Abstract

The purpose of the research is to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior in the context of private hospitals in Medan. It does so by testing a model of such effects using a set of data collected from a sample of medical and non medical employees. The analysis shows that transformational leadership and job satisfaction have positively associated with organizational citizenship behavior. In addition, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. The theoretical and managerial implications as well as the suggestion for future research are discussed at the end of the paper.
