Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap etnomatematika masyarakat Arfak di Pedalaman Pegunungan Arfak. Bidang yang diteliti adalah transaksi perniagaan pada masa lalu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Etnografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan matematika digunakan oleh masyarakat ketika mereka dalam melakukan transakasi jual-beli cukup unik. Keunikannya adalah bahwa masyarakat tidak mengenal operasi pengurangan dalam mengembalikan uang sisa. Jika dikaitkan dengan matematika sekolah terkait pengurangan, jenis operasi pengurangan ini mirip dengan cara kerja sempoa dalam menyelesaikan operasi pengurangan bilangan.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of developing this computer-assisted learning media is to improve student learning achievement in rules for high school class XII students. The research development model uses the Plomp model divided into five stages, namely (1) initial investigation, (2) design, (3) making, (4) trial and revision, and (5) application. This media is called Bel Kaca. The results of this study are computer-assisted learning media that are valid, effective, and practical for use in teaching and learning activities.Abstrak: Tujuan dari pengembangan media pembelajaran berbantuan komputer ini adalah untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi kaidah pencacahan untuk siswa kelas XII SMA. Model pengembangan penelitian ini menggunakan model  Plomp terbagi lima tahapan yaitu (1) penyelidikan awal, (2) rancangan, (3) pembuatan, (4) ujicoba dan revisi, dan (5) penerapan dan penyebaran. Media ini bernama Bel Kaca.  Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran berbantuan komputer ini valid, efektif, dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Developing a problem-solving skill for important things which need to be paid attention is how the students' thinking process in solving a problem is. Thinking about what is thought in this term relates to students' awareness of their ability to develop various ways which may be taken in solving a problem is known as metacognition. The existence of metacognition is very important for students in solving mathematical problems. This is a qualitative study using the grade VII students having medium ability as the subjects. The results of the study obtained that through intervention conducted by the researchers in 5 meetings, metacognition capability emerged in the subjects so that with their own ability they are able to solve mathematical problems provided.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the misrepresentation of students with high mathematical ability in solving comparative problems. This type of research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were one grade VIII J student at SMP Negeri 1 Ngunut Tulungagung. In this study, data collection techniques used were tests to solve problems of comparison and interviews with students. Comparative test sheets and interview guidelines were used as instruments in this study. The results of this study are students with high mathematical ability to make visual and verbal representational errors at the step of understanding a problem.At the step of devising a plan, carrying out the plan and looking back the symbol representation error.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang kesalahan representasi siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah perbandingan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah satu siswa kelas VIII J di SMP Negeri 1 Ngunut Tulungagung.Dalam penelitian ini, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes menyelesaikan masalah perbandingan dan wawancara dengan siswa. Lembar tes soal perbandingan dan pedoman wawancara digunakan sebagai instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa yang berkemampuan matematika tinggi melakukan kesalahan representasi visual dan verbal pada tahap memahami masalah. Pada tahap merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali melakukan kesalahan representasi simbol.

Abstract

Abstract: This study described student mathematical communication ability in problem solving linear systems with three variables. Subjects were 3 students, student of mathematical communication of high ability (S1), medium (S2) and low (S3). The indicators of mathematical communication that used in this research are adapted from the NCTM (2000). Data collection was carried out by administering test and conducting interview. Results showed that the student mathematical communication of high ability meet all indicators mathematical communication ability, student mathematical communication of medium meet one indicator mathematical communication ability and student mathematical communication of low do not meet all indicators mathematical communication ability.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel. Subjek penelitian adalah 3 siswa yaitu siswa berkemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi (S1), sedang (S2) dan rendah (S3). Indikator dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari indikator NCTM (2000). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian lembar tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi mampu memenuhi semua indikator komunikasi matematis, siswa yang kemampuan komunikasi matematis sedang memenuhi satu indikator komunikasi matematis dan siswa yang komunikasi matematis rendah tidak memenuhi semua indikator komunikasi matematis.

Abstract

Indonesia's PISA test results in the last three periods still rank in the bottom ten. This shows that the mathematics ability of Indonesian students is still low. This research aims to explore the higher order thinking processes experienced by junior high school students in solving PISA questions before and during scaffolding. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Singosari, Malang Regency, in the form of giving tests to 31 students of class IX, interviews and scaffolding. Scaffolding is done in order to complete the unfulfilled aspects in the phases of thinking. From this research, it was found that: (1) The high-level thinking process of students in solving PISA questions, before scaffolding has included the three phases that must be passed (the entry phase, the attack phase, and the review phase), but not all aspects of each phase are fulfilled; (2) Scaffolding has helped students in solving PISA questions. Improve the teacher's ability to do scaffolding to help students find aha! with more attention to the obstacles (stuck?) faced by students

Abstract

Hasil tes PISA Indonesia dalam tiga periode terakhir masih menempati posisi sepuluh terbawah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan matematika siswa Indonesia masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi proses berpikir tingkat tinggi yang dialami siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA sebelum dan saat scaffolding. Penelitian  ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Singosari, Kabupaten Malang, berupa pemberian tes kepada 31 siswa kelas IX, wawancara dan scaffolding. Scaffolding dilakukan dalam rangka melengkapi aspek-aspek yang belum terpenuhi dalam fase-fase berpikir. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa: (1) Proses berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA, sebelum scaffolding telah memuat ketiga fase yang harus dilalui (fase entry, fase attack, dan fase review) tetapi tidak semua aspek pada setiap fase terpenuhi; (2) Scaffolding telah membantu siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA. Tingkatkan kemampuan guru dalam melakukan scaffolding untuk membantu siswa menemukan aha! dengan lebih cermat terhadap kendala (stuck?) yang dihadapi siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed at describing students’ comprehension toward four square concepts through inquiry learning. This study engaged descriptive-qualitative method which involve seven gradrers of SMPN 3 Satu Atap Dulupi as the participants.This study acknowledged students’ concept comprehension competence consists of: (1) re-stating the concept, (2) using, utilizing, and choosing the prcedures, and (3) apllying the concept in problem solving. The findings of the study showed that the students were able to comprehend the concepts of four square through inquiry learning.Therefore, the inquiry learning can be used as an alternative in the mathematics learning process in Junior High Schools.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative descriptive study that describes the misrepresentation of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems. The research subjects were grade VII students representing high, medium, and low levels of mathematical ability. The results showed that the errors made by students in solving mathematical problems were: (1) high-ability students at the stage of understanding the problem made a verbal representation error, the stage of planning a solution, the stage of carrying out the completion, and the stage of checking the results of making a symbol representation error; (2) moderately capable students at the stage of understanding the problem of making verbal representations and symbol representations, the stage of planning a settlement, the stage of carrying out the settlement, and the stage of checking the results of making symbol representation errors, (3) students with low mathematical abilities at the stage of understanding the problem, the stage of planning a solution , the stage of carrying out the completion, and the stage of checking the results of making symbol representation errors.

Abstract

The student's reflective abstraction ability in solving problems is necessary because the result of a person's reflective abstraction is a scheme used to understand something, finding solutions or solving problems. Besides, reflective abstractions are essential to higher mathematical, logical thinking as they occur in logical thinking in children. Therefore, to develop a reflective abstraction notion of high-level mathematical thinking, it is necessary to separate what is an essential feature of reflective abstraction, reflect its rules on higher mathematics, recognize and reconstruct it so that a similar theory of knowledge Mathematics and its instructions. While research that will researchers do is to know how the process of reflective abstraction of students in solving problems in terms of cognitive style. This is because the cognitive style is closely related to how to receive and process all information, especially in learning. The various trends in their learning can be identified and then classified whether the child belongs to an independent field cognitive style (thinking tends to have the independence of views) or field dependent.
