Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning methods on mathematics achievement viewed from the student intelligence level. The learning methods compared were problem posing with CTL approach, problem posing and conventional. The type of the research was quasi experimental research. The population was all of students in the seventh grade of Junior High School in Purworejo in the academic year of 2012/2013. The sample of this research was taken by using stratified cluster random sampling. The sample was consisted of 177 students with 90 students in the first experiment class, 95 students in the second experiment class, and 92 students in the control class. The data of  the research were gathered through documentation and test. The result of research showed that: (1) students’ learning achivement by using problem posing learning method with CTL approach was better than students’ learning achivement by using problem posing method and conventional learning, and students’ learning achivement by problem posing learning method was same as conventional learning method, (2) mathematics achievement of students with high intelligence level was better than that of students with medium and low intelligence level, and mathematics achievement of students with medium intelligence level was better than that of students with low intelligence level, (3) in learning by using problem posing learning method with CTL approach, the level of intelligence had the same effect in students’ learning achievement, in learning by using problem posing method, students with high intelligence level had performance as good as the students with medium intelligence level and were better than the students with low intelligence level, in learning by using conventional learning, students with high intelligence level had better learning achivement than students with medium intelligence level and low intelligence level, and learning achievement of students with medium intelligence level was the same as students with low intelligence level, (4) at the level of students’ intelligence with high, medium and low, problem posing learning method with CTL approach, problem posing learning method and conventional method produced the same effect in learning achievement. Abstract

The purpose of this research describe the distribution and trends of theundergraduate thesis that conducted by the Mathematics Education Departmentstudents in terms of the research type, focus of the research, research materials,and research subject, and also describe the difficulties experienced by thestudents. This research is a qualitative case study. The subjects of the researchare 8 th semester of Mathematics Education Department students in the academicyear 2014-2015. The data collecting technique used questionnaire and interviewmethods. The data validity used triangulation method, coordinating betweenquestionnaire and interview data. Results of this research are: (1) the type ofstudent research is quantitative; (2) the focus of the research is learning modeland problem solving; (3) the research material is Geometri; and (4) the researchsubject is junior high school students. In addition, the results obtained thestudent difficulties in arrange the undergraduate thesis and also the solutionsare: (1) they can’t organize their time, the solution make a good planning, (2) thedifficulty in finding, determine the problem, and also determine theundergraduate thesis title, the solution make an undergraduate thesis mapactivities; (3) the difficulty of processing and data analysis and also the laziness,the solution is motivate yourself; (4) The difficulty to meet the lecturers, thesolution is discuss with friends, lecturers, and also family; and (5) the difficultyduring made the instrument, the solution is looking for and reading references.Keywords: trends of the undergraduate thesis , distribution of the undergraduatethesis

Abstract

This study’s aim is to find out experimentation of discovery learning model and direct learning model to critical thinking ability in terms of learning motivation of learners in quadrilateral and triangle mater. The method used in this study is quantitative in the form of quasi experiments. Instruments in this study are critical thinking skills tests presented in the form of post-test, learning motivation questionnaire and observation sheet. Hypothesis test analysis in this research is anava test of two cell road is not equal to the significant level α = 5%. Based on the research results can be concluded that: (1) There is a difference of critical thinking ability between learners using discovery learning model with learners using direct learning model; (2) There is a difference of critical thinking ability of learners who have high learning motivation with learners who have low learning motivation.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of Realistic Mathematics Education approaches against the ability of mathematical reasoning and understanding of the students. The purpose of this research is to 1) know the comparison the ability between students who learn to use Realistic mathematics education approach with scientific approach, 2) know the comparative ability of reasoning mathematically between students who learn to use Realistic mathematics education approach with scientific approach, 3) know the difference between the understanding of mathematical concepts and reasoning of students. Data collection techniques was in the form of test result data post test as the learning outcomes of students. The data analysis used t test with two samples and test the correlation with significance level 0.05. As for the results of the analysis of the data shows that the 1) the ability of understanding the concept of students who use Realistic mathematics education approach better than students who use scientific approach, 2) mathematical reasoning ability of students using Realistic mathematics education approach better than students who use scientific approach, 3) there is a connection between the understanding of mathematical concepts and reasoning of students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe matters relating to mathematics in the architecture of traditional houses in Sukabumi. This type of research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, verification and inference. The results of this study indicate that in the architecture there are mathematical elements including geometry consisting of rectangles, squares, and lengths. The results of this study are expected to be used as an innovation in mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang penerapan pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan penalaran matematis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan pemahaman konsep antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik dengan pendekatan saintifik, 2) mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan penalaran matematis antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik dengan pendekatan saintifik, 3) mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara pemahaman konsep dan penalaran matematis siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes berupa hasil data posttest sebagai hasil pembelajaran siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan uji t dua sampel dan uji korelasi dengan taraf signifikansi É‘ = 0,05. Adapun hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik, 2) kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik, 3) adanya hubungan antara pemahaman konsep dan penalaran matematis siswa.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pelatihan Penggunaan Microsoft Kaizala yang dihadirkan sebagai solusi berdasarkan pertimbangan dari aplikasi yang mudah digunakan saat era new normal dari pandemic covid-19. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengoptimalkan wawasan peserta dalam memilih hal-hal yang tepat diterapkan saat pembelajaran matematika dan mengembangkan pembelajaran matematika semenarik mungkin. Sasaran kegiatan ini semula adalah guru dan mahasiswa calon guru matematika di sekolah menengah. Namun pada pelaksanaannya kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh dosen, guru, mahasiswa dan pemerhati pendidikan matematika dengan ruang lingkup nasional secara daring melalui media teleconference Zoom dan aplikasi Microsoft Kaizala. Tahapan kegiatan ini, yakni: 1) Survey dan observasi permasalahan pembelajaran matematika secara daring di sekolah menengah 2) Forum Group Discussion untuk menentukan solusi yang akan dilaksanakan untuk mengatasi temuan saat survey dan observasi 3) Pelaksanaan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini memperoleh ketercapaian target sebesar 146% secara kuantitas dan antusiasme peserta mengikuti seluruh rangkaian acara yang tinggi. Abstract:  Microsoft Kaizala Usage Training which is presented as a solution based on considerations of an easy-to-use application during the new normal era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The training carried out aims to improve and optimize participants' insights in choosing the right things to apply when learning mathematics and developing mathematics learning as interesting as possible. Initially the target of this activity was teachers and students who are prospective mathematics teachers in secondary schools. However, in practice this training activity was attended by lecturers, teachers, students and observers of mathematics education with a national scope online through the Zoom teleconference media and the Microsoft Kaizala application. The stages of this activity are: 1) Survey and observation of mathematics learning problems online in secondary schools 2) Forum Group Discussion to determine solutions to be implemented to overcome findings during surveys and observations 3) Implementation of training. This activity achieved the target of 146% in terms of quantity and enthusiasm of the participants in the entire series of high events.

Abstract

The design of HOTS Ethnic-Mathematics is the stage that has been intended in this study. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) by producing results in the form of Mathematics Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions based on culture and local wisdom (Ethnic-Math HOTS). The development model referred to by the researcher is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) which is adapted into Analysis, Design, and Development (ADD). The conclusion of this paper is Mathematical problem designs that are integrated with local culture and local wisdom can be developed into questions that have a function to measure students' high-level abilities. High-level abilities that can be measured using these questions are analytical skills, evaluation skills and creative abilities. By completing questions related to the culture in the area around students, students will be more challenged and motivated to do it. In addition, it will increase students' knowledge about the local culture in the area.

Abstract

Masih rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam memecahkan masalah khususnya soal matematika perlu menjadi perhatian bagi semua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain LKS digital berbasis STEAM untuk mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian R&D dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terbatas pada tahap perancangan (design). Proses desain dari LKS ini melalui dua tahapan yaitu analisis (analyze) meliputi (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) analisis karakteristik siswa, (3) analisis kurikulum bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa, mengetahui batasan materi, dan juga perlu tidaknya pengembangan LKS ini dilakukan. Tahap kedua yaitu perancangan (design), peneliti mendesain LKS digital setelah dilakukan peta penyusunan LKS, penyusunan desain isi LKS, dan juga pengumpulan referensi. Hasil dari perancangan (design) ini adalah desain penyajian soal pemecahan masalah berupa tema permasalahan yang memuat konsep matematika dengan tahapan proses pemecahan masalah menggunakan pendekatan STEAM bertujuan memenuhi indikator pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study discusses how to improve students' abilities after using a problem-based learning model in mathematics learning material. This type of research is quantitative research. Quantitative research consists of experimental methods and survey methods. In this study using the experimental method. The experimental method used to find interaction. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with class 2 research taken from class VIII SMP in one of the cities of Sukabumi. The research sample used cluster random sampling technique. The research design used in this study was the design of the pretest-posttest control group. The instrument used in this study is essay questions as many as 6 items which have been declared valid and reliable. Based on the prerequisite test of the data produced by the research data, it is not normally distributed so that further testing is carried out, namely the mann-withney test. From the data analysis, the average posttest value of the experimental students with the problem based learning learning model was 18,24 and the average score of the posttest control class students without using the problem based learning learning model was 15,17. There is a significant difference in student learning outcomes, this is evidenced by the mann-withney test so this study rejects H0 and accepts H1. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in learning outcomes in mathematical punishment abilities of students who use learning by using problem-based learning models on the material to get a flat side space.
