Abstract

This study aims to reveal the contribution of teaching factory program implementation on work readiness of Vocational High School (VHS) students in Makassar. The research method used is quantitative approach with causal comparative. The population in this research is the students of VHS class XII in Makassar of academic year 2017/2018 who have carried out the work practice in teaching factory. The sample of 140 students is determined by proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis technique used is descriptive and inferential statistic analysis. The results showed that there is a significant influence between the contribution of teaching factory program implementation on work readiness of vocational high school students in Makassar with a contribution of 34.6%. These results indicate that the implementation of the teaching factory program of vocational high schools should be optimized to improve the work readiness of vocational high school students so that the level of employment of vocational graduates is increasing.

Abstract

Principal leadership is very important in the education and learning efforts of the 21st-century. This study aims to find determinants of principal leadership solutions in dealing with 21st-century learning in Vocational High Schools (VHS). This research was conducted with a total sample of 64 respondents from the principals, the vice principal for field I-IV, the head of department, and staff. The data analysis used the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method to test the validity of the constructs and to estimate the reliability of the data. Furthermore, the t-test, One Way Anova, and Games-Howell test were used to test the difference in the average rating based on the characteristics of the respondent's dimensions. The results of the EFA analysis show that seven sub-variables are consisting of 29 determinants of the principal's leadership solution which are identified at 74.266%. The results of the instrument reliability estimation have a reliable level. Based on the different tests using the t-test on the gender dimension and the One Way Anova test on the last position and education dimension, it was concluded that there was no significant difference in the assessment of respondents. The Games-Howell test post-hoc revealed that there were significant differences based on the 29-33 year age dimension and the 5-9-year-old teaching experience dimension.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the achievement of the implementation of training programs at UPT BLK Surabaya and to provide recommendations for the next training program. This research is evaluation research using the CIPPO (context, input, process, product, and outcome) model. The research instrument is a questionnaire validated through expert judgment, and given to two groups of respondents: the training participants and instructors. The research respondents were 199 consisting of 180 training participants, 19 instructors. The research findings are as follows. (1) The context aspect, which is the suitability of the program with the objectives of the institution, the needs of the community and industry, was stated good by the participants and very good by instructors and supported by the completeness of legal basic documents and the characteristics of the training program. (2) The input aspect, which is infrastructure, selection process, instructors competence, curriculum, and funds were stated good by the participants and very good by instructors. (3) The process aspects, which are planning, implementation, and supervision, are in accordance with the SOP applied by the government. The implementation of the training program was stated good by the participants and very good the instructors. (4) The product aspect, which is the competence of the participants, was stated very good by participants and instructors. (5) In the aspect of outcome, the percentage of the absorption rate of graduates in the business sector and industrial sector is 37%. The recommendation to the aspect of infrastructure is to increase the number and cleanliness of bathrooms.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in vocational schools, Banten in terms of the readiness and quality of the learning tools that have been prepared. A total of 957 respondents from 2017 to 2018, consisting of four cities and three districts in Banten Province were involved in the training and mentoring program, namely vocational teachers and vice-principals in the curriculum field. Data were collected using questionnaire sheets, FGD notes, and observation check dates. The data obtained are analyzed and interpreted based on the specified categories. The results showed that: 1) Teacher readiness for learning tools in the components a) Core Competencies (CC) and Basic Competencies (BC) analysis of 45.31%, b) Program mapping of 38.37%, learning plan preparation of 39.45% and c) Learning evaluation of 36.78%; 2) The quality of lesson plan (LP) the science lesson plan analysis instrument (SLPAI) based is divided into two groups. The category "Quality" in the instructional program and instructional plan aspects, and the category "Moderate" in the instructional media and assessment and others aspects; and 3) The difficulty of learning device components, including authentic assessment, use of methods, literacy approaches, and lesson planning. The implementation of training, mentoring, and supervision programs are adjusted to the experience of vocational teachers taking into account the teacher's involvement in the implementation of the curriculum, age, and school readiness.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) wawasan kevokasionalan (pemahaman tentang SMK sebagai pendidikan dunia kerja (X1), pemahaman jenis-jenis program keahlian (X2), pemahaman dunia kerja (X3), layanan bimbingan konseling(X6)), lingkungan belajar (X4), Potensi daerah (X5), dan latar belakang sosial ekonomi orang tua (X7) siswa SMP kelas IX terhadap minat melanjutkan di SMK; (2) pengaruh wawasan kevokasionalan siswa SMP kelas IX  (pemahaman tentang SMK sebagai pendidikan dunia kerja (X1), pemahaman jenis-jenis program keahlian (X2), pemahaman duni kerja (X3), layanan bimbingan konseling(X6)), lingkungan belajar (X4), Potensi daerah (X5), dan latar belakang sosial ekonomi orang tua (X7) siswa SMP kelas IX terhadap minat (Y) melanjutkan di SMK. Penelitian merupakan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif berjenis asosiasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) variabel X­1, X­2, X­3,X5,X­6cenderung mendekati kategori tinggi dengan nilai persentase secara berurutan 75%, 72,23%, 71,72%, 71,89%, 72,46%, dan variabel X4, X7 cenderung mendekati kategori rendah dengan nilai persentase secara berurutan 62,09%, 56,51%; (2) variabel X­1, X­2, X­3,X4, X­5,X­6, ­X7 ada pengaruh terhadap variabel Y dengan nilai koefisien korelasi secara berurutan 0.504, 0,590, 0,837, 0,178, 0,374, 0,706, 0,178 dan secara bersama-sama X1,X2,X3,X4,X5,X6,X7 terhadap Y ada pengaruh dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,767.

Abstract

This study aims at revealing the influence of: (1) teaching style towards textile learning outcomes, (2) learning styles towards textile learning outcomes, (3) the effect of from teaching style, learning style, and achievement motivation towards textile learning outcomes, (4) the significance of teaching style, learning style and, achievement motivation towards textile learning outcomes for individual or group. This research can be categorized as quantitative study with a correlational model. The data analysis used multiple regression analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that (1) there is a positive and significant influence of teaching style towards textile learning outcomes, (2) there is a positive and significant influence of learning styles towards textile learning outcomes, (3) there is a positive and significant influence from teaching style, learning style, and achievement motivation towards Textile learning outcomes, (4) the influence of teaching style, learning style and achievement motivation were 26.6% and the rest was coming from other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the praxis of project-based learning at PIKA Vocational Secondary School Semarang and to identify the advantages and disadvantages. The design of this research is a qualitative case study. The data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The informants of this study were: principal, vice-principal, teachers, employees, and students. This study shows that: (1) there are two patterns of project-based learning at PIKA VSS Semarang. The first pattern is an internal internship program, and the second is learning a productive practice program. (2) The advantages of project-based learning are: (a) it trains the students’ sense of entrepreneurship; (b) it develops learning motivation; (c) it gives a complete, real and contextual learning experience; and (d) it develops the students’ hard skills and soft skills. The disadvantages of project-based learning are: (a) it requires the acquisition competencies to perform project assignments; (b) it takes times; (c) it requires high operational costs; (d) it requires adequate facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the conception of vocational education by the Islamic boarding school community; (2) describe the education system at SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang. The study was conducted at SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang using qualitative approach of a case study. The data collection used interviews, participant observation, and documents. The research informants consisted of the chairman of the foundation of Syubbanul Wathon, the caretakers, the principal, the vice principal, the teachers, the cleric, and the students. The results of the study were: (1) The conception of vocational education by Islamic Boarding School community is ngluru ngilmu which means sincerity between teachers and students, (2) The system of vocational education based on Islamic boarding school in SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang include: (a) the context: SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang has internalized the dynamics of context into formulation of school vision, mission, goals, and activities; (b) input: SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang applies KTSP and Islamic boarding school curriculum; (c) process, SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang integrates the school and Islamic boarding school system; (d) output, SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang graduates have vocational skills, strong religiosity, independence, discipline and skills in foreign languages; (e) outcome: 44% of SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang graduates worked, 42% went to college, and 14% went to salaf boarding school or entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap: (1) pengaruh motivasi berprestasi, disiplin belajar, pengalaman prakerin, sarana dan prasarana, kinerja guru, dan dukungan orang tua baik secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap prestasi belajar praktik kejuruan ditinjau dari hasil uji kompetensi keahlian, (2) faktor yang berpengaruh paling besar terhadap prestasi belajar praktik kejuruan siswa SMK program studi keahlian teknik komputer dan informatika di Kabupaten Sumbawa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII Program Studi Keahlian Teknik Komputer dan Informatika di Kabupaten Sumbawa. Sampel sejumlah 228 siswa diperoleh menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuisioner tertutup dan dokumen. Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi sederhana dan regresi ganda dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan secara parsial masing-masing faktor berikut: motivasi berprestasi sebesar 15,79%, sarana dan prasarana sebesar 14,87%, disiplin belajar sebesar 13,31%, pengalaman prakerin sebesar 11,53%, kinerja guru sebesar 11,337%, dan dukungan orang tua sebesar 6,967% terhadap prestasi belajar praktik kejuruan siswa. (2) Besarnya pengaruh secara simultan dari faktor-faktor tersebut adalah 73,81%, sedangkan sisanya 26,29% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diujikan dalam penelitian ini. (3) Faktor yang memberikan pengaruh paling besar adalah faktor motivasi berprestasi, dengan besarnya pengaruh 15,79%  THE FACTORS AFFECTING THE ACHIEVEMENT IN VOCATIONAL PRACTICE OF THE STUDENTS OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (SMK) COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATICS PROGRAMAbstractThis study aims to reveal: (1) the effect of achievement motivation, learning discipline, industrial practical experience, infrastructure, teachers’ performance, and the support of parents either individually or simultaneously to the achievement in vocational practice in terms of the results of the competency test, (2) the factors that have the most effecton the achievement in vocational practice of vocational high school students of computer technology and informatics program in Sumbawa. The population was all students of vocational high school class XII in the computer technology and informatics program in Sumbawa. A sample of 228 students was established using the proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used were a questionnaire and document. The data analysis used the simple regression and multiple regression analyses at the significance level of 5%. The results of the study are as follows. (1) There significant effect of partial each factor is: achievement motivation by 15.79%, infrastructure by 14.87%, discipline by 13.31%, industrial practical experience by 11.53, teachers’ performance by 11.337%, and support from parents by 6.967%. (2) The simultaneous effect of these factors are 73.81%, while the remaining 26.29% effect by other factors not under study. (3) The factor that affect most is achievement motivation factor with the effect of 15.79%

Abstract

This study aims to: 1.) Develop an Edmodo-based e-module for making  Hosanna Moda system bustier to increase independence and achievement in learning custom-made clothing; 2.) Describe the feasibility of the developed  e-module; and 3.) Reveal the effectiveness of the developed e-module in increasing student learning independence and learning achievement. This research is development research, which was carried out on grade XII students of Fashion, State Vocational High School 3 Magelang. The product trial consisted of a validity test by three experts, a small-scale trial involving 12 students, a large-scale trial involving 24 students, and an effectiveness test involving one control and one experimental group each consisting of 36 students. The data were collected using questionnaires and tests as well as through interviews. The data analysis used is a quantitative description and the effectiveness testing using the t-test. The results of the study are as follows: 1.) The developed e-module contains learning materials about making the Hosanna Moda system bustier illustrated with relevant pictures to make it easier for students to understand it when studying independently; 2.) The product has been declared feasible by a material expert, media expert, and linguist. In the operational trial, teacher responses are with an average score of 5.00 (very good category and suitable for use), and student responses are with an average score of 4.59 (very good category and suitable for use); and 3.) The results of the effectiveness testing on student learning independence is at the significance level of 0.000 (0.050) indicating that the learning independence of experimental group students was higher than that of the control group, while the results of the effectiveness test on student learning achievement are at the significance level of 0.001 (0.050) indicating an average value. The posttest average score of the experimental group was much higher than that of the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed e-module is effective in increasing student learning independence and learning achievement.
