Abstract

This study aims to determine the construction of reality carried out by the community against the tomb of Dewi Sekardadu as pro-poor tourism development. This research method is qualitative with the Peter L. Berger phenomenological approach. The results showed that there was a construction of reality carried out through three stages (externalization, objectivation, internalization). In the externalization, the stakeholders emphasized the Islamic side of Dewi Sekardadu. The objective reality of Dewi Sekardadu as an Islamic figure was accepted by the whole community because they got primary socialization from the family. Secondary socialization of Dewi Sekardau's tomb as a tourism commodity occurs when the community is mature. Due to a lack of knowledge, existing tourism support facilities cannot be maximized by most people. They still work as keepers of fish ponds and river fishermen due to the lack of socialization and training in tourism management from the government.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the construction of the media on Ahok's preaching in the polemic on Al-Maidah 51 (analysis of framing on kompas.com and republika.co.id edition 27 September - 27 December 2016). The research method used is a qualitative research method framing analysis of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki models. The results of the framing analysis of Ahok in Polemik Surat Al-Maidah 51 that, news articles published by the two online news portals are not neutral. Kompas.com, looks very strongly in defense of Ahok, while Republika.co.id looks very strongly in defense of Muslims. Group affiliation and interest sentiment are very influential in this news. This can be seen from the analysis using the agenda theory setting which greatly affects the Kompas.com and Republika.co.id online media in the selection of newsKeywords: Framing analysis, media construction, agenda setting, Al-Maidah-51

Abstract

Okezone.com in the case of speeches that professed indigenous words by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with framing analysis from Robert N. Entman which consists of define problems, diagnose couses, make moral judgement and treatment recomendation. The theory used to see the truth in the context of framing analysis study is the second stage of agenda setting from Mc Combs. The results of this study are Media Indonesia.com and Okezone.com in presenting news about indigenous speeches by Anies Baswedan are not neutral. In accordance with the second stage of agenda setting Mc Combs that highlighted is attribute. The attribute referred here is indigenous word which refers to the Dutch designation to demean Indonesian citizens, indigenous words discriminate race and ethnicity, indigenous words can divide Indonesian citizens, and indigenous words not worthy of saying.

Abstract

This study aims to know how is the effect of interpersonal communication Madurese traders to the cultural acculturation and work ethic of local communities at Pasar Larangan Sidoarjo. The method used in this study is quantitative. The data collection used are questioner presented to 97 respondents who was local communities and Madurese traders at Pasar Larangan Sidoarjo, with simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used is simple linear regression. The result of this study is variable of interpersonal communication has an effect to the cultural acculturation and work ethic. Cultural acculturation has been proved by there is tolerance, the same shoes in economic, the feeling of sympathize to the other culture, the marriage between Madurese and Javanese and an intense interaction among communities. Meanwhile work ethic has been proved by four aspects as follows, time responsibility, toughand never give up, the feeling of being independently and also easy to adaptable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motives of vlog audience "beti family". This study uses in-depth interviews, and documentation. Measurement of motifs in this study uses McQuail's motive theory, namely: information motives, personal identity motives, social interaction motives, and entertainment motives. The Uses and Gratification Theory assumes that media is not all powerful, which has a high power, that is to its users. Media users have the choice of consuming media to satisfy their needs. The "Beti Family" vlog Arif Muhammad's youtube channel is the research subject chosen by the researcher. This is because one of the drama vlogs on YouTube is the most popular community and is often included in YouTube's tranding column. The results that can be dominant in the motives of social interaction and entertainment motives. The informant's answer about the motives of social interaction because it allows the informant to interact with each other and get new conversations about the uniqueness contained in this vlog. And for answers about entertainment motives because they want to get entertainment and want to get rid of boredom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the communication used by opinion leaders in Kalisat village gives rise to a form of commodification of contract marriage. The method in this research is using a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out by direct field observation in which researchers went directly to the field to find data in the field and carried out in-depth interview techniques that were carried out freely. The results of this study are, in the commodification process of this contract marriage there is a form of communication in which this communication is carried out face to face or face to face, namely a communication process carried out by the communicator to a communicant which is carried out directly without any help or intermediary of a media. The communication technique used by opinion leaders to invite and convince prospective brides and grooms, both men and women, is to use persuasive communication techniques. Where opinion leaders try to persuade and promise a number of advantages if they want to follow this practice, this is in accordance with the basic principles of commodification theory which changes something that initially only has use value and then turns it into something that can be sold and has a selling value in the market.

Abstract

Game Nusantara Online is the only online game that lifted the Indonesian culture hey day empires that ever existed and is the only original online games domestically-made. So it is not surprising that this game displays various types of display depicting national cultural identity in the game. The method used in analyzing was John Fiske the semiotics (semiology) through three tiers level, reality, representation, and ideology in the opening game in the form of nondialogue short film, but it was also analyzed in the game play in game logo, the cast of characters, and missions “Timun Mas”. Further analysis was based on the study of literature and other supporting data to determinenational cultural identity. After doing research on the game Nusantara Online, it was found that national cultural identity displayed on the level of reality by visualizing typical clothing and accessories of Indonesia empire at that time, the use of the name on the cast of characters that has its own story and has become the local culture, including Hayam Wuruk, Elephant Mada, and others. Visualization of social life, such as religious rituals Bendrong Dimples and Bali, and incorporate folklore or legends in the game missions. While the level of representation, the camera technique is used so that the details of the national cultural identity clearly visible on the clothing motif and shape of the building. The ideology that displayed the Nusantara Online games are games that have cultural values and history of Nusantara (Indonesia).

Abstract

Medical representative as the spearhead of the company that specialized in selling hard drugs and psychotropic substances should be able to market their products well and is consistent with the use of marketing communications strategy by personal medical representative. This study used qualitative methods with Medical representatives and specialized doctors as the informants using the analysis techniques of the domain of data and taxonomy. The result of the study is that representative medical marketing communications strategy can be systematically grouped into Opening (opening), Probing (questioning techniques), Supporting (presentation), Objection Handling (overcoming objections), and Closing (closing). To support it, the necessary thing is the ability of Productions knowledge. Other Medical representative strategy to support its activities are some programs such sponsorship Symposium, Seminar, Workshop, RTD (round table Discussion), customer service (service offers), entertainment and gimmick.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to explain the meaning of symbolic interaction behaviors is used parking attendants to collect of illegal parking fees subscribe. This type of research was qualitative research. Data collection techniques is obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results study showed that the activities is done by illegal parking officer are: illegal parking officer coordinate with official parking officer, many symbols irregularities (regulated by transportation department) by official parking attendants or illegal parking attendants, as well as services provided to customers like cardboard availability on the vehicle and helps to move customer vehicles. While the behavior is shown subscribe parking do not understand the card should be the right of customers and keep paying parking fees.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reception of public officials on Update Pagi SBO TV program. This research using qualitative method. Informants in this study are public officials who come from government or non government in Surabaya. The data collected by indepth interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques used Miles and Huberman models. The results of the study shows that the Update Pagi program is considered important and effective, it is helpful in providing information from stakeholders to the public, and has contributed to delivering new policies or problem solving with a direct dialogue strategy between the community and the government or parties related themes discussed in Update Pagi SBO TV Program.
