Abstract

Abstract : This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve the learning process and the result of learning mathematics by applying Discovery Learning model. Subjects in this research were students of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Rokan IV Koto in the second semester 2018/2019 academic year consisting of 12 male students and 14 female students. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (syllabus, Lesson Plans and Student Worksheet) and data collection instruments (observation sheets and learning outcomes test sheets). The observation sheet is used to obtain data on teacher and student activities during the learning process, while the mathematics learning outcomes test is used to obtain learning outcomes data. Based on the analysis of the observation sheet, it was found that the implementation of the learning process from cycle I to cycle II had improved. The results of learning mathematics of KBM students' knowledge indicators increased from a base score of 50% (13 students) to 57,69% (15 students) in the first cycle and increased to 69,23% (18 students) in the second cycle. The results of the KBM students' mathematics learning skills indicators experienced an increase from the base score of 57,69% (15 students), increasing to 69,23% (18 students) in the first cycle and increasing to 76,92% (20 students) in the second cycle. With these results it can be concluded that in learning there is an improvement in the learning process and improvement in the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Rokan IV Koto in the second semester 2018/2019 academic year through the application of the Discovery Learning model in the subject matter of Pola Bilangan.Keywords : Students’ Math Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve learning process and increase student’s mathematical achievement through implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with two cycle.The research was conducted in class VII2 SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru in the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The subject of this research consist of 33 students, there are 18 female students and 15 male students. The research instrument consists of learning materials and instruments for collecting data. Learning materials used in this research are the Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Activity Sheets. Instrument data collectors used in this research are observation sheet and mathematical achievement test. Application of PBL model also gives positive impact on the implementation of learning process that students become more active in learning activities so that learning is not centered on the teacher. Students are also trained to build their own knowledge and can find their own mathematical concepts through the presentation of problems close to the student's real life. The percentage of students which ispass Minimum Mastery Crieria (MMC) increase from 42,42% to 60,6% at the first test and to 81,8% at the second test. This research concludes that the implementation of PBL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical achievement atclass VII2 SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru. PBL model can be used as an alternative to learning, because through this learning can improve the learning process and mathematical achievement of the students.Key Words: Classroom Action Research, Problem Based Learning models, Learning outcomes,Learning Process

Abstract

Abstract: This classroom action research is aimed at improving learning process and improving math learning outcomes achievement by applying think talk write strategy in the cooperative learning. The subject of this research is students of class VIII2 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru in academic year of 2015/2016, there are 40 students in the class, consist 17 boys and 23 girls. The research consist of two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e; namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of a cycle, daily test was held. The data was collected by means of observation and daily test. The action success indicators were if there is learning process improvement and the increasing number of students passing Minimun Completeness Criteria (MCC) in daily test I and daily test II. The research shows that teachers and students’ activities were conducted well as planned. Most of the students participated actively in the learning process e.g. discussing, presenting student’s worksheet, responding to classmate’s presentation, and drawing the lesson conclusion. Additionally, the students afforded to answer the written test given by teacher well. Therefore, it can be said that improvement of learning process took place in every meeting. Furthermore, the number of students passing the MCC on base score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) were respectively 40%, 50%, and 70%. The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students’ learning outcomes also increse. The result of research conclude that applying think talk write strategy in the cooperatif learning can improves mathematics achievement VIII2 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Math Learning Outcomes, Think Talk Write Strategy in the Cooperative Learning, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the percentage of students who reached the KKM was 31%, namely 9 people out of 29 students, it was seen that 69% of students in Class VIIF of SMP 10 Tapung were under the KKM. The KKM set by the school for comparison material is 70. Based on these data, it can be said that the learning outcomes of Class VIIF students in Tapung 10 Middle School on the comparison material are still low. This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in school year 2018/2019 through the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model. The research subjects were VIIF students of 10 Tapung Junior High School in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 21 people. Data collection instruments in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, and teacher and student activity observation sheets, as well as daily test questions. The results of this study indicate that the average student learning outcomes increased from the basic score of 41.8 to the first cycle to 70.1 with an increase in percentage of 20.85%, then at the base level 41.8 to the second cycle 83.00 with an increase of 29.35%. While the average activity of teachers in the first cycle was 77.78 (moderate) and increased in the second cycle to 96.97 (Very Good) or increased by 37.5. Besides the activity of students with an average in the first cycle is 71.8 (Moderate) and increases in the second cycle to 97.4 (Very Good) or an increase of 35.42. Based on these results it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students have increased. Teacher activities and student activities at each meeting also increased. This proves that the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIF of Tapung 10 Junior High School.Key Words: Students Math Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model Type STAD

Abstract

Abstract: This reasearch is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the Problem Based Learning model. This research consists of two cycles, each cycle consits of four stages. The stages are, lesson planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The mathematic quiz was given at the end of every cycles. The data needed are teacher’s activities data and student’s activites data collected by observation techniques and analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results shows that the implementation of the learning process in the second cycle improves from the first cycle. The data obtained from the student mathematics learning outcomes quizzes shows that the competence of knowledge and skills frequency of students at low and very low intervals decreases from the base score to the Quizze I score and to the Quizze II score as well as in the frequency of students at high and very high intervals increases from base score to Quiz I score and to Quiz II score. The result of this study indicates that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and improve mathemtics learning outcomes of students in class VII Hang Kesturi SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020.Key Words: Mathematics Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

AbstractThe research was classroom action research that aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes with applied the cooperative learning pair check structural approach. The subject of the research is students of class VIII-9 SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2013/2014. There are 32 students in the class, consist of 13 boys and 19 girls who have heterogeneous academic ability. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle of daily tests carried out. Data collected through observation and tests in the form of daily tests. Data analysis was performed with analysis of descriptive narrative and descriptive statistical analysis. The action is successful if the number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria increase in daily tests I and II. The number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria on basic, daily test I (first cycle) and daily test II (second cycle) are respectively 40.63%, 68.75%, dan 87.5%. Minimum mastery criteria attainment percentage indicates that the cooperative learning cooperative learning pair check structural approach can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes math class VIII-9 SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Pair Check, Class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low yield of learning mathematics in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru, there are 7 of 25 students who achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria or 28% for linear equations and inequalities of one variable. The type of this research is classroom action research. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning process and improve communication skills by applying mathematical models of cooperative learning Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD). The subject of this research were the students in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru at the first semester of academic year 2014/2015. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and mathematical understanding tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed that there is the improvement of learning process after the action on the first and second cycles. The result showed that there is an increase the mathematical understanding of students with the score N-gain is 0,63 in the first cycle and 0,76 in the second cycle at medium classification. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of cooperative Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) to improve mathematical communication graders understanding of students in class VIIA3 MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru in the first semester of academic year 2014/2015.Key Word : Mathematical communication skills, cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD)

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the students achievement in learning mathematics especially grade VIIIa of MTsN Pangean under the Mastery Minimum Criteria with percentage of20%on the test about The equation Linier Two Variables. This research is a class action research. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning result in mathematicswith applied of the model learning cooperative type of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). The subject of this research were the students in the class VIIIa of MTsNpangean at the second semester of academic year 2016/2017that consist of 16girls and 9boys.The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and student’s mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, while the student’s mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic desciptive.The descriptive narative showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematic from the basic score with percentage 20% to 24% on the first test and 44% on second test.On the analysis of KKM achievement, thestudents math achievement has increased from the base score to cycle I and cycle II. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning with the application of the cooperative type STAD can improve the student’s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VIIIa of MTsN Pangean in the second semester of academic year 2016/2017.Keyword: Students Math Achievement, Cooperative Learning, The Type Student Team Achievement Division,Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract : This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes of mathematics class of fifth SDN 6 Talang Mandi by implementing cooperative learning in the structural approach Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS). The subjects of the research were the fifth grade students SDN 6 Talang Mandi who have the heterogeneous academic ability. This research is a class act with two cycles. The first cycle consists of four times and one UH and the second cycle consists of three times and one UH. This research has four stages are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of the observation show the teachers and students activities have done after the action. Increasing the number of students who achieve at UH KKM in every end of each cycle compared to the number of the students who achieve a score of KKM on basic score. The results of this study indicate that application of cooperative learning in the structural approach TSTS can improve the process of learning and improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade of mathematics students at SDN 6 Talang Mandi in the odd semester of academic year 2013/2014.Keywords: Learning Process, Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning, TSTS, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstrack: The background of this study is students low in mathematical of VII grade at SMP Negeri 4 Mandau. The aimed of study is to find out whether there is significant effect of using “problem based learning model” toward students mathematical of VII grade at SMP Negeri 4 Mandau. The study employed the pre-experimental research focus on the static group comparison study design. The sampling of technique was purposive. The samples were two classes that have been purposive sampling after normality test and homogeneity test with the class as an experimental class and control class as a class. There were two sampling in this study; the experimental class was using “problem based learning model” and the control class with scientific approach learning. Data analysis technique used was t-test . Based on the final results of data processing obtained t > t table (1.714 > 1.666) meaning that the application of methods of problem based learning affect learning outcomes in mathematics class VII SMP Negeri 4 Mandau on the material algebra. The finding of this research showed experimental class better than control class (78.13 > 71.13). So, it can be concluded there was significant effect of using problem based learning model toward student’s mathematical of VII grade at SMP Negeri 4 Mandau on the first semester academic years 2016/2017 on the material algebra.Key Word : The result of mathematical, problem based learning model, pre-experimental research.
