Abstract

Since the beginning of the Christianity, Gnosticism is a challenge to the Christian faith. The Church’s Fathers called gnostic a source of all heretics. Generally, gnostic has a dualistic system; good-evil, light-darkness, world of pleroma – material world. The True God is completely transcendent. The universe is created by the lower God, and belongs to the material world. Human being is a composite nature, created by by the lower God but has a divine spark within. Through the achievement of gnosis human being can liberate the divine spark from the prison of the material world. In gnostic system Jesus Christ is a Messenger of Light who teaches gnosis to his disciple. His role is not other than a teacher who helps his disciple to know gnosis. Nowadays, gnostic system appears in some psychological practices, meditation and spiritual movement centered on the self-manifestation.

Abstract

Religions in a pluralistic society meet two main challenges, namely religious pluralism and the crying of the oppressed. Religious studies have to take serious consideration of the presense of other religions as well as to engage in an interreligious dialogue and to participate in the struggle of the oppressed. This article proposes religious studies that is both interreligious and liberative.

Abstract

The Message of the Holy Father John Paul II for 36th  the World Communication Day 2002, reflects on the means of the Internet for evangelization, "Internet: A New Forum for Proclaiming the Gospel". The Internet is a new “forum” into which the Holy Father encourages the Christians to follow the Lord's command to "put out into the deep”: Duc in altum! (Lk 5:4). The subsequent Messages for the World Communication Day give  some directions to the Christians on the internet as a new social communication media. Internet is modern Aeropagus, which is unifying humanity and connecting each other in the same time, and has its own languages and cultures. It is a challenge for evangelization. The Holy Fathers not only invites to use internet as means of proclaiming the Gospel, but integrates the message of the Gospel in it.

Abstract

Iman menjadi plausibel dalam diskursus hidup yang berlangsung dalam paguyuban iman, sehingga iman terjalin dengan soal hidup. Oleh karena itu, pantas diperhatikan proses penegasan dalam Gereja setempat, pembawa warta kabar gembira di dunia, pada sisi mereka yang tersingkir dan miskin.Karangan ini memperkenalkan sekaligus merefleksikan suatu proses seperti itu. Dalam, rangkaian Temu-Pastoral keuskupan Agung Semarang, umat menegaskan Arah Dasar Keuskuan, sekaligus membentuk diri sebagai communion of communities, yakni persekutuan dari peguyuban basis gerejawi, yang menghayati iman secara inklusif-toleran dalam tanggung jawab sosial-politik sehari-hari. Proses ini mengandaikan bahwa wujud hidup umat telah berubah dari Gereja-pelayanan menjadi Gereja peguyuban-peguyuban yang berkumpul dalam tanggung jawab manusiawi (basic human communities), untuk menghayati iman dalam hidup pribadi dan sosial yang aktual. Peralihan itu menggeserkan pusat grafitasi Gereja pada jemaat basis, membuka dalam hidup jemaat setempat suatu sumber baru bagi inisiatif kristiani, menempatkan para pelayan pastoral sebagai penghubung antara inisiatif paguyuban manusiawi dan Gerejasemesta yang ingin mengabdi pada kabar gembira. Apakah dengan “temu Pastoral” seperti itu tercipta suatu kejalinan baru antara iman dan soal-soal hidup?

Abstract

Dari masa ke masa, tugas dan gaya teologi berubah; juga tempat orang belajar teologi berubah: entah di rumah uskup (seperti pada Augustinus) atau di biara (seperti pada Anselmus) atau di universitas (seperti pada Thomas dari Aquino atau pada John Henry Newman) atau di seminari pendidikan imam (seperti dari zaman Carolus Borromeus sampai saat ini). Gaya Studi dan  penelitian berubah menurut tantangan zaman: mulai dengan mengenal dan menafsirkan Kitab Suci sampai perdebatan dengan ilmu sostal-politik dewasa ini. Manakah gaya studi teologi yang berarti bagi tugas Gereja dan hidup manusia dewasa ini? Pokoknya: dari suatu fakultas di universitas dituntut penelitian ilmiah.

Abstract
