Abstract

Telaga Waja River in Karangasem Regency has got water discharge from 2.500 to 3.500 litre per second. The use of fertilizer, farm and household cesspool disposal, and changes of land function can reduce the quality of the water. This research is done in order to know the quality of water and index of its pollution. This research is done in Telaga Waja river for along 10 kilometres from Besakih Village to Muncan Village from August until November 2011. The research of physic parachmeter, chemistry and microbiology by taking sample for insitu and eksitu examination are compared with the standard quality of Balinese Goverment Regulation No.8/2007. While the observation and interview are done in order to know beha,1our of the people in polluting the water. Result of the research shows that the concentration of Fecal coli and Total coliforms reach 240.000.000 MPN/100 ml It is more than standard quality of all classes. The analysis of COD is more than first class water quality, BOD and Fosfat are more than third class water quality and DO concentration is less than minimum first class water concentration. The evaluation of Pollution Index (Pl) for first class water in all location is high polluted. Evaluations PI of third and fou1th class standard water quality in Menanga Village and Muncan Village are medium polluted and from Rendang Village until Muncan Village is high polluted in the delta of the river. Water condition indicate function ofTelaga Waja watershed for agriculture, living place, tourism ( rafting, restaurant, and villa), and mining pollute the water. Base on the evaluation of pollution index, all locations are medium and high polluted. That is why the goverment, entrepreneurs, and the society should save River Telaga Waja by keeping it clean. Observation of the water quality is also should be done regularly.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tukad Mati is one of watershed that is flow through two regencies of Badung and Denpasar that has 12 km length. Tukad Mati functioned as irrigation, drainage system and as the exile of wastewater from all activities along the river. Because of the pollution, the water quality has degraded. The source of pollution is organic matter pollutant, agricultural pollutant such as pesticide and hazardous waste. The aim of this research is knowing the pollutant loading rate from point source and non point source using Qual2kw model, to define that amount of pollutant that are allowed to exile in Tukad Mati river. The water quality parameter that analyzed is DO, COD, BOD and Phosphate. This research divided into three sections, and 4 scenario of simulation to know allowed loading rate of pollutant along the river. The result of simulation using Qual2kw for BOD that is the minimum DO loading rate was 1,15 kg/day for section 1 then maximum loading rate is 64,88 kg/day on section 3. Meanwhile for COD parameter, the minimum loading rate is 1446,61 kg/day and in the upstream the minimum COD loading rate 1375,06 kg/day. For phosphate parameter the loading rate that allowed is 0,79 kg/day, while in the upstream maximum 12,57 kg/day on segment 3. Keywrods : Tukad Mati, Qual2KW 5.1, Loading Rate, water quality

Abstract

Indonesia Power Generating Business Unit Bali is a state-owned enterprises (SOE.5) engaged in the electrification of Java and Bali. This company manages 15 units of power plants, 11 diesel and 4 PLTG which total 201.29 MW of power generated. The amount of power it will produce a greater flow of waste so that waste processing technology needed a good and effective. This study aims to determine the quality of waste water pollutant levels and the effectiveness of waste processing, that data analysis and processing using Microsoft Visual FoxPro programming language. Sampling was conducted in February and March of 2011 with the parameters of temperature, pH, dissolved solids (TDS), oil and grease, BODs, COD, sulfide (H2S), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and dissolved iron (Fe). This study is descriptive with a primary method of data collection with laboratory tests. The study was conducted by comparing the quality of waste water in TS I, which on the inlet separator I, TS II; namely the outlet separator II and TS III, namely the outlet waste treatment process as a whole with the specified quality standards. The results are less optimal effectiveness of wastewater treatment poses on cadmium (Cd) by the average value of 61.32% because it is below the prevailing standards of effectiveness by the average value of 97.17% so that its effluent quality with average of 0.14 ppm exceeds the standard set that is equal to 0.01 ppm. This is due to the absence of alternative waste treatment processes to reduce the content of heavy metals, especially cadmium (Cd) and to improve the effectiveness of the previous
