Abstract

Mengusung Pembelajaran Sastra Lisan Gambang Rancag Betawi Menuju Pembelajaran Inovatif. Tujuan menulis makalah ini adalah untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran sastra lisan agar tidak terkungkung pada pembelajaran teks. Selain itu, bertujuan untuk mebuat pembelajaran sastra lisan lebih kreatif dan inovatif. Diketahui bahwa pembelajaran sastra lisan selama ini, baik di sekolah maupun di perguruan tinggi para pembelajar tidak digiring pada pembelajaran model kelisanan sebuah materi sastra lisan, termasuk memaknai teks lisan itu dengan konteksnya sehingga teks lisan yang dimaknai kehilangan maknanya secara utuh karena hanya memaknai objek (materi) sebagian. Metode pembelajaran sastra lisan gambang rancag Betawi seutuhnya diarahkan pada pembelajaran yang inovatif, yaitu menggunakan media teks pertunjukan untuk mengenali konteks sebuah materi pembelajaran. Pendekatannya dengan teori Joice dan Weil (1986), sebagai langkah pembelajaran sastra lisan dengan objek teks pertunjukan dikenali bentuk kelisanannya, sementara melalui konteks, pembelajar bisa menandai makna isi cerita sesuai konteksnya, termasuk fungsi dari cerita yang di tampilkan. Berdasarkan bentuknya akan ditunjukkan sebuah pertunjukan cerita rakyat Betawi sehingga secara utuh pemaknaan pembelajaran sastra lisan sebagai muatan lokal akan tertanam dalam diri pembelajar sebgai karakter.The objective of this paper is to develop the oral literary teaching in order to supplement textual teaching. In addition, the paper aims to create a more creative and innovative oral literary teaching method. It has been assumed that in the context of teaching oral literature in school or higher education to date, students are not exposed to a teaching model of oral literature, including interpreting oral texts within their contexts. This leads to the loss of whole meaning of oral texts due to partial interpretation. The teaching model of Gambang Rancag Betawi is an innovative model, utilizing performance texts as media to recognize contexts of a subject matter. Joice and Weil’s (1986) theory was adopted in order to unpack the oral form of the text. Through contexts, students can comprehend the gist of the story, including the function of the story. In terms of the form, the performance will be conducted so that students can arrive at a whole interpretation of teaching oral literature as local content.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the character of one of the main characters, Honami in the Holy Mother novel. The data source in this study is the Holy Mother novel wrote by Japanese author Akiyoshi Rikako,which has been published in Indonesia in 2016. The technique used for data collection in this study is library techniques. The method usedin conducting this research was the psychoanalysis method which was first put forward by Sigmund Freud. The results showed that based on psychoanalytic studies, the main character of the novel,a woman namedHonami, showed that the Id aspectinfluences all of herthoughts and actions. This was triggered by various events, namely herown misfortune which had many miscarriages and had a disease that made it difficult for herto get pregnant, and Kaoru's existence that changed herlife to became more meaningful. The emergence of fear and concern for her daughter because of the successive killings that struck a small child in the city where she lived, making her falsify and obscure the fact that Makoto, wascommitted murder to protect her daughter. The results also showed thatthe personality of the main character, Honami, is dominated by an element of the Egopersonality that defeats the Superego.

Abstract

STRUCTURE, FUNCTION, AND INHERITANCE SYSTEM OF THE GAMBANG RANCAG   ORAL TRADITION IN THE BETAWI COMMUNITYAbstractJakarta is inhabited by people formed from a melting plot process, namely mixing of various ethnicities and regions, both from within and outside Indonesia. From the melting plot process, the position of the Betawi people changed to a new identity called the Betawi tribe or the Betawi people. This aims of study is to describe the structure, function, and inheritance sistem of the gambang rancag   oral tradition in the Betawi community. This research was conducted in four areas of DKI Jakarta and another area in West Java, namely Depok. The choice of location of this research was carried out because objectively these areas were the population base of the Betawi community. Data collection by observation, interview and documentation study. Data analysis with interdisciplinary approach, structural theory in Abrams and G. L. Koster Malay poetry, Albert Lord's formula theory and inheritance sistem, and Functions by Alan Dundes and Teeuw. The results of this study were first, describing the existence of communication between the creator, the text, the audience, and the community that can be considered through the text structure (1) the flow scheme, (2) the theme, and (3) the character's actions. Second, functions, were (1) affirmation function, (2) negation function, and (3) restoration function. The third, were the inheritance sistem, includes: (1) giving the model, (2) modeling the model, and (3) showing the model.Keywords: oral tradition, gambang rancag  , structure, function, inheritance, Betawi community STRUKTUR, FUNGSI, DAN SISTEM PEWARISAN TRADISI LISAN GAMBANG RANCAG   PADA MASYARAKAT BETAWI Abstrak Jakarta didiami oleh masyarakat yang terbentuk dari proses melting plot, yaitu percampuran dari berbagai etnik dan wilayah, baik dari dalam maupun luar Indonesia. Dari proses melting plot, kedudukan orang Betawi berubah menjadi identitas baru yang dinamakan suku Betawi atau orang Betawi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur, fungsi, dan sistem pewarisan tradisi lisan gambang rancag   pada masyarakat Betawi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di empat wilayah DKI Jakarta dan satu  daerah di Jawa Barat, yaitu Depok. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan karena secara objektif daerah-daerah tersebut merupakan basis penduduk masyarakat Betawi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan interdisiplin, teori struktur puitika Melayu Abrams dan Koster, teori formula dan sistem pewarisan oleh Lord, dan fungsi oleh Dundes dan Teeuw. Adapun hasil penelitian ini, yaitu pertama, menggambarkan adanya komunikasi antara pencipta, teks, penonton, dan masyarakat yang dapat diperhatikan melalui struktur teks  (1) skema  alur, (2) tema, dan (3) lakuan tokoh. Kedua, fungsi, yaitu (1) fungsi afirmasi, (2) fungsi negasi, dan (3) fungsi restorasi. Ketiga, yaitu sistem pewarisan, meliputi: (1) memberikan model, (2) mencontoh model, dan (3) mempertunjukkan model. Kata Kunci: tradisi lisan, gambang rancag  , struktur, fungsi, pewarisan, masyarakat Betawi

Abstract

Cerita pendek malam pengantin adalah salah satu cerita pendek dari Kumpulan Cerpen Arab yang berjudul Halusinasi karya Najib Kaliani dan sudah dialihbahsakan. Dalam cerpen malam pengantin terdapat tokoh utama yang bernama Nurah, Pada penelitian ini penulis fokus kepada unsur konflik batin pada tokoh Nurah. Konflik baatin itu sendiri adalah suatu masalah yang dapat dialami oleh semua orang. Konflik batin juga dapat ditemuai dalam penokohan suatu cerita pendek. Dalam cerita pendek malam pengantin, penulis mendapatkan beberapa konflik batin tokoh utama bernama Nurah yang ditemui seperti rasa kebencian,kekesalan, kejemuan, ketakutan,kebingungan, dan kesedihan. Disamping konflik batin ada juga suatu amanat cerita yang tersirat dalam akhir cerita.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the main characters’ personality in the novel of Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye based on Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalysis. The research method used qualitative with content analysis. Data were collected by inventorying Thomas's conversation based on Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic personality characteristic. It consists of think extrovert, feels extrovert, sense extrovert, intuition extrovert, think introvert, feel introvert, sensitive introvert, and intuition introvert. The results revealed that the discovery of eight main characters’ personality. First, think extrovert is demonstrated by the ability of intellectual analysis of objective experience. Second, feel extrovert is found by responding emotionally to objective reality. Third, sense extrovert is the tendency of figures to analyze the situation. Fourth, intuition extrovert is seen by its character does not care about logic. Fifth, think introvert figure depiction looks inflexible, cold, judge, and cruel. Sixth, feel introvert showed by figures are selfish and unsympathetic. Seventh, sense introvert found the ability of the senses to give them subjective meaning. Eighth, intuition introvert is demonstrated by the figure closing in and keeping the distance from the others. In conclusion, the eight personality types can be found on the whole structure of an irregular novel story.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic character of the Pulo people through the folklore of Panglima Hitam and Raja Tidung as local wisdom of the people of Tidung Island. Tidung Island, which is now a tourist destination, is slowly undergoing changes in the lives of the island's people who were originally a fishing community, now turned into a tourist destination. The shift in function which originally had a fishing tradition turned into a tourist resort that is ready to accommodate the coffers of tourists who come and go to Tidung Island. The existence of Tidung Island is recorded in an oral tradition of folklore that is still known by the people, namely the Panglima Hitam folklore and the story of Raja Tidung. The value of Islamic character as local wisdom is used to read the two folk tales, especially the character development of the younger generation on Tidung Island. The Islamic character of the island community that must be developed includes: (1) moral values ​​to God, (2) moral values ​​to others, and (3) moral values ​​to oneself. These three Islamic characters serve as character models used by the community to develop the potential of the Tidung Island community.

Abstract

This study aims to find other meanings for the novel Ranah 3 Warna. Researchers use deconstruction theory to uncover and see the other side of the character Alif who is described as a character who is persistent, tough and unyielding. This research uses literature study method to collect and provide data to be analyzed. The data source in this research is the text of the novel Ranah 3 Warna by Ahmad Fuadi, first printed in January 2011 by PT Gramedia Jakarta. The data was collected by using the method of reading repeatedly carefully against the manuscripts that were the object of the research. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis technique by describing the data which is then followed by the analysis. Based on the text analysis and other meanings carried out on the novel Ranah 3 Warna, it is revealed the figures of people who have had a big influence in Alif's life. Among them, Kyai Rais, Ayah, Bang Togar and Randai. Other analysis results reveal that Alif is easily offended, is less grateful and forgets the services of his little friend Randai who has sacrificed a lot for his survival overseas. In addition, Alif also has a character that does not accept reality and is ambitious in achieving what he wants.

Abstract

A compelling speech figure, a parable, or a metaphor in the Qur'an seeks to explain a crucial point by sticking in the mind and helping us absorb the message and firmly lodge it in our hearts. The stylistic method utilized in this study was a corpus-based stylistic method, which entails a contextual assessment of the term or pattern in issue. The information is based on passages from the Qur'anic corpus that have been translated into English. The stylistic corpus-based approach was used to investigate four different types of metaphor. They are standard, implied, visual, and extended metaphors, as evidenced by the findings. From the result finding it shows that there are 21 verses in the metaphor that are classified as standard metaphors, accounting for 61% of the metaphor. There are 5 verses, or 13%, of implied metaphor, 7 verses, or 18%, of visual metaphor, and 3 verses, or 8%, of extended metaphor. The metaphor that appeared the most frequently is a standard metaphor.

Abstract

This article elaborates the performance of Topeng Betawi story as a form of Betawi’s oral tradition presented at the Night of Old Jakarta Performance held at the VOC’s (Vereenigde Oost Indische Compagnie) Shipyard, Pluit Jakarta Utara, on Sunday, Desember 2, 2012. Foreign guests attending the show, invited by the head of North Jakarta municipality, came from 14 countries, including India, Japan, China, United States of America, Singapore, South Korea, and South Africa. The objective of this article is to report the aesthetical substance of the show in the context of world spectators. The article employs ethnographical method, interdiciplinary analysis, and performing arts approach. By doing so, it is expected that the article would be able to compose a writing that describe the performing of Topeng Betawi story during the 19th century in Batavia under the Dutch colonial rule. The aesthetic role of the stage was important as a media of performing Betawi’s folk story equipped with music, lighting, stage, and costums, which made the show more interesting. The producer with his expertise was able to organize the performance into a a garden party model before the VOC building. There were three things that made it interesting: (1) the great role of master ceremony in translating the story of Topeng Betawi (2) the shared exotic values of history as once being colonized, and (3 )the producer’s expertise in interestingly setting the show amazed the foreign spectators.Keywords: performance, folk story, Topeng Betawi, VOC era, exotic values
