Abstract

Introduction: Depression is a health problem in the world that has affected more than 300 million peoplearound the globe. This health problem is characterized by feeling sad, depressed, irritability as well asdistortion of cognition such as self-criticism, feeling of guilt, feeling of worthlessness, lower self-confidence,pessimism and hopelessness where their manifestations may vary for each individual. Method: In this study,it compares the fluoxetine group combination of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) with thefluoxetine group in the treatment of reducing symptoms of depression and improving cognitive function.This research is an experimental research with pre-test and post-test control group design. The samplingtechnique was done by using consecutive sampling for each group. Results: From the results of the studyit was found that the mean of Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), the Indonesian version of theMontreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-Ina) and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) serum levelsin the samples given by both groups experienced statistically improvements. Conclusion: there is an effecton the provision of fluoxetine therapy combination of REBT compared to fluoxetine therapy alone inimproving depressive symptoms, cognitive function as well as increasing BDNF serum levels.

Abstract

AbstrakSecara global sekitar 2,3 miliar lansia mengalami overweight dan obesitas. Restriksi kalori adalah intervensi yang berpengaruh untuk memperpanjang hidup, namun sulit bagi setiap orang untuk menerapkan restriksi kalori seumur hidup. Oleh karena itu diperlukan intervensi lain yang memiliki manfaat sama dengan restriksi kalori. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh restriksi kalori, dan  restriksi  kalori mimetik terhadap profil lipid tikus tua. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimental menggunakan metode acak terkontrol dengan Pre and Post test with controlled group design. Menggunakan 18 ekor tikus dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok, A (kontrol), B (restriksi kalori), dan C (restriksi kalori mimetik) dan tiap kelompok terdiri dari 6 ekor tikus. Uji One Way Anova digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Dari hasil uji perbandingan secara keseluruhan terdapat perbedaan kolesterol, trygliserida, LDL-Cholesterol, HDL-Cholesterol serum tikus antara kelompok A,B, dan C setelah 30 hari perlakuan dengan nilai p<0.005. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa restriksi kalori dan restriksi kalori mimetik mempengaruhi profil lipid. Kata kunci : restriksi kalori, restriksi kalori mimetik, profil lipid, penuaan AbstractGlobally around 2.3 billion elderly are overweight and obese. Calorie restriction is a powerful intervention for prolonging life, but it is difficult for everyone to implement calorie restriction for life. Therefore, other interventions are needed that have the same benefits as calorie restriction. This study aims to determine the effect of calorie restriction, and mimetic calorie restriction on the lipid profile of elderly rats and includes an experimental study using a randomized controlled method with Pre and Post test with controlled group design. Using 18 rats were divided into 3 groups, A (control), B (calorie restriction), and C (mimetic calorie restriction) and each group consisted of 6 rats. One Way Anova test was used to see the difference before and after the intervention. From the results of the overall comparison test, there were differences in cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-Cholesterol, HDL-Cholesterol in rat serum between groups A, B, C, and D after 30 days of treatment with p < 0,005. From the results of the study it can be concluded that calorie restriction and mimetic calorie restriction affect the lipid profile. Keywords: calorie restriction, mimetic calorie restriction, intermittent fasting, lipid profile, aging

Abstract

Mutasi pada protein anti-apoptosis BCL-2 merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya kanker payudara. Beberapa studi in vitro telah menunjukkan bahwa Eupatorium triplinerve Vahl, yang mengandung flavonoid, timohidrokuinon, terpenoid, karoten, vitamin C, stigmasterol, dan kumarin memiliki efek sitotoksik terhadap sel kanker payudara. Kumarin telah dilaporkan oleh berbagai penelitian berperan dalam berbagai jalur penghambatan terjadinya kanker. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan dan menilai docking dari turunan senyawa kumarin yang terdapat pada tanaman Eupatorium triplinerve Vahl, yakni ayapanin dan ayapin, terhadap protein BCL-2. Docking dilakukan dengan menggunakan program command Autodock Vina pada personal computer (PC) dengan sistem operasi Windows 10 64-bit. Struktur protein BCL-2 dengan kode PDB 6QGG diunduh dari RCSB Protein Data Bank dan struktur 3D dari ayapanin dan ayapin diambil dari situs PubChem. Proses moleculer docking dilakukan secara bertahap dari penyiapan ligan dan protein, validasi metode docking, proses docking, hingga analisis data. Energi ikatan yang diperoleh dari docking antara senyawa ayapanin dan ayapin terhadap protein BCL-2 adalah -6.3 kcal/mol dan -6.9 kcal/mol dibandingkan dengan energi ikatan ligan bawaan, yakni -10.3 pada kantung aktif yang sama. Dengan demikian, ayapanin dan ayapanin memiliki potensi sebagai senyawa inhibitor protein anti-apoptosis BCL-2.

Abstract

One of the most popular diets today recommends a high protein- low carbohydrate diet as a weight loss strategy in obese patients. Diets high in protein appear to reduce appetite, energy intake, weight gain, and fat accumulation. The application of a high-protein diet has an impact on reducing the portion of other macronutrients, namely carbohydrates and fats. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a high protein, low carbohydrate and low fat (TPRKRL) diet on body health. With the focus of the analysis on changes in body weight, serum glucose and cholesterol levels in 22 male Wistar rat samples who were given the standard diet and the TPRKRL diet for 8 weeks. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the variables of body weight, serum glucose and cholesterol levels between the TPRKRL diet group and the control group (standard diet). In fact, the rats in the TPRKRL group experienced a relatively constant increase in body weight and glucose and cholesterol levels were susceptible to normal.Keywords: high protein; body weight; glucose; cholesterol
