Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ problem-solving skills and to describe the implementation of creative problem solving (CPS) model in Mathematics Education students of the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar in its program. This research was a classroom action research which involved 33 students with two cycles (1 cycle was 4 times meeting). The cycling stage consisted of planning, action, observation, reflection. Data collection through observation, test result, and student response were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The research finding was: Implementation of learning model (CPS) can improve students’ problem-solving ability which can be seen from the increasing of solving ability from 63,03 (enough) to 77,72 (high). Effective learning (CPS) implementation with learning implementation indicators improved from less category to excellent category; student activeness increased from active category to highly active category, and student responses were in a very positive category. (2) Implementation of Learning Model (CPS) can be implemented through five stages: clarification of the problem; disclosure of ideas; evaluation; and implementation. Keyword: Learning Model, Creative Problem Solving (CPS), and Problem Solving Ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP yang pembelajarannya melalui model kooperatif tipe Pair Checks (2) hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII yang pembelajarannya melalui model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (3) Perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Pair Checks dengan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Labakkang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIIIE sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas VIIIG sebagai kelas eksperimen II. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah The Pretest – Posttest Experimental Group Design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu :(1) tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk essay yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan,(2) Lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1)kelas Eksperimen 1: skor rata-rata posttest 91,25 lebih besar daripada skor rata-rata pretest 44,00 dengan standar deviasi masing-masing pretest 11,45 dan posttest 7,38. Pada kelas eksperimen 2 : skor rata-rata posttest 85,75 lebih besar daripada skor rata-rata pretest 49,78 dengan standar deviasi masing-masing pretest 15,86 dan posttest 10,17. (2) Dari perolehan hasil belajar dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dari kedua kelas tersebut disimpulkan bahwa kelas yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share lebih baik dibandingkan kelas yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Pair Checks pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Labakkang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimen yang melibatkan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen One-Group Pretest-Postest Design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran matematika melalui Model Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation (GI) pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Sidrap dengan sampel 32 orang siswa. Data dikumpul dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen penelitian yaitu tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi dan angket. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul telah dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptip dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X IIS2 SMA Negeri 3 Sidrap setelah diterapkan Model Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation (GI) mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai gain ternormalisasi berada pada interval g≥0,7 yang menandakan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar yang terjadi dikategorikan tinggi. Aktivitas siswa yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan pembelajaran dari aspek yang diamati secara keseluruhan dikategorikan aktif. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan perolehan rata-rata persentasi aktivitas siswa yaitu sebanyak 81,47,% aktif dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study aims to determine the problem solving ability and reasoning ability of students in understanding exponential and logarithms material. The type of research in this study is qualitative research. To express this ability used a mathematical ability test instrument and conduct interviews. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class X MIPA of SMA Negeri 7 Mallawa, which were then chosen by 1 person each for low, medium, and high ability levels. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and interviews were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The results showed that the problem solving ability of students with low ability was in the students' inability to understand the problem and the lack of understanding of the concept of logarithmic concepts and exponents, for students who were capable of being there were still improper completion steps. As for students who are highly capable have been able to identified the elements present in the problem, able to understand the problem and solved the given problem. Where as the mathematical reasoning ability of students with low ability is very lacking because they are unable to complete the answers and cannot write the characteristics of logarithms and exponents, while for students with medium and high ability the reasoning ability are quite well proven by their ability to place the characteristics of logarithms and exponents correctly and  they are able to used the properties of exponents and logarithms in solving problems properly.problem solving ability, reasoning ability, logarithms exponential

Abstract

<p><span style="text-align: justify;">The application of a new paradigm in the form of a learning model that is adopted from outside and adapted in schools requires students and teachers to change their teaching and learning behavior. Constructive interaction between students and their peers, students and teachers, student-teacher problems are very difficult to condition. This is due to conventional teaching which conditions students to passively receive knowledge. This is evident from student activities, students are reluctant to ask the teacher and their friends even though they are given encouragement and motivation. Smart students prefer to work alone and if they have difficulty directly asking the teacher without passing the results of their group discussions. Maximum results are expected to be achieved, if the application of the new paradigm of learning mathematics is more adapted to the natural way students learn mathematics, and is also more in accordance with the essence of developing mathematical thinking skills. Learning is sought to be more meaningful in local culture and in the learning process incorporating cultural systems and cultural values found in the community in the area where students are, therefore, the purpose of this study is to formulate and compile a mathematics learning model based on A'Bulo Sibatang culture in the classroom. V SD in Bulukumba Regency. This type of research is the development of A'Bulo Sibatang-based mathematics learning model through the development of learning models, tools and instruments in an effort to improve the character of students in mathematics learning by implementing local culture in learning. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the a'bulo sibatang-based learning model was valid and met the effective criteria and the level of practicality of the model was in the high category.</span></p><p> </p>

Abstract

The aims of this study to know the effectiveness of think pair share cooperative model toward the mathematics learning outcomes for students in class VIIIB SMPN 3 Sungguminasa. This research was a pre-experimental research, the design was anone group pretest-posttest which involved in one class during 5 meetings. The learning achievement test, student activity observation, and student questionnaire responses were applied for collecting data.The data analyzed by descriptive and inferensial technique.The results showed that the average score of learning outcomes before being taught mathematics learning with the application of think pair share cooperative model was 37.10 with standard deviation 12,169, which showed that completeness classically was not achieved, while the average score the average mathematics learning outcomes of students after being taught mathematics learning with the application of the think pair share cooperative model was 84.17 with standard deviation 67.57 having achieved classical completeness with a normalized gain value of 0.73 being in the high category. Student activities in the active category where the average percentage 82.49%. Student positive responses showedthe average percentage was 94.29%. Based on these results it can be concluded that mathematics learning through the application of think pair share cooperative model in class VIIB SMPN 3 Sungguminasaapplied effectively.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan Buku Kerja persamaan diferensial pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Unismuh Makassar Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Prosedur penelitian dalam mengembangkan Buku Kerja berdasarkan pengembangan yang dipaparkan oleh Bord & Gall terdiri dari 8 langkah, yaitu: (1) pengumpulan informasi; (2) perencanaan; (3) pengembangan desain produk; (4) validasi desain produk; (5) revisi produk; (6) uji coba produk; (7) revisi produk; dan (8) produksi Buku Kerja. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh validitas RPS dan Buku Kerja yang dikembangkan. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian 2 validator, diperoleh nilai rata-rata total validitas Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) sebesar 3,78 dan termasuk dalam kategori ”Sangat Valid”. Nilai rata-rata total validitas Buku Kerja sebesar 3,60 dan termasuk dalam kategori ”Sangat Valid”, sehingga Rencana Pembelajaran Semester dan Buku Kerja ini dinyatakan memenuhi kriteria validitas dan dapat digunakan dengan sedikit revisi. Uji coba produk Buku Kerja kepada mahasiswa bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemenarikan produk Buku Kerja dan diperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 3,61 berada pada kategori ”Sangat Menarik”. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk Buku Kerja layak digunakan, khususnya pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar.Abstracts:The purpose of this research was to know the development process of student exercise book of differential equation in Mathematics education department of FKIP Unismuh Makassar academic year 2019/2020. The research procedures in developing of student exercise book based on Bord & Gall which consisted of 8 steps, namely: (1) collecting information; (2) planning; (3) developing the design product; (4) validating the design product; (5) revising the product; (6) testing; (7) revising; dan (8) producing exercise book. The result indicated that RPS (semester lesson plan) and the student exercise book base on 2 validators’ assessment were valid. The findings showed that the mean score of RPS was 3.78 which was categorized “very valid” and exercise book gained 3.60, also in “very valid” criteria. The findings indicated that RPS and exercise book fulfilled the validity criteria and were eligible to use with a little revision. While the product was tested to the students to find how interested the exercise book. Generally, the mean score gained was 3.61 which included in “very interesting” criteria. Therefore, the exercise book was eligible to use especially to the students of Mathematics education of FKIP Muhammadiyah university in Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, effective, and practical HOTS-based worksheet for calculus courses in the Mathematics Education Department. The development of the worksheet is expected to improve critical and creative thinking skills, which is implemented through the Online Learning System (SPADA). This research is development research with the research subject being 27 students of Mathematics Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The instruments used in this study were instrument validation sheets, test, and student response questionnaires. This worksheet development process is adapted from the model of development of the 4-D models, which consists of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results of the validation assessment were an average score of 3.61 in the valid categories. The result of the lecturers' practicality at 3.6 with the practical category. Furthermore, the results of the effectiveness assessment through the HOTS test showed that the percentage of classical completeness was 86.7%. The students' responses showed a positive response to this worksheet. The assessment results showed that the average pretest was 46.85, while the postest was 74.81. There is an increase in the average value of higher-order thinking skills from pretest to postest in field trials. So it produces worksheets based on HOTS through SPADA that have met the valid, practical, and effective aspects and can facilitate students in practicing their higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal high order thinking skills (HOTS) ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir logis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 27 siswa kelas XI SMAN 2 Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar yang dipilih 1 kelas dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir logis, tes kemampuan menyelesaikan soal HOTS, dan wawancara. Instrumen tes diadopsi dari instrumen baku yang divalidasi ahli. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan hasil wawancara diolah dengan mereduksi, menyajikan, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir logis berada pada kategori rendah sedangkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal HOTS berada pada kategori sedang. Selanjutnya, aspek kemampuan berpikir logis ditemukan bahwa siswa kategori tinggi (T) mampu memenuhi kriteria level C4, C5, dan C6 sedangkan siswa kategori sedang (S) dan kategori rendah (R) hanya mampu memenuhi kriteria level C4 dan C5. Secara umum siswa masih kesulitan memenuhi level C6 dan kemampuan C6 siswa masih tergolong rendah. Kendala yang dihadapi siswa (S) dan (R) dalam memenuhi aspek C6 yaitu siswa mengalami kesulitan dan kendala dalam menerjemahkan permasalahan kedalam kalimat matematika, siswa belum mampu memberikan cara pandang terhadap suatu persoalan sehingga belum bisa mengeluarkan ide dan merancang solusi secara mandiri untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam mengambil keputusan.Kata Kunci: berpikir logis; kemampuan HOTS AbstractThe main purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the ability to solve HOTS questions in terms of students' logical thinking abilities. This type of research was a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 27 students of class XI State Senior High School 2 of Kabupaten Selayar Regency who were selected from 1 class using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used a logical thinking ability test, a test of the ability to solve HOTS questions, and interviews. The test instruments were adopted from standard instruments which were further validated by experts. The results of the study concluded that the students' logical thinking skills were in the low category, while the students' ability to solve HOTS questions was in the medium category. From the aspect of logical thinking ability, it was found that students with high categories were able to meet the criteria of C4, C5, and C6 while students with medium categories (S) and low categories (R) were only able to meet the criteria of C4 and C5. In general, students still have difficulty meeting the C6 level (creating) and it was still low. The obstacles faced by students (S) and (R) in fulfilling aspects of C6 were students experiencing difficulties in translating problems into mathematical sentences and have not been able to provide a perspective so that they cannot issue ideas and design solutions independently to solve problems in making decisions.Keywords: HOTS ability; logical thinking

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran matematika melalui penerapan model Reciprocal Teaching Setting Kooperatif pada  siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bulukumba tahun ajaran 2018/2019 dengan  mengacu pada indikator keefektifan pembelajaran, yaitu hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas siswa dan  respon siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel eksperimennya adalah siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 15 Bulukumba. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar (pretest dan posttest), lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis statistika deskriptif menunjukkan:(1) rata-rata hasil pretest siswa yaitu 7,65 berada pada kategori sangat rendah. Rata-rata hasil posttest  siswa yaitu 77,7 berada pada kategori sedang, (2) hasil pretest menunjukkan ketuntasan klasikal 100%  tidak tuntas. Hasil posttest menujukkan ketuntasan klasikal  tercapai yakni 85% (17 siswa) mencapai ketuntasan individu,(3) rata-rata gain ternormalisasi sebesar 0,75 (kategori tinggi),(4) rata-rata presentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 84%, (5)rata-rata presentase respon positif siswa 83%. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan: (1) nilai rata-rata siswa yang diajar  dengan model Reciprocal Teaching Setting Kooperatif lebih besar dari 73 (KKM),(2) nilai rata-rata gain ternormalisasi lebih besar dari 0,3 (kategori sedang). Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Reciprocal Teaching Setting Kooperatif efektif digunakan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bulukumba.
