Abstract

This study confirms the correlation model constructed among organizational abilities variables of secondary school teachers. The organizational abilities variables are: organizational commitment, and professional commitment, job satisfaction, and job performance. The samples are secondary school teachers selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through a rating scale questionnaire (1-5) and analyzed using Lisrel 8.0 program. The results show that professional commitment has a significant effect on organizational commitment and job satisfaction with values of 2.72 and 2.60. Other findings that organizational commitment and job satisfaction have an effect on job performance with values of 2.36 and 2.02. Empirically, the results concluded that the correlation among the variables theoretically fulfilled the fit criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on mathematics learning achievement, (2) analyze the level of students 'reasoning towards mathematics learning achievement, and (3) determine the interaction of Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and the level of students' reasoning on mathematics learning achievement. This type of research uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. All grade VIII students of State Junior High School 1 Sambi were the population of this study. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, 31 experimental  and 32 control students, with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the ANOVA technique. Two ways with different cells. The results of the study with a significance level of 5% are (1) there is a good effect using Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on students 'mathematics learning achievement, (2) there is a good effect of reasoning on students' mathematics learning achievement, and (3) there is no interaction between Discovery Learning. Think Pair Share setting and students' reasoning. Therefore, it is concluded that mathematics learning achievement can be influenced by Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and reasoning. Keywords: Discovery learning setting think pair share; mathematics learning outcomes; reasoning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, (2) menganalisis tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, dan (3) mengetahui interaksi Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sambi menjadi populasi penelitian ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas dengan 31 siswa eksperimen dan 32 siswa kontrol, dan pengambilan teknik sampling menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik ANAVA dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian dengan tingkat signifikansi 5% adalah (1) ada pengaruh baik menggunakan Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, (2) ada pengaruh baik penalaran terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dan (3) tidak ada interaksi antara Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran siswa. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika dapat dipengaruhi oleh Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning setting think pair share; penalaran; prestasi belajar matematika.

Abstract

Teachers’ diagnostic practice on students-difficulties is one of the important steps in designing and managing classroom lessons. The purpose of this study was to explore teachers’ perception and practices regarding diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The participants of the study were 28 Indonesian mathematics teachers of Junior High School. The data was collected through a Focus Group Discussion and a teacher questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively to describe how the teachers perceive learning difficulties and how the teachers diagnosed students’ learning difficulties. The results of the analysis reveal that the teachers do not yet perform an in-depth diagnosis of students’ difficulties in learning mathematics. The teachers only focus on the mathematics topics and non-mathematical issues, instead of on students’ thinking process. The teachers also do not differentiate the diagnosis, evaluation, and prediction test. With regard to the strategies used by the teachers to diagnose students’ difficulties, analyzing students’ responses to tests was the majority. In this respect, observing students’ learning process during classroom activities is rarely done by the teachers in the purpose of diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The results of the diagnosis are mainly used as the basis for remedial and drill and practices. The results imply that more support is needed for teachers to improve their competences particularly in diagnosing students’ thinking process difficulties when learning mathematics.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aims to determine the impact of realistic mathematics education (RME) on increasing Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities (MPSA). The research design used was the non-equivalent control group with the subject population of all junior high school students in the city of Yogyakarta originating from low (C), moderate (B), and high (A) levels. From each school level, one school was taken then from each school taken an experimental class that received RME and one class of control who received regular learning (PB). The instrument used is in the form of two sets of equivalent MPSA tests. Data analysis uses the t-test and Anava. The results of the research were: (1) an increase in the MPSA of RME students was higher than the increase in the MPSA of PB students for all students and all levels of the school; (2) the highest increase in MPSA for RME students occurs at level A schools; and (3) there is no interaction between learning at school level in increasing MPSA.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a scale to measure honesty characters of students on mathematics learning using sucject scaling model. This development research is carried out in several steps namely: preparing initial scales, trials, and interpretation of trials result. The research is conducted on students of SMP N 5 Yogyakarta, SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta, and SMPIT Abu Bakar Yogyakarta. The first trial involves 688 students and the second trial involves 696 students. Content validity is obtained through expert judgment. The construct validity is determined by Lisrel’s second order CFA. Reliability coefficients include Omega coefficients (ω) and Alpha coefficients from Cronbach. Based on the results of this research, the scale to measure of student’s honesty characters consists of 15 items that theoretically and empirically proved to be of good quality. The scale has good content validity supported by V Aiken index of 0.88-0.92. The scale has good construct validity. Reliability of the scale is also good supported by both the Omega coefficient of 0.86.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan jenis kesulitan siswa SMA/MA Kabupaten Maluku Tengah dalam menyelesaikan soal setara UN dan faktor yang menyebabkannya. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah 1819 siswa kelas XII SMA/MA Program IPA dari 53 sekolah di Kabupaten Maluku Tengah. Sampel berasal dari tujuh sekolah dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 95 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tulis berbentuk urai-an dan dilengkapi dengan wawancara terhadap subjek untuk melacak jenis kesulitan; yakni kesulitan fakta, ketrampilan, konsep, dan prinsip serta faktor penyebabnya. Soal yang diujikan sebanyak 10 butir soal yang merupakan soal dengan daya serap rendah berdasarkan hasil UN tahun 2008 hingga 2011. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menghitung banyak kesulitan siswa yang didukung hasil tes dan wawancara, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesulitan fakta tertinggi dialami sekolah strata rendah diikuti strata sedang kemudian strata tinggi. Urutan tingkat kesulitan tersebut juga terjadi dalam hal kesulitan ketrampilan, konsep, dan prinsip. Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan berdasarkan hasil telaah terhadap jawaban siswa adalah siswa tidak mampu dalam hal penguasaan konsep, perpaduan antarkonsep, ketrampilan dalam menyelesaikan soal turunan dalam trigonometri dan teknik integral, penggunaan perbandingan trigonometri, penentuan banyaknya pilihan dalam menyelesaikan soal kombinasi, penentuan persamaan garis singgung lingkaran, penggunaan aturan kosinus dalam menentukan volume bangun ruang, penggunaan konsep limit baik bentuk aljabar maupun trigonometri, pembuatan model matematika, danpenentuan daerah asal suatu fungsi komposisi. Kata kunci: kesulitan, fakta, konsep, ketrampilan, prinsip, Ujian Nasional SMA/MA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran Teorema Pythagoras dengan pendekatan IDEAL berbantuan GeoGebra ditinjau dari prestasi dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model 4-D dari Thiagarajan, Semmel, Semmel. Tahapannya meliputi define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pati dengan satu kelas uji coba yang dipilih secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan penyelesaian masalah (TKPM), angket motivasi, lembar validasi, dan lembar penilaian guru dan siswa. Instrumen TKPM digunakan untuk mengetahui prestasi dan daya serap siswa, angket motivasi untuk mengetahui skor motivasi belajar matematika siswa, lembar validasi untuk mengetahui kevalidan produk yang dikembangkan, dan lembar penilaian oleh guru dan siswa untuk mengetahui tingkat kepraktisan produk yang dikembangkan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) produk perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini berupa silabus, RPP, dan LKS sangat valid; (2) produk perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sangat praktis bagi guru dan siswa; dan (3) produk perangkat pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria sangat efektif ditinjau dari prestasi dan motivasi belajar siswa, sebanyak 83,33% siswa berhasil mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan dan 87,5% siswa memiliki motivasi belajar matematika yang tinggi. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan belajar operasi pecahan siswa sekolah dasar menurut teori Gravemeijer di Kabupaten Ngada NTT. Jenis penelitian kualitatif fenomenologi digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian. Dalam penelitian ini Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) memainkan peranan penting sebagai instrumen penelitian. Perangkat pembelajaran yang disusun untuk menjalankan serangkaian aktivitas belajar dalam HLT telah dikonsultasikan dengan dua orang ahli Pembelajaran Matematika selanjutnya diuji coba pada kelompok kecil yaitu lima siswa Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Katolik Bomari Langa pada tahap eksperimen pilot. Selanjutnya HLT dibandingkan dalam proses pembelajaran sebenarnya pada tahap eksperimen pengajaran dengan 24 siswa. Berdasarkan analisis ditemukan bahwa siswa dapat berkembang dalam belajar operasi pecahan dengan menggunakan tingkat aktivitas yang berbeda berdasarkan pendekatan PMR menurut teori Gravemeijer. Pada level pertama yaitu level situasional, Drama Matematika dapat menstimulasi pengetahuan informal siswa tentang prosedur operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Pada level referensial, untaian manik-manik dan kartu pecahan menjadi model dari situasi drama matematika yang merupakan jembatan menuju gagasan penggunaan garis bilangan untuk operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Pada level ketiga yaitu level general, siswa dapat menggunakan garis bilangan sebagai model untuk operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Pada level formal, dengan bantuan untaian bilangan membawa siswa mengkonstruksi soal cerita sendiri dan menyelesaikan soal cerita yang dihasilkan dengan prosedur formal operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Kata Kunci: Teori Gravemeijer, hipotesis trayektori belajar, penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan.

Abstract

The study aims at generating a product in the form of comic book and also displaying the feasibility and the effectiveness of the comic book in improving the mathematical problem-solving skills and the self-confidence of the Grade IV students in the Muhammadiyah Elementary School Condongcatur Yogyakarta. The study is a Research and Development initiative (R) with reference to 10 stages that have been developed by Borg Gall. During the conduct of the study, the subjects were the Grade IV students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School Condongcatur Yogyakarta. The results of the study show that: (1) a comic book-based learning media that meet the criteria of feasibility based on the validation results by the material expert, the media expert, the teacher response and the students response have been generated with “Good” category; and (2) the comic book-based learning media that have been generated are effective for improving the students’ mathematical problem-solving skills and also the students’ self-confidence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see how self-efficacy of students towards the learning process online amid the Covid-19 outbreak. This research is a descriptive study that describes self-efficacy based on the dimensions that exist in self-efficacy and is summarized and used as a measurement tool or instrument, namely the level (magnitude) associated with task difficulties, strength related to the effort made by students, and energy-related to space. the scope of student beliefs. The instrument used was a non-test in the form of a questionnaire self-efficacy consisting of 30 statements with 4 choices and 616 respondents. The result is that the dimensions of the level of Indonesian SMP / MTs students are in the medium category with a percentage of 55.04%, which means that when students are faced with difficult tasks during learning online, students can overcome them. The dimension strength is in the medium category with a percentage of 56.82%, this shows that the efforts and resilience of Indonesian SMP / MTs students in doing assignments in learning are online quite persistent and do not give up easily. The dimension generality is in the medium category with a percentage of 45.94%, which means that Indonesian SMP / MTs students' confidence in completing different tasks is quite good. In general, the self-efficacy of Indonesian SMP / MTs students in learning online is quite good.
