Abstract

This research was conducted from February-June 2014 in Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The objective of this research was to evaluate the intergeneric hybridization between gold fish (Carassius auratus auratus) with silver sherkminow fish (Osteochillus hasselti) by comparing the fertilization rate, hatching rate, survival rate in four days (SR-4), survival rate for 30 days (SR-30), extra weight and value heterosis ( hybrid vigor ) between fish larvae results hybridization with fish control. The method is applicable in the experimental methods, where spawning artificial was conducted by the use of eggs and fish sperm of a comet (Carassius auratus auratus) and fish nilem (Osteochillus hasselti) that has been injected using ovaprim with a dose of 0,5ml / kg.The highest percentage of fertilization is marriage ♂ K x ♀ K (75.04%), follow by ♀ K x ♂ N (70.87%), ♀ N x ♂ N (31.3%) ♀ N x ♂ K 30.14%. Persenatage the highest hatching is a control that is ♂ K x ♀ K (91.50%), which followed ♀ N x ♂ K (88.37%), ♀ N x ♂ N (87.44%) and ♀ K x ♂ N (68.67%). The highest percentage of survival rate 30 days in sequence is ♀ K x ♂ K (69.08%), ♀ N x ♂ N (60.17%) and ♀ K x ♂ N (2.06%). As for hybrid ♀ N x ♂ K died at the age of 4 and 5 days. The highest weight added sequentially is the larvae of spawning results ♀ K x ♂ N (0,23 g), ♀ K x ♂ K (0,21 g) dan ♀ N x ♂ N (0,19 g). All values of heterosis is negative except at the FR (33.29 %) and extra weight (15.25 %) from ♀ K x ♂ N.Key words : hibrydization, gold fish, nilem

Abstract

This research was conducted for five months from 20 May – 20 October 2013, releasing % of brood fish was done in the soil pond and ovulation was carried out in the Hatchery Laboratory and fish breeding, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the best dose of vitamin E added to fish pellets for egg quality of kelabau fish (Osteochilus kelabau). Applied doses of Vitamin E were 0, 100, 150, 200 mg/kg pellets. Parameters measured were the duration for gonadal maturation achievement, ovi somatic index, latency time, number of eggs ovulated, egg diameter at the end of experiment. The results showed that the maturation % gonad took place in 3 month in brood fish feed wisth vitamin E 200 mg/kg pellet. Which was shorter than that with out added with vitamin E. Latency time was 13.5 hours and the average number of ovulated eggs were 4. 807. The ovi somatic index was 0.82 % and the average diameter of eggs after treatments was 1,4 mm. Whereas the control treatment without giving Vitamin E mature gonads during maintenance 5 months in rainfed pond. water quality obtained during the study available temperature about 26 – 37 0C, pH 5 – 6, Dissolved Oxygen 1,42 – 2,20 ppm, water level 32 – 37 cm and ammonia 0,18 – 0,30 ppm.Key words: Vitamin E, Eggs quality, Osteochilus kelabau.

Abstract

The effect of combination of stocking density and food types on gonad maturity and egg quality of hard lipped barb (Osteochillus hasselti CV) was conducted from April to June 2015 at the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau. The broodstocks were reared in the 300-L cages placed in 3x2x1 m concrete tank for 80 days rearing period. The treatments were stocking density 20 fish/cage fed on tubifex worm (SD-20-TB), SD 20 fed on pellet dry feed (PL); SD-20 fed on PL+Vit E; SD-30 TB; SD30 PL; SD30 PL+VitE; SD40, TB; SD40 PL and SD40 PL+VitE. Fish stocked at 20 fish fed on PL+VitE produced the best result in term on the number of Fish reached at mature stage (Maturity Stage IV), (50%), fecundity (360 eggs/g fish) , Gonado Somatic Index (GSI, 14.7%), egg diameter (0.94 mm) and percent egg maturity was 75%. Temperature range of 29-30 oC, pH 5-6, and dysolved oxygen of 2.43-3.18 mg/L. Key words : Oseochillus hasselti; stocking density; feed types, Vitamin E, gonad maturity, egg quality

Abstract

ABSTRACT The effect of stocking density and feeding rate on the growth and survival rate of comet gold fish larvae (Carassius auratus) was conducted on 14 May to 23   June 2017 in the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The larva was reared in 15 liters aquarium using water resirculation system. This research used the experimental method, while the experimental design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) two factors. First factor was stocking density with four treatments (1 larvae/liters, 2 larvae/liters,3 larvae/liters, 4 larvae/liters) and second factor was feeding rate with two treatments( 40 % and 60 % body weight/day). To minimize errors, each treatment repeated 3 times. The growth and survival rate of larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/L and feeding rate 60% body weight/day were significantly higher than those it 2, 3, 4 larvae/L and 40 % Bw/day respectively. Larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/Liter and feeding rate 60% body weight/day was the highest in growth the survival rate, that was 2.46 g, 4,36 cm, 12,94 % /day and 100 % survival rate. The water quality parameters during this research were: temperature 24,6-28,2 0C, pH 5,2-6,8 and dissolved oxygen 4,9-6,0 mg/l. Key word : Carassius auratus, density, feeding rate, growth, survival rate and recirculation

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 His research was conducted for 40 days from October 25, 2017 to 3 December 2017 which took place at the Laboratory of Fish Breeding and Breeding at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. This study aims to determine the Effect of Light and Shelter Interaction on the Growth and Survival of Baung Larvae (Hemabargus nemurus) which is maintained by a water aeration system. The method used in this study is the experimental method while the factorial design is Completely Randomized Design with two factors, namely the light factor with three levels of each light 0, light 12 hours, light 24 hours. Whereas the second factor is the amount of shelter provision, each S (using shelter) and NS (do not use shelter) To reduce the error of each treatment level, repeat 3 times.               From the results of the study obtained the best growth and survival of G0NS (dark for 24 hours not using shelter) resulted in the growth of absolute weight of baung fish larvae of 2.44 grams, absolute growth rate of 4.91 cm followed by a specific growth rate of 11.30% / day and survival 98.92%. The results of measurements of water quality obtained temperatures ranging from 25.4-28.2 0C, pH ranged from 5.2 to 6.4 and DO ranged from 5.0 to 6.0 ppm. Keywords: Hemabargus nemurus, Light, Shelter,

ABSTRACT                             Artificial feed is one of the alternative diet to replace natural foodfor fish larvae.  The addition of probiotics to paste feed could  improve the digestibility of larvae. Probiotics are cultured products or live microbial feed suplements, which beneficially affect the host by improving the intestinal microbial balance. The aim of the research was to evaluate the addition of probiotic dosages to artificial feed on growth and survival rate of green catfish larvae. This research was conducted from July until September 2018 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty Riau University. The treatments in this research wereP0 (0 ml/kg feed), P1 (2 ml/kg feed), P2 (4 ml/kg feed), P3 (6ml/kg feed). The 8 days old larvae were rearing in 15 litreaquarium at stocking density 2 larvae/l for 40 days. Feeding was given 3 times/day at the rate 30% of biomass. Abstract

 AbstractThis research was conducted on 26 September – 26 October 2018 in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit TheLukup BadakFish Hatcheryin Central Aceh District. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Oodev and turmeric flour doses on maturation of Mahseer fish (Tor douronensis). The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 1 factor and 5 levels of treatment where each treatment used 3 replications to obtain 15 experimental units. The treatments in this study were giving Oodev 0 ml / kg broodstock turmeric flour 0 g / kg of feed, Oodev 0.5 ml / kg of broodstock and turmeric flour 0 g / kg of feed, Oodev 0.5 ml / kg ofbroodstock and turmeric flour 0.25 g / kg of feed, Oodev 0.5 ml / g of broodstock and turmeric flour 0.5 g / kg of feed and Oodev 0.5 ml / kg ofbroodstock and turmeric flour 0.75 g / kg of feed. The results showed that Oodev and turmeric flour effect had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the maturation of Mahseer fish (Tor douronensis). Oodev 0.5 ml / kg of broodstock and turmeric flour 0.75 g / kg of feed is the highest treatment for maturation of Mahseer fish (Tor douronensis) which results in increased broodstock weight of 116.67 g, growth rate of relative parent weight of 11, 67%, Gonad Maturity Index (GMI) of 5.76%, increase in egg diameter of 1.57 mm and relative egg diameter increase of 157.29%. Key Word : Tor douronensis, Oodev, Mahseer, Turmeric flour, Gonad, Egg diameter

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conduted on August until September in Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau. The aim of this research was to know the effect of natural feed replacement with artificial feed on the growth and survival rate of Black Ghost Larvae (Apteronotus albifrons). The method in this research was an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, nine treatments and three replication. The treatment in this research were P1 (Artemia sp. for 40 days),P2 ( Tubifex sp. for 40 days), P3 ( Paste feed for 40 days), P4 ( Artemia sp. for 10 days + Paste feed for 30 days), P5 ( Artemia sp. for 20 days + Paste feed for 20 days), P6 ( Artemia sp. for 30 days + Paste feed for 10 days), P7 ( Tubifex sp. for 10 days + Paste feed for 30 days), P8 ( Tubifex sp. for 20 days + Paste feed for 20 days), P9 ( Tubifex sp. for 30 days + Paste feed for 10 days). The result showed that the best treatment was in P9( Tubifex sp. for 30 days + Paste feed for 10 days) the absolute weight growth was 0,492 grams, the absolute length growth was 4,34 cm  specific growth rate was  16,28 % dan survival rate was 94,4 %.Keyword : Artemia sp. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Oodev and HCG combination on ovulation and hatching of egg of Asian Catfish (Clarias gariepinus Burchel, 1822), Mutiara strain. This research was conducted from October-December 2018 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty Riau University. An experimental design used in this experiment was Completely RandomizedDesign (CRD)with five treatments and three replications.The treatmentswere P1 (Oodev 0,5 ml/kg + 1000 IU/kg HCG), P2 (Oodev 0,5 ml/kg + 1500 IU/kg HCG), P3 (Oodev 0,5 ml/kg + 2000 IU/kg HCG), P4 (Oodev 0,5 ml/kg + 2500 IU/kg HCG), P5 (Oodev 0,5 ml/kg + 3000 IU/kg HCG). The result showed thatthe gave the shortest combinationOodev 0,5 ml/kg and3000 IU/kg HCG,latency period (6,27 hours), the highest of number of egg stripped(133 egg/g broodstock), ovisomatic index (17,45%), increased ofegg diameter (0,090 mm), increased egg maturation (14,44%), fertilization rate (87,35%), hatching rate (91,87%), and survival rate (90,67%). The water quality parameters during research was in optimal range temperature 22-30°C, pH 5-7and dissolved oxygen 3,23-5,20 mg/l. Keywords :Clarias gariepinus Burchell, 1822, Oodev, HCG, Ovulation, and Hatching rate
