Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response and Plant Production of Broccoli (Brassica oleracea Var. Botrytis) with application of Azolla composting in some plant spacing. This research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors namely: Azolla Composting Factor (A) with 4 levels 0, 32, 64, 96 and A4 = 128 g/plant. Plant spacing factor with 3 levels 45 cm x 45 cm, 50 cm x 50 cm and 55 cm x 55. The results showed that the application of Azolla compost 128 g/plant had significant effect on the stem height, stem diameter and flower weight. Plant spacing in 55 cm x 55 cm only affected the flower weight. There was no interaction between Azolla compost and plant spacing for all parameter observed.

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the response of growth and production of the corn plant (Zea mays L.) due to the provision of bokashi cow dung and Tempe industrial liquid waste. This study was conducted in February 2017 until June 2017 at Lahan Perkebunan Rakyat Jalan Manunggal Ujung, Desa Bandar Klippa, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Medan Tembung. The design used was Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications and consisted of two factors studied: Bokashi consisting of four levels, e.i : B0 : Control, B1 : 15 ton/ha, B2 : 30 ton/ha and B3 : 45 ton/ha. The use of industrial liquid waste Tempe consisting of four levels, namely, e.i: L0 : Control, L1 : 30 ml/l, L2 : 60 ml / l, L3 : 90 ml/l. The observation data was followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the use of bokashi cow dung had a significant effect on the observation parameters of height, leaf length and cob weight in corn plants that have been observed and not significant to the observation of leaf number, leaf area, dry seed weight each plot. The use of industrial effluent of Tempe has a significant effect on leaf length parameter at age 6 weeks after planting and cob weight/plant each plot but not significant effect on observation of plant height, leaf number, leaf area, dry seed weight each plot.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat yang berjudul: ‘Pakan Racik Organik dari Buah Seri’ bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir dan keahlian yang mandiri secara ekonomi; membantu menciptakan lapangan usaha guna meningkatan pendapatan mitra. Mitra pada PKM ini adalah kelompok pencinta burung kicau yaitu : Nirwana Bird Club dan Oversize Bird Club. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan memberikan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan kepada mitra tentang manfaat buah seri serta pentingnya menggunakan pakan organik untuk burung kicau dan proses pembuatan pakan racik organik. Program kemitraan masyarakat diharapkan dapat diaplikasikan oleh mitra secara mandiri guna mengurangi konsumsi pakan kimia, mengurangi pengeluaran pembelian pakan kimia, mampu memproduksi dan memasarkan pakan racik organik.

Abstract

Utilization of agricultural waste as a source of nutrients, is one of the important things in the organic farming system. The organic farming system is a mainstay in realizing a sustainable agricultural system. One of the agricultural wastes that can be utilized is rice straw. This community service activity was held in Paluh Merbau Hamlet, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The purpose of this community service is to provide direction and examples to farmers about the use of rice straw to be used as bokashi. Rice straw is one source of organic nutrients. Rice straw can be used in the form of compost and bokashi. Rice straw has very good nutrients to be used as organic fertilizer. The end result of this community service is farmers who are proficient in making bokashi rice straw.

Abstract

This research was conducted from January to April 2019 on Jl. Sampali Meteorology in Percut Subdistrict, North Sumatra Province with Altitude + 27 m above sea level. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of rabbit manure and Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) banana stem to the growth and production of green beans. This study used Factorial Randomized Block Design with 2 factors, the first factor was Banana Liquid Organic Ferlizer (LOF ) with 3 levels: P1 (300 ml / l), P2 (450 ml / l) and P3 (600 ml / l) and the second factor giving Rabbit Cage Fertilizer with 4 levels, namely K0 (control), K1 (1 Kg / Plot) and K2 (2 Kg / Plot) And K3 (3 Kg / Plot) The parameters measured were plant height, number of primary branches, flowering age, number of pods containing sample plants, number of empty pods for sample planting, weight of planting seeds, weight of 100 seeds, leaf area. Data from the observations were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with a mean difference test according to the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the liquid organic fertilizer of banana stems had no effect on all parameters of green bean plants. Fertilizer for rabbit manure significantly affected the number of branches and age of green bean plants with K3 (3 Kg / Plot) treatment. There was no interaction between liquid organic fertilizer and rabbit droppings on all parameters

Abstract

The study was to examine the application of sonic bloom and refugia plants to increase growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This study used a Factorial Time Series Randomized Block Design (FTSRBD) with 3 replications. The application factor of refugia plants (R) are 3 levels: R0 = control, R1 = Ocimum basilicum, and R2 = Zinnia elegans with different locations consisting of (S0) = no sound, (S1) = heavy metal music with a frequency of 21 -14000 Hz and (S2) = classical music sound with a frequency of 21-13500 Hz. Data analysis was continued according to Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% confidence level.  The results showed that the application of sonic bloom with classical music influenced plant growth and yield through parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of chlorophyll and number of stomata. Refugia plants with the type of plant O. basilicum affect the growth and yield of plants through the number of leaves parameter. The application of sonic bloom with rock music affects the growth and yield of plants through parameters of pest attack intensity. The interaction of sonic bloom application and refugia plants did not have a significant effect on the observed parameters measured.

Abstract

Konservasi sumber daya tanah adalah perlindungan sumber daya alam tanah. Hal ini dicapai dengan menghilangkan atau mengurangi dampak manusia terhadap lingkungan alam, pemanenan sumber daya lahan yang bertanggung jawab, serta upaya konservasi yang bertujuan untuk membalikkan kerusakan manusia terhadap sumber daya lahan. Konservasi dan pelestarian lingkungan menawarkan dua pendekatan tentang bagaimana mengelola lahan publik secara bertanggung jawab. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penanaman akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanioides) di taman edukasi dan konservasi sumber daya lahan Lembah Juhar, Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatera Utara. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan berupa penanaman 200 bibit tanaman akar wangi yang dilakukan di taman edukasi dan konservasi sumber daya lahan Lembah Juhar, Kabupaten Langkat bersama dengan beberapa praktisi dan akademisi dari berbagai institusi di daerah Sumatera Utara dalam rangka Hari Air Sedunia, selain itu pengabdian masyarakat ini juga memberikan sosialisasi mengenai tanaman akar wangi kepada masyarakat sekitar lahan Lembah Juhar, Kabupaten Langkat mengenai pentingnya konservasi dan pelestarian lingkungan yang sekaligus dapat memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat sebagai taman edukasi.

Abstract

Potensi suatu lahan untuk tujuan tertentu dapat diduga melalui evaluasi lahan. Pulau Sulawesi merupakan salah satu wilayah sentra produksi kakao dengan luasan sekitar 60% dari seluruh wilayah sentra kakao di Indonesia. Produktivitas kakao di Kecamatan Lamuru Kabupaten Bone lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan produktivitas optimal kakao pada umumnya. Oleh karena itu, studi evaluasi kesesuaian lahan tanaman kakao pada Kecamatan Lamuru perlu dilakukan. Studi ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Juli 2022. Evaluasi tingkat kesesuaian lahan dilakukan dengan menganalisis faktor-faktor pembatas dan tindakan perbaikan lahan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan parametrik. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa tipe iklim Desa Sengeng Palie berdasarkan teori Schmidt-Ferguson tergolong tipe C atau agak basah dengan kelas kesesuaian lahan kakao yang aktual dan tergolong sesuai marginal (S3) dengan indeks lahan sebesar 26. Adapun faktor pembatas iklim yang diperoleh adalah curah hujan dan lama bulan kering dengan pemberian irigasi intensif, serta kelembaban udara relatif dan sifat fisik tanah (kedalaman tanah) yang tidak dapat dilakukan tindakan perbaikan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pondok pesantren Madinatuddiniyah Nurul Musthofa memiliki sejumlah 63 orang santri berusia sekitar 6-20 tahun. Santri ini berasal dari keluarga kurang mampu, anak yatim dan anak-anak bermasalah, sehingga biaya kehidupan sehari-hari tidak dibebankan kepada para orang tua santri melainkan pemberian para donatur. Kehidupan di ponpes tidak terlepas dari membaca dan mendengarkan Al Qur’an. Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah membantu meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan warga ponpes untuk bertanam sayuran sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan sayuran sehari-hari dan mengurangi biaya hidup dengan memanfaatkan lahan yang ada menggunakan teknologi sonic bloom. Mitra PKM yang dilatih pada pengabdian ini adalah santri berusia 15-20 tahun yang berjumlah 25 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil yang dicapai adalah meningkatnya pemahaman santri tentang teknologi sonic bloom menjadi 97,33%, pengetahuan santri 90,67% dan keinginan santri untuk melakukan budidaya sayuran dengan sonic bloom sebesar 100%. Abstract: Madinatuddiniyah Islamic Boarding School Nurul Musthofa has 63 students aged around 6-20 years. These students come from underprivileged families, are orphaned and children with problems, so that their daily living expenses are not borne by the students' parents but are provided by donors. Life in Islamic boarding schools is inseparable from reading and listening to the Qur'an. The purpose of this community service (CS) is to help increase the understanding and ability of Islamic boarding school residents to grow vegetables so that they can meet their daily vegetable needs and reduce the cost of living by utilizing existing land using sonic bloom technology. The CS partners who were trained in this service were students aged 15-20 years, totaling 25 persons. The method used are socialization, training and assistance The results achieved were an increase in students' understanding of sonic bloom technology to 97.33%, students' knowledge to 90.67% and students' desire to cultivate vegetables with sonic bloom to 100%.

Abstract

Root induction is an important step in plant propagation in vitro. Root stimulation can occur in the presence of the hormones auxin and gibberellins which can be obtained from other plants, one of which is bananas. The research aims to determine the effect of various species and concentrations of the banana extract on Phalaenopsis amabilis root induction in vitro. The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Tissue Culture Alifa Agricultural Research Center (AARC), Medan, North Sumatera, from May until July 2020. The research used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors, the first factor was the type of banana extract with 3 levels, consisting of Ambon, Raja, and Kepok. The second factor is the concentration of banana extract (C) with 4 levels, consisting of 50 g/l, 100 g/l, 150 g/l, 200 g/l. The results showed that the concentration of banana extract had a significant effect on the number of roots, but various species of bananas and the interaction of the species of bananas and concentration banana extract had no significant effect on root induction
