Abstract

Corn is the second of carbohydrate sources after rice that holding the most important role as a food source. Sweet corn is the one kind of corn that most people liked. This corn lifespan is early-ripening, have a high price and contain a high sugar that resulting as a business with a good prospects. The one ways that we can do to get a good productivity is with fertilizing. Fertilizing with organic compound such as compost can reduce the toxicity, plant nutrient buffer, repairing soil structure, increasing the efficiency of fertilizer, reducing the risk of erosion and helping on increasing supplied of macro and micro nutrient. This research aim is to get the best richer substance for corn manure compost that can support sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) growth and productions. This research implementing experimentally used Complete Random Design, contain 5 treatments with 4 replications. The observing parameter is plant high, weight of dry plant, appearing of male flower, appearing of female flower, corn stem diameter, corn stem length, corn stem weight without husk per plot (g), analysis of C-organic, N, P and K contained on compost. The gained data analyzing used random analyzes and continued with Duncan test leveled 5 %. This research result showed that giving a corn manure as richer substance can increasing N, P and K of corn manure compost and give a same response at growth but it can increasing the sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) productions. Abstract

This research aimed to look the influence of the combination of green fertilizer Azolla pinnata with guano toward the growth and production of pakchoy and to obtain the best treatment from Azolla pinnata with guano toward pakchoy. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of Farming Faculty of Riau University. This research was accomplished during 3 months that was from June to August 2014. It was carried out experimentally with Group Random Design (GRD), the treatment given which consisted of several stages; P0 = without any treatment ( 0 kg/plot), P1 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P2 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot, P3 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P4 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P5 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P6 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot. Every treatment was repeated 3 times so that it was obtained 21 experiment units. Every experiment unit consisted of 36 plants and 3 of them was being sample. The observed parameters were that the tall of plants, the amount of leaves, the wide of leaves, the weight of plants and the weight of plants which were deserve to consume. The obtained data was analyzed statistically with analysis of varience and continued to Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% degree. The fertilizing combination of 1,5 kg/plot Azolla Pinnata and 0,3 kg/plot guano was the best treatment in raise the growth and production of  pakchoy. Keywords: Pakchoy, Azolla pinnata, Guano

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of sawdustash and guano fertilizer on the growth and production of pepper plants in peatland as well as to get appropriate dose of sawdust ash and manure guano. This research was conducted at the experimental peat garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, RimboPanjang, Kampar. The research lasted for five months, from December 2013 until May 2014. The experiments was conducted using factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors and three repetition. The first factor is the sawdustash 10 ton / ha (4 kg/plot), 20 tons / ha (8 kg/plot), 30 t / ha (12 kg/plot) and the second factor is the guano fertilizer, 100 kg / ha (40 gram/plot), 200 kg / ha (80 gram/plot), 300 kg / ha (120 gram/plot). Parameters measured were plant height, days to flowering, fruit length, fruit diameter, harvesting age, fresh fruit weight and fruit weight per plot. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range test at 5%. The result show that the best dose for enhancing chili growth and production is 20 ton/ha (8 kg/plot) sawdust ash and 300 kg/ha (120 gram/plot) guano fertilizer. The best treatment parameters: flowering age, harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fresh fruit weight, fruit weight per plot.   Keywords: chili,sawdust ash, guanofertilizer and peatland

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of rice husk charcoal and trichoazolla compost on growth and production of upland rice and to obtain the best combination of treatments. This research was conducted at Agriculture Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang Sub District, Kampar Regency from January to April 2017 by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of            2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is T0: without rice husk chacoal, T1: Rice husk charcoal 2,5 t.ha-1, T2: Rice husk charcoal 5 t.ha-1 and T3: Rice husk charcoal 7,5 t.ha-1.             The second factor was P1: Trichoazolla compost 3 t.ha-1, P2: Trichoazolla compost 6 t.ha-1 and P3: Trichoazolla compost 9 t.ha-1. The results of this research indicate that the interaction of husk rice and trichoazolla compost increases growth and yield of upland rice plants and is seen in the number of all tillers, number of productive tillers, plant height, panicle length, percentage of pithy rice and weight of 1000 grains of grain. Grams of rice husks 5 t.ha-1 and compost trichoazolla 6 t.ha-1 are the best doses. Keywords: rice husk charcoal, trichoazolla compost, gogo rice, peat land.

Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of the interaction of azolla green fertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet cornand get the best treatment combination. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau Bina Widya campus km 12,5 Simpang Baru, Kecamatan Tampan, Pekanbaru. Conducted from March to June 2017. This research uses Factorial Random Design (RAL) which consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of Azolla pinnata green fertilizer consisting of 4 levels: 0 ton/ha, 1,5 ton/ha, 3 ton/ha, and 4,5 ton/ha. The second factor is NPK fertilizer consisting of 4 levels: 0 kg/ha, 75 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, 225 kg/ha. The parameters observed were relative growth rate, height of plant, number of leaves, time of male flower, time of female flower, age of harvest, weight of cobs weighing per plot, weight of cobs without weight per plot, length of cob, and number of rows. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with vocabulary and continued by Duncan's multiple-range test at 5%. The results showed that the interaction of Azolla pinnatagreen fertilizer and NPK significantly affected the relative growth rate and height of plant, and the effect was not significant on the number of leaves, time of male flower, time of female flower, age of harvest, weight of cobs crawledweighing perplot, weight of the cobs without weightper plot, length of cob and the number of raws. Azolla pinnata green fertilizer 3 ton/ha and NPKfertilizer 150 kg/ha is the best combination on growth and yield of sweet corn. Keywords: Azolla pinnata, NPK fertilizer, sweet corn

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of the provision of solid waste PKS and manure and to get the best treatment on the growth of immature oil palm trees. This research has been conductedat the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from March to June 2016. This research arranged experimentaly by using Block Randomized Design (BRD) consisting of 2. The first factor is the aplication of solid waste PKS comprising: a dose of solid waste PKS 0 kg / plants, 10 kg / plant, and 15 kg / plant. The second factor is the aplication of phosphorus fertilizer comprising: a dose of fertilizer P 0 kg / plant, 0,5 kg / plant, and 0,6 kg / plant. Of the two factors obtained 9 combination treatment and each treatment was repeated 3 times, so there are 27 experimental units. Data were analyzed statistically and continued using DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters measured were increase of height, increase the number of midrib, the width of the leaf, and the length of the leaf. The result showed that the interaction of solid waste administration PKS and fertilizer P gives no real effect on all parameters except as height. The aplication of solid waste MCC dose of 15 kg / plant and P fertilizer dosage of 0,5 kg / plant is the best treatment to the growth of oil palm plantation immature. Keywords : Palm Oil Plant, Solid Waste MCC, Phosphorus.

Abstract

Okra is a vegetable plant have long been cultivated in Indonesia, has many benefits, but have not been a lot of consumption. Okra can grow well on sandy soils with high organic matter.This research aims to examine the effect of interactions as well as the main factors of TrichocompostTKKS and N, P, K fertilizersand get a dose of trichocompost interactions of N, P, K fertilizers better against the growth of crops and okra. This research was conducted at the experimental garden ofthe Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in January-April 2018 in the form of experiments multiplied with 3x4 arranged according to RAL. The first factor of the Trichocompost (T), namely: T0 = without trichocompost, T1 = 5 ton.ha-1and T2 = 10 ton.ha-1. The second factor of N, P, K fertilizer: N0= without fertilizer N, P, K, N1 = (35 kg N, 18 kg P2O5, 30 kg K2O).ha-1, N2 = (46 kg N, 27 kg P2O5, 45 kg K2O).ha-1,N3= (57,5 kg N, 36 kg P2O5, 60 kg K2O).ha-1.The results showed that the interaction Trichocompost TKKS and fertilizers N, P, K has significant effect on flowering age and the dry weight of the plant. The trichocompostTKKS has significant effect on the number of leaves, against the weight of the fruit per plant, the dry weight of the plant, while N, P, K fertilizer gave significant effect on plant height, flowering age, weightfruit per plant, weight dried plants. Trichocompost 5 tons.ha-1 and N, P, K(35 kg N, 18 kg P2O5, 30 kg K2O).ha-1can give you the best results against the growth of crops and okra. Keywords: Okra, Trichocompost, Urea, SP-36, KCl fertilizer

Abstract

Red onion plant is one of the annual plant that has important economic value. This plant is usually used as cooking spice and traditional medicine. The low productivity of red onion plant is due to limited availability of agricultural land. Efforts for development of red onion need to be done by applying verticultural farming system. This study aimed to look at the effect of kind of planting medium with verticultural technique on growth and yield of red onion plant and to get the best kind of planting medium. The field experiment was conducted in the Faculty of Agriculture experiment station Riau University located in Pekanbaru from August to October 2018. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 replications. The factor was kind of planting medium, which were husk charcoal, cocopeat and sawdust. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers, tuber diameter, weight of tuber, dry weight of tuber worth storage. Data obtained from this study were analized statistically by using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested by further testing (DNMRT) level of 5%. The results showed that the giving of cocopeat planting medium can increase plant height and diameter of red onion plant. The giving of husk charcoal planting medium can increase the number of tuber. Abstract

The aim of the study was to obtain the better growth oil palm seedlings by providing trichocompos from basic ingredients and different doses. This study uses a cluster randomized design method (CRD) in 9 treatments and 3 replications.Observed including: seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root canopy ratio, seedling dry weight and seedling quality index. The results showed that only the height of the oil palm seedlings was better given by the composision corn waste, market waste and cattle rumen trichocompos in 10-20 ton.ha-1 doses. Height of oil palm seedlings was increased by giving trichokompos based on corn waste or cattle rumen at doses of 15 and 20 ton.ha-1. Increased root canopy ratio increased by trichokompos based on corn waste and cattle rumen as much as 50 g.polybag-1.Keywords: Palm oil seedling, composision of basic materil and doses trichokompos

Abstract

The purpose of the experiment was to determine the effect of interaction between the composition of compost and P fertilizer on the growth and yield of soybean crops on peatlands and to get the best combination of treatments. 36 experimental plots measuring    2m x 3m and eight parameters were observed, including relative growth rates, plant height, flowering age, harvest age, percentage of pithy pods, seed yield per m2, weight of 100 seeds and harvest index. This experiment used factorial randomized block design (RBD) method. The results showed a significant increase in compost effect on plant height, harvest age and weight of 100 seeds of soybean plants and P fertilizer application significantly affected harvest age, seed yield per m2 and weight of 100 seeds of soybean plants, but the interaction of the two factors was not significantly different all parameters. The best combination of treatments is by giving 20 tons of ha-1 compost and a 100 kg P P2O5. Ha-1 P fertilizerKeywords:soybean, chromolaena odorata, peat soil
