Abstract

The milestones of Duano Tribe’s livelihood culture can be grouping into 4 periodes. The periodization based on the adaptation of Duano Tribe community to  bio-physic environment change or livelihood place change that used observation, interview, and document study to collect the data.  The first is year before 1722 where they was a sea nomads in Malaka Strait. In this period, Duano Tribe developed their livelihood culture based on schooling fish hunting activity. The second is year since 1722 to 1932 where the  Duano’s livelihood place moved to caostal zone and small island of Malaka Strait. In this period,  They developed livelihood culture based on sea nomads and fishing  technology, but natural culture that used in livelihood activity changed to pelagic fish and small fish. The third is year since 1932 to 1960, where the livelihood culture of Duano Tribe was in transition phase. In this period, livelihood activity of Duano Tribe changed to fishing activity at estuarin ecosystem in Berhala Strait. And the last is year after 1960, where the livelihood culture of Duano Tribe based on “menongkah” activity. Interaction between Duano community and state effect on their livelihood culture change. The adaptation of Duano Tribe community to bio-physic environment that was being effected by state power or another external power can be called as semi-natural adaptation.Keywords: Duano Tribe, Livelihood culture, Semi-natural adaptation, Sea nomads, FishermenTonggak-tonggak sejarah bernafkah Suku Duano yang dilihat dari adaptasi mereka terhadap lingkungan biofisik dapat dikelompokkan menjadi 4 periode. Pengelompokkan ini diperoleh melalui serangkaian proses pengumpulan data dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Periode pertama adalah masa sebelum tahun 1722 dengan budaya bernafkah sebagai pengembara laut yang berburu ikan-ikan ruaya, periode kedua diantara tahun 1722 sampai 1932 sebagai pengembara laut yang berburu ikan-ikan perairan dangkal, periode ketiga dari tahun 1932 sampai 1960 sebagai peralihan dari pengembara laut ke nelayan menetap yang memanfaatkan sumberdaya perikanan muara-pantai, dan periode keempat setelah tahun 1960 sebagai nelayan menetap yang menangkap/menungumpulkan sumberdaya perikanan muara-pantai atau aktivitas menongkah. Interaksi Suku Duano dan negara mempengaruhi perubahan budaya bernafkah budaya bernafkah mereka. Perubahan budaya bernafkah yang dipengaruhi oleh kekuatan negara atau kekuatan lain diluar komunitas dapat disebut semi-natural adaptasi.Kata Kunci: Suku Duano, Budaya Bernafkah, Adaptasi Semi-natural, pengembara laut, nelayan

Abstract

This research on the cultivation of ornamental fish in Kelurahana Simpang Tiga was held in January 2016, ornamental fish breeding place in the village of Simpang Tiga subdistrict Bukit Raya Pekanbaru in Riau province. The purpose of this study was to determine the investments, the net income and the feasibility of cultivation of ornamental fish. The method used is the method of determination of the survey respondents were census. Respondents are drawn is the overall ornamental fish farmers who grow ornamental fish, amounting to 4 respondent. The results of the research effort buddidaya menjukan that ornamental fish farmers in the village of Simpang Tiga with total investment ranging between Rp.8.933.800 until Rp.11.641.800, net revenues received by farmers for harvest once every three months ranged between Rp.5.291. 402 up to Rp.7.270.989, based on investment criteria then obtained RCR ranges - RCR ranged from 2.35 to 2.82, FRR ranged between 52% - 72%, PPC ranged from -2.04 to 1.57. From these data show that the cultivation of ornamental fish in Kelurah Simpang Tiga is appropriate to proceed and have a very favorable prospects.Key word: Cultivators, Investment, Net Income, Level Eligibility

Abstract

The research about business analysis enlargement of fish pond of green catfish (Mystus nemurus) was conducted on January, 2016 in Sungai Paku Village, Sub-District of Kampar Kiri, District of Kampar, Riau Province. This study aims to (1) determine the input-output business enlargement of fish pond of green catfish (Mystus nemurus), (2) analyzed the business enlargement of fish pond of green catfish (Mystus nemurus) and (3) the feasibility business of enlargement of fish pond of green catfish (Mystus nemurus). The method used is a survey method that includes observation, interviews and documentation.Based on the results of research (1) stocking density in each pond with an area of 200-500 m2 as much as 3000-7500 fish / pond / crop with total production of 468-1065 kg / pond / crop, (2) the average production costs incurred in enlargement business of green catfish (Mystus nemurus) with an area of 200-500 m2 of Rp 11,767,400, - / harvest up to Rp 27,171,500, - / harvest with total receipts received by Rp 15.912 million, - / harvest up to Rp 36.21 million, - / harvest and great benefits received Rp 4.1446 million,-/ harvest up to Rp 9.0385 million, - / harvest and (3) enlargement business of fish pond of green catfish (Mystus nemurus) in Sungai Paku feasible with RCR value> 1, the FRR values> 6.02% and the value of PPC is between 3.44 to 3.68 per period or ± 1 year and 3 months. Abstract

This study was conducted in November 2016 in Dompas Village Bukit Batu District Bengkalis Regency. The purpose of this study was to describe the activity of a living outside the business of fishing is carried out by fishermen household members, analyze the contribution of business activity of a living outside the fishery for fishermen household economy. The method used in this study is a survey method. The population in this study are members of households of fishermen in the village Dompas which has activities outside the sideline income to fishing with a total population of 30 Household.Activities living out of fishing is done fishermen household consists of trade activity, gardening, building work, watch store, and the labor market. Activities husband living outside of fisheries such as gardening, building work, and the labor market and in doing at the time did not undertake fishing. wife living activities outside of fisheries such as gardening and trade and activities of children living outside of fisheries such as trade and watch store. The contribution of the activity of a living outside the fishery business made a great contribution to the household economy Dompas fishing village. Contributions activity husbands living outside the fishery business, amounting to 40.82%, 27.29% of wives and children of 31, 89%. Contribution income households living fishing activities outside the fishery business amounted to 44.04%, while the contribution of the fishery business amounted to 55.96%.Keywords: Contribution, Livelihood activities, Economy household

Abstract

This research was conducted in May 2016 in the city of Pariaman, West SumatraProvince of Indonesia. The purpose of this research are to analyze the business investment ofhandline fishing gear, profitability of fishing gear extended and the feasibility of catching upwith fishing gear stretching. This research used survey method. The population of theresearch are the owners of handline totaled 129 people, with a total sample of 5 people forfishermen strata 1 and 5 people for fishermen strata 2.The research results businesses overextend profitable fishing gear according to thegross income of handline fishermen fishing strata 1 per year as much as IDR.67.162.000 andfishermen gross income stratum 2 per year as much as IDR.94.630.000,- net income ofhandline fishermen fishing strata 1 per year as much as IDR.18.579.083,3 and net income ofhandline fishermen fishing strata 2 per year as much as IDR.18.695.716,7. Feasibilityanalysis shows the business can be continued according to the value of RCR > 1, the value ofPPC shows long payback of fishermen strata 1 for one year less one day and fishermenstratum 2 for 1 year 1 month 6 days andthen FRR value handline fishermen fishing effortstratum 1 and stratum 2 < bank lending rates prevailing then that business investment shouldbe deposited to the bank because it is more profitable.Keywords: Business Analysis, Handline Fishing, Feasibility Study, Fishermen,Pariaman City

Abstract

Poverty is always there in human life, thus requiring a comprehensive preventionefforts, integral and sustainable. Crisis and economic uncertainty make socialsecurity mechanism to maintain economic survivalitas fishing communities is veryimportant. Indragiri Hilir Regency Community of Duano that there is a social reality,Community of Duano Society is included in an isolated environment. People ofIndragiri Hilir more familiar Community of Duano as “the sea” which calls used bythe Malays to the people or communities who lives in the boat or live in costal sea,strait, and estuaries, livelihood as fisherman fishing, shrimp and shells. This studyaimed to identify the forms of social security whatever there is in the community ofDuano. Analyze the social security mechanisms that exist in the community ofDuano. The method used in this research is qualitative research methods in theimplementation of this study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data obtaineddirectly from informants who work as fishermen in Community of Duano throughinterviews. The results showed the from of social security in the Community ofDuano (1) social security education (2) social security health (3) social security foodand clothing (4) social security work and enterprise (5) social security housing (6)social security old-age (7) social security as an orphan and family benefits. Abstract

Social capital is the ability of a fisherman or fishermen group who work together to build a network to achieve the common goals in improving the quality of life that includes trust, institutions and social networks. This research is about social capital that is formed on fishermen group in Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan Sub-district, Medan city, North Sumatera Province. The method used in this research is case study by in-depth interview, observation and documentation study which is analyzed qualitative descriptive.The results showed that the existence of social capital in the group of fishermen Berkah Bahari can be seen through the dimensions of bonding, bridging and linking. Berkah Bahari fishermen groups have forms of social capital such as trust/trusting relationships, institutions, and good social networks in the level of individuals / members within the group or outside the group. The most dominant form of social capital in the Berkah Bahari fishermen group and fellow fishermen other than the Berkah Bahari fishermen group is the relation of mutual trust and social network compared by the relatively low institutions.Keywords: social capital, fisher group,Berkah Bahari, Bagan Deli

Abstract

Berdasarkan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Panjang Daerah (RPJPD) Kabupaten Lingga dan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Daerah (RPJMD) Kabupaten Lingga salah satu arah kebijakan yang tertuang disana adalah pemanfaatan potensi unggulan daerah (perikanan) untuk kesejahteraan. Sumberdaya perikanan di Kabupaten Lingga membutuhkan analisa, perencanaan, dan inovasi untuk dapat dikembangkan menjadi produk unggulan daerah. Usaha pengembangan produk unggulan daerah di Kabupaten Lingga dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yang meliputi studi kebijakan, focus group discussion, dan penyusunan rencana pengembangan. Pengembangan produk unggulan daerah di kabupaten lingga diawali dengan pengembangan produk-produk berskala UKM yang kemudian dalam perencanaan jangka panjang akan dikembangkan beberapa produk olahan segar dan beku. Peluang pengembangan produk unggulan daerah juga mengarah pada pemanfaatan limbah untuk mengurangi produksi buangan yang dapat mengganggu kualitas lingkungan.

Abstract

This paper was aimed (1) to analyze the institutional mechanism ofsocio-cultural transformation of Tribe Community, and (2) to analyze the socialmechanism of livelihood change of Duano Tribe. Instrumental case study wasconducted to Duano Tribe in Riau Province. Results showed that (1) the socio-cultural transformation process was pushed by the resettlement program for TribeCommunity in Indonesia, (2) sustainable livelihood role as incentive structure andAMAN as organizational field in the NIES frame analyses, and (3) the livelihoodstrategy of Duano household was maximizing the human capital of familymember. Economic behavior of Duano family member was oriented by (1) sharebelief, (2) socially constructed meaning about welfare and money, (3) the hope ofincentive structure, and (4) compliance to formal rules of Tribe CommunityResettlement Policy.Keywords: Socio-cultural Transformation, Sustainable Livelihood, LivelihoodChange, AMAN, Duano Tribe
