Abstract

The application of ethnomathematics-based cultural education that is integrated into learning can be through the development of learning instruments. Learning instruments consist of syllabus, learning material, student worksheets, learning resources, learning media, and evaluation tools. This studies discusses about worksheets, lesson plans, and syllabus in which ethnomatematics and character education have been included with purpose was to explain the development of syllabus, learning material, and mathematics student worksheets based on ethnomatematics in strengthening student character education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam mempelajari materi sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di kelas X IPS-2 SMA Islam NU Pujon diketahui bahwa banyak siswa yang tidak mampu menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan sebagai berikut: 1) kesulitan dalam memahami konsep dan definisi, 2) kesulitan dalam penerapan sikap cermat dan teliti siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah konstektual sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel, 3) kesulitan dalam menyusun konsep SPLTV, 4) kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel dengan metode eliminasi dan subtitusi, 5) kesulitan dalam penarikan kesimpulan penyelesaian masalah konstektual sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan modul dengan pendekatan kontekstual pada materi persamaan linear dua variabel untuk siswa SMP kelas VIII. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan modul yang valid dan praktis sehingga layak digunakan. Penelitian ini mengacu model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), development (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar penilaian validasi dan angket respons siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMPN 16 Malang kelas VIII. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa rata-rata skor hasil validasi adalah 3.04 pada rentang skor skala 4. Dengan demikian dikatakan bahwa modul memenuhi kriteria valid. Berdasarkan hasil angket respons siswa diketahui bahwa skor rata-ratanya adalah 3.70 pada rentang skor skala 4. Dengan demikian dikatakan bahwa modul memenuhi kritetia sangat baik dan praktis untuk digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diuraikan, semua aspek penilaian modul yang meliputi aspek materi, penyajian, bahasa, dan keterkaitan materi dengan dunia nyata dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul tersebut valid dan praktis

Abstract

This study describe the analysis of the difficulty of students in completing problem arithmetic operations on mixed numbers class VI MI Darussalam Malang. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are students of class VI MI Darussalam Malang with high, medium, and low grades. The results showed that: (1) students in the high and medium grades did not have difficulty in changing mixed fractions to ordinary fractions, however students in the low grade category have difficulty in converting mixed fractions to ordinary fractions; (2) students in the high grade category have no difficulty equating the denominator, however students in the medium and low grade categories have difficulty in equating the denominator of fractions; (3) students with all three categories of high, medium, and low grades have difficulty in calculating fraction operations with three mixed numbers; and (4) students in the high, medium, and low grade categories have difficulty completing the mixed fraction counting operation.

Abstract

Most students consider mathematics as a difficult and confusing subject of the many subjects, solid geometry is one of the mathematical subjects considered by students to be the most difficult to understand. Therefore a study was conducted on the difficulties of students in completing the material in solid geometry. The purpose of this study is to describe the difficulty of students in solving mathematical problems in the material surface area and volume of the solid geometry with flat side, especially rectangular solid. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Based on research that has been done, it is known that students have difficulty understanding concepts and definitions, difficulty applying formulas, and difficulty in calculations.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan memiliki tujuan menganalisis kesulitan siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) kelas VII dalam mempelajari diagram lingkaran. Penelitian sebelumnya belum ada yang menganalisis khusus tentang diagram lingkaran, sebagian besar peneliian menganalisis kesulitan statistik secara umum. Metode penelitian adalah metode kualitatif. Penyajian dan analisis data pada penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan secara naratif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMP yang diklasifikasikan berkemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat beberapa kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam mempelajari diagram lingkaran diantaranya yaitu kesulitan siswa dalam menggunakan rumus, kesulitan dalam menghitung, dan kesulitan dalam mengubah kalimat permasalahan ke dalam model matematika ataupun sebaliknya.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develope mathematical learning instrument based on ethnomatematics in strengthening students’ character education. The learning instruments consist of syllabus, lesson plan, and student worksheet. This research is a development study. This research was conducted in grade 8 of junior high school in Indonesia. This research was implemented in three stages, namely: define, design, and develop. The define phase includes the analysis of syllabus, syllabus, lesson plan, and student worksheet; the design stage includes the preparation of learning instruments draft and research instruments; the development stage includes the test of learning instruments, evaluation and perfection of learning instruments. The validation results of expert validators were as follows: syllabus device with a value of 4.62 with a very valid category, student worksheet instruments with a value of 4.59 with a very valid category, while the materials learning device with a value of 3.55 with a very valid category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the differences in the characteristics of the ability to think creatively between women and men in solving mathematical problems through an open description test. The research subjects were students of IKIP Budi Utomo Malang semester 3 Mathematics Education Study Program. The mathematical problem solving provided is mathematical problems that require divergent thinking in solving them. This research is a qualitative-descriptive research in which to determine the characteristics of the ability to think creatively through a mathematical problem solving test. The purpose of this research is to describe the different characteristics between women and men in solving math problems. Based on the results of the analysis, it is said that a person has different creative potential both from the characteristics of creative thinking and the creative point of view he has. A person's ability to think creatively is due to the person's personal characteristics, problem characteristics, and point of view. A person is able to develop the creative potential contained in him by getting to know more about the characteristics of the ability to think creatively, especially what aspects stand out.
