Abstract

Change of Some Phisycial and Chemical Properties of Peat Soil of Jambo Aye- Aceh Utara and due to Depths of Dranage TreatmentABSTRACT. The objective of this research was to evaluate the change of physical and chemical properties of peat soil of Jambo Aye Aceh Utara due to the depth of drainage treatments. The research was set according to randomized completely design with three replication. Pipes of alluminium with length of 100 cm and diameter of 30 cm was used to set the depth of drainage treatments. The depth of drainage treatments were: no-drainage, 20 cm, 40 cm, and 60 cm. The results showed the dept of drainage on peat soil affected some of physical and chemical properties of peat soil. From the physical properties point of view, the deeper of drainage was conducted, the more subsidence occurred, otherwise the higher bulk density was occurred. From the chemical properties point of view, the drainage more than 20 cm decreased pH, N-total, P-available, K-exchangeable, and Base Saturated, otherwise increased C-organic, Cation Exchangeable Capacity, and Al-exchangeable. It was recommended to use the drainage depth of 20 cm for controlling the change of some physical and chemical properties of peat soil.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of Tripa Peat Swamp Forest (TPSF) in the Province of Aceh Indonesia that has been converted from forest to oil palm plantation and mixed farms. The results showed that the degradation of the peat soil and the environment have occurred in the TPSF. Degradation of peat is characterized by the occurrence of changes in water holding capacity and changes in chemical and physical properties of soil. Environmental degradation is characterized by changes in groundwater levels and land subsidence. TPSF restoration efforts can be carried out in accordance with the directives of land use and land conservation and water management

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the amount of rainfall interception on coffee plants, and obtain a relationship between rainfall and interception of coffee plant. The research was conducted in a coffee plantation in Kebet Village, Bebesen Sub-District, Central Aceh District. The experiment was carried out from February to March 2011. The method used in this research was a descriptive method, using direct measurements in the field. The samples of coffee plants were 4 years and 15 years old. The results showed that rainfall interception of 4 years-coffee-crop was 56.87% of the total rainfall of 82.50 mm  and  that of 15-year-old coffee plants was 72.12%, of total rainfall of 133.50 mm. The greater the rainfall was, the greater the interception would be, as well as the older age of the coffee plant was, the greater the percentage of interception was recorded. The average proportion of rainfall as the water passes (throughfall) was greater than the proportion of rainfall that becomes stream stems (stemflow), due to high density of leaves covering the stem. Relationship between rainfall and interception on coffee plants was a natural logarithm equation: (1) for 4 years coffee crop,  I = 3.440 ln (Pg) + 0.650 and R2 = 0.56; (2) for 15 years old coffee crop, I = 2.992 ln (Pg) + 2.371 and R2 = 0.69.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi dan strategi pengembangan hutan rakyat di Kabupaten Bireuen Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan untuk adalah membandingkan data karakteristik lahan dengan persyaratan tumbuh tanaman yang akan ditanam yaitu sengon, jabon dan mahoni. Strategi pengembangan hutan tanaman rakyat diperoleh dari analisis SWOT. Hasil penilaian penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas kesesuaian lahan seluruh areal pengamatan secara aktual sesuai marginal (S3) dengan faktor pembatas kelerengan, dan kesesuaian lahan potensial cukup sesuai (S2) dengan faktor pembatas temperatur, curah hujan dan kedalaman efektif. Hasil analisis SWOT menunjukkan bahwa total skor faktor internal kekuatan adalah sebesar 3,504; faktor internal kelemahan sebesar 1,481; sedangkan untuk faktor eksternal peluang sebesar 3,573; faktor eksternal ancaman sebesar 1,367. Posisi strategi pengembangan hutan tanaman rakyat terletak pada kuadran 1 dengan nilai koordinat (2,023 ; 2,206). Strategi yang menjadi prioritas untuk diterapkan dalam kondisi ini adalah strategi SO (strength – Oppotunity)  yaitu mendukung kebijakan pertumbuhan yang agresif dengan memanfaatkan peluang yang ada menjadi kekuatan dalam mengembangkan hutan tanaman rakyat di Kabupaten Bireuen.Potential and Forest of the People Development Strategy in the District of Bireuen Aceh ProvinceAbstract.  This study aims to analyze the potential and forest of the people development strategy in the district of Bireuen Aceh Province. The method used are by comparing the characteristics of the land with the requirements of growing crops to be grown is sengon, jabon and mahogany. Forest plantations of the people development strategy derived from the SWOT analysis. The results of assessment of land suitability classes at study sites throughout the observation point has a corresponding class of the actual marginal land suitability (S3) with a slope of the limiting factors and potential land suitability is quite suitable (S2) with the limiting factor of temperature, rainfall and the effective depth. SWOT analysis results showed that the total score internal factor is the strength of 3.504; weakness of internal factors 1.481, whereas the opportunities for external factors of 3.573; external threat of 1.367. The position of the forest plantations of the people development strategy lies in quadrant 1 with the coordinates (2.023; 2.206). The strategy is a priority for this condition is applied in the SO strategy (strength - opportunity) which supports an aggressive policy of growth by leveraging the opportunities that exist to force in developing forest plantations of the people in the district of Bireuen.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of the research were to evaluate soil characteristics, to study land suitability and to propose recommendation of land use and rehabilitation of the tsunami affected agricultural area in Lhoong Sub-District. The result showed that soil textures were varied from very coarse at the area near the coastline to rather fine at the area far from the coast. The soil structures of topsoil were generally plate and blocky, and at subsoil generally massive. The quality of irrigation water in Sub District of Lhoong was still suitable for crops. The pH of water was neutral and low in salinity (0, 4 mS cm-1). The recommendations for land of class A were (1) cleaning and repairing of irrigation and drainage channel, (2) leaching of salinity in topsoil from soil profile by flooding method (irrigation basin) or furrow irrigation,  (3) making the ditches for cultivation in managing the excess of salinity, (4) establishing ditches for paddy, and (5) requiring a specified amount of water for the leaching processes and the amount of water required for crops. The recommendation for land class B were (1) cleaning and repairing of irrigation and drainage channel, (2) removing the sediment above the topsoil, (3) leaching the salt from topsoil passing soil profile  by irrigation water, (4) constructing ditches for cultivation in managing the  excess of salinity.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengevaluasi kesesuaian alokasi ruang RTRW Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012- 2031 dengan alokasi penetapan kawasan hutan Kabupaten Aceh Barat berdasarkan SK Menhutbun No. 170/Kpts- II/2000, dan (2) mengevaluasi penyimpangan penggunaan lahan eksisting Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012 dengan RTRW Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012-2031 dan (3) membahas secara umum penyebab dari penyimpangan penggunaan lahan dan dampak yang ditimbulkannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret 2012 hingga Februari 2013 di Kabupaten Aceh Barat dan di Laboratorium Penginderaan Jauh dan Kartografi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan berbagai data sekunder dan primer yang diperlukan dan analisis tumpang tindih peta (overlay) serta cek lapangan (ground check) penggunaan lahan terkini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi penyimpangan alokasi ruang RTRW Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012-2031 terhadap kawasan hutan Kabupaten Aceh Barat yang ditetapkan dalam SK Menhutbun No. 170/Kpts- II/2000 seluas 6.663,45 ha (2,41%). Penggunaan lahan eksisting Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012 juga menunjukkan terjadi penyimpangan terhadap alokasi ruang RTRW Kabupaten Aceh Barat tahun 2012-2031 yaitu seluas 25.319,21 ha (9,16%). Secara umum faktor penyebab terjadinya penyimpangan penggunaan lahan adalah pemekaran kabupaten/kota, pengembangan infrastruktur wilayah, pengembangan usaha perkebunan dan pertambangan. Penyimpangan penggunaan lahan tersebut berdampak kepada semakin luasnya deforestasi, meningkatnya koefisien limpasan dan frekuensi banjir.Deviation of Land Use Based on Spatial Planning of West Aceh DistrictAbstract. This study aimed to: (1) evaluate the suitability of spatial allocation of space in West Aceh district from 2012 to 2031 with the allocation of forest establishment of West Aceh by Decree of Menhutbun No. 170/Kpts-II/2000, (2) evaluate the deviation of the existing land use of West Aceh district in 2012 with the Spatial West Aceh district of 2012-2031, and (3) discuss generally the cause of the deviation and the impact of land use. This study was conducted from March 2012 to February 2013 in the West Aceh district, and at the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Cartography, Faculty of Agriculture, Kuala University. This research used descriptive method by collecting a variety of secondary and primary data necessary, analysis of overlap maps and ground check for evaluating the current land use. The results showed deviations spatial space allocation of West Aceh District of 2012-2031 to West Aceh forests set out by Decree of Menhutbun No.170/Kpts-II/2000 was 6,663.45 Ha (2.41%). Furthermore, the deviation of existing land use of West Aceh district in 2012 to the spatial allocation of the West Aceh district of 2012-2031 was 25,319.21 Ha (9.16%). In general, the causes of deviation were the division of districts, development of region infrastructure, plantation and mining development. The land use deviations would affect the extent of deforestation, the increasing of runoff coefficients and frequency of floods.

Abstract

Perubahan penggunaan lahan dari tahun 2007 - 2015 mengalami pengurangan sebesar 2,92%, sedangkan luas Lahan pertanian (perkebunan, perkebunan campuran, pertanian lahan basah dan pertanian lahan kering campur semak) bertambah sebesar 7,9 %, dan permukiman bertambah 1,33%. Masyarakat yang berpendidikan sampai S1/D3 12%, SMA 40%, SMP 20%, yang berpendidikan sampai SD 28%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan masyarakat masih rendah mencapai 48 %. Pekerjaan masyarakat di sekitar danau Laut Tawar umumnya petani sebesar 88%, yang mempengaruhi alih fungsi lahan di daerah tangkapan air danau Laut Tawar. Selanjutnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang alih fungsi lahan di Daerah Tangkapan Air Danau Laut Tawar tergolong rendah. Masyarakat tidak mengetahui dampak-dampak alih fungsi lahan di sekitar danau tersebut. Masyarakat juga tidak faham akan peraturan-peraturan yang melarang melakukan pembangunan di sekitar daerah tangkapan air tersebut.

Abstract

Abstrak. Dampak perubahan alih fungsi lahan merupakan kejadian di alam yang perlu dipahami untuk menentukan tindakan yang perlu dilakukan di waktu yang akan datang. Strategi pengelolaan DAS masih membutuhkan suatu inovasi pendekatan hidrologi dan lahan untuk memperbaiki situasi DAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja  Sub DAS Krueng Jreu Berdasarkan Permenhut P.61 tahun 2014 tahun tentang Monitoring dan Evaluasi Pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai yang mencakup karakteristik Lahan dan karakteristik hidrologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan persentase lahan kritis yaitu 2,37% (0,023723 ha), Persentase persentase penutupan vegetasi yaitu 78,61% (18250,64) ha, Indeks Erosi sebesar 0,60, Koefisisien Rejim Aliran (KRA) sebesar 26,62  Koefisien Aliran Tahunan (KAT) didapatkan hasil sebesar 0,056, Muatan Sedimen didapatkan hasil 5,02 ton/ha/tahun, frekuensi banjir adalah 1 kali dalam kurun waktu lima tahun, Indeks Penggunaan Air sebesar 22917,30  m3/thn termasuk dalam kelas sangat baik (0,5). Berdasarkan hasil  skoring 8 Sub kriteria  evaluasi kinerja Sub DAS Krueng Jreu yang meliputi Penggunaan Lahan dan Tata Air maka didapatkan hasil akhir senilai 37,75 dengan katagori sangat baik yang berarti kondisi DAS dalam keadaan sangat baik jika di lihat dari penggunaan lahan dan tata air.Performance Evaluation of Krueng Jreu Sub-watershed, Aceh Besar DistrictAbstract. The impact of changes and land-use changes caused is an event in nature that needs to be understood to determine the actions that need to be taken in the future. The watershed management strategy still requires innovation to improve the watershed situation. This study aims to determine the performance of the Krueng Jreu sub-watershed based on the Regulation of the Minister of Forestry P.61 of 2014 concerning Monitoring and Evaluation of Watersheds which includes hydrological characteristics and characteristics. The results showed that critical land was 2.37% (0.023723 ha), the percentage of vegetation cover percentage was 78.61% (18250.64) ha, the Erosion Index was 0.60, the Flow Regime Coefficient (KRA) was 26.62 The Annual Flow Coefficient (KAT) yields 0.056, Sediment Load yields 5.02 tons/ha/year, the frequency of flooding is 1 time within five years, the Water Use Index is 22917.30 m3/yr included in the very good class. (0.5). Based on the scoring of 8 Sub Criteria for evaluating the performance of the Krueng Jreu Watershed which includes Land Use and Water Management, the final result is 37.75 with a very good category which means the watershed condition is in very good condition when viewed from land use and water management.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kawasan Suaka Margasatwa Rawa Singkil mempunyai fungsi di kawasan konservasi yang sangat penting, karena kawasan ini memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman yang sangat tinggi. Saat ini, data untuk kandungan bahan organik dan analisis vegetasi di hutan mangrove Aceh Singkil belum begitu lengkap, karena itu yang dibutuhkannya penelitian ini juga dapat menjadi acuan dalam peningkatan rehabilitasi hutan mangrove kedepannya. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling.Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh nilai indeks keanekaragaman jenis yaitu antara 0 - 0,35, nilai ini tergolong dalam H '2.3026 yang berarti tingkat kestabilan komunitas yang rendah dan tingkat keanekaragamannya juga rendah. Rendahnya nilai indeks keanekaragaman disebabkan oleh kandungan bahan organik tanah yang rendah, yaitu kandungan C-organik, N-total, dan pH tanah.  Abstract. The Singkil wildlife reserve has a very important  conservation function, because this area has very high diversity. Currently, the data for organic matter content and analysis of vegetation in Aceh Singkil mangrove forests are not yet complete, this research is needed which can also be a reference in improving mangrove forest rehabilitation in the future. The method used in this research is purposive sampling method. Based on the research results, the index value of species diversity between 0 – 0,35 is obtained, this value belong to H´ 2.3026 which a low level of community stability and indicates a small level of diversity. The low diversity index value is caused by the low content of soil organic matter (C-organic, N-total, and soil pH).

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelas mutu air untuk kebutuhan penduduk berdasarkan baku mutu di sekitar Sub DAS Kalarengkih Kabupaten Aceh Tengah.. Lokasi di Sub DAS Kalarengkih Kecamatan Bintang Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan melalui survei lapang dan analisis laboratorium. Untuk pengambilan sampel air dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel dengan cara penarikan sampel yang dilakukan memilih subjek berdasarkan kriteria spesifik yang dianggap tepat dan sesuai terhadap fenomena yang diteliti yaitu terdiri dari 5 titik sampel. analisis kelas mutu air sungai mempergunakan baku mutu sebagai pembanding untuk kelayakan kualitas parameter sungai yaitu Peraturan Pemerintah No 82 Tahun 2001 yaitu mengkaji data baku mutu air hanya untuk parameter fisika (TSS, TDS, Temperatur, Kekeruhan) dan kimia (Nitrat, Nitrit, pH, BOD, COD, Sulfat) selanjutnya dapat ditentukan klasifikasi airnya. Hasil Kelas Mutu Air Sub DAS kalarengkih berdasarkan baku mutu pada titik 1 tergolong Kelas 1 yang berada pada hulu Sub DAS Kalarengkih. Pada titik 2, 3, 4 dan 5 tergolong Kelas 4  dengan faktor pembatas Nitrit yang melebihi batas ambang baku mutu, disamping itu pada titik 4 juga terdapat nilai Nitrat yang tinggi, Nitrit terdapat pada outlet yang berada pada areal persawahan sedangkan Nitrat outletnya berada pada areal pemukiman, hal ini diduga Nitrit berasal dari hasil pemupukan dan Nitrat diduga hasil dari buangan limbah pemukiman.Analysis Class of Water Quality Based on Quality Standard in Kalarengkih Wateshed Regency of Aceh TengahAbstract. This study aims to determine the quality class of water for the needs of the population based on quality standards around the Kalarengkih Sub-Basin Central Aceh Regency .. Location in Kalarengkih Sub DAS Sub-District Bintang Regency Central Aceh. The research used quantitative descriptive method implemented through field survey and laboratory analysis. For the sampling of water is done by purposive sampling that is sampling by way of sampling conducted by choosing subject based on specific criterion which is deemed appropriate and appropriate to phenomenon studied that consist of 5 point sample. analysis of river water quality class using quality standard as a comparison for the feasibility of river parameter quality that is Government Regulation No. 82 Year 2001 that is studying data of water quality standard only for physics parameter (TSS, TDS, Temperature, Turbidity) and chemistry (Nitrate, Nitrite, pH, BOD, COD, Sulfate) can then be determined water classification. Results Quality Class Water Sub DAS kalarengkih based on the quality standard at point 1 Class Class 1 located in the upstream Kalarengkih Sub-watershed. At point 2, 3, 4 and 5 belong to Class 4 with limiting factor of Nitrite which exceed the quality standard threshold, beside that at point 4 there is also high Nitrate value, Nitrite is in outlet located in rice field area while Nitrate outlet is in area settlement, it is suspected Nitrite comes from the result of fertilization and Nitrate is suspected to result from disposal of waste settlement.
