Abstract

Response time and waiting time were key performance indicators in the emergency department of a hospital. This study will shed light on important factors contributing to service quality in emergency department of Indonesian public hospital by utilizing a cross-sectional design. About 117 patients were selected by simple random sampling techniques. Data observation sheets and a modified service quality instrument were used to measure health services in this department. Findings revealed that 83.8% patients felt satisfied with the services provided by emergency staff. Based on Kendall’s Tau test, waiting time had a significant relationship with service quality (p<0.05) compared to response time (p>0.05). The results of logistic regression test showed that waiting time had a higher value for Exp(B)= 3.522. In conclusion, waiting time was the most important factor affecting service quality in emergency department of Indonesian public hospital.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh suhu fermentasi dan penambahan suplemen metal ion terhadap pertumbuhan Z.mobilis serta mengukur kemampuannya dalam menghasilkan etanol. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan dua faktor, yaitu suhu fermentasi (30, 34, dan 38 °C) dan penambahan ion logam dari senyawa garam (Kalium dikromat, Magnesium klorida, dan Asam borat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu saat fermentasi dan penambahan suplemen ion logam memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan sel, total gula reduksi, dan kadar etanol. Pertumbuhan sel tertinggi sebesar 0,753 NTU dengan penambahan kalium dikromat pada suhu fermentasi 38 °C. Total gula reduksi terendah sebesar 789,97 mg/ml dengan penambahan Asam borat pada suhu fermentasi 34 °C. Kadar etanol tertinggi sebesar 2,234% dengan penambahan kalim dikromat pada suhu fermentasi 34 °C.Kata kunci: gula reduksi, ion logam, kadar etanol, tekanan suhu tinggi, Zymomonas mobilis AbstractThis study was aimed to find out the effect of fermentation temperature and metal ion supplement addition towards the growth of Z.mobilis as well as to measure its capability in producing ethanol. This research was conducted by using the randomized block design with two factors namely fermentation temperature (30,34,38 oC) and metal ion supplement addition of Potassium dichromate, Magnesium chloride and Boric acid. The result showed that temperature stress and metal ion supplement addition had significant influence on cell growth, total reducing sugar, and the amount of ethanol production. Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan kombinasi terbaik dari konsentrasi pati ganyong dan gliserol pada pembuatan edible coating dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan edible coating terbaik terhadap kualitas buah apel. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor. Faktor 1 yaitu konsentrasi pati ganyong 1%, 1,5% dan 2% (b/v) dan faktor 2 yaitu konsentrasi gliserol 4%, 5% dan 6% (v/v). Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Apabila hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan tidak ada interaksi antar faktor perlakuan, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT 5%, apabila ada interaksi, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT 5%. Pemilihan perlakuan terbaik menggunakan Multiple Attribute. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan formula edible coating terbaik yaitu pada konsentrasi pati ganyong 1% dan gliserol 6% dengan pH sebesar 6.98 dan viskositas sebesar 186.3 cP. Pada apel coated menunjukkan nilai susut bobot sebesar 3,99%, nilai TPT sebesar 15,8°Brix dan nilai kekerasan sebesar 3,63 Kg/cm2. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan panelis memberikan penilaian yang lebih tinggi pada apel coated yaitu nilai tekstur sebesar 4,3; warna sebesar 4,3 dan aroma sebesar 3,9.Kata kunci: apel, edible coating, gliserol, pati ganyongAbstract The purpose of this research was to attain the best combination from canna edulis starch (Pati Ganyong) and glycerol from the process of edible coating, and to identify its effect on the quality of the apples. This research applies randomized block design within 2 factors that were 1%, 1,5% and 2% (w/v) of canna edulis starch concentrate and 4%, 5% and 6% (v/v) of glycerol concentrate. Each process was repeated 3 times. If the result of variance analysis did not show any interaction between each treatment factor, then 5% LSD test will be applied, if the interaction appears, then the research will be continued by applying the 5% DMRT test. Multiple Attribute was used to select the best treatment act. The result of this research showed that the formula of the best edible coating is in the 1% of canna edulis starch concentrate, and 6% of glycerol with 6.98 amount of pH and 186.3 cP amount of viscosity. On the coated apple, 3.99% of weight loss and 15.8°Brix total dissolved solids and 3.63Kg/cm2 of hardness. The result of organoleptic test showed that the panelists given the higher score on the coated apple that were, score of texture at 4,3, color at 4,3 and aroma at 3,9.Keywords: apple, canna edulis starch, edible coating , glycerol

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  mengetahui pegaruh konsentrasi asam dan waktu hidrolisis terhadap kadar gula total serta kadar gula reduksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancang Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial 2 faktor yaitu konsentrasi H2SO4 dan lama waktu hidrolisis. Faktor pertama terdiri dari tiga level yaitu 0,4M, 0,6M dan 0,8M, sedangkan faktor kedua terdiri dari tiga level yaitu 60 menit, 80 menit dan 100 menit dari rancangan tersebut diperoleh sembilan kombinasi. Pada setiap kombinasi dilakukan tiga ulangan (27 sampel). Selanjutnya, dilakukan uji kadar gula total menggunakan refraktometer dan kadar gula reduksi menggunakan Nelson Somogyi. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan uji DMRT 5%. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan kandungan gula total tertinggi saat proses hidrolisis adalah perlakuan H2SO4 0,6M dengan waktu 100 menit yaitu 10,7%. Berdasarkan uji Anova dan DMRT5% bahwa kedua faktor perlakuan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar gula dan berbeda nyata. Gula reduksi  yang dihasilkan pada proses hidrolisis sebesar 19,29%. Dari bahan tersebut didapatkan etanol hasil fermentasi sebesar 4%.Kata kunci: bioetanol, gula, hidrolisis, pelepah sawit AbstractThe purpose of this research was to determine the effect of acid concentrations and hydrolysis time. Randomized Completely Block Design were arranged in a factorial with two factors : H2SO4 concentrations were 0.4M, 0.6M, 0.8M and hydrolysis time were 60 minutes, 80 minutes, 100 minutes. Each combination repeated three times. Samples were tested of total sugar content using refractometer and were tested of reducing sugar using Nelson Somogyi. Data were analyzed used two-ways ANOVA and conducted further test using the DMRT 5%. The result showed that the highest total sugar content is 10.7% in the treatment of H2SO4 concentration  0.6M and hydrolysis time 100 minutes. Based on ANOVA and DMRT test, all factors had significantly effect of the percentage of sugar. Beside that, in this research also have reduction sugar about 19.29% from sugar content of result hydrolysis process. Pretreatment oil palm frond using H2SO4 was produced 4% etanol after fermentation.Keywords: bioetanol, hydrolysis, oil palm frond, sugar
