Abstract

The chemical bonding is one of the topics of discussion in chemistry that studies atomic and molecular structures that are difficult for students to understand because of their microscopic nature. Augmented Reality (AR) technology can combine three-dimensional virtual world objects into a real three-dimensional environment. Therefore, learning media were developed with the help of Augmented Reality (AR) for chemical bonding materials. This research is a research and development (R&D), with a modified 4D development model by Thiagarajan. The stages starting from define, design and develop. The data collection instrument used the material expert validation test instrument, the media expert and readability test to students. The data analysis technique used percentage descriptive analysis.The validity test of the material, media and readability test showed that the results of the media percentage were 87.9%, 79.87% and 87.6%, respectively. This percentage is included in the very valid category without revision.Thus, it can be concluded that the Augmented Reality media in the Chemical Bond material developed is declared very suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar yang meliputi 3 ranah, yaitu pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap. Ranah pengetahuan yang hendak dicapai oleh guru-guru IPA SMP saat ini adalah kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills). Civitas Akademik Program Studi Pendidikan IPA FMIPA Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) mengadakan workshop pengembangan soal-soal HOTS bagi MGMP IPA SMP Banyuwangi. Peserta yang hadir dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 120 guru, dengan latar belakang pendidikan yakni Pendidikan Biologi, Pendidikan Fisika, dan Pendidikan Kimia. Materi yang disampaikan diawali dengan pengenalan Kurikulum Program Studi Pendidikan IPA FMIPA Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) dan Kurikulum 2013 untuk IPA SMP, dilanjutkan dengan materi utama yaitu materi dalam IPA dan pengembangan soal HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills). Dalam pelaksanaannya, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bagi MGMP IPA SMP Banyuwangi ini terlaksana dengan baik dan efektif.

Abstract

The observation in the Junior High Schools (SMP/MTs) in Malang City found that students had difficulties in understanding energy in the life system’s topic. It is because learning is centered on the teacher, and the students only accept concepts explained by the teacher. Therefore, a science teaching book is needed to support student understanding of the energy in the life system’s material and the student-centered learning achieved. This study aims to produce a science teaching book with a scientific approach to analyze the concept of energy for seventh-grade junior high school that is valid and suitable for use in learning. The feasibility test is done through media validation, material validation, and limited readability tests. Media and material validation were carried out by one science education lecturer, and limited readability testing was carried out by three junior high school teachers and ten seventh grade junior high school students who had taken energy topic in the life system. The results of the study showed that the science teaching book with a scientific approach developed is valid and appropriate to use in the future.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil literasi sains siswa Indonesia menjadi sebuah masalah serius. Sebab bangsa Indonesia menempati urutan 70 dari 78 negara di dunia. Oleh karena itu, tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan sosialisasi literasi sains berdasarkan kerangka PISA untuk para pendidik IPA di Indonesia. Metode yang kami gunakan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, serta tahap pelaporan dan publikasi. Hasil tahap persiapan yaitu jadwal, penanggung jawab kegiatan, materi yang disampaikan, dll. Kemudian hasil tahap pelaksanaan yaitu 72,5% peserta yang hadir adalah guru IPA SMP/MTs, 48,8% peserta merasa sangat puas dalam pelaksanaan sosialisasi, akan tetapi 49,8% peserta merasa cukup puas karena menginginkan durasi yang lebih lama. Selanjutnya hasil tahap pelaporan dan publikasi yaitu laporan sudah disusun dalam bentuk hardfile dan softfile, dan salah satu luaran publikasi media massa di laman ‘Tugu Malang’ berhasil dipenuhi dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Literasi sains, PISA, Pendidik IPA

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang menjadi penyebab rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa adalah media lembar kerja siswa yang digunakan kurang menarik. Berdasarkan studi literatur, Liveworksheet merupakan aplikasi yang dapat membuat lembar kerja siswa menjadi lebih menarik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu, menjelaskan proses pengembangan, mengetahui kelayakan dari produk lembar kerja siswa berbantuan aplikasi Liveworksheet yang dibuat, serta mengetahui peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah mengaplikasikan lembar kerja siswa berbantuan aplikasi Liveworksheet. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa angket uji validasi, angket motivasi belajar siswa, angket uji kepraktisan guru, dan angket uji keterbacaan siswa. Hasil dari validasi media dan materi oleh validator secara berturut-turut adalah 91,3% dan 95,6% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Hasil dari uji keterbacaan siswa didapatkan nilai 84,4% yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Hasil dari uji kepraktisan guru juga didapatkan nilai 98,4% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Sedangkan hasil dari angket motivasi belajar siswa, diperoleh peningkatan sebanyak 8,6% setelah mengaplikasikan lembar kerja siswa berbantuan aplikasi Liveworksheet. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk lembar kerja siswa berbantuan aplikasi Liveworksheet yang kami kembangkan mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa SMPN 23 Malang.

Abstract

Indonesia's scientific literacy ability is low with a score of 389. This score can indicate the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. To improve critical thinking can be done by innovating learning tools. For this reason, this research was conducted using the R&D method to develop UKBM which can help students achieve learning mastery. UKBM is part of the learning tools. In this study, UKBM was prepared based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the physics of the human circulatory system. So that it can be used by students in learning to enrich their knowledge by oriented towards critical thinking skills. The model used in this research is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research was conducted during the Covid-19 virus pandemic, so there has been no effectiveness test. The validity of UKBM was obtained through validation of Education Study Program lecturers at FMIPA UM and science teachers at SMPN 8 Malang. The readability test was carried out on 31 students of SMPN 8 Malang grades 9E and 9F who had received material on the physics of the human circulatory system. The percentage of UKBM product validity was 85.41% and the readability test percentage was 87.98%. Based on these results, the PBL-based UKBM on the Physics of the Human Circulatory System Oriented Critical Thinking Skills was declared valid and passed the readability test.

Abstract

Decreased student learning interest in the pressure of substance material is influenced by less interactive of learning media. The interactive media that we developed is based on articulate storyline application for junior high school’s student. The ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model is used to develop this product. The results were increasing value in the pre-test 41,4 to post-test 54,5. Then the result of the t-test analysis obtained a significance value of 0,001<0,05. In addition, the percentage of the descriptive analysis shows that the majority of students were 'interested' in the interactive media is 76.66%. Thus, we get the conclusion that the development of interactive media based on Articulate Storyline is able to increase the student interest at junior high school in the pressure of substance material.

Abstract

From the result of literature review, hologram as learning media is able to attract student interest and learning, and it is suitable to use in various disciplines and levels of education. In other hand, the observational result in the field, teachers rarely used an innovative media and student learning outcomes are low in sound material. Therefore, the authors are interested in developing hologram media content forms as e-books and hologram videos on sound material. This research is using R&D method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluate). Based on our result, it can be concluded that the development of e-books and hologram videos on sound material are valid with a percentage 88.5% and are suitable to use in the classroom with a percentage 89.4%. Likewise, from the result of the reliability test for pre-test and post-test questions has a value of 0.882, so that these questions are reliable. After these products are used in the classroom, the effectivity test with N-gain experienced value in a moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of hologram media content for sound material, such as e-book and hologram videos, are effective to use in junior high school.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the student’s understanding of Earth and Solar System in Science subjects through the use of teaching aids. The type of research was collaborative classroom action research between the researcher and teacher. There were two cycles in this study with 4 stages each, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques used were observation sheets and tests. Data analysis was carried out using a quantitative descriptive method for the observation sheet and post-test. The results of the study showed that the percentage of learning mastery was 67% in cycle I, both in the first and second meetings. Meanwhile, the percentage of learning mastery in cycle II in the first and second meetings were 75% and 83% respectively. This study concludes that teaching aids can improve the student’s understanding of Earth and Solar System in Science subjects in class VII-D at SMP Negeri 1 Gedangan.

Abstract

Based on the observations, it was found that there were several problems experienced by students in schools in the Gresik region, province of East Java, Indonesia. Along with the assignment of professional science teacher candidates at the school, the authors provide a solution assisting the implementation of collaborative classroom action research as a form of community service. This activity was carried out in several junior high schools in the Gresik region in collaboration with local teachers. The objectives of this activity are 1) science teacher candidates could identify student problems and find appropriate learning actions at school, 2) evaluate the progress of science teacher candidates in each cycle, and 3) science teacher candidates could write scientific articles based on the implementation of collaborative classroom action research. With hybrid assisting methods online and offline, this activity can run smoothly and optimally. The results obtained are that PjBL is the most chosen learning model as an action to solve student learning outcomes. Then during the collaborative most chosen, all prospective teachers showed good progress in each cycle. The final result is that professional science teacher candidates can write scientific articles for publication in accredited national journals. Keywords: Teacher Candidates, Science, PTK
