Abstract

Al-Radd ‘ala ’l-Mantiqiyyin (an alternative title for Nasihat Ahl al-Iman) is a work composed by Ibn Taymiyya to demolish each principle of logic as well as to unravel the depravity of their foundation. Probably due to Ibn Taymiyya’s being genius, when he destroys those principles, he could not avoid himself to discuss digressively irrelevant topics dealing with theological as well as metaphysical issues. In a number of passages in al-Radd, he could not even hinder himself to make a good deal of repetitions. Therefore, al-Radd ‘ala’l-Mantiqiyyin is complex and difficult to use. The coherence of arguments that Ibn Taymiyya formulated is not solid and comprehensive. His criticism of logic is not penetrating as well. On the basis of my analysis of al-Suyuti’s method of abridgement of Ibn Taymiyya’s al-Radd, I argue that al-Suyuti succeeded in rendering Ibn Taymiyya’s sequence of ideas superior to that found in the original work of the latter. The result of this study confirms Hallaq’s argument that the overall result of al-Suyuti’s abridgement of Ibn Taymiyya’s al-Radd is ‘a more effective critique of logic than that originally formulated by Ibn Taymiyya

Abstract

Oposisi terhadap kalam dan Mutakallimun diklaim oleh sebagian besar peneliti sejarah teologi sebagai monopoli kaum Sunni (ahl al-sunna wa 'l-jama'a), terutama pengikut Ahmad b. Hanbal. Oposisi tersebut diklaim tidak pernah dilakukan oleh kelompok Shi'ah. Penelitian terhadap dua karya ulama Shi'ah abad ke-15, Ibn al-Wazir al-san'ani, memberikan antitesis (tentatif) yang bisa mengakhiri klaim akan monopoli tersebut. Penelitian terhadap isi, sumber, dan otoritas yang dirujuk Ibn al-Wazir dalam kedua karyanya tersebut membeberkan data baru bahwa kalam dan Mutakallimun mendapat cercaan dari sebagian anggota mazhab Shi'ah.

Abstract

This paper is written to answer two main questions (1) how many were there 'the fruits' of literate movement in Banten, especially as reflected in literature written in Roman scripts (2) whether the rise of 'those fruits' is corelated with the geographical dispersion and intensive growth of the number of the alumni of so called Dutch School? To deal with these two main questions, the present writer will discuss two sub-topics: first, the degree of literacy of Banten indigenous population, and secondly, a number of accessible literatures which were published in 1900-1942, fruits' of the competency of reading and writing of literate group of Bantenese population. Historical approach applied in this study necessitate the present writer to undertake the fallowing steps: (1) heuristical, gathering relevant historical sources and data, (2) data intetpretation, and (3) historiography or historical naration. The reconstruction of those two sub-topics are solely based on the availability of primary sources, collected from National Library and National Archives of Indonesian Republic (PERPUSNAS and ANRI), both in Jakarta. The conclusion which can be taken in this study is that (first), despite of the fact that Banten is recorded as one of residences in Java with the lowest degree of literacy among its population, the product of literacy of its people is quite rich and quality. Secondly, there was a corelation between the growth of the number of alumni of the dutch school and the degree of the productiviry in literate movement. Abstract

Program Pengenalan dan Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Wimba dengan Media Pembelajaran Play Dough di Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Kabupaten Tasikmalaya adalah untuk meningkatkan kualifikasi dan kapasitas pendidikan pengampu mata pelajaran IPA melalui peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran  dan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif. Target yang ditetapkan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu guru-guru IPA yang berada pada jenjang Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) di wilayah Kabupaten Tasikmalaya diharapkan memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran Wimba dengan media pembelajaran play dough dengan baik yang nantinya diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan visuospasial, dimana kemampuan visuospaisal ini bisa meningkatkan kecerdasan intelegensi guru maupun peserta didiknya. Selain itu mampu memberikan wawasan serta pengalaman pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan karena penerapan model pembelajaran Wimba dengan media pembelajaran play dough ini memberikan kreatifitas dan pengembangan ide terkait materi sel untuk guru maupun peserta didik.
