Abstract

The rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) is a kind of plant that produce rice which is the become main food for majority of Indonesian people. The total of people that rise increasingly must balance with the increasing of  rice production. One of the methods to get the increasing of rice production is applying the System of Rice Intensification (SRI).This research aims to determine the intraction of seeds number and the best fertilizer on the growth and production of lowland rice. The experiment sites in lowland field of Balai Benih Induk Holtikultura, Kaharudin Nasution Street, Padang Marpoyan, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province.Started on March Until July 2012. Research using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial, the first factor consists of 4 threatments (1 seed/hole,2 seeds/hole, 3 seeds/hole, 4 seeds/hole) and the second factor consists of  3 treatments: Fertilizer Urea, SP-36, KCl,  P1( 60, 30, 30) g,  P2 (90, 60, 60) g and P3 (120, 90, 90) g. The measured parameters were plant height, number of totaltillers, number of productive tillers, harvest, long tassel, tassel amount per branch, 1000 seed grain weight,  weight of dry unhusked rice per plot. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance and further test by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The best treatment was obtained at 3 seeds per planting hole and Urea fertilizer dosage of 120 g/plot + SP-36 60 g/plot + KCl 60 g/plot to increase the production of milled rice per plot. Abstract

Corn is the second of carbohydrate sources after rice that holding the most important role as a food source. Sweet corn is the one kind of corn that most people liked. This corn lifespan is early-ripening, have a high price and contain a high sugar that resulting as a business with a good prospects. The one ways that we can do to get a good productivity is with fertilizing. Fertilizing with organic compound such as compost can reduce the toxicity, plant nutrient buffer, repairing soil structure, increasing the efficiency of fertilizer, reducing the risk of erosion and helping on increasing supplied of macro and micro nutrient. This research aim is to get the best richer substance for corn manure compost that can support sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) growth and productions. This research implementing experimentally used Complete Random Design, contain 5 treatments with 4 replications. The observing parameter is plant high, weight of dry plant, appearing of male flower, appearing of female flower, corn stem diameter, corn stem length, corn stem weight without husk per plot (g), analysis of C-organic, N, P and K contained on compost. The gained data analyzing used random analyzes and continued with Duncan test leveled 5 %. This research result showed that giving a corn manure as richer substance can increasing N, P and K of corn manure compost and give a same response at growth but it can increasing the sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) productions. Abstract

Palm oil (elaeis guineensis jacq.) are still plant unseeded in the agricultural sector indonesia and especially riau. Area palm oil a plant any it increased. A nursery palm oil is the first step very the success planting in the field, this needs to be done technique cultivation capable of producing seeds quality, one through fertilization in a nursery. Research aims to understand the effects of interaction urine cows and compost rind cocoa and to get treatment best in growth seed palm oil in main nursery. Experimental research conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, from April to August 2015. The research uses design  Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorials consisting of 2 the test 3 and obtained unit experiment 27. Urin beef consisting of C0: without cow urine, C1: cow urine 10 ml/liter, C2: cow urine 20 ml/liter. The compost consisting of K0: without compost, K1: compost 100 g/plants and K2: compost 150 g/plant.Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%.The result showed that cow urine influential real against broad leaves palm oil, but influential not real against high, diameter holm and the number of midrib palm leaves. factor compost rind cocoa show real impact on high, diameter holm and the number of midrib leaves palm oil, but influential not real against broad leaves palm oil. Combination cow urine  20 ml/liter and compost 150 g/plant raise high, holm diameter, the number of midrib leaves and broad leaves palm oil. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of the provision of solid waste PKS and manure and to get the best treatment on the growth of immature oil palm trees. This research has been conductedat the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from March to June 2016. This research arranged experimentaly by using Block Randomized Design (BRD) consisting of 2. The first factor is the aplication of solid waste PKS comprising: a dose of solid waste PKS 0 kg / plants, 10 kg / plant, and 15 kg / plant. The second factor is the aplication of phosphorus fertilizer comprising: a dose of fertilizer P 0 kg / plant, 0,5 kg / plant, and 0,6 kg / plant. Of the two factors obtained 9 combination treatment and each treatment was repeated 3 times, so there are 27 experimental units. Data were analyzed statistically and continued using DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters measured were increase of height, increase the number of midrib, the width of the leaf, and the length of the leaf. The result showed that the interaction of solid waste administration PKS and fertilizer P gives no real effect on all parameters except as height. The aplication of solid waste MCC dose of 15 kg / plant and P fertilizer dosage of 0,5 kg / plant is the best treatment to the growth of oil palm plantation immature. Keywords : Palm Oil Plant, Solid Waste MCC, Phosphorus.

Abstract

This research aimed to look the influence of the combination of green fertilizer Azolla pinnata with guano toward the growth and production of pakchoy and to obtain the best treatment from Azolla pinnata with guano toward pakchoy. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of Farming Faculty of Riau University. This research was accomplished during 3 months that was from June to August 2014. It was carried out experimentally with Group Random Design (GRD), the treatment given which consisted of several stages; P0 = without any treatment ( 0 kg/plot), P1 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P2 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot, P3 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P4 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P5 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P6 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot. Every treatment was repeated 3 times so that it was obtained 21 experiment units. Every experiment unit consisted of 36 plants and 3 of them was being sample. The observed parameters were that the tall of plants, the amount of leaves, the wide of leaves, the weight of plants and the weight of plants which were deserve to consume. The obtained data was analyzed statistically with analysis of varience and continued to Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% degree. The fertilizing combination of 1,5 kg/plot Azolla Pinnata and 0,3 kg/plot guano was the best treatment in raise the growth and production of  pakchoy. Keywords: Pakchoy, Azolla pinnata, Guano

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of volcanic ash and get the best treatment to the growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings in main nursery. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted from March to August 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replicates that contained 15 experimental units. Each unit consist of 2 seeds, so the total crop was 30 plants. Parameters measured were the increase seedling height, the number of leaves increase and the increase hump diameter. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further tested using Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test at the level of 5%. The results of the research showed that significantly affects the volcanic ash on increase of seedling height and seedling hump diameter. The treatment of ash volcanic 100 g/plant gives the best seedling growth of all observed parameters in main nursery. Keywords: palm oil, growth, volcanic ash

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of sawdustash and guano fertilizer on the growth and production of pepper plants in peatland as well as to get appropriate dose of sawdust ash and manure guano. This research was conducted at the experimental peat garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, RimboPanjang, Kampar. The research lasted for five months, from December 2013 until May 2014. The experiments was conducted using factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors and three repetition. The first factor is the sawdustash 10 ton / ha (4 kg/plot), 20 tons / ha (8 kg/plot), 30 t / ha (12 kg/plot) and the second factor is the guano fertilizer, 100 kg / ha (40 gram/plot), 200 kg / ha (80 gram/plot), 300 kg / ha (120 gram/plot). Parameters measured were plant height, days to flowering, fruit length, fruit diameter, harvesting age, fresh fruit weight and fruit weight per plot. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range test at 5%. The result show that the best dose for enhancing chili growth and production is 20 ton/ha (8 kg/plot) sawdust ash and 300 kg/ha (120 gram/plot) guano fertilizer. The best treatment parameters: flowering age, harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fresh fruit weight, fruit weight per plot.   Keywords: chili,sawdust ash, guanofertilizer and peatland

Abstract

The research purpose to know the effect of molases for growth and yield white oyster mushroom with sawdust of mahang and rice bran media. This research already held in mushroom house at kempas XIII street, Pandau Permai, Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. This research conducted for 4 months from August until November 2017. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) one factor with four replicaton. The factor various contentration of molases,      M1 = 68 cc/l, M2 = 136 cc/l, M3 = 204 cc/l, M4 = 272 cc/l, M5 = 340 cc/l and M6=408 cc/l. The result of research showed the molases with different concentraion give significanly different for various parameter, like time mycelium fullgrow in baglog, first time pinhead grow, diameter of oyster, weight of the white oyster mushroom and interval of harvest, but not significantly different for first time mycelium grow and amount of oyster.Keywords : white oyster mushroom, molases, sawdust of mahang, rice bran

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of rice husk charcoal and trichoazolla compost on growth and production of upland rice and to obtain the best combination of treatments. This research was conducted at Agriculture Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang Sub District, Kampar Regency from January to April 2017 by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of            2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is T0: without rice husk chacoal, T1: Rice husk charcoal 2,5 t.ha-1, T2: Rice husk charcoal 5 t.ha-1 and T3: Rice husk charcoal 7,5 t.ha-1.             The second factor was P1: Trichoazolla compost 3 t.ha-1, P2: Trichoazolla compost 6 t.ha-1 and P3: Trichoazolla compost 9 t.ha-1. The results of this research indicate that the interaction of husk rice and trichoazolla compost increases growth and yield of upland rice plants and is seen in the number of all tillers, number of productive tillers, plant height, panicle length, percentage of pithy rice and weight of 1000 grains of grain. Grams of rice husks 5 t.ha-1 and compost trichoazolla 6 t.ha-1 are the best doses. Keywords: rice husk charcoal, trichoazolla compost, gogo rice, peat land.

Abstract

Efforts to obtain the good quality of seedling wos required a proper fertilization that is by giving  horn beetle lava feces (Oryctes rhinoceros). The aim of this research is to know the effect of the interaction of horn beetle lava feces (kolarhino) and NPK fertilizers and to the amount of NPK absorption and to get the best dose on the growth of palm oil seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)in the main nursey.This research has been conducted in Experimental Station  Agriculture Faculty in Riau UniversityPekanbaru.The study was conducted for three months from August to November 2016.Field experiments were conducted using a complete factorial randomized design and three replications. The first factor of giving kolarhino consists of four levels, namely: 0 g per plant, 25 g per plant, 50 g per plant, 75 g per plant.The second factor of NPK compound fertilizer (15:15:15) consists of four levels, namely; 0 g per plant, 2.5 g per plant, 5.0 g per plant, 7.5 g per plant.The result of this research showed that significantly influenced on increase  height  seedlings,  the increase stem diameter root volume, root volume, dry weight of seedlings, N uptake , and  uptake P. While NPK fertilizer has significant effect on leaf number, root volume, dry weight of plant, and P absorption. Giving kolarhino 50 and 75 gr per platn showed better results for the growth of oil palm seedlings.  NPK fertilizer gave significant effect to the number of leaves root volume, dry weight of plants and phosphorus uptake. NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed better result for the growth of oil palm seedlinhs. Giving kolarhino 50 and NPK fertilizer 2.5 gr per plant showed the best possible results for the growth of iol palm seedlings. Keywords: Nursery, palm oil, larval feces, NPK compound.
