Abstract

One aspect of the 2013 curriculum that needs to be improved is textbooks. Textbooks play a role in helping teachers deliver material and can assist students in supporting the material presented by the teacher. The reality in the field is that teachers are reluctant to use students' mathematics textbooks including the 2017 revised edition of class viii semester 1 mathematics books. This is because there are still some errors and also books are still difficult for some students to understand. The purpose of this study was to analyze the errors contained in the mathematics books of class viii students regarding relations and functions. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive research design. The validity of the data used data triangulation and referential adequacy. The results showed that there were still 6 concept errors, 2 image errors and 15 writing errors. From these findings, it can be said that the quality of this book is not yet optimal and that there is a need for improvement so that it fits the original purpose of making the book.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa MA dalam pemecahan masalah berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan kemampuan matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 siswa kelas XI MIPA MAN 1 Lamongan yang terdiri dari satu siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keakuratan dan kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah akurat dan lancar. Kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah lengkap sedangkan siswa laki-laki hanya tidak lengkap untuk menggunakan aturan. Keakuratan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah akurat untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya serta membuatkan kesimpulan sedangkan siswa perempuan adalah akurat untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya serta membuatkan gambar/sketsa. Kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah hanya lengkap untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya. Kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah lancar. Keakuratan dan kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika rendah adalah hanya akurat dan lengkap untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya. Kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika rendah adalah tidak lancar.

Abstract

Sebelas pola berbeda jaring-jaring kubus tidak dikenali sebagian besar siswa (Shadiq, 2006). Pembelajaran jaring-jaring kubus dikenalkan dengan suatu media yang berbentuk kubus. Media tersebut dipotong berdasarkan rusuknya sedemikian sehingga terbentuk satu jaring-jaring kubus. Untuk menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus yang lain dibutuhkan media lagi yang serupa. Penggunaan media seperti itu kurang efektif untuk menemukan berbagai macam pola jaring-jaring kubus. Media kubus guling berwarna (meku-guwa) adalah salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Satu meku-guwa dapat menentukan berbagai macam pola jaring-jaring kubus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivan penggunaan media kubus guling berwarna dalam menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 5 siswa kelas VII MTs Amanatul Ummah Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 siswa dari 5 siswa yang berhasil menemukan minimal 5 pola berbeda jaring-jaring kubus dalam waktu 30 menit. Hasil ini memberikan arti bahwa penggunaan media kubus guling berwarna dalam menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical reasoning in solving problems in cube and beam material in terms of independent and dependent field cognitive styles. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method is carried out by the test and questionnaire method. The study was conducted by giving 2 written test items about solving cube and beam problems as well as a questionnaire of independent and field dependent cognitive style tests at the beginning and end of the study. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of the study show: (1) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with independent field cognitive style on cube and beam material are able to pass 4 indicators better than students with field dependent cognitive style; (2) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with the field dependent cognitive style on the cube and beam material are only able to go through 2 lower indicators than students with independent field cognitive style.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze book errors in the material of Linear Equations and provide alternative solutions. The results of this study can be used as consideration in improving the book. This type of research is descriptive analytical research that describes a problem and the results are analyzed to find conclusions. The results showed that there were still some errors in the Junior High School Mathematics book for Linear Equations. These errors are spelling and writing errors, computational errors, problem errors and conceptual errors. The error is then given an alternative solution for further book development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the metacognition of XI grade students of SMA Hasyim Asy'ari 1 Pucuk in problem solving of sequences and series of numbers in high, medium and low ability students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted online using whatsapp social media. The research instrument is the researcher himself supported by written tests and interviews. The subjects of this study were six students consisting of one student with high ability, two students with moderate ability and two students with low ability. The results of this study indicate that students with high abilities have good declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge and conditional knowledge. Students with high abilities are also able to use good planning skills, monitoring skills and evaluation skills. Students with moderate ability have declarative knowledge, good procedural knowledge and good conditional knowledge. Students with moderate abilities are also able to use planning skills, monitoring skills well and do not have evaluation skills. Students with low abilities only have declarative knowledge. Students with low abilities also only use planning skills.

Abstract

Balongdowo Village is one of 25 villages located in Kepohbaru sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java Province. The village of Balongdowo has a village hall that has TV and WIFI facilities, and the problem here is that the password from the wifi can be used by the general public, resulting in children of student age coming to the village hall to play online games or just internet. And in terms of things that make children become lazy to learn, especially the culture of literacy that has recently been greatly reduced and the emergence of online games that make children forget the importance of learning, especially reading. For this reason, the writer has the thought to create a superior program from KKN in the village of Balongdowo, which is to create a village library. That aims to make children who are still students to read books more often and gradually leave the habit of playing online games. The aim of the library here is the development of human resources who are able to manage information and publications in line with the development of information technology, with the method of making a book twice a week, the results that can be achieved are making Balongdowo villagers love to read, and likewise the continuation of the program will be continued by village officials or village youth as well as a follow-up program for next year in order to be able to continue in the footsteps of village in balongdowo in 2019 which is to update the library which is very useful in the village.
