Abstract

Payment system innovations as the efforts to meet the people’s needs have recently risen several new non-cash-based payment instruments, such as card-based payment transactions. The upheaval of card-based non-cash transactions has indirectly shifted the role of cash in the society. This research aims to see the effect of cards as payment instruments represented by both debit and credit cards on money velocity in Indonesia within the period of 2016M1 to 2020M6 using the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) analysis method. The research findings show that long-run card-based payment instrument has a significant effect on money circulation in Indonesia. It means that money velocity in Indonesia is not constant. Money velocity is a key concept in monetary theories and an important element for monetary analysis. Therefore, it is important for central bank to monitor and understand the money velocity trends to provide long-term benefits. The research findings are also expected to provide an additional insight to policymakers, especially central bank as monetary authority doe to the possibly occurring risks caused by the money circulation instability in economy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the causality of Domestic Investment (PMDN), Foreign Investment (PMA), and Labor Absorption in Indonesia. This type of research is descriptive and associative research that is research that describes the research variables and find the presence or absence of causality between each of these variables. The type of data in this study are secondary data and panel data from 2013-2017 per Province in Indonesia. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis and inductive analysis. In inductive analysis there are several tests, namely: Analysis of Vector Auto Regression (VAR), Empirical Model Analysis of Vector Auto Regression (VAR), Steps of Analysis of Vector Auto Regression (VAR) such as: Root Unit Test (Panel Root Test), Coordination Test ( Panel Cointegration Test), Optimum Lag, Granger Causality Test, Stability Test, Implementation of Vector Auto Regression (VAR) Models. The results of this study indicate that (1) domestic investment and foreign investment are not qualified in Indonesia, (2) foreign investment and absorption of unsuspected workers in Indonesia, (3) domestic investment and absorption of qualified workers in Indonesia.

In this study, the objects in this study are 33 provinces throughout Indonesia. The data used are from 2010 to 2019. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical method used is the VAR (Vector Auto Regression) time series analysis and the cluasaility granger test. which is processed using the help of Eviews. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it shows that: (1) There is no causal relationship between local government revenue and local government expenditure in 33 provinces in Indonesia, but what is formed is a one-way relationship between government revenue and local government expenditure in 33 Indonesian provinces. Data is processed by panel data analysis, there are several tests on inductive analysis, namely: (1) Panel Regression Model (2) Classical Assumption Test (3) t test (4) f test. From the tests that have been done, the results show (1) that there is a significant and negative influence between education and income inequality in Indonesia. (2) there is no significant and negative influence between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and income inequality in Indonesia.
