Abstract

The rapid progress in the industrial sector has an important role in growing the economy. Without the industrial sector, growth in developing countries will be slower than in previous years. UD. Berkah Alam is one of the informal industrial sectors that focuses on coconut management. The types of jobs available at UD. The blessings of Nature are the pacak part, the scrap part, the daily part and the copra part. This type of work has a risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The study was conducted with the aim of knowing the prevalence of complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in each work section. The method used is a survey using a nordic body map using a questionnaire. The results showed that 59% of all workers experienced complaints of pain or pain, especially in the musculoskeletal system. Workers who experience complaints on the musculoskeletal system are highest in the copra (100%). Complaints of disorders experienced by workers of the right shoulder, left shoulder, buttocks, buttocks, right forearm and left forearm.

Abstract

The International Labor Organization (ILO) explained that 2.78 million workers die every year due to work accidents and occupational diseases. Around 2.4 million (86.3%) of these deaths were due to occupational diseases, while more than 380,000 (13.7%) were due to work accidents. Community groups working in the informal sector have not yet received attention in the field of Safety and Health. the Occupational Health. The furniture industry is one of the informal industries that has a high level of complexity. This industry is an informal industry using wood as the basic material, where the process produces a lot of wood fibers or very small dust in the work environment. In a total time of approximately 10 working hours, workers are exposed to dust and other work hazards, this causes work accidents and occupational diseases, to reduce or eliminate hazards that can cause accidents in the workplace, a risk management is needed. requirements of OHSAS 18001 clause 4.3.1 that the organization must establish procedures and carry out hazard identification, risk assessment and determining control. Abstract

An increase in the amount of production in the printing industry will positively impact economic and social aspects. Economic and social aspects that can be directly felt include the increase in individual income and employment in the printing industry sector. Apart from having a positive impact, this also has a negative impact, especially on the health and protection aspects of workers related to occupational safety and health. The type of work in the printing industry is one that has a risk of musculoskeletal disorders. This study aims to determine the prevalence of complaints of musculoskeletal disorders among workers in the printing industry. The method used is a survey using a Nordic body map using a questionnaire. The results showed that 8% of workers experienced complaints on the musculoskeletal system. Complaints of disorders of the skeletal muscles experienced by workers complained of back pain (32%), complained of pain in the forearm and right shoulder (28%), complained of pain in the left shoulder, back and right upper arm (24%), complained pain in the neck, left upper and lower arm, right calf and left toe (20%).

Abstract

Occupational exposure to benzene from fuel oil in workshop motorcycle workshop causes several health effects, depending upon the level and duration of exposure. Analysis of blood is important to access the status of worker’ health. The study aimed to assess the gather basic information required for protecting workers’ health and improve working conditions in the works sites by investigating the ESR levels. A comparative cross-sectional study conducted in Surabaya City, East Java-Indonesia, which involved 100 workers. The occupational data collected using a structured questionnaire while blood analysis parameters measured with an automated hematology analyzer. The result showed that leukocytes, erythrocytes, hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit values (HCT), platelet, MCV, RDW, eosinophil, basophils, neutrophil rods, neutrophil segment, lymphocyte, monocytes were in normal value. Whereas, MCH, MCHC, ESR has shown in abnormal value as average 24.5 pg, 29.18 g/dL and 8.21 mm/h, respectively. Those value, especially in ESR value indicated the increasing concentration plasma viscosity. This is may cause by inflammation in the workers’ body. To prevent the hazardous effect of benzene exposure, occupational health should be implemented for workers in order to protect them from exposure to benzene.

Abstract

Background: Risk management is a preventive effort for a company, especially those engaged in the service sector, which is very prone to errors and complaints. For this reason, it is necessary to map the risks that occur in accordance with the work unit in it which is expected to minimize the number of accidents or errors in both patients, visitors and employees in the hospital. In the 2019 patient safety incident report data at the Surabaya A. Yani Islamic Hospital, it was found that there were incidents which included near miss 93%, not injured 4%, unexpected events 3% and Sentinel 0%. The purpose of this study was to identify and identify the application of occupational safety and health risk management at the A. Yani Islamic Hospital in Surabaya. Methods: This thesis is a qualitative research with a case study method with the aim of fully describing the implementation of K3 risk management at Surabaya A. Yani Hospital based on observation, survey and documentation data on 37 units and hospital workplaces by identifying risks. , analyze and find risk control measures. Results: The results showed that the implementation of K3 risk management in the Islamic Hospital of Surabaya A. Yani based on the results of risk identification obtained as many as 25 risks in the graha building and the old building which were further analyzed by finding 15 moderate risks and 10 high risks. can be done is by repairing damaged infrastructure and improving the existing security system at the A. Yani Islamic Hospital in Surabaya. Conclusion: The conclusion in this study is the implementation of K3 risk management at the Islamic Hospital of Surabaya A. Yani based on the process of risk identification and risk analysis, there are 25 potential risks, of which there are 15 moderate risks and 10 high risks that can potentially cause accidents to employees, visitors and patients. In this case, control efforts are made to minimize the number of incidents and accidents.

Abstract

Benzene merupakan salah satu bahan kimia yang karsinogenik. Penggunaan benzene pada beberapa negara sudah dibatasi akan tetapi masih ada perusahaan yang menggunakan. Salah satu Penggunaan benzene ditemukan pada  industry percetakan sebagai pelarut tinta. Hasil  survey yang telah dilakukan dilokasi kegiatan, ditemukan keluhan yang dirasakan oleh pekerja di bagaian produksi seperti batuk, bersin, berdahak, sesak nafas, mual, pusing, mudah lelah dan keluhan gejala neurutoksik . Hal ini jika dibiarkan dan tidak ada perhatian khusus dari berbagai pihak,maka risiko terjadinya penyakit akibat kerja juga semakin tinggi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk mengurangi paparan uap benzene melalui penerapan alat pelindung diri yang sesuai. Kegiatan  ini di mulai dengan survey,  pembagian alat pelindung diri dan pelatihan demontrasi penggunaan APD tersebut.. Hasil Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini secara keseluruhan berjalan dengan lancar. Saran   dari   kegiatan ini agar tetap terus berlanjut perlu dilakukan pengawasan dari pohak perusahaan maupun dari pos upaya Kesehatan kerja sepetmapt terhadap kedisiplinan pekerja dalam menggunakan alat pelindung diri dan juga menyediakan alat pelindung diri untuk jangka Panjang.

Abstract

 Introduction: Exposure to hazards in the work environment in the ceramic industry includes silica dust and heat temperatures. The purpose of this research was to analyze the respirable dust and c-silica dust, in addition to calculate c-silica dust in respirated dust. In addition, an evaluation of the results of dust measurements was also carried out by comparing it to the threshold value. Method: This was a descriptive study by testing samples of respirable dust and c-silica dust in the work place. The research was conducted at one of the ceramic industries in East Java. Data collection was carried out on all workers in the production division of 39 peoples. The measurement method for respirable dust analysis used the gravimetric method based on NIOSH method (NMAM 0600, 1998), while the analysis of c-silica dust used XRD equipment in accordance with the NIOSH method (NMAM 7500, 2003). Results: The results of the measurement of respirable dust in 39 respondents obtained a range of values of 0.019 - 0.0563 mg/m3 with an average of 0.19 mg/m3, while for c-silica dust, the results were at the range of 0.0020 - 0.3129 mg/m3 with an average of 0.07 mg/m3. The percentage of c-silica dust content in the ceramics industry in residential dust is different by 5 - 74.3% with the average of 34.89%. Conclusion: Evaluation of the results of measurement of respirable dust found that all samples were below the threshold value, while for c-silica dust, there were 27 samples with values above the threshold. On the average, there is 34.89% level of c-silica in respirable dust in the ceramic industry.Keywords: ceramic industry, c-silica, respirable dust

Abstract

Toluen merupakan salah satu pelarut yang sering digunakan dalam industri percetakan. Efek jangka panjang paparan toluen dapat berdampak pada perkembangan otak dan kognitif pada remaja dan perilaku normal pada orang dewasa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kadar toluen di lingkungan kerja dan melakukan kajian analisis risiko paparan toluen melalui pernafasan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross sectional dimana pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada waktu tertentu. Subjek penelitian merupakan pekerja yang bekerja di dalam satu ruangan dengan jumlah pekerja 18 orang. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan total populasi. Pengukuran sampel udara di lingkungan kerja dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel sebanyak 9 titik dalam satu ruangan. Untuk menghitung asupan, menggunakan beberapa nilai faktor paparan standar untuk pekerja berdasarkan Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Hasil penelitian menujukkan konsentrasi toluen dilingkungan kerja pada 9 titik rata-rata 11,3 ppm atau 42,6 mg/m3 dan hasil analisis risiko pada semua sampel didapatkan nilai Risk Quotient (RQ) < 1. Kesimpulan pengujian konsentrasi toluen di lingkungan kerja masih dibawah nilai ambang batas namun sudah masuk dalam action level dimana tindakan pencegahan sudah seharusnya dilakukan. Perhitungan nilai risiko pada semua responden masih bisa diterima. Namun perlu diperhatikan untuk jangka waktu panjang karena risiko bertambah seiring dengan masa kerja apabila tidak disertai dengan pengendalian lingkungan kerja yang baik.Kata Kunci: paparan toluen; industri percetakan; penilaian risiko; Risk Quotient (RQ)

Abstract

Fit to work merupakan suatu program kesehatan kerja yang memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kesehatan pekerja agar dapat bekerja tanpa menimbulkan kecelakaan kerja. Faktor penting yang terdapat pada manusia adalah kondisi kesehatannya. Semakin baik kondisi kesehatan maka akan mengurangi faktor penyebab kecelakaan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan program fit to work sebagai upaya peningkatan keselamatan dan kesehatan pada pekerja operasional di PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) divisi Terminal Jamrud Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan indepth interview untuk melihat pelaksanaan program fit to work meliputi alur pelaksanaan, hasil pemeriksaan dan efektivitas program. Jumlah informan sebanyak 12 orang. Analisis data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teori. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, pelaksanaan fit to work sebagai upaya peningkatan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja pada pekerja operasional sudah terlaksana dengan optimal. Hasil pemeriksaan fit to work digolongkan menjadi 2 kategori yaitu fit dan unfit, Efektivitas pelaksanaan program fit to work sebagai upaya peningkatan keselamatan dan kesehatan pada pekerja operasional sudah terlaksana dengan efektif. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu pelaksanaan program fit to work sebagai upaya peningkatan keselamatan dan kesehatan pada pekerja operasional di Terminal Jamrud sudah terlaksana dengan optimal dan efektif. Diharapkan pekerja operasional dapat meningkatkan gaya hidup dengan rajin berolahraga, tidur yang cukup dan mengonsumsi makanan sehat untuk menjaga kondisi tubuh agar tetap fit Kata Kunci:  Kecelakaan, Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja, Fit to Work

Abstract

AbstractOffice is a place for a group of people to carry out administrative activities. The office was formed with the aim of providing good and controlled communication and recording services for information. Office activities generally consist of activities related to office planning, office organizing, office direction, and office supervision. Seeing the complex types of activities in the office, of course, there are activities and use of office equipment that can affect the air quality in the room. The problem of indoor air quality is recognized as an important risk factor for health because the working community spends most of its time in the building or work space. Decreasing air quality in space can cause health problems for residents or commonly called sick building syndrome.The purpose of this study in general is to determine the air quality of the room which includes physical factors and chemical factors and compare with the standard values based on the regulation of the ministry of health of the Republic of Indonesia number 48 of 2016 concerning office health and safety.The object in this study is one of the offices in the city of Surabaya. The position of this office location is located in the middle of Surabaya. The number of rooms measured in this research is 11 rooms.Based on the results of measurements of physical factors in the office space, the results of noise measurements still meet the standards, there are 9 rooms that do not meet the lighting standards, there are 5 rooms that do not meet room temperature standards and there are 7 rooms that do not meet humidity standards. the results of testing the chemical factors for the parameters CO, CO2, O2 and Ozone still meet the standards, HCOH parameters there are 3 locations that do not meet the standards and parameters of dust, there can be 4 rooms that do not meet the standards. Keywords: evaluation; indoor air qualty; office room.
