Abstract

Bats are one of the animals that have the 2nd greatest diversity of species in the class of mammals after Rodentia. One of bats habitat is karst cave. East Java has more karst area like Tuban, Gresik and Bojonegoro. The bats of Lawa Cave at karst Dander have not studied yet. This study aimed to identify the species of bat in area Lawa Cave karst region Dander Bojonegoro. This research conducted during the months of February-March 2013. Bats collected directly from 4 stations in Lawa cave area using traps mistnet with size 3x10 m. Identification was done in the Taxonomy Laboratory Department of Biology UNESA. The results of this study obtained 5 species of bat: Rousettus amplexicaudatus, Hipposideros larvatus, Pipistrellus javanicus, Rhinolophus pusillus, Megaderma spasma.

Abstract

Vorticella included in Protozoa that have an important role mainly on aquatic life, such as bioindicators, and heavy metal bioremediation agents on heavy metals contaminated waters with passive and active uptake process, therefore, necessary culture Vorticella enough to be used as bioremediator. This study aimed to describe the growth pattern of Vorticella globosa populations. This study used a completely randomized design with two treatment factors are the type of soaking culture medium of cogon grass, rice bran and banana pseudostem and concentration of 1%, 2% and 3% w/v and EL medium as well as control medium with 3 replications. The parameters measured were the Vorticella globosa population growth curve for 8 days. Vorticella globosa population growth curves were analyzed descriptively. The results showed Vorticella globosa population growth curves have the same pattern, there is a lag, log, stationary, and death phase, but the time for each phase varies.

Abstract

Bawang putih merupakan salah satu komoditas penting yang banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bumbu masak. Besarnya peran bawang putih sebagai bumbu masakan mendorong konsumsi bawang putih semakin meningkat. Sentra bawang di Jawa Timur tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pasar sehingga Indonesia mengimpor bawang putih. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis nematoda parasit, mendeskripsikan tingkat serangan nematoda parasit pada bawang putih impor dan lokal di Jawa timur dan mengetahui hubungan antara mutu bawang dengan nematoda parasit. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode sampel acak. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan,diperoleh hasil berupa tiga jenis nematoda parasit yaitu Ditylenchus dipsaci, Aphelenchoides sp., Xiphinema sp., dan tiga jenis nematoda non parasit yaitu Dorylaimus sp., Rhabditis sp., dan Plectus sp.. Intensitas serangan nematoda parasit pada bawang impor dan lokal Magetan sama, yakni 1 parasit/umbi dengan kategori ringan. Intensitas serangan pada bawang putih lokal Pacet sebanyak 2 parasit/umbi dengan kategori ringan. Prevalensi Ditylenchus dipsaci sebesar 15% dengan kategori sering. Prevalensi Aphelenchoides sp. sebesar 0,5%  dengan kategori jarang pada bawang putih impor dan lokal Magetan. Prevalensi Xiphinema sp. Sebesar 2% dan 3% dengan kategori kadang-kadang pada bawang putih lokal Magetan dan Pacet. Ada hubungan antara mutu bawang dengan nematoda parasit pada bawang putih impor dan lokal.

Abstract

Cacing tanah memerankan peran penting dalam ekosistem tanah. Sidoarjo merupakan kabupaten di Jawa Timur yang dikenal sebagai salah satu kawasan industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis cacing tanah dan menganalisis hubungan jenis, kepadatan dan morfometri tubuh cacing tanah dengan adanya kadar logam berat Timbal (Pb) dan Kromium (Cr) dalam tanah di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Sampel diambil di enam stasiun di Kabupaten Sidoarjo menggunakan metode purposive random sampling. Pengambilan sampel cacing tanah menggunakan metode hand shorting kemudian diidentifikasi sampai tingkatan spesies. Parameter fisik dan kimia yang diamati yaitu pH, suhu, kelembapan, dan kandungan Pb dan Cr dalam tanah. Perhitungan kepadatan cacing tanah menggunakan rumus kepadatan, selanjutnya hubungan antara kepadatan dan kandungan Pb dan Cr dalam tanah dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi Spearman. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Maret-Mei 2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Kabupaten Sidoarjo terdapat tiga jenis cacing tanah, yaitu jenis Metaphire javanica, Amynthas robustus, dan Methaphire posthuma. Kepadatan total cacing tanah pada enam stasiun yaitu Kecamatan Porong, Jabon, Candi 1 dan 2, Tanggulangin dan Waru, masing-masing 20, 12, 16, 24, 32 dan 20 individu/m2. Tidak ada hubungan antara kepadatan dan jenis cacing tanah dengan adanya logam berat Pb dan Cr dalam tanah namun ada hubungan antara morfometri tubuh cacing tanah dengan logam berat Pb dan Cr dalam tanah.

Abstract

The core competences of Environmental Sciences are to communicate and to understand the concepts of natural resources and environment, to solve related problems, and to have an environmental awareness. An effective effort is needed to train the environmental awareness. The purposes of this research were to evaluate how to train the attitudes of biology education study program students in the second semester who were taking the environment knowledge lecture. This research was quantitative and qualitative interpretation research by observing the learning process of Biology education students through lesson study. The research stages consisted of plan, do, and see in two cycles. The collected data included the results of observation on the learning process by the observer, the lecturers? assessment related to the skills and attitudes during the learning process, and the students? self-assessment on their attitudes. The data were analyzed descriptively. The research revealed that the students learned actively, they cooperated within groups, the class cleanliness was an indicator of attitude to environmental awareness because the lecturers always reminded the students related to the indicators of keeping the environment clean and treating garbage, the learning resources used challenged the students to work and discuss. The students? attitudes towards environmental awareness are categorized as good-very good, the results of the lecturers? assessment of the attitudes are categorized as good, and results of the students? presentation skills are categorized as good-very good.

Abstract

AbstractCritical thinking is a process directed in solving problems and become a much-needed ability to make students better prepared in the learning process. Critical thinking skills in learning proces needs to be facilitated bysuitable appropiate teaching materials that isstudent worksheet based on Reading, Questioning and Answering (RQA) model.RQA learning model is a learning model which train student in construct their own knowledge so the students not only getting the concept but understand the material critically. One of the alternatives to help students to understanding material by facilitating student worksheet to train student’s critical thinking skill.The research was intended to describe the validity of student worksheet based on RQA model in Invertebrate material for train critical thinking skill senior high school student. This research was a developmental research was done based on 4-D model which modified to 3-D model (Define, Design, develop). Abstract

Scientific process skills need to be mastered by students to strengthen the knowledge and understandingthe scientific theories and concepts. Hands on and minds on is an appropriate approach to trained thescientific process skills. This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of Hands On and Minds Onstudent worksheet on Cell material to train the scientific process skills of XI grade. This research was adevelopmental research which used the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop andDiseminate). But, in this study carried out only until the stage of development (develop) and not doingdisseminate (disseminate). The trial of this research was implemented to 20 students of SMA Negeri 1Prambon in April-May 2018. The effectiveness of this worksheet which reviewed from test result andstudents‟ responses showed very good with the students' average score percentage mastery in scientificprocess skills is 100% and 90.45% of students responded positively. Based on the data, it can beconcluded that Hands On and Minds On student worksheet on Cell material to train the scientific processskills of XI grade is effective so it can be used in the teaching and learning process.Keywords: Effectiveness, Hands On, Minds On, Scientific Process Skills, Cell Material.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan kartu permainan Make a Match termasuk salah satu tipe pembelajaran kooperatif yaitu dengan cara mencari pasangan kartu supaya siswa dapat bekerja sama dengan siswa lain dalam menemukan konsep materi yang diajarkan. Materi sistem rangka merupakan salah satu materi yang sulit untuk dipahami dan membosankan bagi siswa. Materi ini lebih banyak hafalan karena terdapat banyak nama latin sehingga pemahaman siswa kurang terhadap  materi yang terdapat pada buku pegangan yang digunakan di sekolah, penjelasan dari guru kurang dipahami oleh siswa dan  kurangnya media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Calon guru diharapkan mampu memfasilitasi siswa untuk menuntaskan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem rangka. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian pengembangan kartu Make a Match pada materi sistem rangka yang bertujuan untuk menhasilkan kartu Make a Match yang efektif serta mendeskripsikan keefektifan kartu Make a Match. Keefektifan ditinjau berdasarkan hasil belajar dan respon siswa. Prosedur pengembangan media menggunakan model ASSURE. Uji coba media dilakukan SMAN 1 Sumberrejo Bojonegoro dengan 20 siswa kelas XI SMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada aspek sikap memperoleh persentase sebesar 95% (sangat efektif), aspek pengetahuan memperoleh persentase ketuntasan 100% (sangat efektif) dengan indikator ketercapaian siswa sebesar 94,3%, dan aspek keterampilan memperoleh skor 3,7 (sangat efektif) dan  respon positif siswa memperoleh persentase sebesar 96,4% (sangat efektif). Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kartu Make a Match pada materi sistem rangka sangat efektif, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai media pendukung dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas XI SMA. kata kunci: media, Kartu Make a Match, materi Sistem Rangka, hasil belajar

Abstract

Worksheets based on scientific approach are one of the learning tools used to train science process skills for students of biogeochemical cycle material on the carbon cycle. This research aims to produce a valid, effective, and practical worksheet. This research method used a research development with 4D development model which aredefine, design, develop, and disseminate, but the stage disseminate are not done. Limited trials are done to 20 students at SMAN 1 Kedungpring, Lamongan in January-February 2019, the measured parameter is the degree of validity in terms of feasibility aspects which are content, presentation, language, the conformity withthe scientific approach and the suitability of the worksheet for practicing the process skills. For the level of practicality is reviewed by the implementation of students activities and responses while the level of effectiveness is reviewed in terms of the result of the analysis of indicators and the post-test score. The data collected by the validation method to determine the validity, methods of observation for student activities and student questionnaire to determine the level of practicality, the test method to determine the effectiveness of data analysis using a quantitative descriptive method. The data gives the result that the validity of worksheet obtaining a score of validity of 4 that are included in the category of very valid, effectiveness level of 85% which is entered in the category of very effective, and the level of practicality is very good and very practical to obtain a percentage of 92% of student activity on worksheet 1, 96.87% of student activity on worksheet 2 and 96% in terms response of students. It was concluded, worksheet based scientificapproach can practice the process skills because feasibility aspects whice are valid, practical and effectively in learning. Abstract

Literasi  adalah  salah  satu  keterampilan  yang  dibutuhkan  dalam  keaksaraan  era  digital.  Salah  satu  carauntuk  dapat  melatihkan  keterampilan  literasi  adalah  dengan  inovasi  berupa  penggunaan  Lembar  KegiatanPeserta  Didik  (LKPD)  berbasis  Literasi  Sains.  Habitat  Invertebrata  yang  beragam  membuat  siswa  hanyamengenal  keanekaragaman  Invertebrata  hanya  dari  buku  saja.  Penelitian  yang  dilakukan  bertujuan  untukmenghasilkan LKPD Invertebrata berbasis literasi  sains pada materi Dunia Hewan yang  layak  secara teoritisberdasarkan  hasil  validasi  para  ahli.  Penelitian  ini menggunakan model  penelitian  3D  yang meliputi  design,define, dan develop. LKPD yang  dikembangkan ditelaah oleh ahli biologi, ahli pendidikan biologi, dan gurubiologi  menggunakan  instrumen  lembar  validasi.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  jika  LKPD  layak  secarateoritis dengan persentase 92,88% dan kategori sangat valid.Kata Kunci: Validitas, LKPD, Literasi Sains, Invertebrata.
