Abstract

This research aimed to observe the effect of deposited effluent application on land application in the peat medium on growth of palm oil seedlings in the main nursery. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Jl. Bina Widya km 12.5 Simpang Baru Villae, Tampan District, Municipality of Pekanbaru. The experiment was conducted for 3  months, starts from February to April 2013. The research was conducted as experiments using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non-factorial that consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. To see the differences between treatments tested Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. Parameters  were observed are increased seedling height, increased leaf number, increased diameter stump, root volume, dry weight ratio of roots and canopies of palm oil seedlings. Result of research  have shown that effluent application with various doses significantly affected all parameters.   Keywords: mixed media, Effluent, palm oil seedlings.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine species of macrofauna and calculate population density of soil macrofauna understands of rubber plant in pet land in different ages. The research was conducted on 1 hectare area of peat land. It is divided in to two parts with ½ hectare 4 years rubber plant and ½ hectare 6 years rubber plant. The method that used is a survey method. Data was collected by purposive sampling. 9 plants samples were taken to each ages, and it get 18 plant samples. Soil sampling and soil macrofauna carried out in area 50 x 50 cm with depth 15 cm. The samples were taken around the plant samples (1 meter from the base of plant) and between plants (at rows). The method to collect of soil macrofauna by hand sortir method. Rubber plantations aged 6 years and 4 years have the same kind that are braid (Geophilomorpha), ants (Hymenoptera) and ground beetles (Coleoptera). Rubber plantations aged 6 years found 381 soil macrofauna more than rubber plantations aged 4 years found 289 soil macrofauna. Keywords: macrofauna, peat, rubber.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving LCPKS and NPK Tablet, and single factor LCPKS and NPK Tablet and get the best dose giving on the growth of oil palm seedling at main nursery. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on March 2015 until June 2015. This research was arranged on using Completely Rendomized Design (CDR) with two factorial: Factor I; Application Of Palm Oil Liquid Of Waste, L0 (without LCPKS), L1 (LCPKS 600 ml),L2 (LCPKS 1200 ml),L3(LCPKS 1800 ml). Factor II; N0(without NPK Tablet), N1 (2 tablet NPK), N2 (4 tablet NPK) and replicated 3 times, so abtained 72 unit experiment. Parameter observed were the accretion of plant heigh, accretion of stump diameter, accretion of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight.The result showed that giving LCPKS and NPK Tablet increase accretion of stum diameter, accretion of leaves number and dry root with get the best dose 1800 ml and 2 tablet NPK. Giving LCPKSincrease accretion of  plant heigh, accretion of stump diameter, accretion of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight with dose 1800 ml. Giving NPK Tablet the increase accretion of plant heigh, theaccretion of stump diameter,theaccretion of leaves, numberroot shoot ratio and dry weight with get the best dose 2 tablet. Abstract

The purpose of this research is determining the effect of some  treatment combinations and to determine the combination of best compost bunches empty palm oil and dolomite that could support growth seeds palm oil plantations in a main nursery. This research has been conducted in the experimental field, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from April to July 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design Factorial that consisting of two factors. The first factor is giving compost bunches empty palm oil which consist of three levels, they are: K1= 37,5 g/polybag, K2= 75 g/polybag and K3= 112,5 g/polybag. The second factor is giving lime dolomite (CaMg (CO3)2) which consist of three levels, they are: D1=9 g/polybag, D2= 18 g/polybag and D3= 30 g/polybag. Both of these factors resulted in 9 treatsments combination. Each combination made three replications, so that there are 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of two plants, so the total crop was 54 plants. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and the means were tested with Duncan 's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level of 5%. The research results show that combination of compost bunches empty palm oil and dolomite had show the real effect on the increase in diameter hump of seedlings , but the effect not real on the parameters height of seedlings,increase number of leaves, volume roots, ratio crown rootsand and dry weight of seedlings. Combination compost bunches empty palm oil 112,5 g/polybag and dolomite 18 g/polybag showed better results for the growth of palm oil seedlings. Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of interaction giving palm oil waste sludge and NPKMg (15:15:6:4) fertilizer on Ultisol and get the best treatment to the growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings in main nursery. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted from March to July 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design factorial that consisting of two factors. The first factor is palm oil waste sludge (S) consists of 4 levels. The second factor is the NPKMg (15:15:6:4) fertilizer (P) consists of 3 levels. Both these factors resulted in 12 treatment combinations, each combination made 3 replications, so that there are 36 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 2 plants, so the total crop was 72 plants. Parameters measured were the increase seedling height, the number of leaves increase, the increase hump diameter, leaf area, root volume and dry weight. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further tested using Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test at the level of 5%.The results of the research showed that there is interaction between giving application palm oil waste sludge and NPKMg fertilizer on increase of seed hump diameter dan seed dry weight. Combination treatment of sludge dose with 100 g/plant and NPKMg fertilizer with 10,5 g/plant is the best treatment that can be recommended to get the growth palm oil seedling in main nursery on Ultisol.   Keywords: palm oil, growth, Ultisol, palm oil waste sludge, NPKMg fertilizer

Abstract

This research aim was to study the effects of applying oil palm empty fruit bunches compost and natural growthregulator substances on growth palm oil ( Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). This research was conducted in screen house ofAgricultural Faculty, University of Riau, from December 2012-April 2013. Subsoil ultisol was taken from Kulim RegionPekanbaru. Soil chemical properties of ultisol material was analyzed at Soil Laboratory of Soil Research Bogor. Thisresearch used a split plot design as the main plot was natural growth regulator substances and subplot was oil palmempty fruit bunches compost consists of 3 treatments in the main plot and 4 in the subplot. The treatments in the mainplot: Z0 = without natural growth regulator, Z1 = natural growth regulator substances using banana corm, Z2 =natural growth regulator subtances using bamboo shoots. The treatments in subplot: T0 = without oil palm empty fruitbunches compost, T1 = 20 tons per ha of oil palm empty fruit bunches of compos, T2 = 30 tons per ha of oil palm emptyfruit bunches of compos, T3 = 40 ton per ha of oil palm empty fruit bunches of compos. The result showed that applicationof oil palm empty fruit bunches compost 20 tons per ha, without or with natural growth regulator subtances increasedplant height, number of leaves and diameter hump.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was determine how the effect of lands use change from natural forest to plantationforest Acacia crassicarpa on some physical properties and chemical properties of peat soil. The research conducted inthe PT. BBHA, Bukit Batu Subdistrict, Bengkalis Regency, and Laboratory of Soil Science Agriculture Faculty, RiauUniversity. The research was conducted by survey method, with purposive sampling. Data was analysed by descriptiveand graphics model. The parameters were particle size distribution, bulk density, particle density, porosity, pH, organiccarbon, total nitrogen, total phosphor and base cations (K, Ca, Mg and Na). The result of research show that land usechange from natural forest to plantation forest Acacia crassicarpa was increasing total of smalles particle, bulk density,and particle density, while the porosity decreases. Then the increasing were pH, total nitrogen, total phosphor, and basecations K, Ca, Mg, Na is fluctuative, whereas for organic carbon was linierly. The longer time of land use change wasincreasing the decomposition of peat soil, which improves the physical properties and chemical properties of peat soil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the amount of erosion in oil palm plantations in various slopes and determine the extent of erosion in oil palm plantations. This research was conducted in oil palm plantations PT. Chemical Tirta Utama, conducted over four months from December 2015 to March 2106. The study was conducted by two methods, namely the methods of measurement and prediction of erosion. Measurements of erosion are conducted by placing small plots in the area gawangan dead plant oil palm on land slope of 9%, 19% and 31%. Estimation of erosion performed using USLE method. The results showed that the amount of soil erosion in oil palm plantations using small plots highest on the slope of 9%, amounting to 5.38 tonnes / ha, whereas the lowest on slopes of 31% amounting to 2.83 tonnes / ha. For the method of soil erosion USLE highest on the slope 31% ie 431.98 tons / ha, whereas the lowest on the slope of 9% is 386.55 tons / ha. The degree of erosion in oil palm plantations by estimating method USLE at an inclination of 9%, 19% and 31%, respectively, are 11.64, 12.53 and 14.04 which are all included in the very high category. The level of erosion in oil palm plantations with small terraced plots measuring method at an inclination of 9%, 19% and 31%, respectively 0.16, 0.12 and 0.09 which are all included in the low category. Keywords: erosion, palm oil, small plots, the slope of the land, USLE

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dosage compost TKKS and ZA, TSP, KCl fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Riau, Tampan, Pekanbaru in October - December 2015. The design used in this research is arranged in Factorial Random Design (RAK) Factorial consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. Factor I: compost TKKS (C) with 4 doses (ton / ha) ie C1 (10), C2 (15), C3 (20), C4 (25) and factor II: ZA, TSP, KCl (K) With 3 doses (kg / ha): K0 (0), K1 (250 kg ZA / ha + 150 kg TSP / ha + 100 kg KCl / ha), K2 (500kg ZA / ha + 300kg TSP / ha + 200 kg KCl / ha). The data obtained were analyzed using multipurpose test with Duncan multiple test at 5% level. Compost TKKS and ZA, TSP, KCl fertilizer had significant effect on tuber diameter per sample clump, tuber weight per plot, and tuber weight per plot, Not significant to plant height and number of tubers per sample clump. The compost of TKKS 1.5 kg / plot was added ZA50 g / plot, TSP 30 g / plot and KCl 20 g / plot resulted in the highest onion production of 487.67 g / plot or equal to 4,8767 ton / ha compared with other treatment.Keywords: TKKS compost, ZA Fertilizer, TSP, KCl, Growth and Red Onion Production

Abstract

The aim of the research was studied the effect of application of organik and inorganik ameliorants on the growth of pre nursery oil palm seed (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) on Ultisol subsoil. This research was done at Bina Widya Campus of Riau University, Km. 12,5 Panam, Pekanbaru. The field research used Soil Science Laboratory and Agriculture Faculty. This research used statistic factorial in Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first is organic ameliorant consist of oil palm empty fruit bunches compost (OPEFBC) and cocopeat (C) with 6 levels (O0= without ameliorant, O1= 100 g OPEFBC, O2= 100 g C, O3= 50 g OPEFBC + 50 g C, O4= 50 g OPEFBC + 100 g C, O5= 100 g OPEFBC + 50 g C), the second is inorganic ameliorant consist of drges and fly ash with 4 levels (A0= without  ameliorant, A1= 50 g dregs, A2= 50 g fly ash and A3= 25 g dregs + 25 g fly ash)/ 2 kg soils. The result of combination organic ameliorant (50 g OPEFBC + 100 g C) and inorganic ameliorant (50 g fly ash) increased plant hight, number of leaves, stem diameter and leaf area compared to control and application of organic ameliorant (100 g OPEFBC) and inorganic ameliorant (50 g dregs, fly ash or mix).  Keywords: OPEFBC, cocopeat, fly ash, dregs
