Abstract

Abstract. Hospital inventory management play a very significant role in hospital's performance. Too much inventory wiil lead to excessive inventory cost but too low inventory might result in dissatisfactions of patiens and lack of performance of physicians or doctors. Economic order Quantity (EOQ) is an inventory control method that can help hospital to minimize total inventort cost. However, managers might find difficulties in deterimining the right amount of ordering and holding cost which are needed in calculating EOQ. This research is a case study from a class “A” specialized hospital. Inventory data of pharmaceutical items are calculated to measure the sensitivity of changes in ordering and holding cost to average inventory level which will lead to understock or overstock. Different ordering cost and holding cost will lead to different proportion of overstock and understock but will not give a significant differences. This research recommend EOQ model to be used in hospital inventory management inspite of the difficulty and hesitation of hospitals to estimate ordering and holding cost. Keywords: Economic order quantity, sensitivity analysis, hospital inventory management, overstock, healthcare inventory management, holding cost, ordering cost, fixed order quantityAbstrak.

Abstract

Draw point is a loading pointh beneath a stope, utilizing gravity to move down bulk material in underground mine block caving of PT Freeport Indonesia. A draw point is a steel set that is erected and poured in place with concrete. There are 9 sub processes of draw point construction: site preparation, lean concrete, embedded rail, concrete floor, anvil top, lintel set, forming & meshing, wall & roof concrete, stripping & general clean-up. Based on data analysis period 2008, there is a gap 4.03 until draw point of yearly target with average of completion time of a draw point construction 46.44 shifts and standard deviation 6.95 shifts. It is slower by 9.7% of target 42 shifts. The high standard deviation and slower process indicate there is a process quality problem in draw point construction so it makes draw point construction incompliance to achieve its monthly or yearly target. For improving the process quality, Six Sigma approach with DMAIC methodology will be used to indentify incapable process and its causes. Then alternative solutions are proposed to fix it and control the key process variable causing the defects. Keywords:completion time, process quality, six sigma, DMAIC

The author decides to determine the optimal regulation for the future of product replenishment system in K-24 Pharmacy Pondok Pinang. Therefore, the author needs to find new strategies to find the right regulation of product replenishment system that can reduce the total cost.
