Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the difference between problem solving skill of students by using the contextual teaching learning and conventional learning.            It is an experiment research. There are groups of the samples in this research, they are experiment and control groups. The experiment group learns the mathematics by using contextual teaching learning, while the control group learns the mathematics by using conventional learning. To get the data of this research, the researcher uses two kinds of instruments; test and observation. The subjects of this research are the students of PGMI STAIN Jurai Siwo in the fourth semester of the academic year 2009/2020.            The result of this research is obtained after the treatments are given in experiment and control group. The result is there are significant difference between the students who learn mathematics by using contextual teaching learning and conventional learning.Based on the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that problem solving skill of students by using the contextual teaching learning is very different from conventional learning. In this research, it is known that the students who learn mathematics by using the contextual teaching learning are better than the students who learn by using conventional learning. They can build their knowledge actively, so they can find the concept or procedure of the mathematics (inquiry) by themselves. By this inquiry process, the students’ understanding about mathematics is more meaningful.Kata kunci: Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), and Problem Solving skill.

Abstract

One of the mathematics characteristic is an abstract teaching object. Moreover, one of the elementary school students characteristics are still at concrete operation step. The abstractners of mathematics is one of the causes of some students particulary state islamic elementary school’s students face hard to learn. Therefore, it needed a mediator or a bridge for concreting the abstract teaching object. That mediator called as a model. The model of mathematics can be mean as an equipment of concrete thing which are design, make and arrange intentionally for helping and understanding the concept or principal of mathematics.The model of mathematics which can use in learning mathematics is the wide permanence model, the length permanence model, the model of volume permanence, the model of nulerous permanence, the model of experiment in probability concept, the model of measurement in mathematics, the shapes of geometry and the model of games.Key word : The model of mathematics

Abstract

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic made elementary students even more difficult to master math material. The purpose of this study was to describe how online learning can increase the difficulty of learning mathematics for elementary school students. This research was conducted in a descriptive qualitative manner involving 31 students, 9 parents, and class IV teachers of MIN 4 East Lampung. Interviews and documentation are used to obtain primary and secondary data. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely reduction, display, and data verification. The findings of this study are 1) there has been a decrease in mathematics learning outcomes in elementary school students as a result of online learning, 2) an increase in mathematics learning difficulties experienced by students in online learning, and 3) aspects that cause an increase in mathematics learning difficulties in online learning. Thus online learning at the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic had a negative impact on increasing math learning difficulties for elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstract Online learning carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in the ability to understand mathematical concepts for elementary school students. The purpose of this study is to describe how online learning causes a decrease in the ability to understand concepts. This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 26 students and a class VI MIN 4 East Lampung teacher. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out through three stages, namely reduction, display, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the decline in the ability to understand mathematical concepts in elementary school students is influenced by the application of online learning, including limited student meetings with teachers directly, interaction between students and teachers who are not optimal, lack of student learning assistance, lack of independence of students studying at home, and characteristics of mathematics learning. Thus, online learning has a negative impact and hinders the improvement of elementary students' mathematical abilities Keywords: Understanding of mathematical concepts, mathematical ability, online learning, Covid-19 Abstrak Pembelajaran online yang dilaksanakan selama masa pendemi covid-19 telah menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa sekolah dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana pembelajaran online menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kemampuan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitan deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan 26 siswa dan seorang guru kelas VI MIN 4 Lampung Timur. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi, display, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya penurunan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada siswa sekolah dasar dipengaruhi oleh penerapan pembelajaran online, diantaranya terbatasnya pertemuan siswa dengan guru secara langsung, interaksi siswa dengan guru yang tidak maksimal, kurangnya pendampingan belajar siswa, kurangnya kemandirian siswa belajar di rumah, dan karakteristik pembelajaran matematika. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran online memberi dampak negatif dan menghambat peningkatan kemampuan matematis siswa SD. Kata kunci: Pemahaman konsep matematis, kemampuan matematis, pembelajaran online, Covid-19.

Abstract

AbstrakBerdasarkan hasil belajar mata kuliah matematika SD/MI, mahasiswa PGMI IAIN Metro mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal terutama pada soal cerita non rutin atau soal problem solving. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika khususnya soal problem solving masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji efektifitas bahan ajar matematika yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa PGMI. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan, yaitu sebuah proses yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan dan memvalidasi produk pendidikan. Produk yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar berupa Lembar Kegiatan Mahasiswa (LKM). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, tes, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Sedangkan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar berupa Lembar Kegiatan Mahasiswa materi geometri layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa PGMI. Selain itu, bahan ajar materi geometri efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa PGMI IAIN Metro.Kata kunci: bahan ajar, geometri, pemecahan masalah AbstractBased on the learning outcomes of mathematics SD/MI, the students of PGMI IAIN Metro have difficulty in solving of questions, especially on non-routine story or problem solving. This shows that the ability of students in solving mathematical problems, especially about problem solving is still low. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of mathematics teaching materials that can be used to improve the problem solving mathematics skills of PGMI’s students. This research is a development research, which is a process used to develop and validate educational product. The product of this research is a teaching materials in the form of Student Activity Sheet (LKM). Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, tests, documentation, and interviews. While, the technique of analysis data is descriptive analysis. The results showed that the teaching materials in the form of Student Activity Sheets of geometry material is feasible to improve the problem solving mathematics skills of PGMI’s students. In addition, the teaching material of geometry is effective to improve the problem solving mathematics skills of Students of PGMI IAIN Metro.Keywords: teaching material, geometry, problem solving

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase the creative thinking skill of students by using the mind map method. It is a classroom action research which is done by two cycles. The subjects of this research are the fifth semester students of PGMI STAIN Jurai Siwo in the academic year of 2012/2013. To get the data of this research, the researcher uses two kinds of instruments; they are test and observation. The test is done to get data of creative thinking skill of student, and observation is done to get data of learning process by using the mind map method. Based on the result of the test, it shows that creative thinking skill of students increase significantly after the mind map method is done. It is suitable with the result of t-test of creative thinking skill of students before and after the mind map method is done. Class A and B have significant value (P-value) 0.000. This significant value (P-value) is less that 0.05. Therefore, Hypothesis state that there is no different means between pre-test and post-test in creative thinking skill of students, it is refused. It means that the means of pre-test and post-test in creative thinking skill of students are different significantly. Thus, the learning by using the mind map method significantly can increase the creative thinking skill of the fifth semester students of PGMI STAIN Jurai Siwo in the academic year of 2012/2013

Abstract

One of the efforts to see the achievement of learning objectives is by doing activitiesevaluation of learning outcomes using quality test instruments. This study aims to determinethe quality of odd mid-semester test items in mathematics for class VIII at SMPN 2The end of the 2020/2021 school year which was carried out during the covid-19 pandemic.This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects of this research are students class VIII at SMPN 2 Punggur for the 2020/2021 academic year. Data collection techniques using the method documentation. The data used are student answer sheets and questions on the test mid semester. The analysis was carried out in terms of content validity, reliability, discriminatory power, level of difficulty, and effectiveness of distractors with the help of Microsoft Excel program.The results of this study indicate that, 16 items have very high validity, 4 items have high validity, and has reliability in the high category, of 0.77. 1 item has a distinguishing powervery good, 10 items have good discriminating power, 8 items have quite good discriminating power, and 1Items have very poor discriminatory power. 15 items have a moderate level of difficulty, and 5Items have an easy level of difficulty. 12 items have very good distractor effectiveness, 6 the items have good distractor effectiveness, and 2 items have poor distractor effectiveness.Thus, there are 14 items of very good quality, 4 items of good quality, and 2 items ofquestions are of medium quality.

Abstract

Learning models that are only applied to face-to-face or online learning do not place students in learning situations anytime and anywhere. A conducive learning situation is important to design, especially in improving creative thinking skills, which include high-level abilities. The purpose of this paper is to describe how the blended learning model is able to provide wide space and opportunities for students to be actively involved in learning so as to foster creative thinking skills in problem solving. This research is an experimental study involving only one group. Data collection techniques used are tests, observations, and documentation. The research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The findings of this study are that 1) the blended learning model is proven to be effective in improving students' creative thinking skills, and 2) student involvement in learning has a positive impact on increasing creative thinking skills. Thus, blended learning learning designs that place students in learning situations without limitations of space and time are considered more effective in improving creative thinking skills
