Abstract

Cacao is a commodity plantation crops of high economic value and potential as a foreign exchange earner of the country. Planting medium is one of the factors that affect the growth of the cacao plants in the nursery, so we need organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer. The objective of this study to know the effect of bioslurry fertilizerand fertilizer N, P, K and interaction both on the growth of seedlings of cacao (Theobroma cacao L). Research conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from January until the month of April 2015. This research was conducted by using aCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial, the first factor is the bioslurry fertilizerwith 4 levels (0, 50, 100 and 150) ml/ seedling and the second factor is N, P2O5, K2O with 4 levels (0, 1, 2, and 3) g/ seedling. The combination is repeated 3 times so that there are 48 units of trial and each experimental unit consists of 4 plants, so the total is 192 plants. Parameters measured were seedling height (cm), number of leaves  (pieces), stem circumference (cm), root volume (ml), leaf area (cm2 ), dry weight (g), and the ratio of root and crown and root dry weight. Statistical analysis using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test at 5%.The results showed that the interaction bioslurry fertilizerand treatment and fertilizer N, P, K effect no significant effect on seedling height, number of leaves, stem circumference, volume root, leaf area, dry weight, and the ratio of root and crown and root dry weight. Administration of 100 ml of bioslurry fertilizerand 2 g of N, P, K is the best treatment on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area and root volume .  Keywords:Bioslurry fertilizer, N, P, K and  Cacao

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a commodity that produces vegetable oils are important in beside coconut, nuts and corn. Palm oil plantations in Riau province ranks first in comparison to other plantations such as palm, rubber and cocoa. According to the Stastik Central Bureau in 2011 vast palm oil plantations of Riau reached 2,256,538 ha. Most of the plant is less productive because of age and need rejuvenation. Nurseries is one aspect of agronomy that was instrumental in the early stages of crop management to be cultivated. Planting medium used in palm oil nurseries is topsoil with a thickness of 10-20 cm from the ground. Alternative medium that can be used is marginal soils such as sand. Sand can be used for the planting medium with the addition of organic fertilizer and Arbuskular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF). Mycorrhizae is a form of mutualitik symbiotic relationship between fungi with plant roots, fungi or plants both equally benefit from this association. The research with experiment by methods completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 6 times to obtain 18 experimental units, each unit comprising 2 plant experiments. There treatment is giving of AMF : C0 = Giving AMF with a dose of 0 g/polybag, C1 = Giving AMF with a dose of 10 g/polybag, C2 = Giving AMF with a dose of 20 g/polybag. The results of this study showed that giving of Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi in planting medium is not a real effect on seedling height, leaf length, number of leaves, fresh weight, ratio of dry weight of roots and canopy of palm seedlings. The best treatment was obtained by administration of AMF 10 g/polybags in the nursery medium.   Keywords: Pre Nurseries, Arbuskular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF), Palm Oil Seed, Growth and Development.

Abstract

Okra is a type of high nutritious vegetable which, if consumed regularly, can prevent various diseases. The elongated and widening okra leaves cause the leaves located under the shade and are not exposed to sunlight, so the lower leaves become photosynthate competitors between the lower leaves and the fruit. To fulfillment of nutrient needs of okra plants can utilize organic material in the form of cocoa pod waste which is processed into compost. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of interactions and the main factors of cocoa pod compost and defoliation and to obtain a dose combination of cocoa pod composts and the best defoliation on the growth and yield of okra plants. This research has been carried out at the University of Riau Faculty of Agriculture Research Station in May-August 2018 in the form of experiments with a 4x2 faction arranged according to CRD. The first factor was cocoa pod compost (K), namely: K0 = without Composted Cocoa pod, K1 = 4 ton.ha-1, K2 = 8 ton.ha-1 and K3 = 12 ton.ha-1. The second factor was defoliation (D), D = = without defoliation, D1 = defoliation. The results showed that the interaction of cocoa pod compost and defoliation had significant effect on the parameters of total fruit weight of plants and plant photosynthesis rates. The application of  cocoa pod compost has no significant effect on all parameters, while defoliation has a significant effect on the intensity of the light being continued.Keywords :Okra, Cocoa Pod Compost, Defoliation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of POC banana skin nutrition and the use of plant medium and to obtain the best combination of treatments on the growth and yield of hydroponic cultivated tomato plants. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru from June to October 2017. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL). The first factor is POC nutrients of banana skin with concentrations of: 20 ml.l-1 water, 35 ml.l-1 water, and 50 ml.l-1 water. The second factor is planting medium that is Charcoal husk, Cocopeat and Charcoal husk + cocopeat (with ratio 1: 1). The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, percentage of flower to fruit, number of fruit crops, age of first harvest, weight per fruit, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant. Provision of POC banana peel 35 ml.l-1 water in husk charcoal medium to increase the growth of plant height, the percentage of flowers into fruit, the number of fruit crops and the weight of fruit crops. Keywords: nutrition, planting medium, hydroponics

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving trichokompos waste water hyacinth and to get the best dose on the growth and production of pakcoy. This study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design. The treatment in this research is dosage of trichokompos waste water hyacinth which consist of 5 levels were : 0 kg.ha-1(T0),1,5 kg.ha-1(T1), 2 kg.ha-1(T2),2,5 kg.ha-1(T3), and 3 kg.ha-1(T4). The observed data were analyzed statistically using analyzed of varian and tasted further by DUNCAN’S new multiple range test of 5%. The result of this research indicate that giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth can increase the growth and production of pakcoy. The giving of trichokompos waste water hyacinth dose 3 kg per plot produces pakcoy’s best growth and production.Keywords: pakcoy, Trichokompos, waste eceng gondok

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of  Kascing fertilizer and P fertilizer and the best combination in improving growth and yield of shallots. This research has been conducted in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau from May until July 2017. The research was conducted experimentally by using Completely Randomied Design (RBD) with two factors and three replications. First factor was giving kascing fertilizer with three levels which is 2 kg per 2m2,4 kg per 2 m2 and 6 kg per 2 m2. The second factor was giving P fertilizer with three levels which is 13 g per 2 m2,26 g per 2 m2 and 39 g per 2 m2. Parameters observed were plant height, number leaves per clump and number bulbs per clump, bulbs diameter, weight of fresh bulbs per 2 m2, and weight of tuber worth to save per2 m2. The result showed that kascing fertilizer and P fertilizer had no effect to all of parameters which is plant height, number leaves and number bulbs, bulbs diameter, weight of fresh bulbs, and weight of tuber worth to save . Kascing  fertilizer had effect to all parameters except number leaves per clump and number bulbs per clump, meanwhile P fertilizer had no effect to all parameters except number of leaves per clump.Giving 2 kg per 2 m2 kascing fertilizer and giving 13 g per 2 m2 P fertilizer been able to improve plant height, number leaves and number bulbs, bulbs diameter, weight of fresh bulbs, and weight of tuber worth to save shallots varieties Bima Brebes.Keyword:shallot, kascing fertilizer, P fertilizer

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the interaction of giving composted contains cow rumen and NPK fertilizer, main factor are contains cow rumen and NPK fertilizer and to get the best treatment to supporting the seedling growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) on main nursery. This research had been conducted on the experimental garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from May to September 2015. This research had been conducted in 4 x 4 factorial experiment arranged with completely randomized design consisted of two factors. The first factor is the of composted contains cow rumen consisted of 4 levels are 25 g/plant, 50 g/plant, 75 g/plant, and 100 g/plant and the second factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer consist of 4 levels are 1,5 g/plant, 2,0 g/plant, 2,5 g/plant and 3,0 g/plant. In this research there are 16 combinations treatment with 3 replications thus obtained 48 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of two seedling so total number are 96 seedlings. Observation were carried out are increase of plant height, increase of leaf number, increase of diameter hump and leaf wide. The result showed that the interaction composted contents cow rumen and NPK fertilizer gave unreal effect. Composted contents cow rumen treatment and NPK fertilizer treatment were gave unreal effect. To get maximum result need continuous research with increasing dose of composted content cow rumen and NPK fertilizer.   Keywords : Composted contents cow rumen, palm oil, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

The aimed of research was studied the effect of application of organik and KCl for growth and yield of purple sweet potato and get the best treatment combination. This research has been conducted in the experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Jalan Bina Widya, Baru Simpang Village, District Tampan, Pekanbaru.in August 2016 until November 2016. This research using Factorial Random Design (FRD) Factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor is the provision of organic fertilizer. cattle manure, forage of gliricidia sepium, and compost of empty palm oil bunch (OPEBC,) of 10 ton/ha. The second factor is the dosage of KCl fertilizer consisting of 4 levels: K0: Without KCl, K1: 50 kg/ha, K2: 100 kg/ha, K3: 150 kg/ha.The research parameters were stem length, number of primary branch, stem length, tuber diameter, fresh tuber weight/plant, fresh tuber weight/m2, tuber number/plot and yield index. The data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and continued with Duncansfurther Test at 5% level. The results showed that organic fertilizer and KCl fertilizer had significant effect on tuber diameter, fresh tuber weight/plant, fresh tuber weight/m2, tuber number/plot, yield index, and no significant effect on stem length, number of primer/plant branch and length tuber, Provision of composted fertilizer OPEBC 10 ton/ha and KCl 100 kg/ha fertilizer can increase the growth and yield of sweet potato crops. Keywords: Purple sweet potato, forage of gliricidia sepium, organic fertilizers

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of chicken manure and peat mixture with PMK medium and its interaction with the growth of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) In the main nursery, as well as to get the best combination treatment. This study was conducted over four months from the month of December 2015 to April 2016. The research was conducted dikebun trial Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Campus Bina Widya Km 12.5 Baru Simpang Village, District Handsome, Pekanbaru. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors, the first factor is the dose of chicken manure which consists of three levels ie P1 (chicken manure 100g/polybag), P2 (chicken manure   150 g/polybag) and P3 (chicken manure 200g/polybag). The second factor is the growing medium mixture consisting of three levels ie T1 (ratio between peat and PMK 1: 1), T2 (comparison between peat and PMK 1: 2) and T3 (comparison between peat and PMK 2: 1). Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that each experimental unit obtained 27 experimental units are 2 seed. The parameters measured were seedling height increment, the increase in diameter stump, in the number of leaves and leaf area. Based on the results of research to get the growth of oil palm seedlings tend to be good with chicken manure at a dose of               200 g/polybag and medium mixture of peat with PMK 2: 1. Keywords: Palm Oil, Chicken Manure, Peat and PMK

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of chiken manure and various doses of urea fertilizer on Palm Oil seedling growth (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the Main Nursery, as well as to obtain the best combination of treatments. This research lasted from August 2013 to November 2013 at Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau. Research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), 2 factors with 3 replications. First factor: Chiken Manure K0 (Without treatment) K1 (25 g/polybag) and K2 (50 g / polybagy), and second factor: Urea Fertilizer U0 (without treatment), U1 (0.45 g/polybag) U2 (0.91g/polybag) and U3 (1.82 g/polybag). Parameters measured were additional seeds height, additonal stump diameter, additional number of leaves, root volume, shoot root ratio and dry weight. Data were analyzed using the F test and test of Duncan New’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) 5%. The results shows the use of chicken manure reveal significant value on increasing the stump diameter, shoot root ratio and dry weight of plants and the use of urea fertilizer effect on all parameters, increasing the plant height, diameter of the stump, number of leaves, root volume, shoot root ratio and dry weight of plants, while the combination of chiken manure and urea fertilizer reveal no effect on all parameters.
