Abstract

Industri pengecoran logam umumnya menggunakan baja karbon sebagai bahan baku utama. Hal ini disebabkan oleh besarnya kebutuhan industri terutama industri pengolahan kelapa sawit, kertas dan industri lainnya terhadap komponen mesin yang diproduksi dengan teknik pengecoran logam. Banyak dipakainya baja karbon pada industri tersebut mengakibatkan bahan tersebut harus mengalami penyesuaian pada sifat mekanis yang diinginkan oleh pemakainya, salah satu langkah yang dapat diambil adalah dengan melakukan proses perlakuan panas, proses ini akan sangat bergantung pada komposisi kimia bahan, suhu pemanasan, waktu penahanan (hold time) dan kecepatan pendinginan (cooling rates). Kegiatan Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa SMK di lingkungan kampus tentang pengaruh proses pendinginan paska perlakuan panas terhadap sifat mekanik logam terutama nilai kekerasannya. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi motivasi bagi siswa dalam mempelajari ilmu metalurgi.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) is research conducted by teachers in their own class by planning, implementing and reflecting actions collaboratively and participatively with the aim of improving performance as a teacher so that student learning outcomes can improve. Thus PTK can facilitate teachers to develop an understanding of pedagogy in order to improve their learning. This training also invites teacher friends to step into various records that after being processed can manifest into a quality study. Carry out research on what is done daily by a teacher who can finally produce a work called PTK. This can happen if a general sequence of procedures, which starts from the identification of research problems encountered until the final report is recorded. So, it is very important that this procedure is understood and adhered to by the teacher who is researching. The overall service activities are quite good in terms of the target number of participants and enthusiasm in receiving the material provided.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, pemantauan korosi dilakukan pada sambungan las gesekan baja karbon rendah dan baja tahan karat austenitik (SS 202) yang disimulasikan dalam larutan biologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghitung laju korosi sambungan las gesek baja karbon rendah dan SS 202 serta mengevaluasi kekasaran permukaan yang terjadi pada zona pengelasan. Dari hasil sambungan las, dibuat sampel uji korosi dengan mewakili zona pengelasan. Sebelum perendaman, permukaan sampel dibersihkan dan dipoles sebelum perendaman menggunakan larutan elektrolit NaCl 0,9wt.%. Percobaan dijalankan pada 2, 4, 6, dan 8 minggu masing-masing sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju korosi sambungan las gesek baja karbon rendah dan SS 202 tertinggi sebesar 0,0167 mm/tahun, dan terendah 0,0127 mm/tahun. Pada saat yang sama, area sambungan las yang memiliki kekasaran permukaan tertinggi terjadi pada zona plastis. Disimpulkan bahwa seluruh zona pengelasan menunjukkan potensi korosi yang seragam kecuali zona plastis yang menunjukkan perilaku korosi galvanik.   ABSTRACT In this study, corrosion monitoring was carried out in the friction welded joint of low carbon steel and austenitic stainless steel (SS 202) simulated in a biological solution. This study aims to calculate the corrosion rate of friction welding joints of low carbon steel and SS 202 and evaluate the surface roughness that occurs in the welding zone. From the results of welded joints, corrosion test samples were made by representing the welding zone. Prior to immersion, the surface of the sample was cleaned and polished before immersion using a 0.9wt.% NaCl electrolyte solution. Experiments were run at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of each sample. The results showed that the corrosion rate of friction welding joints for low carbon steel and SS 202, the highest was 0.0167 mm/year, and the lowest was 0.0127 mm/year. At the same time, the welded joint area that has the highest surface roughness occurs in the plasticized zone. It was concluded that the entire welding zone showed uniform corrosion potential except for the plasticized zone, which showed galvanic corrosion behavior.

Abstract

Some Types of the method of making composite materials are the Vacuum Assited Resin Infusion (VARI) Method and the Hand Lay Up Method. The purpose of this study was to compare the tensile strength of composite materials made using the hand lay up and VARI methods. The types of fibers used as composite materials are palm frond fibers and matrices used in polyester resin. Composites reinforced with palm fronds are printed using the hand lay up and VARI methods. The results showed the value of composite tensile strength with the hand lay up method of 27.37 MPa and composite tensile strength using the VARI method of 28.40 MPa. From the results of the study, the differences in the tensile strength values of the two methods were obtained.

Abstract

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of personal protective equipment in the community has contributed to the increasing amount of medical waste. Medical waste from the COVID-19 pandemic is classified as infectious medical waste which is waste related to patients who need isolation from infectious diseases. one of the solutions offered is a medical waste incinerator. By studying the medical waste incinerator model in the hospital, the researchers finally took the initiative to do a simple incinerator design. the incinerator to be used is updraft gasifier type. It is hoped that the use of this incinerator will be able to solve the existing medical waste problem. In this study, the researchers use experemental approach to get the basic data from the reactor. After gain the data, then the researcher use numerical approach which is using ansys softwere to get a better look of the temperature contour on the rector. From both study, researcher can conclude tha it would take an upgrade on the existing blower to incenerate the medical waste on a safely temperature.

Abstract

Untuk bisa bersaing di tingkat global, tenaga kerja harus memiliki sertifikat kompetensi.Tenaga kerja tidak bisa lagi hanya dengan mengandalkan ijazah, sertifikat kursus, dan lain sebagainya. Sertifikat kompetensi merupakan bukti pengakuan tertulis atas kompetensi kerja seseorang pada bidang tertentu melalui uji kompetensi secara sistematis dan obyektif yang dilaksanakan oleh lembaga sertifikasi profesi (LSP) dan telah mendapatkan lisensi dari badan nasional sertifikasi kompetensi (BNSP). Sementara itu banyak tenaga kerja di Provinsi Riau yang belum punya dan belum tahu dengan sertifikat kompetensi tersebut, khususnya di bidang instalasi pemanfaatan tenaga listrik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pelatihan dan pendampingan untuk mereka. Adapun tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk melatih dan meningkatkan pemahaman tenaga kerja menghadapi uji sertifikasi kompetensi agar kompeten dan bisa bersaing di bursa kerja. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan tahapan pre-test, pembekalan, observasi, post test, dan wawancara. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 7 peserta. Selama kegiatan berlangsung terlihat pelatihan dan pendampingan ini telah terlaksana dengan baik. Sedangkan dari hasil penilaian yang dilakukan terdapat 86% peserta memperoleh nilai ≥ 70, artinya 6 dari 7 peserta berhasil kompeten. Ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap jika dibandingkan dari hasil pre-test sebelumnya.

Abstract

The world was shocked by the outbreak of a new virus called Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in 2020. Syringe is one of the medical waste from the COVID-19 pandemic which is classified as metal waste. One of the solutions offered is a medical waste incinerator. By studying the medical waste incinerator model in hospitals, the researchers finally took the initiative to design a simple incinerator. The incinerator to be used is a portable induction type.
