v/v, 80% v/v dan 100% v/v. Perlakuan terdiri dari 6 ekor cacing yang terbagi dalam 21 cawan Petri. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap 2 jam sekali selama 14 jam. Data waktu kematian cacing dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Perhitungan LC50 dan LC90 dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis menunjukkan infusa daun kersen pada konsentrasi  60%v/v, 80%v/v dan 100% v/v memiliki pengaruh terhadap kematian cacing dengan nilai LC50 sebesar 38,90% dan LC90 sebesar 58,88%. Hasil uji kandungan kimia secara sederhana menunjukkan infus daun kersen mengandung tanin, saponin dan flavonoid.Kata Kunci: antelmintika, infusa, daun kersen, Muntingia calabura, Ascaridia galli

Abstract

Pandanus amayllifolius Roxb which commonly used as a flavoring and food coloring waspotentially have antibacterial activity. It should be an effort to develop a safe naturalpreservatives to reduce cases of food poisoning (foodborne disease) which mainly caused bybacterial pathogens. This study aims to determine the antibacterial potency of the water extract,ethanol, ethyl acetate, and a mixture of ethanol-ethyl acetate (1:1 v/v) extract againstStaphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli based on the value of MIC (Minimum InhibitoryConcentration) and MBC (Minimum Batericidal Activity). The antibacterial activity wasevaluated by the Kirby-Bauer diffusion method by making the extract concentration of 25 and50 %, as well as the loading dose tested was 2.5 mg and 5 mg/disc. MIC and MBC wasevaluated by solid dilution method. The results showed that the ethanol extract and water extractdon’t have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, whereasthe ethyl acetate extract and a mixture of ethanol-ethyl acetate (1:1 v/v) have an antibacterialactivity. Ethyl acetate extract showed the highest inhibitory potency. The MIC and MBC was 186 Pharmaҫiana, Vol. 4, No. 2, 2014: 185-192obtained at a level of 1.1% w/v and 6.7% w/v against Staphylococcus aureus, and 0.5% w/v and4.5% w/v against Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Kejadian demam berdarah dengue di Kabupaten Bantul Yogyakarta pada tahun 2014 meningkat cukup tinggi. Desa Selopamioro, Kecamatan Imogiri, memiliki lingkungan dengan kondisi banyak air tergenang dan benda-benda yang memungkinkan air tergenang. Hal ini merupakan tempat ideal bagi perkembangan jentik nyamuk aedes aegypti. Sampah tidak dikelola dengan baik sehingga benda-benda yang menjadi perkembangbiakan jentik nyamuk (breeding place) menjadi lebih banyak. Peranan masyarakat dalam memantau dan melaporkan keberadaan jentik nyamuk hanya dipilih oleh Jumantik dengan sistem pelaporan manual sehingga tidak efektif. Pemberdayaan dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pencegahan demam berdarah dengue dengan cara penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemantauan jentik nyamuk di daerah breeding placeberbasis android. Aplikasi smartphoneberbasis android dibuat untuk membantu masyarakat mengenal sekaligus membudayakan pemberantasan sarang nyamuk yang merupakan upaya paling murah dan efektif. Peranan perempuan menjadi sangat penting untuk dioptimalkan dalam kegiatan kader dimasyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masyarakat yang berpengaruh pada pembangunan manusia yang maju. Kegiatan pelatihan deteksi breeding placedemam berdarah dengue dengan aplikasi berbasis android mampu memantau, mendata dan melacak lokasi keberadaan jentik nyamuk aedes aegyptidi daerah breeding place, mengoptimalkan kegiatan Jumantik dan terbentuknya kader-kader baru untuk meningkatkan pengendalian vektor nyamuk dalam membudayakan gerakan Satu Rumah Satu Jumantik melalui PSN 3M Plus.

Abstract

Kesehatan adalah faktor penting yang mendukung terwujudnya masyarakat sejahtera. Tanpa badan yang sehat, masyarakat tidak akan mampu bekerja dan berusaha.Masyarakat RT 03 Grojogan, Wirokerten, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta  belum mampu memanfaatkan sampah plastik dari aktivitas rumah tangga yang melimpah. Setiap tahun kasus DBD (Demam Berdarah Dengue) yang disebabkan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegepty selalu meningkat. Minimnya Kesadaran, pengetahuan, keterampilan warga akan arti pentingnya TOGA (Tanaman Obat Keluarga),  kebersihan lingkungan yang disebabkan sarang nyamuk (misalnya sampah plastik) untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan warga sehingga kasus DBD dapat menurun dan dapat mengurangi penularan virus Zika pada masyarakat binaan.            Metode pendekatan yang ditawarkan adalah :penyuluhan dan pelatihan, pemberdayaan kelompok masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan sampah plastik menjadi media TOGA dengan sistem hidroponik. Dengan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat  tentang pemberantasan DBD, Penularan Virus Zika dan Manfaat TOGA sebagai pengobatan dini penyakit degeneratif. Masyarakar dapat mengoptimalkan lahan sempit untuk budidaya TOGA.            Kegiatan   ini  telah berhasil  memperkenalkan dan memberikan bekal tentang cara budidaya TOGA dengan media sampah plastik.Setelah selesainya Kegiatan   ini diharapkan  melalui Kader Dasawisma yang telah dibentuk dapat membantu memonitoring peserta  agar benar-benar menjalankan kegiatan ini dalam kelompoknya masing-masingKata kunci: Sampah Plastik, TOGA

Abstract

INTISARINyamuk  Aedes  Aegypti menularkan penyakit DBD (Demam Berdarah Dengue) ke manusia dengan gigitannya. Breeding Place  merupakan berkembangbiaknya  jentik nyamuk di tempat penampungan air yang tidak beralaskan tanah  kurang  menjadi pantauan oleh masyarakat. GPS (Global Positioning System) adalah sistem satelit navigasi dan pemantauan posisi koordiinat bumi. Proses pengambilan lokasi Breeding Place tersebut akan diperoleh koordinat yang disebut waypoint (garis lintang dan bujur pada peta). Google Maps dan GoogleEarth saat ini telah tersedia untuk Android dan menawarkan keseluruhan layanan yang dimiliki Google. Salah satu fitur yang bermanfaat bagi banyak orang adalah informasi titik koordinat  GPS lintang dan bujurnya.Google Maps dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dari penggunanya. Seperti mencari bisnis lokal, melihat peta, mendapatkan petunjuk, informasi lalu lintas real-time, melihat jadwal keberangkatan masih banyak lagi.Sementara Google Earth dapat membawa  pada  virtual tempat-tempat indah yang berbeda di belahan bumi. Google Earth dapat diasumsikan sebagai bagian dari Google Maps. Tapi, lebih mengutamakan pengalaman daripada utilitas.Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan tingkat akurasi antara Gooogle Maps dan Google Earth dengan metoda linier jarak(phytagoras) untuk mengetahui titik koordinat Breeding Place di lingkungan penduduk. Hasil uji linier jarak data diolah menggunakan  standar deviasi untuk mengindikasikan ketelitian atau kedekatan setiap individual data terhadap data lainnya, pada suatu pengamatan terhadap objek tertentu. Dengan semakin besarnya nilai standar deviasi, maka tingkat ketelitian data hasil pengukuran dapat dikatakan burukKata kunci —GPS,Breeding Place,Gooogle Maps,Google Earth. ABSTRACTAedes Aegypti mosquitoes transmit DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever) to humans with bites. Breeding Place is the breeding of mosquito larvae in water shelters that are not grounded and are not monitored by the community. GPS (Global Positioning System) is a navigation satellite system and monitoring the Earth's coordinating position. The process of taking the location of the Breeding Place will be obtained by the coordinates called waypoint (latitude and longitude on the map). Google Maps and Google Earth are now available for Android and offer all of Google's services. One feature that is useful for many people is information on the latitude and longitude GPS coordinates. Google Maps is designed to meet the needs of its users. Like looking for a local business, looking at maps, getting instructions, real-time traffic information, see more departure schedules. While Google Earth can bring to virtual different beautiful places in the hemisphere. Google Earth can be assumed as part of Google Maps. But, prioritizing experience rather than utility.This study aims to compare the level of accuracy between Gooogle Maps and Google Earth with the linear distance method(phytagoras) to find out the coordinates of Breeding Place in a population environment. The linear test distance of the data is processed using standard deviations to indicate the accuracy or proximity of each individual data to other data, in an observation of a particular object. Abstract

Dengue fever is transmitted by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes infected with denguevirus. Preparations antinyamuk much use of harmful chemicals such as DEET (diethylmetatoluamide) and permethrin that can lead to pollution of the environment, leavingno residue and cause resistance to the drug. To determine the activity of essential oils from herbs basil (Ocimum Sanctum L) in the preparation of spray as a mosquito repellent and determine the effective concentrationof the spray.This type of research is True experiment with design Post Test Only Control Group Design. Repellent activity was observed by means of spray is sprayed on the back of the hand probandus, then tested on female mosquitoes with the introduction into the cage containing20 mosquitoes each treatment. Spray essential oils showed repellent activity of Aedes aegypti with a value of correlation r = 0.964 higher concentration of essential oils the fewer mosquitoes that land. Spray herbal essential oil of basil (Ocimum basilicum L) has a repellent activitycompared to the negative control. The effectiveness of the herb basil essential oil sprayobtainedat 74.131 ppm lC50 and lC90 of  775.711 ppm

Abstract

The Corona Virus-19 (Covid-19) outbreak in Indonesia has caused many problems including blood supply which will be significantly affected by decreasing the amount of blood donated. The Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) must be ready to move quickly in response to the changes that occur, where an adequate blood supply is most likely to be affected. Purpose: to encourage the community of Partners to become voluntary blood donors so that they can help residents in keeping the availability of blood safe during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Methods: cadres from members of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Sungapan, Sriharjo, Imogiri, Bantul, were trained to carry out initial donor selection examinations including blood pressure checks, hemoglobin level checks, blood type checks and doing it independently so that it can increase the role of voluntary blood donors. This outreach activity is to educate the community to form a cadre of PKK mothers to be trained in conducting initial donor selection checks so that data can be used as a means of obtaining voluntary donors in Mitra areas and creating independent blood donor villages. Conclusion: PKK cadres have been able to provide counseling to residents and are able to check blood pressure, hemoglobin levels and blood type keywords: cadre, blood donation village

Abstract

Hepatitis B virus has been a problem in developing countries. The transmission of HBV is through the exposure to the blood or secret of the infected patients. Woman has 3 times higher risk to get HBV than men. The pleminary observation revealed that in Pondok Pesantren Putri QoyyimYogyakarta 20-30 students shared a room. It also showed poor hygene that might lead to environmental based transmission. No sepesific sympthom for HBV infection in the early phase causes people unaware of getting infected. This study was aimed at finding out factors associated with HBV case among students in Pondok Pesantren Putri Ibnul Qoyyim Yogyakarta. This was an observational study using Cross Sectionl approach including 97 female students. The data were collected using interview, observation and blood testing to find out the marker of possitive HbsAg. The independent variable was blood transfussion history, the use of shrynge, piercing , permanent tattoo, accupunture, mouth cavity examination or dentist, family history of hepatitis,the tooth brush sharing or nail cutter.The resut showed that out of 97 female students subjected to blood test, 2 had a possitive HbsAg. Univariate analysis showed that factors associated with hepatitis B is the family history (OR=7.636; 95% Cl= 0.445-130.985 p=0,002). Multivariate analysis showed that family history of hepatitis B was significantly associated with the hepatitis B incidence (OR= 5. 704; 95% Cl= 0. 287-113. 276, p=0.004). Family history of hepatitis B is the risk factor for hepatitis B incidence in Pondok Pesantren Putri Ibnul Qoyyim Yogyakarta. Health education on the risk of geeting infected by Hepatitis B virus should be in the first priority.
