<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Latar Belakang Kanker ovarium dikenal sebagai “the silent killerâ€, sehingga sangat penting untuk mendeteksi dini untuk memprediksi potensi metastasis kanker ovarium. Keganasan ovarium terbanyak adalah tipe epithelial atau karsinoma. Salah satu kandidat yang potensial untuk tujuan tersebut di atas adalah VEGF-A yang dikenal berperan dalam proliferasi dan migrasi sel endotel. Penelitin ini bertujuan menilai hubungan imunoekspresi VEGF-A dengan derajat histopatologi dan potensi metastasis karsinoma ovarium, Bahan dan Cara Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross sectional retrospective yang dilakukan di bagian Patologi Anatomi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Hasanuddin. Sampel didapatkan dari arsip kasus karsinoma ovarium selama periode Januari 2008-Mei 2010. Dilakukan pewarnaan imunohistokimia menggunakan antibodi monoklonal VEGF- A pada 51 jaringan karsinoma ovarium dengan metode labelled streptovidin biotin peroxidase. Hasil Ekspresi VEGF-A (positif) ditemukan pada 49 dari 51 sampel tumor dan sebanyak 18 tumor diantaranya disertai metastasis. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara ekspresi VEGF-A dengan derajat histopatologi tumor. Ekspresi VEGF-A yang kuat terbanyak pada tumor dengan derajat histopatologi yang tinggi(diferensiasi buruk), dan ekspresi VEGF-A yang lemah hingga negatif pada tumor dengan derajat histopatologi rendah (diferensiasi baik). Ekspresi VEGF-A yang kuat ditemukan baik pada jaringan tumor yang bermetastasis maupun yang tidak bermetastasis. Kesimpulan Terdapat hubungan antara ekspresi VEGF-A dengan derajat histopatologi tumor ganas epitelial ovarium, (p≤ 0,05), tetapi tidak ditemukan hubungan yang bermakna antara ekspresi VEGF-A dengan potensi metastasis tumor, (p≥0,05). ABSTRACT Correlations Between The Immunoexpresion of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF A) and The Histopathological Grade and metastatic potency of ovarian cancer. Background Ovarian Cancer is the "Silent Killer", especially the epithelial type, so it is very helpfull to find this tumor in early stage, and can be used to predict the metastatic potentiallity. Objective This study was to assess The correlation of VEGF A and The Histopathologic Grade of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer, as well as the potentiallity for metastases. Methodology This study was a retrospective cross sectional study conducted at the Pathology Medical Faculty of Hasanuddin University. Samples obtained from ovarian tissue during the period January 2008-May 2010. Immunohistochemical staining was performed using monoclonal antibody VEGF A in 51 epithelial ovarian cancer tissue using biotin peroxidase method streptovidin labelled. Results The expression of VEGF A (positive) is found in 49 out of 51 tumor samples, a total of 18 tumors accompanied with metastases. There is significant correlation between VEGF A expression with histopathologic grade of tumors, where strong expression of VEGF A found in majority of tumors with high histopathologic grade (poor differentiation), and weak to negative expression of VEGF A was found in tumors with low histopathologic grade (well differentiation). VEGF A expression was found both in tumor with metastases or no metastasis. Conclusion This study was to get the correlation between VEGF A expression and the histopathologic grade of epithelial ovarian cancer, p=0.00 (≤ 0.05), but there was no significant correlation between the VEGF A expression with the potential of tumor metastases, p=387 (≥0.05) Keywords : VEGF A, histopathological grade.]]>
