Abstract

This paper describes and explains the self experience of motive behind the preacher choosing to preach. Preaching experiences in Ambon City still get scorn, insult, ridicule from multicultural environment. Environment treats them with apathy, lack of acceptance, recognition, and less respected in preaching. The preacher conveys communication message of Islam, it is still not able to open mind and awareness, in fact, there are many muslims still follow their ancestor doctrines and cannot think crtically. Messages of religious communication should be communicated sympathetically and rationally. This research used subjective interpretive method with phenomenology approach. Researchers explored self experience preacher, conducted by using data collection through in-depth inter-views and participatory observation with supporting data based on social action perspective. The results showed that the subject interpreted himself choosing preacher as profession for reason and purpose motive in preaching communica-tion. Preacher communication action is not “single,” there is another phenom-enon shows the double motive of preaching, though the phenomenon is not likely to appear.

Abstract

Bakupukul manyapu is a ritual whipping each other's limbs to hurt and bleed with healing oils Mamala as nonverbal communication. The purpose of this study is to find and explain the motives, meaning and experience of Mamala society do bakupukul manyapu ritual communication. The research method using the phenomenological method that focuses on the study of meaning bakupukul manyapu ritual communication the perspective Mamala community who experience it. The research uses a qualitative approach based on constructivist paradigm with the technique of collecting data through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, study, library and documentation with supporting data based on Phenomenology perspective, symbolic interaction and social construction theory. The subject is Mamala society the perpetrator bakupukul manyapu with the purposive sampling technique. The result that Mamala society the bakupukul manyapu have a motive "because" that is the motive proud, call, test yourself, and prove, and the motive "for" attention, self-status, self-publication, and self-identity. Bakupukul manyapu experience the pain early, bloody body lashes, whip instead of the mayhem, physical appearance, the blood is dirty, self-confidence, and oil treatment. Bakupukul manyapu meaning is the offering, solicitation, hope, and social solidarity. Meaning construction that bakupukul manyapu is interesting tradition, whipping each other, challenging the local wisdom, confidence, and trust in the conduct of treatment the indigenous Mamala Moluccas of tradition ritual communication.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse of the symbols Ma’atenu ritual communication process of Pelauw Muslims community. Ma’atenu is an integral part of rituals society, held as the fusion of Islamic teachings interaction with the values of local wisdom. The rituals started with prayer using various media such as machetes, swords, tifa, tambourine, and immune test to from as power of ancestral spirits by cutting, slicing and stabbing body parts such as stomach, chest, hands, feet, neck, cheeks, tongue, and head. This research employed a subjective interpretive paradigm with ethnography communication approach by Dell Hymes based on symbolic interaction perspective. Involving 17 informants with one ma’ahala lahat, one ma’ataru ame, three kings of the country, three mothers and/or wives, and the remaining nine practitioners of ritual communication actions from the western, southern and eastern sectors chose purposively. The study finds that Ma’atenu communication event act as symbols of the ritual home clan (small clan, parent clan, and merger clan), the sacred meal, self-cleaning action ritual communication action, self-cleaning action, and fabric wreath. Any communication event represents symbols of devotion, struggle, disposal of a bad attitude, immunity and power, and self-recovery. Communication consists of pattern between communication components that forms pattern within Ma’atenu rituals appear in plea to God, veneration of ancestral spirits, and social solidarity of Muslims in Pelauw.

Abstract

This article discusses the pattern of impression management carried out by the da'i on the front stage in an effort to improve the quality of message transformation to mad’u. Through a good impression management, the persua­sion process occurs which allows the conveyed messages to be well received by mad'u with fullly awareness, not by force. Using dramaturgy approach, researchers conducted participatory observation and in-depth interviews towards 15 da'is in Ambon City who were chosen purposively. This study has revealed that during proselytizing, the da'is manage the impression on the front stage by utilizing verbal and nonverbal communication through the management of situational, planned, and spontaneous impressions.

Abstract

Komunikasi agama merupakan tindakan komunitas Muslim-Kristiani berdasarkan kepercayaan melakukan proses komunikasi. Komunikasi agama bagian media rekonsialisasi masa rehabilitasi pasca konflik dalam kehidupan beragama di Kepulauan Maluku. Beberapa platform simbol-simbol kehidupan beragama, seperti gong perdamaian, penjulukan, dan basudara samua dijadikan relasi harmonisasi, di sisi lainnya menunjukkan dishamonisasi. Namun perkembangannya simbol-simbol kehidupan beragama melalui komunikasi agama, cenderung memahami nilai-nilai keyakinan dengan emosional, kebhinekaan perbedaan, sikap eksklusivitas, pembiaran kemungkaran, trauma psikologi komunikasi, segregasi wilayah, dan fanatisme beragama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode diskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan perspektif tindakan sosial, fenomenologi, dan interaksi simbolik. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan komunitas Muslim-Kristiani memaknai dirinya beragama melalui interaksi dan komunikasi dengan perlakuan penerimaan beragama positif dan negatif berdasarkan pengalaman komunikasi agama kebhinekaan ketidaknyamanaan dan harmonisasi beragama di Kepulauan Maluku.

Abstract

Menulis karya ilmiah ataupun yang sejenisnya menjadi tuntutan profesi untuk pengembangan karir guru. Namun belum semua guru terampil dalam membuat artikel ilmiah. Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan ini, yaitu: (1) meningkatkan pengetahuan guru Sekolah Dasar tentang bentuk artikel ilmiah, (2) meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra tentang jurnal nasional bereputasi, dan (3) mengetahui keberhasilan pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan. Metode presentasi dan ceramah, tanya-jawab, dan diskusi digunakan dalam pelatihan ini. Kegiatan pelatihan dipusatkan di SD Inpres Desa Latu Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat-Maluku dengan melibatkan 17 guru (1 laki-laki; 16 perempuan), dilaksanakan selama sehari (23 Desember 2022). Keberhasilan kegiatan diukur pada tingkat keikutsertaan, arestasi, dan kesinambungan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pemahaman peserta dengan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan, 70% peserta mulai paham bentuk artikel ilmiah, jurnal nasional bereputasi, dan semua peserta (100%) memberikan respon positif terkait pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Penggunaan waktu dan penyebaran informasi yang terlalu singkat merupakan sumber keterbatasan pelatihan yang perlu untuk diperbaiki. Peserta pelatihan mengharapkan adanya tambahan waktu dan kegiatan sejenis yang dapat membantu mereka melakukan publikasi pada jurnal. Tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta sudah membuat artikel ilmiah dan pendampingan publikasi artikel pada sistem publikasi jurnal.
