Abstract

Ekosistem terumbu karang Pulau Lembongan memiliki nilai sangat penting bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Pemanfaatan terdiri dari kegiatan: perikanan tangkap; budidaya perairan; perhubungan; dan pariwisata. Tingginya pemanfaatan kawasan terumbu karang dapat menurunkan daya dukung lingkungan. Beberapa indikator ke arah penurunan kualitas dan kuantitas terumbu karang adalah: 1. Pemanfaatan kawasan terumbu karang yang berlebihan; 2. Kegiatan pariwisata yang tidak ramah lingkungan; 3. Kegiatan investasi yang tidak sehat; dan 4. Perebutan kawasan pesisir antar stakeholder. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan kawasan terumbu karang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuisioner dan wawancara. Penelitian menunjukkan masyarakat Pulau Lembongan menyadari terumbu karang memberikan manfaat terhadap kehidupan seperti: terumbu karang sebagai rumah ikan dan karang berfungsi memecah gelombang. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap kondisi karang 10 tahun yang lalu dengan sekarang adalah terjadinya penurunan dalam kuantitas dan kualitas. Tingkat pastisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan dalam kategori tinggi, dimana: 1) masyarakat menyatakan siap melakukan upaya pelestarian lingkungan; dan 2) masyarakat ingin terlibat aktif dalam pelestarian lingkungan. Hal ini menunjukkan masyarakat menyadari ada kaitan antara karang dengan kehidupan masyarakat.Kata kunci: terumbu karang, masyarakat Pulau Lembongan, persepsi dan partisipasi

Abstract

Segara Anakan Lagoon (SAL) has the unique characteristics of the region with the high of natural resources biodiversity. The region of SAL is influences by natural factor (estuarine freshwater stream of Citanduy watershed and the high of sedimentation rate) and the variety of anthropogenic factor. The factors lead to the changes in land, because it triggers the decrease of the lagoon water bodies. The aim of the research is to know the changes of the region land use in SAL and its impact. Temporally spatial approach is required to evauate the influence of both factors. Spatial approach is done by using remote sensing method with Geographic Information System, with Multi-Temporal Landsat imagery data processing (the year of 1978, 1994, 2001, 2009, 2011 and 2016). It uses land classification technique (Supervised Classification). It is processed with ER Mapper 7.0 software and displayed with Arc GIS (Jpeg). The analysis result shows that there is 2.703,7 ha extensive shrinkage lagoon in 38 year (1978 - 2016) or there is 71.15 ha per year in land area increase in the last 38 years. It is supported with 4.741,36 ha residential land and 17.962,64 ha field land that cause the degredation of SAL region. The increase of SAL citizenary amount triggers the land conversion for the interest of the various anthropogenic activities. It is supported by the threat of natural factors of high sedimentation level that cause higher SAL pressure. In conclusion, it is needed evaluation and management strategies to overcome the changes of SAL land area by the local government and related parties.

Abstract

Untuk mengetahui potensi antibakteri dan konsentrasi optimal jeruju (Acanthus ilicifolius), dilakukan uji daya hambat ekstrak dan fraksi daun terhadap pertumbuhan Vibrio harveyi, bakteri penyebab penyakit pada udang. Daun yang sudah dikeringanginkan diekstraksi dengan metanol, sehingga didapatkan ekstrak kasar (crude). Sebagian dari ekstrak kasar dilakukan fraksinasi dengan metode kolom silika gel dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat, n-butanol, etanol, dan metanol. Uji daya hambat dilakukan dengan agar disc diffusion method. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah ekstrak kasar, fraksi n-heksan, etil asetat, n-butanol, etanol, dan metanol yang masing-masing konsentrasinya 50-1000 ppm, yang diberikan pada kultur V. harveyi pada media Triptic Soy Agar (TSA). Fraksi etil asetat menunjukkan daya hambat terbaik (12 mm), diikuti ekstrak (11,33 mm), dan fraksi n-butanol (11 mm).

Abstract

Brebes Regency is an endemic area of Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) and has the highest number of LF cases in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Despite it is located in the coastal region, which is already known as one of the risk factors of LF, the LF case is distributed more in rural areas, away from the shoreline. Adult mosquitoes need a particular site, called a resting place, to rest after and before biting for a blood meal. The purpose of this study was to analyze spatially the distribution of LF cases and mosquito resting places in three subdistricts whose highest LF case is in the Brebes Regency. The three subdistricts are rural areas. The observed resting places were cattle pens, unmaintained bushes, and maintained bushes. The data of LF patients were obtained from the Health Office of Brebes Regency, which stood at 14 patients. Spatial mapping of LF case and mosquito resting place distribution was composed. 4 patients were located in the mosquito flight radius from unmaintained bushes, 3 patients were located in the mosquito flight radius from cattle pen, and 7 patients were located in the mosquito flight radius from both unmaintained bushes and cattle pen. It indicated unmaintained bushes, together with cattle pen, are the favorable resting place contributing to LF transmission.

Abstract

Osmoregulation is a physiological adjustment mechanism of fish to environmental conditions. Fish growth performance will reduce when a large amount of energy is redirected for the osmoregulation process. The purpose of this study was to determine the osmotic work level (OWL), osmoregulation pattern, condition factor (K), gonad maturity stages (GMS) and analyze the relationship between OWL with condition factor and GMS of tilapia collected from three floating net cages in Cengklik reservoir, Boyolali. Samples were collected during March – April 2022 followed by some allometric measurements and regression analyses. The OWL of tilapia at the three cages ranged from 4 – 10 mOsm/L H2O; they performed a hyperosmotic osmoregulation pattern. The condition factor of male and female tilapia were1,86±0,21 and 1,89±0,18. GMS of both male and female tilapia was dominated by GMS IV with a fecundity of 9408±2092.54 eggs. OWL did not reveal a significant effect on condition factors or on the GMS of tilapia (p>0.05). Pearson correlation test showed a weak relationship between OWL with condition factors (r = 0,204) and tilapia GMS (r = -0,001). Therefore, tilapia uses less energy in osmotic work to produce good growth performance because it has more energy for growth, as indicated by the high condition factor (K>1) and domination by fish with GMS IV level of mature gonads.Keywords: Condition Factor; Gonad Maturity; Fish Cages; Oreochromis niloticus; Osmoregulation
